The spreadsheet is only an estimate, but it includes things like the communal wands that have been purchased that wouldn't be on your individual sheet. That said it does feel a bit off if you're sure of your count.

I've been watching the spreadsheet work of Ederin pretty closely, and I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

Scan the first tab and make sure you took all the magic items and distributions you were supposed to.

Here's the list of items you've claimed:
wand of magic missiles (9 charges)
Potion of cure light wounds from Saul
Ring of Protection +1
MWK Thieves Tools
Potion of Barkskin +2
Rapier +1
Buckler +1
MWK Chain Shirt
Silver Bracelet
MWK Chain Shirt

Here are the party divvys to date:
Divvy of 125 gold per character and 750gp spent for a wand of cure light wounds.
Divvy of 530 gold per character
Divvy of 1186 gold per character
Divvy of 882gp per character and 150gp for roof repair and 750gp for wand CLW
Divvy of 4513 Gold Each (Noqual not yet used/ 121lbs)
Sale of remaining Noqual (1200gp) less 1120gp in reserve for casting of Continuous Flame

OK, there are some differences. For example, I gave the magic missile wand to Sam and used the potion of barkskin. Should these still be counted against my wealth by level total?

Here's what Dimitrio currently has (with approx. values):

chain shirt +2 (4,000 gp)
Normal Dagger (3) (10 gp)
cold iron dagger
alchemical silver dagger
entertainer’s outfit (3 gp)
traveler outfit (1 gp)
MW thieves tools (50 gp)
CLW potion (1d8+2) (50 gp)
CMW potion (2d8+4) (300 gp)
ring of protection +1 (2,000 gp)
buckler +1 (1,155 gp)
rapier +1 (2,320 gp)
war-trained light horse (300 gp)
approx total equipment = 10,100 gp
2,313 gp

Let me know if I need to update anything.

Thanks,

The spread sheet is there to show the resources we've been given throughout the adventure. If you had been given and immediately used a potion of CLW every day the full price of each would still be counted toward your NET total even though you no longer had any potions to show for it.

So things like the wand you claimed and the barkskin still 'count'' towards your total.

And not that it counts for much, but you did claim that 50gp silver bracelet, so you may as well add it into your inventory.

Roll 20 Map

Ederin is correct. Consumables and gifts still count against your total.

Are you sure you took each cash distribution as it was made? If you missed one or more of those that could make up some of the difference as well.

I don't think I missed any of them...

I calculate things differently (which could be wrong) in my games.

All I do is have each PC have wealth according to their level but I only count wealth 'effectively' there. I don't count potions or other consumables that were already spent.

I think the idea of the WBL is for balance purposes (make sure the challenges are 'appropriate') so to me it doesn't make sense to count wealth (consumables) that was used a few levels ago.

But like many things in my game, I'm not sure if they are being done correctly. Thankfully, my players don;t mind. :)

Roll 20 Map

That's an interesting, and generous, way to track it. And it would certainly suggest large consumable purchases by the party if that wealth isn't tracked.

I do however, so yeah, that's part of it.

As far as the top table on the loot sheet, tab two, you are the poorest of the party. I've not had it happen, but it could well be argued that you should get a greater share of the next distribution to even that out. I you were to take the entire current distribution, it would just even you out with Garridan, the next lowest on the table.

Up to the party of course. That's entirely up to the group. Just suggesting it as a way to make things more even for everyone.

In my last campaign, I added items for folks that were below the others in parity, but it lead to more dramatic upsets not less, so I don't do that anymore. Up to you guys. :)

I don't mind one way or the other. From what I've seen through the adventure everyone has spent some time as either the wealthiest or poorest party member, I know I was pretty low until I snatched those needles. So it's likely to pan out, but given that Dimitrio typically assists Garridan in shielding us back line folks from enemies I don't mind finding someway for him to come away with a somewhat larger portion of the pie when we next divvy loot.

Oh, no need to change anything. Like I said above, I was just curious why my numbers were different and the fact that you track items consumed is part of it. Part of it also is that I didn't get credit for gifting the magic missile wand to Sam so I'm sure all of that makes up the difference between my approx. value of 12,500 gp of 'effective' wealth and the 17,338 gp of 'net worth'.

The fact that Dimitrio's 'net worth' is the lowest in the party is really not a concern. Like Ederin pointed out, this will fluctuate and even itself out throughout play so really no worries.

