No wonder you wanted me to play a summoner instead. You didn't want me to wreck him solo with -my- greed specialist. :p
If he's a greed thassilonian... no such thing as dominate person. :)

Ehren Ferron |

I don't believe he is. He predates the APG, and archetypes by extension. Granted, I don't know how substantially he was changed (if at all) for the Anniversary Edition.

Gonna try to sleep. Not sure I can. See everyone when I see them.

Ehren Ferron |

Good night! :o

Haha!
Markus needs to come feed his pet before something regrettable happens ;)

Like... the mongrelmen realize she has the right idea and start kidnapping survivors and draining their blood for food. :P

Markus Coffinborn |

Doesn't she only need to eat every 4 days?
I mean, I'll do it tonight if I have to.

GM Kiora |

You've read the Blood of the Night hunger rules? I'm not using them exactly, because every 4 days would make it an issue that only popped up roughly every ~60 days realtime, which is lame. And that's to start off with. What I'm doing is roughly modeled after the ruleset though.
Similarly, the mortal PCs need to eat and drink and sleep everyday before suffering adverse effects, while I believe the Gamemastery rules allow for you to go much longer than that, which is realistic and all but in the context of a game would trivialize the issue to nonexistence.
But in any case I'm not using golarion vampire rules anyway. Per RAW she still has to sleep (but it has to be in a coffin). Changed because I like the idea of having her available to talk to during the day even if she can't do much else, and also to keep you guys from having to lug around a coffin. (I'd be willing to rule that she can sleep in a coffin, though, if you guys decided you did really want to carry one around haha)
She could also drink animal blood per Blood of the Night, but I took that because that doesn't make sense in the context that in Golarion, good vampires are supposed to be extremely rare. If they could just feed on animal blood, Twilight-style, I think good/neutral vampires would be much more common. It's a setting inconsistency that I've decided to nip at the bud >_>

Are you suggesting that Ary replaces her masterwork backpack with a giant coffin that she hauls around on her back, strapped to her with muleback cords?
I'm foreseeing sunlight-based problems, but I am also seeing coolness. Lots of coolness.

That'd work for carrying it but I don't think it'd be possible for anyone to sleep being hauled around like that :)
It'll also draw a lot of attention to her, which you may or may not want. (People are likely to ask why you're carrying around a coffin when you stop by other crusader bases and such)
EDIT: I'm glad you think it's cool though! A big reason why I went into the trouble of putting her into the game is to roleplay through solving her weaknesses :) I thought it'd be fun.

Can also use the D&D traditional coffin in a bag of holding. Since vampires don't need to breathe, they can sleep safely inside, and the movement of the exterior of the bag has no effect on the interior. In fact one of the CRPG's had a vampire character whose bag of holding you carried for her, and if you opened it, there was a coffin inside that you couldn't remove. Another neat trick was a ring with an extraplanar space to allow the vampire to enter/exit via gaseous form, but make it almost impossible to figure out where they went (The ring obviously was given to one of the vampire's thralls).
Edit: Also, Ary, if you're carrying around a huge coffin on your back, isn't it supposed to be filled with weapons, and not, you know... vampire?

Ary Bishop |

Well... wouldn't it be filled with weapons -and- a vampire? :)
The bag of holding thing is cool, too. If the roads were better, we could always just do the carriage thing, too. :P

I think you'd get some very specific people with that number. People who -know- the RPs tend to go really slow compared to what they'd like. ;)
I somehow knew 'around 50 posts a day' was a thing for us. :P I didn't know it was -that- high (72), though I have been gone for like 2 hours to come back to a flurry of fifty posts. :|

Valaria Alazario |

It certainly would have felt daunting if I'd seen 5 posts a day as a requirement.

You know, it's crazy (or maybe I am), but I've been feeling like I've been slacking in my posts and post quality recently. But... I know that's not entirely true. I think that playing two new characters that are on the quiet side is what's pulling at those feelings. But, then, just now, I looked at the character panel. And... excluding the 90 posts she had before she got adopted, Ary still has an insanely huge amount of posts.
I passed my highest post character this month. I've been playing that character for A little over a year.
I've made more than 500 posts on Ary in the last month (more than fifteen per day) That is -crazy-. No wonder I start getting antsy when nobody's posting. I need my fix. :|

Isilme |

You're number two after Kiora :)
Anyway, after your oath post, I don't think you can claim your post quality is slacking :p
Isilme has almost caught up with Li'an for number of posts now!
Edit: And yeah, I was getting that feeling today, and then decided to look at how many posts we had yesterday, since last night felt slow. And lo-and-behold we had 36 posts. So then I looked up what our average posting rate was :)

