Strongly considering it, he'll probably be a bit of a switch hitter, with point blank and precise shot at some point. Maybe Opening Volley, Additional Traits, Point Blank Shot, Master Craftsmen, Precise Shot, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Power Attack? Using additional traits to get acrobatics as a class skill, and maybe boost initiative.
Honestly I just like the idea of his forging his own weapons as crafting is important to him, even if they cost the same I would prefer it if he had crafted them himself if it is viable in the game - which it may well not be. Fabricate is not very appealing in that regard, though of course it is oodles better mechanically.

Understandable, honestly if its something you can just go buy I don't really have a problem pretending you make it. Not an expert but I'm under the impression that a traditional folded blade katana takes a few months at most in real life. This is a game. *shrug*
There is supposed to be a good 3rd party rewrite of crafting out there, I'll try to track it down.
edit: Its this, for 99 cents US...

Looks like its basically 2 short tables. Here's how to make an adamantine greatsword:
In their system, everything has a base craft DC 10. Next, a greatsword is a moderate complexity item (opposed to simple, or very complex, etc) meaning it has a base time unit of 4 days and a modifier of +4 to DC. Adamantine is a special material, so you also add +6 (different mods for different materials, tabulated). Using a special material also increases the base time by 50%, for a total of 6 days, DC 20. You still do the 1/3 cost for raw materials acquisition.
I'm fine hand-waving but if you want something more like a mini-game I now have that pdf.
Tarkov
I would be inclined to say that is a little cheap given the 1/3 cost rule and reduced time, maybe that but pay 3/4 price? I do not know how much craft time we will get so it is possible it would not be much of an issue, but Tarkov will probably spend all his down time crafting and I don't want to abuse the system, its sort of a payback for skill investment, but we got background skills and he has not invested much yet.
Basically I would not want to feel miffed if I was playing a character who was not crafting, so saving a bit seems okay, but 2/3 seems too much - I would probably want to craft mithril chainmail to as well as masterwork great swords, etc.

I know that I was looking at the tech crafting areas... nothing says world domination quite like your own cybernetically enhanced army. Wife still in early stages of labor.

Unchained skills also have a bit on craft, which are accessed for non-rogues with the Signature Skill feat:
"5 Ranks: When determining your weekly progress, double the result of your Craft check before multiplying the result by the item's DC."
So with your previous example it would be 20*20*20=8000sp weekly...would take just shy of a month. Assuming you take 10 at 5th level and have been putting ranks, it would be 21*21*20 and lead to 3 and half weeks.
"15 Ranks: When you determine your progress, the result of your check is how much work you complete each day in silver pieces."
So at 15th the same would be a few days.
Tarkov
For a feat I would call that deeply unimpressive, it seems like something you just ought to be able to do. And by my reading it would be 800sp, not 8000sp, you double the result of your check so it would be 40 x 20. Its not 20 x 20, but 20 x 2 at 5th level, for a feat which is not great. And is it me or is it just me or is it weird that the harder something is to make the quicker it is?
I believe feats are generally considered to be worth 8000gp if replicated by a magic item, seems like that feat would take several lifetimes to pay for itself - I am sure it is better with other skills though.
Probably just easier to RP it, buy the stuff normally, and hold out for 7th level when he can take Craft Magic Arms and Armor. A tad disappointing, but probably better than coming up with a potentially unbalancing mechanic for a relatively minor part oif the game.