I'll research some more about what the WBL really is; I also run games and what to make sure they are 'fair and balanced' (really just 'fun' for everyone since I don't really care about 'fair and balanced').

All good.

Game on!

No bargaining?

Did we just pass on an adventure? :)

Roll 20 Map

hehehhee. Just stay in character. I am.

Campaigns are fluid things, but not necessarily all inclusive. Sometimes things get passed over. Sometimes things get added.

Might dip WBL, but nothing you can't handle. :)

Roll 20 Map

As many of you have noted to me, Garridan is absent. His last post is a few days ago now and I have emailed him to see if everything's OK.

I'm going to continue this next bit without him - I'll not be DMPCing him through it. That said he is 'there' in the background and will share in the loot and experience. I don't want anyone falling behind in that way. And if he returns shortly, he can jump right in.

We'll see how it goes.

Just putting this here as a reminder since it hasn't really been relevant yet.

When in Urban terrain, the Ranger grants all allies within line of sight and that can hear him a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Perception, Stealth, and Survival skill checks. Also, as long as they travel with him, the Ranger’s allies leave no trail and can’t be tracked. The Ranger can choose for the group to leave a trail, or even specific members of the group to leave a trail if he so desires.

I'll likely leave it in a spoiler at the bottom of each post until informed that we're no longer in Urban terrain as well.

Roll 20 Map

Garridan continues to be absent from this and other campaigns. I've emailed him twice and others have tried PMing him. I hope he's just abandoned us and is not in fact sick or worse.

That said though it does put us in an uncomfortable position. Tomorrow will be a week without a post/email/chat/PM/anything.

It is possible to do this AP with four people, though I think it'll be a struggle for you. I suspect you'd have to shift your roles around a little to pull it off as well. But it certainly is possible.

However, I also think five is a good number of players for a variety of reasons. Most important is that it gives you more opportunity to role play and investigate weaker build options and just generally play around with you characters more. Also there are more players than DMs out there, and it gives a seat to another person which is important to me.

I'm not ready to remove Garridan from the campaign. I still hope he'll be able to return. However, I want us to start thinking about going forward with four, or adding a fifth.

What are your thoughts? If we want to do a fifth, please Email/Chat/PM me with a suggestion - don't list them here.

For my part I'd like to run with five, and I have someone in mind from the prior recruitment. If you all have suggestions (from anywhere, not necessarily from the prior recruitment), that'll give me five people to research and pick from. And of course give me backups if they say no.

Let's hope this discussion becomes moot as Garridan returns. I like planning for the worst and being happy when it doesn't happen. So consider this planning for the worst. :)

I'd like a fifth. I'm not partial, nor do I have suggestions for a replacement.

I'd like a fifth players as well for just about the same reasons you listed.

I'll tap some of my players and let you know if anyone is interested so you can evaluate them yourself.

I tried getting people interested as a 5th player but the fact that this games moves 'very quickly' scares away potential players.

Anyone else have better luck?

I collated the list I got, ordered the names, and picked a few candidates. My first approach turned me down - too many games. The second accepted and we are working on his character and background now.

He shall, I suspect, be introduced in the next few days...

Great news!

Any preview on who will be joining us?

BTW: I try to keep my taglines updated. Are you looking for something else regarding stats?

I'll release information on our new player later. ;)

As for stats, ideally I'd like to be able to - at a glance - check your math. So you have a +10 to hit, so your stats should have a line like: BAB +6, Dex +3, MW +1 or whatever.

And then your AC information, current HP, that sort of thing.

Thanks!

Ederin, I do, unlike PFS, 10' reach on the diagonal.

Should have made that clearer sooner, but it's only come into effect now.

Looking at the map, it means you provoke with your archery. Let me know if you'd like to change your action or let me have the AoO.

- Then The Trunk appears and discussions ensue resulting in dire predictions and a fearful group.
- Zincher is met, and bested, in just a few short rounds. Akron is met, and new opportunities open up for the party.
- The boat-ride home is uneventful, save the party learns what’s in the box at last, and why Zincher was so anxious to have it back.

16 Arodus, 4709
- It’s nice to wake up in your own bed, yet two visitors await - wake up!
- A messenger boy delivers another package from the mysterious wizard. A few days late.
- A discussion with Kwava in which he requests the party leave Riddleport to deliver the journals to the elves.
- A brief visit with Samaritha gives the party some darkness options, along with a follow up visit with Rhain.
- Cromarcky was pleased to hear the report, and shook the parties hands as they left. Not equals certainly, but the respect was there.

