Oh, I'm sure you're not going there. Nope, no siree-bob. :)
Thanks for the heads up. I'll grab it on PDF in a few days.
Dimitrio Carini
Hey, I'm not sure who has what but Dimitrio doesn't have any. :(
Who has the two lights we bought? Layne and Lief?
Euan, can I have one anti-toxin and one smelling salts. Is the smelling salts a one time use? If so, then I want three of those.
I also want a MW cold iron dagger, if available.
Please let me know if the above is possible and how much it would be.

Having some issues with my ISP. Posting may be a bit spotty for the next day or two, please bot me if I'm holding up anything.
Dimitrio Carini
Lief: Euan said that Dimitrio could aid Lief in freeing himself from the webs. So you have to pick either escape artist or STR check and I'll do the same and 'aid another'.
Dimitrio Carini
Dimitrio, can't move there, it's mostly wall - unless you want to squeeze by the door. You'll be facing improved cover from that position, plus the minuses for squeezing though. I moved you back for now, but feel free to override. ;)
I didn't see that. I'll stay put then. :)
GM_Euan
Oops. Hide armor is medium armor Allarnon.
Acrobatics (link) prohibits moving in medium armor.
"You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor."
I'm, as usual, not going back. But you'll not be able to use acrobatics quite so much in the future with that Hide armor on. Sorry 'bout that.
GM_Euan
You missed it. She didn't have much on her, but it was listed here (link). The adamantine shirt, potion of curing, crossbow, etc. were all hers.
Ederin Valenta
What are the gold values of the stronger alchemist fires and acid flasks? Should I be including all common items as well?

Ah yes. Too busy messing with the boots you ruined. :)

Ederin,
Just value them at double - and skip all the stuff Lief and Kaylayne picked up. That's just a hassle to track for little gain. :)

Loot divvy is 1389gp for each party member unless there is anything on the list that says "to sell" that anyone wants/needs.

Level Up time!
You folks should level up overnight and be level 8 by morning, prior to the raid.
The AP seems to be moving very quickly to me. I added a lot of content to this last bit, and removed one really poorly done raid into the city so it's more or less a wash.
Overall, you've done everything but this last raid, a series of boat fights on the island (optional piece that felt forced), and another little thing very early on that I can't now remember. I've also added quite a bit of padding - particularly between books to link things up. I think the result is more role play and less combat but about the same content.
I've been surprised though at how zippy we are getting through the material though. I hope everyone is enjoying the ride! :)

Sixth Synopsis - 15 Arodus, 4709 AR
29 Arodus, 4709 - afternoon
- The party meets each other and spends the afternoon together.
30 Arodus, 4709
- The party has the day to spend with the elves, and time begins to wear a little on their hands as they grow eager.
- That evening they are invited to the war council, where all agree to help the beleaguered elves.
31 Arodus, 4709
- The morning brings an early combat as the party encounters a small demon patrol at the edge of the city.
- Moving to the library the party does a pretty good job of taking down the priestess and her merry band of drow. Once again though the dretches prove to be mettlesome as most of the party succumbs to their stench.
- The sphere, though interesting, seemingly won’t shut up.
- They return to camp whereupon Eviana gives them another mission, if they’re up to it.
- The party moves to engage the alchemy lab, though they must get past the annoying Will-o-Wisp while they’re doing so.
- They start off facing a drider, but make fairly short work of it, and it’s attending spiders.
- Ilverae Parastric faces the party, mirror images spinning, but she does not last long as she’s cut down in flight.
- A quick report and they have the night to themselves… or do they?
- There are two counter attacks in the night, but nothing disastrous.
1 Rova, 4709
- Bartlebe reopens the Gold Goblin to much fanfare. +2 to checks this week.
- The party meets with Eviana early and gets their marching orders for the day - backup.
- A few skirmishes during mid-day is all the party is called upon to do… though they do encounter Razorhorn briefly on an outing.
- That evening, they meet with Eviana to discuss the grand assault the following morning.

