Man.. I have been wracking my brain to figure out what I want to buy for my character. Hrm.. I guess 2 alchemist fire in case of swarms, and another potion of cure light wounds. Perhaps a partially charged wand of Enlarge Person? Also a scroll of Protection from Evil and a Potion of Expedious Retreat.

2 Alch Fire – 40 gold
Potion of Cure Light Wounds -50 gold
10 charge wand of Enlarge Person -150 gold
Scroll of Protection from Evil -25 gold
Scroll of Expedious Retreat -25 gold

Total: 290 in GP

I guess I’ll go with that. I'm ready.

That is an expensive scroll and a one shot. It will do 3d6, Reflex save to avoid and last three rounds. You might fail to get it off and if you do, the target might avoid it some of the time. Advantage is that once you cast it you can do something else for two rounds, and keep it on the enemy with your move action. On average I'd say this will do about 21 points of damage (average damage but assume one successful save)

A partially charged want of Magic Missile will do more damage over the long hall. You get 20 charges for the the same price. They never miss. And average damage from the wand's charges is 50 points. If partially charged wands are available, you should consider a few different spells. But I'd stay away from the ones that allow saves. I love Obscuring Mist, Comprehend Language, and Grease (Yes I know its allows a save, but still creates terrain even if they make the save).

Yep. Not sure you can get an assist with a perception roll Moira. I think you either hear it or not.


Pretty sure you can't aid another on perception, also it's an aural perception check and I don't think it's realistic to help someone hear something.

It's not that important of a check anyways and you'll find out what it pertains to soon enough.

Ok, so excluding the potions and gem we found the following during our expedition:

    So this is what I would recommend for gear breakdown. This can slow down parties so I figured we could just do it like this.

    - Travelers Any Tool (since it counts as MW thieves tools I think)

    I know that this is not totally fair, but I tried to distribute each item based on who could get the most use out of it while still keeping it fair. Is everyone agreed? Moria, when you sell your normal thieves tools, give the cut of profits back to the rest of the group since you get the traveler's any tool, fair?

    The Earth Elemental stone is valued at 2250 gold, but its a one shot summons, summoning a large Earth Elemental for 9 rounds - that is less than a minute and is going to perform some function for the party. It would not be reasonable to assign that value as loot to someone when it really a party asset.

    At second level a Lore Warden gains Combat Expertise as a bonus feat, plus then pick a feat. Justified is picking Improved Trip. He also picks up 6 more skill points, 2 of which must be spent in knowledge skills or Linguistics (He is taking Dungeoneering and Engineering).

    I agree that it is more of a party resource, but someone has to hold it. We could always sell it, but then again a Large Earth Elemental has 2 attacks at +14 with 2d6 + 7 damage and power attack as well as bonuses against people that are touching the ground. It could easily turn a *very* hard fight towards our advantage.

    There's no real timeline for what you need to do. You should check in with Lavinia (not that she has much to add) and try to track down the Lotus Dragon gang (gather information diplomacy checks).

    Morning guys, I have been saving some of my gold and I am going to make some purchases. Lets get what we want up in the thread so we can plan things out. Personally I feel like a group Wand of Cure Light Wounds would be an excellent buy. At 750gp it would cost 187.5gp per person, but it would be worth the funds. Aside from that I want to buy the following gear.

    Ignius's current gold: 1041 gp

  • 1/4 Share for Wand of Cure Light Wounds - 185.5 gp
  • Sleeves of Many Garments - 200 gp
  • Dusty Rose Prism (Cracked) Ioun Stone - 500 gp
  • Spring-Loaded Wrist Sheath x2 - 10 gp
  • Potion of Feather Step x1 - 50 gp
  • Wand of Shield 10 charges - 150 gp

    Total: 1045 GP (slightly over my total ammount, but considering that Moria is selling off her tools, it should cover it.

    I was reading the Traveler's Any Tool and part of the description states The any-tool counts as a set of masterwork artisan's tools for most Craft or Profession skills

    Detecting and disarming traps is not a part of craft and profession skills so this item can not be used for thieving skills as to these abilities require more than 1 too. So I will be keeping the MW Thieves toolkit. I will be selling off my old leather armor now that Moira has MW leather.

    Moira's current gold is 859 (remember, she entered the game with no gold)

    • 1/4 Share for Wand of Cure Light Wounds - 186 gp
    • MW Rapier - 320 gp

    Remaining gold is 353 gp

    Hmm. A potion of Vanish would only last a single round...

    I have 580 gold, before the wand purchase and can loan you some Ignius.

    Not sure what I will do with my gold. Armor and main weapon are master work already.

    For a fighter? Hrm, Oh, smoke goggles? They are cheep and help prevent gaze attacks. Perhaps a potion of magic weapon? Get a back up silver weapon or some weapon blanch. There is also an item that renders your weapon immune to descrution from oozes and rust monsters temportarly that is cheep. Get a blance for cold iron as well. That will allow you to stay in the fight. Aside from that, save your cash. Get a ring of protection as soon as you can or a weapon enchant.

    Will look into some of that. Not a fan of blanches for weapons (better for ammo as they can be done in advance). Not practical to apply them in a fight and they are only good for one hit. I'll just get a silver weapon. Already have a cold iron flail.

    When I have the gold I'll get a MW strength bow. And of course when I have 2000.00 extra gold I'll enchant my weapon. But that is a low priority for me as I can power through the lower DR we are likely to face. For now I could get a scroll or two of Magic Weapon for you to cast for me. OIl of Bless weapon is better than a potion of magic weapon, is it not?

    If your going to buy a scroll, I would instead buy a partially charged wand that I could use. You would get more uses out of it. Oil of Bless Weapon would I think allow it to bypass DR from evil creatures. I'm not an expert.
