Mugmuff observes the looting... looks with barely disguised disdain at Ripnugget's claims.. then joins the looting half-heartedly, keeping his eyes out for that knight or any other surviving longshanks slinking about the area.

Most of the gear was destroyed in the various explosions and devastation caused by the fire-flingers, however the industrious goblins do manage to recover 86gp and 142sp in loose coin on the bodies littered about the area, including goblins, before fist-fights with other goblins start to break out over who saw the corpse first.

Gobbo!

The wild goblins eventually come under control, which is to say they stop trying to kill each other long enough to procure armloads of loot and head back to the defensible positions within the city. All around you goblins can be seen dragging bodies with loot piled on them, some goblins wearing dresses that are obviously not their size, others struggling to move in human-sized armor. One goblin somehow managed to harness a pair of goblin dogs with rope and is being pulled on a shield, a long spear in its arms. Perhaps its a new version of jousting that is about to become all of the rage of goblin society.

As fires continue to consume the town, the goblins begin to make their way through the wealthier parts of Sandpoint, pressing onward to the harbor. Not far ahead its obvious that the longshanks have prepared to make their final stand, and if goblins could count that high, they'd know the forces gathered to be well over a hundred. Out in the harbor, ships are being loaded with refugees, several smaller vessels already heading out along the coast.

You have several targets you can work with at this point. Joining the frontal assault, sneaking around and trying to take out command operations in the rear, or finding a way to get onto the water and thwart the escape efforts.

Ok, first off, my deepest apologies on this taking so damn long. I've been severely challenged for free time the past two weeks and its hurt my ability to get stuff done like maps in the evenings. Work has also been hectic, which has been killing my posts! All that said, thanks for hanging in there.

Now we head to the dramatic conclusion of the invasion! Its do or die at this point for the longshanks. They've been pressed into a corner, the sea at their backs, and although the goblin forces have taken staggering losses, they still pose enough of a threat to the citizens that retreat is the only option.

The band of sneaky goblins creeps their way through the remaining homes and makes their way to the area holding the docks and some of the more ramshackle dwellings and boardinghouses. Forces of humans can be seen moving through the area, mostly clearing buildings and gathering supplies. Out in the harbor, ships laden with passengers make for the coast, heading south towards southern Varisia and the port cities beyond. Four large ships remain moored on the docks, quickly being loaded with supplies and non-combatants, as the remainder of Sandpoint's militia stands guard, hoping to make the last boat before the final press of the goblin attack strikes.

Looking towards the rough streets, the group sees several groups of soldiers, working to gather supplies and take them to the docks.

I've fogged much of the map, which is rather huge, but I'll reveal as we go. I don't want to spoil any surprises! :P

They are basically level with you all. I placed the soliders on the street so you had an idea of numbers. As they are moving around you would have had time to spot most of them. Understand there are a lot of places in this area you cannot get details on, so there are definitely more about.

It sounds like you are going on the offensive, and you have the advantage of surprise, so let me know what your first actions will be. If you are straight up attacking, you can each get a full round of actions before they have the ability to react.

Do some of them carry bows? If so, Gretcha will implant a vanish arrow ability into Mugmuff. That will allow him to, as an immediate action when he would be attacked by a ranged attack, activate it to use a Sleight of Hand check by Gretcha (+9 bonus) against the attacker's Perception. If successful, the arrow disappears from the attacker's grasp, causing the attack to automatically miss (and the attack is wasted), and the arrow appears on Gretcha's person. She will start keeping a collection of stolen arrows for the sake of her own ego. :)

After implanting Mugmuff with a suggestion, Gretcha will follow Torch forward and wait for the other gobs to catch up. Once everyone is in position, she will cast murderous command on the beefiest-looking longshank, causing him to attack one of his teammates. DC 16 Will negates

Torch has his priorities straight and sets the nearest building aflame, giggling maniacally.


Gobbo!

The goblins quickly scramble up one of the buildings as Torch giggles and sets fire to it from below, the flames slowly licking up the sides of the building and giving the sneaky gobbos some good motivation for not tarrying too long on the roof.

The longshanks on the other side of the building continue to work, dragging out sacks of food and other items from the building, obviously completely oblivious to not only the creeping goblins, but also the smoke wafting its way slowly skyward from the rear of the cluster of structures.

Gretcha, moving to get a look at one of the humans, waggles her fingers at the man and casts a spell, causing a look of confusion to pass over his face for a moment. He drops the box of apples he was holding, draws his longsword from his sheath, and steps towards one of his companions, but his clumsy attempt only leaves him looking like the fool as the sword comes down hard in the dirt, the other soldier looking at him with a wierd look for a moment. Scratching his head, the attacking soldier looks at the sword, then his friend, then back at the sword, before saying, rather bluntly, "There was a fly, I killed it."

