Hatch does know how to get in as well, although he usually is invisible. Yes, you'd walk up and ask to be let in. And you'll have Hatch and Nadya. I will make sure foes are at the proper CR for the current group size, don't worry!

Chiquq |

Post coming Sunday evening. I need to sit down and re-read what our actual plan is, I know we're trying to disguise and so forth with the scrolls and the wardrobe awesomeness but I could just a refresher before trying to weigh in ICly.

GM Axolotl |

You have, let's see:
Volan's information about various traps and inhabitants
Also, you know you need to flash a mirror about--now, and imitate Volan when reaching the 'ice wall' gate.
Hatch has given you the passwords and will accompany you to the first floor.
Nadya will accompany you the entire way.
DON'T PANIC

Dezső |

Thanks for the recap, Axolotl. And have a great time, Yrja! I'll try to post later today...

Dezső |

How cold is it today? If he doesn't need to use endure elements, I would rather have Dez prepare another, more combat helpful, extract...

GM Axolotl |

It's cold every day in Irrisen. Colder than a polar bear's toenails. ICE COLD
However, how many potions do you have in your loot?

Dezső |

Volan said "The teleporters are passworded; only the guards know the passwords." I guess these are the teleporters and Hatch is supposed to know the passwords. He also said "On the second floor, also some sculptures that guard the mirrored hall and the teleporter. Again there are passwords. They will not attack if you have the password." This seems to match the description where we are, but it isn't the second floor.
Did we even decide where we are going?

GM Axolotl |

Let's say that Hatch has told you that the teleporters are in this entrance hall--they are off to the far sides of the room on either side. You can't see them just yet due to your field of vision. Also, Hatch will not accompany you past the first floor (he's too chicken)

Dezső |

I guess he told Nadya the passwords for the second floor teleporters? I assume Nadya has in mind where she wants to go? I know it's funny to have the NPC lead, but Dez kind of feels like she's leading this expedition and has some idea where to look for the prisoners (which, as I recall, is the main objective)...

GM Axolotl |

You all know all the passwords, not just Nadya, and I think Hatch had an idea that the prisoners were kept higher in the Tower.
Yeah, Nadya is a recurring NPC and will continue on with the group in the next module. I mean, if you survive. Mua haha ha ha ha! Ha.

GM Axolotl |

Speaking of the next module, etc:
a. I'm not worried about y'all completing the Pale Tower. I know it seems daunting with 3 PCs.
b. Storming the Tower is essentially the end of the module, save for some loose ends. I'll recruit after that for a position or two; if you know someone you'd like to recommend, let me know.

GM Axolotl |

^ this being said, I'm wondering if recruiting at least for a divine caster right now would help give the game a shot in the arm. What do you say?

Chiquq |

I wouldn't mind fresh blood, but what's going on with Caelum and Imendri? In a player sense, not in an in-game sense. Caelum kind of just dropped off the grid entirely, Imendri indicated he was here reading along waiting to be rescued, etc, but if so he's been having to wait and wait on that front.
If we do recruit new players, I'd suggest we do it when we're dead ready for their characters to be introduced, so they don't have to wait in game for their debut, etc.
Also, I'm sorry I've been so slow. I feel I keep saying that, but I'll try and keep up better.

GM Axolotl |

In a player sense--Caelum's player got bogged down with real life; they got married and wedding planning and honeymoon made it difficult to focus on other stuff. Very reasonable. Imendri wanted to come back, but didn't reply to my last PM, so I'm gonna drop it. I know and love the two players in the real world dearly, but I don't want to show a preference for real-life friends at the expense of the game.
I will happily have new players jump in with swords swinging inside the Tower. I have god powers! :D Any time will work.
As for your slowness--please don't apologize. This is my fault as a GM. It has been on me to make sure that the group as a whole posts faster, and my allowing players to be in limbo before I muster up the gumption to remove them has no doubt had a dampening effect on the other more prolific posters. I will rectify that now!

GM Axolotl |

I made a new Recruitment thread, so if you know someone who's cool and interested, send them this way!

Dezső |

Cool. I hope it's ok I threw in my two cents! I do think we need someone melee focused.

GM Axolotl |

I think that's absolutely fine and I encourage it! You all meshing with the other characters/players matters a lot.

GM Axolotl |

One thing I'd like to ask of current players is: please express your opinions about applicants in private messages, not in the thread. I don't want anyone to feel bad about the application process. Thank you! :)

GM Axolotl |

Looks like submissions have slowed down; I’ll move towards wrapping this up. PM me your thoughts if you can!

Ogon Magehunter |

All the goblinoids!
Thank you for my selection - once I get de-popsicled I'll actually do something to demonstrate my gratitude. Anything in particular? As long as it involves FIRE I'm flexible :)

GM Axolotl |

Welcome, O-folks! If you don't mind putting a little stat summary for your character in the Race field (or another field) a la the other characters, that would be greeat!
Orik, I'll figure out where to stash you via PM! Ogon, I already have a spot lined up for you that is thematically apropos. :)

GM Axolotl |

At first I was going to say "thanks for finding the campaign thread, since it wasn't linked to the new recruitment thread," but then I remembered I put the link in the new thread as well. ;) Still, I could have done it again. Ok, time to start some melee!

Orik Rostov |

I'm going to make a few minor adjustments to Orik and include a potion that I forgot. Does anyone have any spell requests? But emember what grandpa Deathmonger said:
"There are only two tragedies in life: killing none of your enemies in a rain of blood, and the other is killing all of your enemies in a rain of blood."
Deep thougts to ponder while you wait!

Chiquq |

Welcome, welcome. Glad to have you all aboard. We're light on heals but at this level you're not going to have a whole lot to try and bring there yourself, so just go with whatever works for you. :)

Ogon Magehunter |

Nice to be playing with you again Dien.
Bit different from the sunny sands of Osirion isn't it? :)

Orik Rostov |

Nice to meet you, Ogon-who-is-also-captured.
It'll be a while before you see Orik, and I'll take my own initiative regarding most of my buffs/actions, but is there anyone who is more likely to want to get my enlarge person buffs? Similarly, is there anyone who never wants to be enlarged? I can target any creature as long as they're part of my varisian pilgrim caravan (this includes animals, etc.).
I don't want to presume how everyone's characters work.

Chiquq |

Enlarge won't really work for me generally as I'm usually ranged, thanks for asking. :) Though sometimes I do have to switch to melee; if you have nothing else to do in a round you can enlarge me if I'm using my spear.

Ogon Magehunter |

I'll definitely take Enlarge since I am a. a heavy armour tank and b. exclusively melee (can't use ranged kinetic blasts, only swords and whips) so I'd very much like enlarging. Heck- I'd take it permanently if we ever get to the point where someone can cast that! :)

Orik Rostov |

Good to know, the nice thing is that I can do it quickly and on a whim, so I should be able to do it at appropriate times. It'll likely never be permanent but I can do it a lot every day.

Dezső |

Ogon definitely should be first choice for enlarging. It's not ideal for Dezső because he's a DEX-based fighter, although he would benefit from the increased damage from a larger weapon and reach. I think you (Orik) and Ogon are the best candidates for enlarging.
