"Look out!!" Tamarie shouts as instinctively she releases her arrow, not even knowing what this creature is or can do. She trusts her elven instincts to guide her arrow, as it strikes true.
Atk: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 = 26>1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
"Malik, you okay? What is this, Olik?" she shouts nervously, while looking around her for more of these creatures.
I don't like invisible things.

![]() |

Haha! No Knowledge: Religion!
Malik steps back from the shadow, clutching at his holy symbol. "By the Eternal!" he says, and tries to cast a spell.
Cast Shield of Faith, AC becomes 20, and Touch AC 14

GM Dak |

It is incorporeal so normal weapons will not harm it. As it injuries it's foes it saps the strength right out of them.

![]() |

Seeing its attack pass through Malik and Tam's attack pass through it, Jirani swipes at it cautiously with his ranseur. "Is it an illusion?!"
2H attack, buckler equipped, fighting defensively, combat expertise: 1d20 + 5 - 1 - 4 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 1 - 4 - 1 = 12
AC is +3 dodge bonuses = 20; T 15; F 15

"A thing of shadow and death. Only magic or the Eternals blessing will aid us here. Beware it's touch, it can drain the very strength from you."
The bard withdraws a small vial from a pouch on his belt and holds it out. "Jirani, put this on your blade."
Oil of Magic Weapon. Not sure of the rules logistics of applying an oil to someone elses weapon so I'll assume I need to hand it over. Guessing Move Action to retrieve it and move/standard to hand it over?

GM Dak |

Hrm.. I'm not sure if you can aid an attack against an incorporeal creature since it wouldn't be threatened by normal weapons however, I'm not sure the rules are that specific so I don't have a problem with aid another here. As to the Oil yes I would say move, move. Also just to note incorporeal creatures attack on touch AC not armor AC
Jirani attempts to attack at the creature, but similarly the weapon simply passes through it.
The creature moves up to Malik and continues its assault.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
The shadowy claws pass through Malik once again only leaving behind a chill.
Round 2

Dak is there an updated map?
Singing a song of life and vigor Olik summons a glimmering light about his hand and reaches out towards the creature with it.

The fluttering shadow draws back from the attack, avoiding the magic.

Malik, still clutching his holy symbol, begins to glow, the light washing from him over the Pathfinders and the Shadow. "Ugly thing of darkness! Wither in the gaze of The Eternal!" he says in an echoing voice.
Channel to harm Undead, DC 13 Will half.
1d6 ⇒ 1

Tam greabs her dagger, and tries to distract the creature so that Malik will get a clean shot in.
The horror can be read on her face as she closes the creature.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

GM Dak |

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Malik fills the room with a warm light that radiates from him. It washes over the sadow that recoils for a moment, but then does not seem effected. Tam attempts to distract the thing, showing obvious signs of fear but still trying her best. Her work seems to distract the creature but still not enough for Olik to touch the thing with his positive energy. Jirani works diligently to apply the oil to his weapon getting it coated for his next attack.
The shadow strikes out at Malik once again, obviously aware of the threat he posses.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
5 Str damage (equates to a -2 on Str based checks)
This time the creatures reaches deep within Malik and seems to grab at something in side. As he pulls Malik looks noticeablly weaker.
Round 3

Don't forget about +2 from aid (-> Malik) and possible flanking lads! We're going to need it.
Tamarie holds her breath, closes her eyes for a few seconds and weaves in between the creature and the wall, trying to get behind it. When she reaches the spot, she feels dizzy but continues to hack at the creature.
SHe tries to get its attention away from Malik.
"Look at my, you ugly thing! Your foul essence should have been destroyed a long time ago. Leave us, or perish!"
Aid on attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 = 24

With the oil of magic weapon applied, Jirani replaces his grip and jabs at the shadowy creature.
2H power attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 1 - 1 = 21
Damage: 2d4 + 4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 + 3 + 1 = 13

GM Dak |

Tam I will just apply the +2 as needed since you can technically be aiding multiple people with you all being around the thing attacikng.
Olik reaches out once again able to touch the creature with Tam providing a distraction. The creatures hisses in pain as the positive energy flows into it. Jirani uses the opportunity to strike out with his weapon and slices through the creature, the weapon seeming to tear into it a bit, but not as much as would have been expected with the power Jirani put behind it. The creature still stands.
Just need Malik before it goes again.

