Anyone know how to fix this?

Can I wish for three more wishes? :)

Seriously, this is my first wish and after reading the spell, I am not as excited as when I first read that we were granting the wish.

It sounds like wish would be great to have but it's very situational.

Could I 'wish' for scroll of wish?

Could I ask for a 'wish' to be triggered at a later time (a contingency wish if it were)?

Any suggestions?

WWDD?

Roll 20 Map

Sadly, you can't wish for a scroll of wish, or save it in any meaningful way (though you could wish for a Contingency spell - I think that's low enough level.)

It's a complex question, and I suspect folks are going for the stat bumps because it is tough. It's a great spell to have 'on hand', but you don't have that option in this case. Keep in mind, she can wait to grant it to. Someone could be disintegrated, and you could wish their body back so Kaylayne can raise it. There's also Kaylayne's suggestion of Word of Recall.

You'd have to come back here of course, but the Land of Black Blood is not so large...

That word of recall falls into the contingency spell that I was talking about.

I'll gamble and save the wish in case one of us gets into real trouble (death, insanity, etc.).

I'm gambling in that it's not me and that the shaitan remains alive. Of course, it may that we finish the mission here and I won't need it.

In that case, I'll wish to become even more handsome. :)

Typically phrased WWJD?- 'What Would Jesus Do?'

Just substituted 'Dimitrio' for 'Jesus', especially since you're discussing Resurrection.

But seriously, I think you should roll with whatever Dimitrio himself would do with a Wish, suddenly foisted upon him.

I do believe you should now be level 14.

Allarnon:
Your pouch has improved! It is now the equivalent of a bag of holding, type III. Its other properties remain the same.

Dimitrio:
Your ring has improved! In place of a scorching ray, the wearer can choose to create a flaming sphere. The effect takes the form of hollow rings of flame instead of a sphere, but otherwise functions as the spell.

Lief:
Your necklace has improved! The necklace acts as a necklace of fireballs (type IV) with a 9d6 sphere instead of the 8d6 sphere.

Wealday, 29 Lamashan, 4709
- The party wakes, separated by half a continent but safe and surrounded by elves. There is much to do, and little time to do it.
- Allarnon transports himself to the party! They gather their things, after another uncomfortable conversation, and depart Thorn’s End.
- It takes more than half a day, but the group eventually reaches Kyonin once again using the auidara gates.
- They meet Islwyn Hennion, who guides them to the Palace where they have an audience with the Queen of the elves.
- The party has supper with the Queen and Dimitrio starts in on their story. The Queen listens attentively and responds and a long conversation ensues revolving around the Queens 1/4 million gold offer.

Oathday, 30 Lamashan, 4709 - Sunday 2 Neth, 4709
- Some members of the group assist in research while the others perform additional tasks to prepare themselves for what’s to come.
- They meet again with the Queen, this time to plan and strategize for the coming task - destroy the runes.

Moonday, 3 Neth, 4709
- After several days of purchases and preparation, the group is ready to descend.
- They fly as mist, traveling as fast as magic permits, short of instantaneous, to their destination. The day passes quickly as they weave in and out of planned and researched passages finally arriving in a field of statues and Haitan Bhaq’s residence.
- The party encounters some sneaky drow, and finish them relatively quickly before descending into the earth to meet Haitan herself.
- Freed, she grants each person a wish and provides a wealth of information about the surrounding caves. Granting them, the party decides to rest here a while before proceeding.

Toilday, 4 Neth, 4709 - Wealday, 5 Neth, 4709
- Most of the first two days are spent in silence as the group moves across the black shale. They encounter nothing but stone, darkness, and silence as they travel unto the river.
- Bringing his light forth, Lief also summons some skum from the river’s edge. The party moves easily away from them along the slowly gurgling blood to the confluence that Haitan spoke of.
- Thanks to Ederin’s spell, the group covers the river without difficulty and continues on into the never-ending night.

Oathday, 6 Neth, 4709
- The party travels a while, starting to settle into their journey, when a giant purple-black worm rumbles into the sky above them and attacks! They vanquish it quickly, but not before it does an enormous amount of damage to the group and their gear.
- Healing up, the party travels the rest of the day in silence and darkness.

Fireday, 7 Neth, 4709 - Starday, 8 Neth, 4709
- Another day in the dark and the party finds themselves at the edge of a great lake facing the first of their challenges - a great glyph sparkling with electricity.
- The party works together as a team and pushes back the Roper, softens up the glyph, and Lief makes friends with it - ending it’s fury.

I also think Allarnon is too far away (30' radius on the spell I think, and Kaylayne is still 20' up) in addition to the noted Ederin.

Yeah, the spores were fairly nasty. A low save, so it didn't happen often, but save every round means a failure every now and again.

Spore Effect
- Hallucinations (the victim sees threats that are not there and reacts in a random manner, as if confused for the round)
- Nausea (the victim is nauseated for 1 round)
- Sickened (the victim is sickened for 1 round)
- Choking (the spores take root in the victim’s lungs and burrow into the flesh, causing 1d4 points of Constitution damage)

I rolled a '3' every time you guys failed. Lucky.

Even though he's trying to kill Dimitrio when I told him not to :), I wanted to recognize Euan as a very consistent GM who knows how to run excellent PBP games.

As someone who is sick of playing in games where the posting rates starts out great but soon decreases to diddlysquat and the GM does nothing about it, it's a breath of fresh air to play in a game where the GM is committed to moving the game along and actually telling a story.