Zael would only give them a reminder that they are still his for the calling before allowing them to leave. Baby was born yesterday at 3:39 PM EST. Still catching up on sleep.
GM Infinity
Zael we could say that Luepel agrees to stay behind-curious to see what you find regarding the skeletons inside, and perhaps scared you would cut the rope if she starts the climb down. If something monumental happens I could give her a cleric level and have her be a kind of forward base for you guys.
Tessara Winkol
I could always pull double shift with my Evangelist Cleric of Calistria. She is rather the opposite of Tess as she represents more the vengenace angle while she the other stuff. She is actually made for this AP, but it seems to be going nowhere.
Tarkov
I think we will be fine, just pick up a wand and we are covered. I think we are probably close to affording one with the loot we have, depending upon how much the silver chess stuff is worth. Since we are planning on leaving after this encounter I think Luepel staying does not seem to make a lot of sense.
Can I ask everyone to roll that survival check BTW OOC Brown Mould would murder us, so I am hoping someone knows about it.
Zael the Archaeologist
That would be in keeping with something he would implicitly expect, or perhaps having her send someone up with that skill to aid us.
Tarkov
Mmmm, but he intimidated which is a temporary thing and leaves them disliking and possibly reporting to authorities, etc. Having essentially escaped to the Darkands where we are almost certain not to follow it seems a bit counter intuitive that they would send back or leave a healer. I tend to like playing the cards we are dealt we are stronger in combat than a party with a healer it feels a bit illegitimate to negate our disadvantage with an NPC.
Besides a wand allows for quicker play, just ticking off a charge rather than heading back to an NPC with limited spell slots and will likely last several levels - assuming there is one available of course.
GM Infinity
Torch is a Large Town but has its economy reduced due to the Technic League taxes. This makes it behave more like a small town or village for item purchases. It reduces the available spell casting to 3rd, but still leaves a 75% to find anything costing 2400 gp or less. This is further balanced out a tad by the fact that most merchants have unique items for sale.
The AP assumes that the group will penetrate into the ruins some then come back to town a bit, wash and repeat multiple times before the end.
Tarkov
LOL, I am already getting double barrelled Calistrians in another game I don't know if I could take it again. Its a very amusing game where my character, the main fighter, has a regular strength of 6, which is currently 4, very good banter :)
Tarkov
Do we have a plan for distributing wealth? I generally like a strict split of sale value with characters being able to "purchase" found gear at sale price.
So if we found 200gp and a chain shirt, the total sale value would be 250gp, the 200gp plus half value on the chainshirt. We would each get 50gp and one of us could choose the chainshirt. If two or more people want the same item we simply roll off highest wins. One character owing another would be fine if high value items make it necessary, etc.
Ideally we keep a loot list, maybe spoilered in Campaign Info?
I would propose that we all chip in for a healing wand.
Thoughts? :)
GM Infinity
I can make a slide in the current one that has all items found, and their gp equivalent. I'll try to finish it before sleep tonight. Probably an imported spreadsheet so all the totals are calculated for me...if you guys would prefer something interactive on a separate link than the current map/images thats ok too.
Zael the Archaeologist
I have no qualms with such a system. I was mostly thinking that the masterwork thieves tools would be a big aid, but the hand crossbow would give me a ranged weapon (and I had wanted to buy one but ended up getting the sword cane instead).
We are home from the hospital finally... now trying to get used to things here, ;)
GM Infinity
Zael, first one?
Treasure table is up if you guys want to have a look; I can track things in google spreadsheets and then copy it over, so sums are autocalc-ed. Yay computers.
I prefer the decimal system for wealth, but included the RP version as well. "11.11" is "1 pp, 1 gp, 1 sp, 1cp" for example. Or, "0.07" is "7 coppers".
Zael the Archaeologist
Yep, excited and scared at the same time truthfully.
So for this, will we keep things on there until they are allocated or will this be a running tally for the whole arc? (Would be kinda cool to see everything that we ever found, but might get a bit tedious to search through once we are further along.)
Tarkov
Is it possible to enter items actual values if sold rather than total values GM Infinity? It would be much more useful with the halved sale prices - assuming everyone is okay with the proposed system. Valuing things at sale price makes it more attractive to keep stuff since you are essentially getting it for half price, and keeps more wealth in the party.
I make the sellable total 1278.75 so 255.75 each. I feel we really need a healing wand which would be 750gp, so we would need to sell all but 528.75gps value or 1057.5gp worth of full value items.
I would suggest Zael takes the MW Hand Crossbow and Thieves Tools, costing him 250gp, and that Tess takes the MW Chainshirt costing her 125gp. If anyone wanted to buy the Feather Token for 200gp they could otherwise the rest would be sold.
For the Wand each person would chip in 150gp, so Zael would and Tess would be in sort of virtual debt to the rest of the party to be filled in from their share of next loot haul, etc.
So with characters keeping equipment as outlined above, and a 1st level Wand, ideally of Infernal Healing we would get...
Krah 105.75
Jade 105.75
Tarkov 105.75
Zael -70
Tessara -19.25
Available Gold 228
Though honestly I find it a bit gaulling to give Jade a full share at this point.
Zael the Archaeologist
Now now, Jade has about as much right to a fair share as I do given I came late to the party after accepting the invitation. Not that Tessara is complaining much about that, ;) , but still if I am getting an even share then she should too (unless she has formally dropped or something, which would be a shame but now would probably be the easiest time to sort that out with us all in town again).
Tarkov
Just sell it, or keep it by your bed in case there is trouble at night - since it is much quicker to put on. The free starter outfits basically cover things like coats, etc., so you can just say you were wearing a coat all along.