Ary Bishop |

To be fair... I didn't do a lot of the work on that one. I did leg work... and I typed every line (no copy paste), but it was mostly just trying to pull Ary's memories forward. Probably two thirds was already written somewhere for me. :) I just changed the order a bit.
Also, if I didn't mention it before... one of the few things that stuck with me from Dragonlance was Sturm. A knight in deed, if not in name. So getting to say that no oath was ever required was it's own reward. :)

This is silly. Ary's reactions to Iomedae were my favorite from all 6 of the dream sequences. And that's saying something because Isilme was insanely good also.

Ary Bishop |

I was actually on the fence about posting it. It took all the courage the little lion could muster. Iomedae has been her crush for half a decade. And waaaaaaaay out of her league. So... it almost didn't happen. :)

XD. It was perfect for me. :) Beyond Ary's dreams, too. :p. Her end goal was to just be good enough to shine in her legion.
I'm not sure I ever made it absolutely obvious who Ary's crush was, but I know I made it obvious who her heart belonged to. Did I ever actually outright say it, or did I manage to spell it out with her actions? :)
Either way, I think the scene played out quite well. :) Maybe that's why I felt my posts were lacking... they weren't 'touched by a goddess' tier. :p

I'm sure Holton Albright is a perfectly reasonable man.
Ser Albright: "What's this? So the mongrels wish to steal our crops? What's next, our women? Our children? Burn them all! Back to the Abyss with them!"

And then Albright had a knife in his spine and Val was running the other direction very quickly.

Markus Coffinborn |

I realized that I'm actually last when it comes to posting frequency.
Doesn't surprise me much, though.

GM Kiora |

Have fun scientist friend!
Oh, Isilme. I forgot to mention. The linguistics check is sufficient but actually inventing and learning a language should take time. So I'm ruling a maximum of 20 days (no you don't have to work on it continuously with him, or even every day, I am assuming Aravashnial will do a lot of work himself) orrrr he'll learn it when he reached level 7 (when you all are level 9) whichever is sooner
Or maybe you'll get him that scroll first :P who knows

Ehren Ferron |

Lemme see...
For Ehren, activating a scroll of regenerate would be a DC 14 caster level check. With place magic, said check would be 1d20+7... so a pretty high chance of success, and only a 5% chance of a mishap happening if he fails.
This also means he was perfectly capable of activating the scroll of reincarnate on his own, but you know what? The ritual was way cooler. :P
Please correct me if I'm mixing anything up, here. I have honestly never gotten far enough to toy with these rules before.

Markus Coffinborn |

I believe regenerate is a 9th-level spell on the druid spell list, which means we'd need to procure a druid scroll and also it'd be a DC 22 caster level check.
It's likely that we'd get a cleric scroll though, yes?

GM Kiora |

Ehren you are correct on those counts :)
I had assumed you didn't want a failure chance when we did the ritual ;)
As for the dc, that is dependent on who scribed the scroll, not the class of who uses it.
As for how hard it would be to find, it'd be simple for a crusader of sufficient rank or rapport in Nerosyan. It wouldn't be readily available from just public shops. (You should assume that all the high level folks in Nerosyan are crusaders)
Unfortunately none of you are really well known in Nerosyan. Yet :p

GM Kiora |

Right now I am going with the assumption that Isilme wishes to work with Aravashnial for the remainder of the day and that Valaria and Ehren are going to help the Underfolk for the remainder of the day.
If I am incorrect in this and you have further things to accomplish please speak up. I plan to continue to roleplay with all three of you so that you have stuff to respond to so no worries on that front. At least until the other scenes are wrapped up.
Ary still has stuff to do, and Markus is in the middle of his own scene. Hinagiku is following Ary and I am unsure if she has errands to do afterwards.
For myself, I have two scenes planned that mostly concern Annabelle left to go before we can move on, so don't rush :P

Markus Coffinborn |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

There's too many things to do! Aah!
I might be out for the rest of the day, or I might be back in a couple hours and THEN out for the rest of the day.

Hinagiku |

Nope, Hinagiku does not have other errands afterward. I am considering she did most of her praying during the night. The only thing that she might have to do at some point is try to study her scroll so she finally gets access to her new paladinish abilities. Unless someone has a better idea on how she could acquire those... I thought about the Ley, but somehow felt like smite evil should not come from there.