Gretcha moves forward a bit more so as to catch as many of the longshanks as possible, then screams in such a high-pitched voice that it sears the eardrums of the enemies.

Casting blistering invective. Intimidate: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16. Any of the longshanks who are intimidated take Fire damage: 1d10 ⇒ 8 and need a Reflex save DC 15 or catch fire. Range is 30 feet so it will include the bottom 3 longshanks.

Nurpus climbs to the top of the house and lies prone, taking aim but waiting for the others to act before Purpus alerts everyone and everything to their presence.

@Gretcha - The walls nearby are blocking line of sight and line of effect for all but 2 of the soldiers, so that is the most you'd be able to catch with the spell from your current position.

@Kovak - You climbed the building, so you aren't anywhere near Gretcha at the moment. I'm going to assume you cast from your location.

Gretcha steps out from the cover, launching a spell at the enemies as she castigates them for their misdeeds in goblin. Both of the men she can see instantly burst into flame, the spell tearing at their bodies. One actually catches on fire, the flames on him continuing to burn. Kovak launches a spell of his own at one of the men, who partially manages to shake off the deafening scream that only he can hear. Bart, from his high perch, tosses a javelin at one of the soldiers, the shot hitting the man in the top of the head and ringing his bell. Torch snickers to himself as the flames on the building grow higher, quickly consuming the wooden structure...

The guards, caught off guard, quickly shout out an alert, "Goblins! Goblins in the docks! Get the civilians to the boats!" and they begin to form up in defense of the last portion of the town not on fire or seized by goblin forces.

Caught in a fit of pyromania, Torch continues to move forward, burning as he goes, without regard to where his companions are.

Going to bot Nurpus this round.

Torch dances merrily through the narrow alleys, burning anything he comes in contact with. Behind him, a trail of fire begins to spread, and smoke starts to rise high into the air, drawing sounds of alarm from further along the docks. Kovak scoots around behind the longshanks, preparing to come at them from behind as Mugmuff slowly approaches the edge of the roof, still unseen by the humans. Bart leaps in the midst of the humans, calling upon dark forces to channel negative energy all around him. The humans and goblins alike feel the pain as the unliving forces rip at their essence and pull at their very life force. Grectha starts to clamber up the building, only to slip and fall, landing in a pile of mud. Nurpus levels his weapon and fires at one of the longshanks, blasting the man and wounding him severely.

The human forces are quick to react, rushing towards Bart, their weapons at the ready. One steps within range of the goblin's hammer and gets his bell rung by Bart, the attack glancing mostly off of the man's helmet. One of the longshanks manages a lucky blow against the goblin, but Bart merely grins back at the man, his eyes wild. One of the soldiers strikes at Kovak but his blow is clumsy and the goblin quickly parries the attack. Another soldier, seeing the goblin setting fire to a building, rushes south towards Torch, but fails to connect with his attack.

Bart takes 5 damage, ON THE HEAD! :)
Kovak takes 2 damage from the channel negative

With her lack of climbing ability, Gretcha simply stands up and walks around the buildings away from the longshanks. Move to stand, move to walk around.

Mugmuff drops down from the roof into flank position and attacks the human to the north with an almost silent cackle of glee.

Mugmuff and Kovak both sheath their blades in the body of one of the soldiers, blood spraying into the air as each of their attacks lands on an artery, killing the man outright. After the attack Mugmuff immediately vanishes, something he hasn't done before, which causes the other goblins to look around, a bit confused by the sudden disappearing act. Bart raises his hammer high, clubbing another longshanks soldier like a baby seal, hitting him so hard the man's skull actually sinks down between his shoulders somewhat. Quite dead, his body quickly falls to the ground. Torch takes a swing at the longshanks soldier that attacked him, but the torch in his hand fails to connect, instead thumping into the side of the building and sending sparks and flames flying across the dry wood, which quickly ignites, and puts a happy smile on the goblin's face.

The soldier next to Bart takes another swing at the goblin's head, the man's tongue thrust from the side of his mouth as he lines up the attack. The attack is poor aimed however, and the goblin quickly ducks what would have otherwise have been a solid strike to his noggin. The other man tries to move up next to his companion, but instead runs into an invisible Mugmuff, still standing where he vanished. Frustrated, the soldier makes a wild swing at the empty air in front of him, but the attack only catches air. To the south, the human attacking Torch continues his assault, but his skill with a blade seems to be poor, and he is unable to get close to hitting the swifter goblin. From the docks, the sounds of boots can be heard as reinforcements quickly approach the burning buildings and sounds of combat.

Gobs are up! Longshanks incoming!