I'm about to quit two of my games if the GM doesn't get things moving at a decent pace. :(

Is this a standard Pathfinder thing? It's not in the spell description, and I haven't played high level Pathfinder enough to have encountered this before.

It is listed under Water Walk, Communal but that's a lower level spell and not the one I'm casting.

I'm casting regular level 3 Water Walk. I didn't even know communal existed.

Last time we were planning on a long trek over the Black Blood Ederin was planning on using Kays 3rd level Pearl of Power.

Assuming she's still willing, that's about 280 minutes of water walk, I think that should cover the distance at a hustle (6 miles an hour).

Beautiful.

I'll give folks a little time to discuss other plans in character, and to let me know what spells are going as you approach the island (you'll know within a few hundred yards you're about to hit landfall from the sound of the surf).

Otherwise, we'll move on to landfall later tonight or early tomorrow real time. :D

Oh, you're departing land in the early morning, so plan buffs accordingly.

Well done!!

I think we can only hustle for one hour because we take non-lethal damage and become fatigued during the second hour and then we become exhausted. if do something that would otherwise make us fatigued.

However...

If we heal the non-lethal damage then we are no longer fatigued so Layne would cast mass CLW at the end of each hour and that should get us to the other side without becoming fatigued.

Is that too gimmicky?

You have lots of healing options, so someone tick off wand charges/castings/whatever combo works. Er. However...

280 minutes of water walk = almost 5 hours x 3 mph normal walking = 18 miles. One of those hours can be hustling with no penalty, so I'm going to rule no need to hustle long term, and you'll make the island just after lunch assuming no lake-creature trouble

As written, I think the rules allow you to 'keep hustling' as long as you remove the non-lethal damage (and thus the fatigued condition) but again I don't want to abuse the rules by finding a loophole.

I agree, but no need to spend healing if you don't have to. :)

I do believe you should now be level 15.

Moonday, 9 Neth, 4709 - Oathday, 12 Neth, 4709
- The group heads off into the darkness, seeking the Crystal Palace. The pass few creatures in the darkness, and best those they chose to fight.
- They close in on the Palace mid-morning of Wealday and plan how to approach this latest glyph.
- The Feasting Damnation, an Abyssal harvester gives the party some trouble until the group punishes it into retreat in the Abyss.
- As they focus on the glyph however, none other than Allevrah appears to harass the group.
- The party manages to destroy the glyph though the backlash is uncomfortable - and a pulse of energy heads toward the Hanging Forest…

Fireday, 13 Neth, 4709 - Moonday, 16 Neth, 4709
- The group choses to return to the Weeping Cliffs however in order to overcome that glyph again. As they approach, they see it well lit and crackling with electricity as before.
- It is a simple thing to disarm that which they already know.
- They discuss where to go next and settle on the Bloodforge and the drow.

Toilday, 17 Neth, 4709 - Starday, 21 Neth, 4709
- It takes four days to reach the Bloodforge due largely to the waterways that must be crossed.
- They encounter some phantom fungi, which they easily avoid, a mating pair of vrocks which they drive off, and a wave of ghouls but it's the black blood infested fiendish cockroach swarms that nearly do them in on the third day.
- Finally, they reach the keep where Ederin and Allarnon scout ahead to see what can be seen.
- Discovered, they retreat and report their limited findings to the party and a plan is formed.

Sunday, 22 Neth, 4709
- In the morning, a little tired, the party prepares to assault the keep.
- They make their way to the wall easily enough, everyone invisible, and seeing invisibility, but that damnable hound catches their scent again and howls…
- The party takes up arms against drow and demon, while Dimitrio flashes his blade, and his smile, at the glyph - intimidating it.
- The glyph falls just as Allevrah begins to appear, and the party makes tracks from the keep, harried a little by flying drow, but not for long.

Moonday, 23 Neth, 4709 - Starday, 28 Neth, 4709
- Eventually the party escapes across the river-basin, and makes their way around the great lake of blood.
- There’s a brief, but painful, encounter with some sort of mucky-ant lion, but the party bests it and it withdraws deep into the earth.
- Finally, midday on Starday the intrepid group makes their way into the Hanging Jungle.
- Ederin does some tracking, and the party follows.
- The group finds the Moldering Emperor’s residence, and charges in, after a little research, but without knocking.
- The Emperor takes offense at that, and attacks the group even as Lief attempts to placate the skittish glyph.
- The glyph is dispelled, and the giant worm run-off as the party moves out of the Hanging Jungle.

Sunday, 29 Neth, 4709 - Wealday, 2 Kuthona, 4709
- It takes three full days to reach the Rotstone Hollows. The party rests some distance away and approaches early in the morning of Wealday 2 Kuthona, 2709
- They walk up, through the muck of muddy blood, and find the towers they seek.
- Another Muck Lion, presumably a door-guard for the area, attacks and is defeated, though it takes some time.
- Descending below, the party encounters the charda, but manage to talk their way through, rather than hack everything to death.
- The group easily routes the weak defense of a few demons and a troglodyte.
- They surface again in the dark, and begin to make their way west, toward the island.

Oathday 3 Kuthona, 4709 - Starday 5 Kuthona, 4709
- The party travels across the mud-plains and to the edge of the Caltherium, a great blood lake, with little to stop them.
- Most walk across the lake as a few fly over it as the party hurries to their island destination.
- They reach the island and look about for any threats nearby. Finding none, they prepare to proceed onward.