GM Dak |

Malik moves away after the debilitating hit from the shadow.
AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Once a little further away he channels again letting th positive energy wash over everyone.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 6
As the energy washes over the shadow it begins to dissipate until eventually it vanishes into nothingness leaving behind a lapis lazuli gem.
Out of combat

![]() |

"Seems we're gaining quite the collection. As for the oil, it's no trouble, though it was the only one I had so we'll not be repeating that trick any time soon."
Turning he looks at Malik with a bit of concern, "Aye the shadow sapped his strength I believe. Not much to be done for it now however. Shall we press on?"

GM Dak |

Malik moves a little slower than before but you make your way down the hall. It leads to an sealed door. Checking the door it opens but you sense it is likely to only open from this side. The door opens out to the upper level of the large hall you had previously fought the goblins in. It is a ten-foot-wide balcony ringing the room. An open archway leads to the southwest, and sealed stone doors lead to the the northwest.

![]() |

Jirani pats his bag, verifying that he has some rope in case they decide to climb down before letting the door shut.
He then indicates the southwest archway. "Continuing on? You okay, Malik?"
If no one stops him, he leads the way through the archway.

![]() |

Olik looks around for something to wedge in place and keep the door open.
"Jirani do you still have those pitons from back when we were escorting that diplomat?"

![]() |

"That's a good idea, but I'm afraid I left the tents back in Absalom. I thought we might just use a rope to lower ourselves to the ground here if we didn't find another exit beyond the archway."

GM Dak |

You head down the stairs that switch back and then open into another hallway. Looking down the hallway you see a framework of old timbers shores up this hallway’s cracked and uneven ceiling. From the west comes the sound of falling water. In the middle of the hall, a large stone block lies on top of the corpse of a crushed goblin.

![]() |

"Ah goblin engineering at it's finest!"
Before he can say much more though Olik pauses and cocks his head as if listening to something. After a moment he quietly waves the group back up the steps.
Once back on the balcony overlooking the large room the source of his distraction becomes clear. There below checking the goblin bodies are a pair of travelers, one clearly dwarven.
Olik gives a shrug in response to the silent question they all share.

![]() |

Once he sees his companions in spread out and in position with bow, bombs and magic Olik steps out from behind a column and calls out,
"So fancy meeting you lot here. Can we help you find something?"

![]() |

Batah is surprised by the sudden appearance of this group.
"Ah, well met. I am Batah ibn Abbala, priest and warrior of the Dawnflower, Sarenrae."
With a swirl of his robes, the middle aged Qadiran man bows to the group.

![]() |

Jirani follows the bard back up the steps. When they enter the large room, he begins to quietly discuss the plan. "That block might've been a trap that the goblin triggered. We sh-" Oh!" Following their lead, he spreads out along the raised walkway. "Hm. A Qadiran! He'll probably tell us he has a 3000-year old deed to these Halls, and now we owe him back-taxes!"

![]() |

"Well met indeed Batah ibn Abbala. I'm known as Olik Vogenson. My friends and I are wondering what brings a follower of the Dawnflower into this dimly lit hall?"

![]() |

"Like you, I was dispatched by the Society to divine the nature of this ruin and perhaps breach the Door of Seven Stars. I was also tasked to deliver this letter to Salador and Malik. They are to return to the societies stronghold for new orders."
Batah looks over the rest of the group and smile.
"And besides, who else but a follower of light would you want in these dark halls!"

![]() |

"Ha, I can't argue with that! From the Lodge eh? Well the Dawnflower has lead you truly. Salador, Malik...our new friend says he has messages for you."
Taking out a rope Olik ties it off and lowers it to the two new comers.
"We've done Gorums work in this area but it's by no means secure. Mind yourselves, we've run afoul of goblins and undead so far."
