"JIRANIIIII!!" Tamarie screams, as she is searching for her next arrow. She realises too late the arrow has already been released, and penetrates yet another goblin eyeball.
Damn it man, why didn't you hide behind the shield and bottleneck them?

Slighlty calmed down, she gestures to the Salador.
"You ready? Jirani needs your steady aim."

The aim is the one dead ahead, 6 squares down from where Tamarie is at. Damned bowman goblins brought down Jirani, and they'll pay for it!

Seeing Jirani fall Olik slashes at the goblin near him again and then advances into the room to keep the vile creatures away from his fallen friend.

Swing and a miss again. Going to provoke from the one near him at the start of his move. I believe the rest have bows out however.

Malik sees Jirani fall, and he advances down the corridor, his healing wand held ready. He whispers a prayer for Jirani.
Move forward and cast Stabilize. I know he's already stable, but Malik can't see that from where he is.

Salador moves to the corridor and hurls a bomb across the room giving an audible grunt at throwing it.

Sal moves into the hallway with everyone else. Tossing a bomb it explodes on the goblin, it's charred and bloddy remains falling to the floor.

The shrapnel from the bomb knocks out the nearby goblin as well.

Olike moves up, the goblin near him swinging and missing. He goes to attack the one close to Jirani but can't quite connect. With it distracted trying to avoid Olik, an arrow flies through and sticks the goblin dropping it to the floor. The remaining goblin panics and runs for the stairs.

When the goblin falls Olik scans the room for other enemies. Seeing none he moves to where Malik is tending Jirani.
"Here let me aid you."
Placing a hand on Jiranis chest he sings a brief melody after which the warriors wounds can be seen closing.

Jirani gets up slowly and counts the dead goblins. "Heh. I see my decoy tactic worked. Thanks for the healing. They have anything interesting?" He goes back to retrieve his ranseur while the others search the bodies.

"Ha! It did at that!" the Ulfen laughs as he gives Jirani a hand standing up. Once he's sure that the fighter is stable enough on his feet and that Salador seems well enough, he goes about searching the goblins and the area in general.

Checking the goblins you find little more than their bows, arrows, dogslicers and leather armor. However, one of the archers does have a pouch with 60 gold, a potion, and a gold ring with an emerald.
Getting a better look at the room, you see there are stairs heading down on the southeast wall. At the south corner of this hall stands a large stone door. Seven thumb-sized sockets are embedded in the door, arranged in a ring around a starburst design. This looks very much like the door from the tapestry.

Salador takes the top off the potion he finds and lightly wets the tip of his finger. He then smells and tastes the liguid.
alchemy check on potion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Holding out the ring to the others he asks,
Can anyone do a magic check on this to see if it has any properties that could aid us?
He also holds out the coins so the others can divide as they see fit. A strange look coming to his face.
I am no thief

That's why I thought I was missing something! :)
"Let's leave the brazier where it is for now. No point letting anyone know someone's taking an interest in the door after all these years." Jirani traces a finger around one of the thumb-sized holes, then looks back at the ring Salador found. "How big is that emerald?" He shrugs. "Jharun thought each point corresponded to a color, but a color of what? Maybe gemstones?"

Tamarie helps to loot the corpses and try to find anything interesting. After this she steals some arrows from Olik when he isn't looking, and maintains a perimeter watch.
"Potions of healing, always useful." is all she says, as she tries to assess the combat readiness of Salador and Jirani.
Hope they don't get the jitters. Would hate to see them go.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Kneeling over one of the goblin corpses Olik feels the quiver on his back shuffle a bit and lighten. Glancing back out of the corner of his eye he chuckles a bit as Tamarie pads off quietly to take a guard position.
Afterwards he walks up an inspects the door with Jirani. "Perhaps gemstones." He agrees. "The size would be about right."
The bard holds up the ring to see if the gem on it is large enough to fit in one of the sockets before flipping it to Malik so he can check it for magic.
"While the door is intriguing we should probably see to the stairs down before getting too comfortable. If there are goblins here then I imagine there are more below."

![]() |

"If we still have some healing available, we can certainly continue. I did expect that if more goblins were within earshot, these ones would have called for them."
"If the emerald fits the door, I wonder where this goblin found it. Did some ill-fated explorer bring it to him? Or did he find it in the depths of these ruins whence the Zog goblins emerged?"

![]() |

"I'm with you, Olik. Lead the way, and I'll keep your chubby body safe." Tamarie says jokingly.
As Malik mentions the ring, she replies: "Damn shame. Looked expensive, but if it's got magical properties... Prices go up real fast on those things, and arrows aren't cheap."
She winks at Olik if he hears this last part.

![]() |

Tamarie nods, and makes sure her gear is tightly secured before venturing forth.
"Get about 20 feet behind me, when I whistle, okay? I don't completely have keen eyes in the dark, like them dwarves."
She looks at Olik one last time, then heads off into the darkness.

I'm sure we'll need a rope to cross anyway, but how wide is the pit?
"Better you than me, in that instance." Jirani peeks down the pit. "Not as cozy as my well back home, but all this space would definitely make it easier to entertain. Lower a rope and let's see if he had anything worth borrowing?"
