@Krah LOL, I'm pretty much planning on Tarkov going the opposite way with Zael, coming to trust him more, and perhaps see him as a sort of mentor - although more than anything I am playing it by ear. Tarkov's sense motive is rubbish and he is impressed by technical ability. Plus I enjoy the trope of the honourable warrior duped by an evil, but charismatic leader, its not quite on the nose here but, but ballpark.

Remember we do not know what Zael is saying thinking, or his backstory in character, I don't think anything other than his being part of a party of thugs has raised alarms for Tarkov - and that wariness has probably almost gone at this point. If you are changing Krah's behaviour after reading Zael's backstory that seems like you are acting on OOC knowledge IC which I think is generally to be discouraged.

Actually I think that, given Krah's background, a bit of mistrust from him about now might be well earned in truth. The two are quite similar, though neither really know it. Perhaps if Zael's unknown daughter arrives and stirs trouble they might realize just how similar they are (well, Krah might... I doubt Zael will, given she is a stranger to him... short of her actually finding some way to defuze Zael into the two entities that made him anyway) but baring that Zael is kind of the arcitype for a bad memory to Krah, I would wager. True?

Its possible we could end up exploring Tarkov's background/lineage, in the near future, though probably only getting close enough to cause Tarkov mild anxiety. I was mighty surprised to see that we are heading into Black Horse territory if we go to resolve the Ratfolk Raiders issue.

I also know that if I were GM I would be mighty tempted to have Artrioc and Tarkov's on board nanites connected in some way, though likely in a slightly oblique way.

I was hoping to use the ooc information to get a better idea of how Zael is acting and how Krah would react to it. All the tech know-how comes off as suspicious to Krah. Unless Zael rolls a Bluff check for Krah he won't necessarily have any other reason to feel uncomfortable.

What do we think about going after the Ratfolk? I am probably inclined to keep hitting the hill until we find Baine given that Val is putting us up, and there is still a small chance he is alive.

While scouting is a good idea in theory, it often seems to slow the game and leave everyone else twiddling there thumbs, I am pretty happy without one. That said the best readily available none PC scout is probably the figment a stealthy figment familiar, because even if it dies it comes back the next time you rest and it can take the skilled evolution for a massive boost to stealth - I love figment familiars. Plus you can eventually just give the thing a pair of arms for legit use magic device joy, amazing.

Sure well we have a system in place, might end up "owing" a bit, but it is in all our interest to keep as much as possible that works for the party - since we get it half price effectively.

Someone should definitely keep the cloak to, Tarkov will if nobody else wants it - but I would prefer to put his share towards his adamantine sword.

Zael will probably insist on hanging onto the rod, at least until he can definitively say that it isn't a piece of some larger mystery down there.

Also pretty sure we had more than just three batteries (3 from the first room with the grippers and ePick, which you also forgot, and then the few with the flashlight).

More thematic truth be told, I usually don't rate adamantine that highly - but love Golembane Scarabs. But since I am getting it I will be trying to use it as inventively as possible and thinking of most walls and doors as more suggestion than rule ;)
