Really sorry that my posting has slowed down this past week guys. Between DOOM and Overwatch, I've been really distracted! I'm still in this though, and a big update post is coming later today, I guarantee it.
Perfectly understandable - I've been super busy with a project this month anyway so I know my posting rate has taken a hit.
for my improvement, gonna pick another move from someone else's playbook, picking the Battlebabe move "Merciless" (do +1 harm when you do harm), because you all are clearly picturing a Battlebabe under this helmet and these robes.
unless someone has a better idea for a move from another playbook?
I am planning on changing my playbook to Child-thing later, but how many improvements do i need before i can start picking below the line? and if i change my playbook, do i get a certain number of moves from the new playbook in addition to the ones i have?
never mind, looked that up from Chief's posts.
EDIT: some interesting question here, there is a move where i can eat minds, even that which belongs to another player, and if i do so i get Hx with them. So that tells me i dont eat the whole mind, maybe if i took that move i could eat some of what is messed up in Runner's mind?
I've been loving the idea of a brainer with merciless, makes all the brainer moves that deal harm super scary. Like NPCs could straight up die if you try in brain puppet strings and fail the roll.
you seek the advice of your mask. Roll+weird to see what it directs you to do.On a 10+ mark experience and take +1 forward if you do as your mask wishes. On a 7–9,take a +1 if you do what it wants and act under fire if you don’t. On a miss, it has its own agenda and act under fire if you don’t follow it.
I feel like it's a fitting move considering Vonya's reliance on his mask, and how Tom has appeared to evolve into his own personality via myself and Mooshy.
Also - I appear to already have some harm, did we get healed at some point or was that already applied? I cannae remember.
Volcano: Your Weird and Cool were highlighted. You're going to want to skim the gameplay thread and see how many times you've rolled on each of those stats.
Vonya: I think we got 1 harm patched up each, but I don't know whether your harm already includes that. If you're super bored you could read back through the whole thread and add it up...
when you have time and solitude with someone, they become fixated upon you. Roll+hot. On a 10+, hold 3. On a 7–9, hold 2. They can spend your hold, 1 for 1, by:
• Giving you something you want.
• Acting as your eyes and ears.
• Fighting to protect you.
• Doing something you tell them to.
For NPCs, while you have hold over them they can’t act against you. For PCs, instead, any time you like you can spend your hold, 1 for 1:
• They distract themselves with the thought of you. They’re acting under fire.
• They inspire themselves with the thought of you. They take +1 right now.
On a miss, they hold 2 over you, on the exact same terms.

re-iterating my question regarding eating certain parts of minds.
I had to think on that answer before I gave it, Pallor. Yes, I'll allow what you're thinking of doing as a form of therapy for Runner's mind, but it'll take some time, and a quiet space alone for you to complete the process. At least at first.
Runner has a traditional mental block/Dissociative Amnesia with a huge guilt wall hiding his past from him.
Mooshy hinted that he might have had a traumatic event as a child connected with the vault Runner just blew up so he might never find out now.
If you eat his brain just don't leave him a vegetable :)
Rules question: does one mark experience every time they attempt a move related to their highlighted stats, or only when they successfully use a related move?
Hey guys, side note unrelated to this campaign: I'm starting up a Dungeon World campaign on Roll20. Dungeon World is like Apocalypse World but geared more towards a fantasy setting. Unlike the play-by-post games I run, it'll be in real time and only held once a week for about 4-5 hours each session, so I'm going to make sure it doesn't interfere with any of my existing campaigns on these forums. I haven't settled on which night it will be happening yet but I know that it will happen between Monday night and Thursday night. I don't have the ability to do it on Friday-Sunday because that's when I have custody of my kid.
Just gauging interest from people that I know are good roleplayers and are familiar with the system.
The setting will be the city of Salt in Wounds, a setting that I found from a creative poster on Reddit. It's a city built inside the constantly-regenerating corpse of a "dead" Tarrasque. I'll be using information from the above link for city design, factions, and monsters, but the story will be homebrewed by me.
Hot s@&$ that sounds cool! As a GM in real-life for two Dungeon World games I'd be interested in getting involved. What timezone & time would this be taking place?
I'm CST, and I work M-F until 5 PM CST. I usually try to get an hour's workout in at the gym after work, so I'd prefer to start after 6 PM CST if I can make it work with everyone else.
Putting in a show of interest but the timing will probably be tough for me to match.
I am in Seattle (PST) and I usually get home at 7pm.
Mondays might be a little more open as I can get to a computer and stay online from 5PM PST until ???.
I also have a Roll20 account. Such a great platform to use.
I love the idea and thanks for thanks for the invite, but realistically i wont be able to make a session that has a specific time. the wife only lets me play SO MUCH "dnd" (it's all dnd to her)
Apologies for not updating last Friday, had a big slamma jamma of a day at work. I'm getting on top of it just now by today and I'll be posting an update later on in the day.
Really sorry guys, updating tomorrow. Had a compulsion to see my son tonight and spent all of my after work time with him. I just got home and I'm too tired to update. Hate missing update days, but I'll make it up to everybody.
I was on a 3 day weekend vacation yesterday. I'm trying to get caught up, but I've been struggling at work lately and it's killing my creative energy a little bit. Will post asap.
Hey all. Since you're all so patient with me (and I do very much appreciate that), I've made a decision.
Rather than half-ass this break and come back today, before I feel fully ready to, I'm taking the rest of the week off.
Updates will resume in full next Monday. I promise, I'll be fully 100% again by then, and my posts will continue as normal. Just need a bit of a break week to let my brain relax and re-gather some creative inspiration.
I'll be spending the free time this week reading, mostly, and collecting ideas that I can use in characterization, plot, and setting.
Hey all, just letting everyone know that I feel very refreshed and revitalized after taking a week away from the forums entirely. I've got a lot to catch up on, but I've begun working on just that, and I hope to have updated every campaign I'm part of by early afternoon. Thanks for your patience once again.
