This is Nebraska's. Same as above, let me know if something is wrong.
Dwozer Zaden |
Hello everyone, and thank you for having me :-)
What does the rest of the party look like? Currently, Dwozer is built as a front-liner who enhances that ability with magic. Since he wears heavy armor, he learns mostly spells with a long duration or without a somatic component; that does mean no area of effect, blaster stuff. His skills are Knowledge (arcana, local, planes, religion) and Spellcraft.
I'm happy to make some changes to fit the party's needs better; I just need to know right away, since the free recreation period ends as soon as Dwozer starts the next scenario.
Nebraska Jones |
Welcome! I've the party rogue. Skills out of combat are the classic rogue-monkey stuff with stealth, disable device, sleight of hand, Knowledge dungeoneering, and UMD while also being one of the party's faces. My focus is in UMD, initially planning on invisibility, heavy blades, etc but I could also supplement some of the blaster stuff to a point. Strength is low so I was never intended to be the parties hitter. Mostly a flank partner with inconsistent damage output until I can finesse. As we don't have a healer I'm the primary happy stick operator as well.
@GM, I'm able to heal up my STR damage naturally during this downtime correct?
GM Giuseppe |
Yes, Nebraska.
If I can express my opinion, I say the party needs the following:
1. Area of effect spell. Yes, swarms will eventually become a thing and you have no way to deal with them.
2. Elemental damage. Our casters can't blast anything at all, except for sonic effects. Sometimes elemental damage will be needed.
3. Utility. The group will need a way to fly later on, and a way to swim, to climb, to pass through a closed door. You know, utility and all that implies.
As such, if I can give my humble suggestion, I would emphasize Dwozer casting aspect, even at the cost of sacrificing some melee skills. We already have a frontliner anyway (our good Dolgarth), hence I think spellcasting abilites are the top priority, currently.
But with that said, feel free to choose whatever you want, Dowzer. Just my 2 cents here ;)

We have:
Nebraska, human UMD rogue
— fair dex, awesome Cha. She’s our best face and is going to UMD her way to more utility down the line (once we can get her some wands/scrolls)
Dolgarth, human fighter
— rocks a pretty decent AC and chooses to fight “smart not hard” … basically sword and shield with combat maneuvers (at leas that’s what it looks like.
Aldus the Supplicant, human archer bard
— decent-high Charisma so his casting should be pretty good), also works as an additional face-character.
Jakwin Howell, human melee bard
— a martial bard, so really only a secondary caster. Not so great Charisma, so his skill points will be spent making him more of a fighter type with supporting knowledge skills.
—
So really, we’re lacking strong, flexible casting (either divine or arcane). Dwozer and Jak seem to have some mechanical redundancies (both being hybrid caster/front-liners). I’m not sayign you need to switch things up; just pointing out what’s lacking. :/
Dwozer Zaden |
@Giuseepe: I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to know or wasn't willing to adapt :-)
@Jakwin: Have you guys been spending Prestige Points on wands and scrolls for Nebraska? Potions for yourselves?
@Nebraska: At least he didn't call you half-humans!
I'm going to $5 Monday nights at the movie theater in an hour--and still have to update 5 of my GM games--but I'll start rebuilding Dwozer tomorrow.
Jakwin Howell |
WHAT THE HELLS?! WHERE'D ALL THESE POINTY EARS COME FROM?!
*face palm*
I'm claiming to be acting in character. Jak can be a bit reckless and absent sometimes.
@Jakwin: Have you guys been spending Prestige Points on wands and scrolls for Nebraska? Potions for yourselves?
Not yet, but generally that's the plan. We spent some on the essentials so far. Wands of CLW and Mage Armor, but that's about it so far. I have 2 prestige hanging out there that I could invest, if we know of a low level wand or scroll that we're likely to want/need.

