Entering the hallway you see a large room. The lower portion of this chamber is a pool of still, green water. Large rectangular columns support a series of shallow stone steps and landings, climbing from the southern part of the chamber toward a rough, recently excavated tunnel to the north.

"Let's smoke them out." Virgil grinds the contents of the little paper tube between his fingers and throws it up to the platform above.

Sorry. Been constantly busy at work lately, and too tired to do much when I'd get home.
As Virgil draws back to throw his bomb, Jirani takes off running up the stairs.
I'm guessing Jirani could only move 30' before they get a turn. Are the darker blocks columns that provide cover?

Tamarie creeps forward, ever so slightly, untill she has a perfect clear shot. She waits to release the arrow while holding her breath, and... Finds nobody in the other room.
No bad guys there? On my map, I see nothing :)

GM Dak |

Map updated. I put you where you would actually start at the beginning of the round when Virgil tosses his bomb. You can move accordingly, please do so ASAP so we are all in the right place for Round 2.
Virgil since you couldn't really see where you were throwing and just estimating based on the sound I am randomizing where it goes with a % change to get in the middle of them.
1d100 ⇒ 8
1d6 ⇒ 4
As the others are rushing up the stairs and Virgil tosses his bomb you hear an explosion and shrieks and what sounds like cursing in an unknown tongue.

I moved Jirani again as described in previous post (though only 20' since I'd forgotten his encumberance). Did we have the surprise round that we could move in before Virgil threw his bomb, or did the surprise round only consist of his throw (and we're all at the bottom of the stairs at the beginning of round 1?

GM Dak |

You had the surprise round while he was throwing the bomb. I assumed you all would have moved in a little bit while percieving, talking, etc before he actually decided to toss it up there. That is why I said move yourself from where I placed you on the map.

Olik pushes forward quickly in the wake of Virgils explosive and takes shelter behind one of the larger columns. Sword at the ready he prepares to strike at any foes who come in range.
Move up, prepare an action to attack any foe that moves adjacent.

Can we see/shoot through the green area to the right?
Tamarie follows Olik, but stays a few paces back like her big brother has instructed her. She aims carefully, and will release her arrow at the first goblin that moves closer to Olik, in a threatening way.

![]() |

Jirani weaves through the columns and starts up the stairs until he sees one of the enemies. "More goblins!"
I think with his ranseur, Jirani should threaten the one on the upper-left for an AoO, unless he has partial cover.

GM Dak |

Tam let's loose a shot putting down another goblin as the others rush up the stairs. The final goblin, seeing their approach and his companions laying their dead, bolts for the tunnel and disappears around the bend.

GM Dak |

Heading into the rough cut tunnel you can hear noises up ahead. You spot the goblin for a moment, but not before he goes around a corner and disappears from sight again.

Entering this room you see Thick, square columns support the low ceiling of this natural cavern, but the walls remain uneven hewn stone and the floor is only partially paved. Rough tunnels and unfinished walls extend for some distance. Tattered furs, foul-looking bedrolls, sacks of food, and battered old crates and casks are scattered around in an improvised campsite. Across the room you see the goblin moving toward the next tunnel.
As you chase after him and get into the room, Jirani and Olik seem to notice something, but just before they say anything the goblins waiting in hiding attack.

The lead goblin steps back and begins casting once again. Just as she is about ready to finish Tam losses her arrow but it with the rock piller blocking some of her view it does not connect. Jirani feels magic wash over him.

She sspeaks in the Elven tongue: "Shoot the casting one, or clear a path for Jirani. What say you, big brother?"
Shoot the one in fron of Jirani, or ready for caster disruption. Olik's command is her choice.

GM Dak |

As Olik provides his advice the goblin in the rear begins to cast a spell and Tam releases her shot and hit connects.
