OK, I now have a quick Artrioc build... well, the basics of one anyway. Given he is an NPC made him using a 15 point buy (2 points to DEX, 3 to WIS, 5 to INT, and 5 to CHA) and limited him to one trait and feat. Made him a bard, as that was the closest fit to my vision of what he is. I haven't picked out spells for him, as he is unlikely to need to cast them, but I can if you wish. I did, however, pick out skills for him (including a few that might not come up in game play here but he would probably have given his reclusive nature) in case he needs to roll on something that a skill check can be applied to.
I will give you a chance to look over him (he is under the Artrioc spoiler on Zael's sheet) before we proceed with his rolls.

That looks fine, basically you are giving yourself the tireless logic trait with more knowledge options. But did you consider the NPC classes like expert?

I looked over Expert and Adept but they didn't really fit as well in my head (and they were the closest). His purpose (though he isn't fully aware of it, given he was in stasis as long as the Star) was originally to be able to learn, extrapolate new knowledge from that learning, and pass on that knowledge in a pleasing form to those worthy of it (hence Oratory as his bardic performance ability).

The main issue seems to be finding him while blind, since he is gagged, and not freaking out. Hopefully he can show Jade.

Well, given it is dead, Jade might be more willing to take Artrioc up on his offer. She can then use my sight to at least work her way to Krah to assist him with bandaging up, or help vocally guide Tarkov to me. Still, definitely not looking forward to the side effects of the Mental Star's usage. Normal penalty for just talking to Art to get a circumstance bonus to a skill roll is having all combat rolls, dex rolls, or save rolls be taken at -2 for five minutes/rounds, depending on whether or not in combat.

Thanks. To be honest, while I like combat too a bit, and the dice in general have a love/hate relationship with me, it is when I can let my characters speak like that that make this really fun for me. Let me know if I overdo it at some point. :)

Wife is beginning to go into labor (not quite to the "take her to the hospital" phase yet, but it seems to be looming) so my posts might be a bit delayed over the next bit. If you need to automate my character have him stay on the defensive in most ways but verbally (he would not be above trying to intimidate the gremlins or demoralize them).
I will have my phone and will try to check in every so often, even once we are in the hospital.

Incidentally could we use a fix for crafting? I just calculated how long it would take Tarkov to craft an adamantine greatsword and the answer was a year and a half.
3050gp in silver pieces is 30500
DC is 20
Each week of work gets 20x20sp = 400sp
30500/400 = 76.25 weeks
Now that would also save Tarkov just over 2000gp, since you only pay 1/3 of the cost of materials.
Could we perhaps consider something where he saves much less gold, but crafting cool stuff is significantly faster? Perhaps change the silver calculation to gold, but you need to pay 3/4 of the price? And maybe halve the time for special materials, since much of the value is coming from the material not the crafting.
That would mean an adamantine greatsword would cost 2287.5gp and about 24 days of work. Saving 762gp, but taking a nearly a month.
Or well anything that actually makes it possible, I just want Tark to be able to make his own weaponary, don't really care about the cost, though it would be nice to save a little.

Yeah, we can have a tech/magic thing that does fabricate at some point...still requires craft check so its your skill, but takes 1 round.
By the way what are your feat plans, are you thinking opening volley?