I haven't compiled an official list yet--surprising considering ALL of my characters spend ALL of their prestige on these items--but off the top of my head, here are a bunch of 2 PP purchases that come in handy eventually:
- wand of comprehend languages
- wand of endure elements
- wand of protection from evil
- wand of remove fear
- scroll of align weapon (5)
- scroll of delay poison (5)
- scroll of remove paralysis (5)
- scroll of resist energy (5)
- scroll of lesser restoration (5)
- scroll of silence (5)
- scroll of daylight (2)
- scroll of invisibility purge (2)
- scroll of protection from energy (2)
- scroll of remove blindness/deafness (2)
- potion of remove blindness
- scroll of control water
- scroll of water breathing (2)
- scroll of death ward
- scroll of freedom of movement
- scroll of tongues
- wand of identify
- scroll of glitterdust (5)
- scroll of locate object (5)
- scroll of see invisibility (5)
- scroll of gust of wind (5) - better than energy damage for the swarms that are immune to weapon damage
- scroll of darkvision (5)
- scroll of spider climb (5)
- scroll of clairaudience/clairvoyance (2)
- scroll of invisibility sphere (2)
- scroll of fly (2)
- potion of fly
- scroll of dimension door
- scroll of locate creature
Aldus the Supplicant |
Hello, Dwozer =)
Aldus here, back-liner, ranged, happy stick holder #3 and the other face of the group, as well-explained by Jak. Welcome!
I agree with Giuseppe's points, for what it's worth. Though I hope Aldus and Jak together with Nebraska's wands will be able to provide for some utility (my current spells are silent image and disguise self, btw), elemental damage and AoE are pretty much out of our reach.
@Giuseppe: I realised there's an error on my chronicle (selling shortbow and rapier when I already got their money on the previous sheet). I'll update it tonight and send it again.
@Nebraska: thanks for the campaign mode explanation =)
----
Edit: mate, that's an amazing list. thanks!
Jakwin Howell |
Oh, oh, oh! I totally forgot! My plan was to pick up Alter Self to deal with Darkness and stuff. :)
(Trog form cares not for your darkness, Derro!)
So I could either be selfish and grab that on a scroll to last me until 2nd level, or I could grab items more globally useful for the team.
Thoughts?
Aldus the Supplicant |
The alter self idea sounds good to me. I also have 2 unused PPs, in case we need something. The comprehend languages wand might be a good buy, since I think Dwozer is the only one who speaks something other than common and elven?
BTW, I'm always open for suggestions regarding good archery/bard stuff to buy. Sort of out of ideas after the darkwood buckler and shortbow.
Nebraska Jones |
I have 2 PP unused that can go towards magical toys. That is a great list Dwozer, I'll put it on my profile for easy viewing down the road. The numbers in the parenthesis, is that caster level or quantity of the item?
Dwozer Zaden |