Hands down, the fastest game I have ever participated in.
I'm still enjoying the game very much.
Whatever transition issues the AP had, you seemed to have solved. There's always some sort of player 'willingness' in all APs.
I'll level up Dimitrio later. he will continue his role of 'tanky' damage dealer.
Game on!
PS: I think you forgot about the part where we accompanied the older lady art connoisseur while we waited for our first mission.
GM_Euan
Dimitrio - I think you're right! :) Ahh well. Best laid plans...
Also, I almost forgot. As you level up, some of your items improve as well, though not all.
8th Level: Three times per day, the wearer can draw forth a large, ripe piece of healing fruit that explodes when thrown. This functions as a splash weapon, but cures a target it hits of 1d6 points of damage and cures each creature it splashes on of 1 point of damage. It will harm undead. You can of course eat it for the 1d6 healing as well, though it is quite messy and takes a full round to consume. This counts against the total number of pieces of fruit the sash can produce per day.
8th Level: Once per day, the wearer can detach one of the leaves of the garment and send it floating toward a location they specify, borne on the wind but otherwise identical in effect to an Animal Messenger cast at your level.

Well some of that is my pacing. I do like to keep my players busy and so we're maintaining a pretty heavy posting rate. That I want to keep. :)
I just want more for you lot to chew on I guess. We'll see what the next little bit brings. Could be very fascinating...

+1. Let me iterate this to you guys as though you don't already know this: this is the key to being a good PbP GM: the consistency. GM Evilan does many things well, but doing something everyday is the best of his many talents.
Also, let me put it this way: I don't write GM guides based on what I did as GM...I write about how Evilan does things.

Totally agree. I just had two of my players start their first games and I told them both, the most important thing is for the GM to keep the pace.
I hate to say it but players come and go and there are plenty of them out there waiting to join. However, if you as the GM do not post everyday (or however often you said you were going to post), your game will die. No players, no matter how consistent, will save your game.
GM must post on the agreed upon time frames, even if it's just to say 'too tired today, will move this forward tomorrow'.
So kudos to Euan and all those other consistent GMs. :)
Game on!

Ok, maybe I'm reading something wrong here but...
BTW: I'm quoting the d20pfsrd.com
...Like an alchemist, an investigator prepares his spells by mixing ingredients and a tiny fraction of his own magical power into a number of extracts, and then effectively casts the spell by drinking the extract. These extracts have powerful effects, but they are also bound to their creator. Extracts behave like spells in potion form, and as such their effects can be dispelled by dispel magic and similar effects, using the investigator's level as the caster level.
...An extract is “cast” by drinking it, as if imbibing a potion—the effects of an extract exactly duplicate the spell upon which its formula is based, save that the spell always affects only the drinking alchemist.
Moreover, these extracts can't even be drunk by anyone other than the alchemist unless the alchemist has the 'infusion' discovery. But even then, a haste extracts would affect ONLY the person drinking it.
Do you have some sort of ability that makes your haste extract behave like a 'spell'?
Am I interpreting something wrong?
GM_Euan
The intent, I thought, is that the alchemist (and investigator by extension) are just casting spells differently. I did not think the developers intended to nerf the class so dramatically.
Think I'm wrong though. I've never played an alchemist and have never researched this issue until now.
Doing the research though, the boards agree with Dimitrio. here and here and here
So, Lief, I think you might want to pick a different spell going forward as I think this only works on you. I'm leaving this spell cast for this combat as we're already in it and I do hate going back. So some of you (Dimitrio, Allarnon, Tarkir, and Lief) are in fact hasted for the fight.
Lief, we can rebuild for infusions, or change out the spell, or keep it if you want. Just let me know you're thoughts.
Dimitrio Carini
I was with you, GM. Allowed my review of the Investigator to guide me, without delving deeper into Alchemist descriptors. No problem in adjusting the spell- Lief will simply become more selfish in his choices :)
Sorry to burst your bubble. :(
I've played alchemists before but never an investigator, but I knew they were similar.
Still a pretty good class though.
Ederin Valenta
Seeing the double doors close,
Can't believe I overlooked that, hopefully there's something for Ed to shoot if Lief manages to open one.
GM_Euan
hehehe. My combat was simple! You show yourselves on the battlefield, and I riddle you with arrows and crossbow bolts as you slog to the door.
But Nooooo, that wasn't good enough for you. You had to throw down a fog cloud. My combat was simpler. :D

I will out for a few days on vacation with very limited internet access. My last post will be tomorrow morning and I won't be back and posting until late Monday night (April 4th).
Do NOT kill Dimitrio! :)