@Nebraska: Quantity. FAQ is here.
And I'm all caught up now, so starting to rebuild Dwozer.
Dolgarth |
I have 4 PP to be spent on whatever. I may opt for a wand of Enlarge Person depending on if I change my build any at the level 2 respec or before.
GM Giuseppe |
Dolgart, where are you with the chronicle?
Dwozer, do you think you'll be able to finish by tomorrow? I'd like to get started as soon as possible, in order not to lose our momentum.
Also, I'm going to update our tracking document, so that you can note your purchases before the next scenario there.
Have a good day!
Aldus the Supplicant |
Thanks for the circlet suggestion, Dwozer. Too bad I can't buy it just yet =(
I'll go easy on the post-scenario shopping spree this time and just get a masterwork armour. Tracking document, character sheet updated and chronicle corrected (download link)
Rolling for day job:
Perform(oratory): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Dolgarth |
Sorry, it's taking a bit. I tried Acrobat Reader DC, but it didn't work on my computer. I was thinking of trying it on a work computer, but perhaps you could send me a sheet that can be edited via Google Drawings? That would speed things up nicely.
Aldus the Supplicant |
In case you're on os x you can always use good ol' preview for filling in the sheet with Tools > Annotate > Text
Dwozer Zaden |
Dolgarth,
Reader DC can do that, via the <Fill & Sign> function. Tutorial is here.
All,
I'm having trouble fitting both the party's needs and the Eldritch Knight plan, so going to completely rebuild him instead. And since I'm doing that, I might go cleric instead.
Dwozer Zaden |
Is that a shift you're going to be happy with? I hate for you to have to play a character you're not into.
Totally. I'll still get to play the EK on a different character number. The current question is whether to make you guys play with Gandros Skytower. I've been wanting to create the NPC from #13: Prince of Augustana for awhile now.
Nebraska Jones |
Had to look it up. Sounds hilarious! Our characters will likely believe Gadros and support his claim too.
Dolgarth |
There we go! Chronicle should be ready and viewable here. I didn't make any PP purchases, so if anyone could use something, just ask. I may end up buying things once I finalize my build, I'm having second thought about some aspects of it. Mostly whether I'll be more of a tank fighter or have higher damage, but I think I found a way to balance the two, which complements the character well.
Jakwin Howell |
Food for thought, Dolgarth. Jak will lean a bit towards the damage-dealing side of things. Once he picks up Power Attack (at level 3), he'll be fighting almost exclusively 2-handed; and I may pick up a level of fighter or barbarian to gain some weapon proficiences.
Not that I want to be the "damage dealer", but I certainly won't be able to be a good tank.
Dolgarth |
Yeah, my new idea involves him being a sword-and-board two-weapon ranger. It's a class change, but he still does the same stuff, albeit with less bonus feats.
But on the plus side, he can smack people with his shield and yell, "Silence, knave!"
Gandros Skytower |
Looks like we'll be investing in a Bag of Holding full of Divine scrolls. :D
There's a decent chance that my next two feats will be Skill Focus (Use Magic Device) and Magical Aptitude, for just that reason. We're going to need some serious UMD checks at later levels for scrolls like breath of life and heal.
GM Giuseppe |
Gandros, I would like to have a background and a personality from you before we can begin. I know it's PFS, and usually PFS does not demand that, but this is the way we're doing here :D
Gandros Skytower |
Nebraska already linked to it, but here it is again. There will be some adjustments though. For example, I'm going to give him an imaginary fey friend. Among other things, Gandros will think the fey is the one casting the spells.
Jakwin Howell |
Also, Giuseppe requested we put some stats into some of the stat-lines in a specific format. (These are Jak's stats, obviously you'll need to replace with your own)
Race entry field:
| HP 14/14 | AC 16 (12 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +3, CMD 15 | Fort. +2, Ref. +4, Will +2 | Init. +6 | Perc. +3, Sense Motive -1
class / Levels entry field:
| Speed 30ft | Performance: 6/6 | Spells: 1st 2/2 | Active conditions: none, shield stowed
Gender entry field:
CG Male Human (Taldan) Bard1
GM Giuseppe |

Oh, sorry, I completely missed that post. Could you please copy/past everything in your profile for ease of reference?
GM Giuseppe |
OK, I think we're ready to go now. You just need to finalize your purchases using the tracking document linked above and then I'll post the introduction.

So, you'll be pretty much writing reams of fanfic about clerics in your downtime, right?

Lol, so let me get this straight. So far we're a band of aspiring entrepreneurs looking to establish the traveling bar and spa known as the Thunderbucket, the sole supporters of a delusional claim to royalty, contributing members in the underground world of Divine Magic fan fiction, and perhaps an indie band too?
Sheet up dated GM.
... also I've been contemplating Arcane Trickster...
Aldus the Supplicant |
I'm sure we could host divine magic fanfic reading nights at Thunderbucket.
@Giuseppe: sheet updated.
@Jak: I noticed you sold your longsword for 7.5gp. Probably won't make a difference, but I think we can still sell stuff for full price due to retraining, no?