17 Arodus - 21 Arodus, 4709
- The party spends the next few days in a flurry of activity, collecting this, getting that, meeting with power.
- They collect their Noqual armor, magical devices, and more.
- Many items are made, both magical and mundane.
- The party begins to search in earnest for someone to run the Goblin.
- The group is being called the ‘Goblin crime lords by some, but it’s clear their notoriety has increased.

- Bartlebe is the man! He takes over operational duties at the Gold Goblin.

25 Arodus, 4709
- The party whiles away one more day in Riddleport as the contracts are prepared and signed with Bartlebe.

26 Arodus - 27 Arodus, 4709
- The party begins their journey to Crying Leaf.
- On the second day of travel, they encounter the Velashu Horse Lords and pick up a couple horses.

28 Arodus, 4709
- The party gets an early start into the forest, and it doesn’t take long before the forest notices them. Drakes!
- The elves swoop in and help lead by Kaerishiel Neirenar. They then lead the party to Crying Leaf.
- They meet with the head of Crying Leaf, Eviana Nirgassan.
- That evening, Aetheri Irvos invites them to dinner and they agree to her plan to invade the city… a little.

29 Arodus, 4709
- The party travels through the forest for their first glimpse of Celwynvian.
- They enter the Northeaster portion of the city, barely, and invade the conservatory with Aetheri.
- The fight with the render is over quickly, but his friends give the party some trouble and they even fall back a little.
- Eventually the search continues and the conservatory is well documented - for this run anyway.
- Aetheri bestows gifts on the party.

No. Not at this time. Whether it has the power to do that at a later time you do not know.

I don't understand the question. Scorching Rays do 4d6. For range, you may assume caster level 10.

Besides, the bling probably looks best on Dimitrio anyway. :)

male

Went for a stroll with the nice older elven lady:

Swashbuckler level 3
+1 BAB
+6 hp class
+2 hp CON
+1 fort save
+1 will save
+ 3rd level Deeds
Kip-Up (Ex): At 3rd level, while the swashbuckler has at least 1 panache point, she can kip-up from prone as a move action without provoking an attack of opportunity. She can kip-up as a swift action instead by spending 1 panache point.

Menacing Swordplay (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least 1 panache point, when a swashbuckler hits an opponent with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon, she can choose to use Intimidate to demoralize that opponent as a swift action instead of a standard action.

Precise Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least 1 panache point, a swashbuckler gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon (though not natural weapon attacks), adding her swashbuckler level to the damage dealt. To use this deed, a swashbuckler cannot attack with a weapon in her other hand or use a shield other than a buckler. She can even use this ability with thrown light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, so long as the target is within 30 feet of her. Any creature that is immune to sneak attacks is immune to the additional damage granted by precise strike, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from the additional damage of a precise strike. This additional damage is precision damage, and isn't multiplied on a critical hit. As a swift action, a swashbuckler can spend 1 panache point to double her precise strike's damage bonus on the next attack. This benefit must be used before the end of her turn, or it is lost. This deed's cost cannot be reduced by any ability or effect that reduces the amount of panache points a deed costs (such as the Signature Deed feat).

Swashbuckler Initiative (Ex): At 3rd level, while the swashbuckler has at least 1 panache point, she gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks. In addition, if she has the Quick Draw feat, her hands are free and unrestrained, and she has any single light or one-handed piercing melee weapon that isn't hidden, she can draw that weapon as part of the initiative check.
+ Nimble (+1 dodge bonus)
+ extra panache (7th level feat)
+6 skill ranks (acrobatics, stealth, climb, perception, intimidate, use magic device

Roll 20 Map

I want to mention a possible issue.

7th level is a big one for some (all?) of you. Also we're adding a new stronger combatant I think - with an animal companion, so really two new combatants.

So to keep things challenging, I expect to have to up the opposition, a little, which I haven't done much of this AP. Please forgive me if I go too far...

hehehehe.

Sounds like you're throwing down the gauntlet!

Well, bring the damned drow on! (just make them leave their poison home) :)

Roll 20 Map

heheh, no, not at all. I don't view it as a competition. I just want things to be challenging for you - and enjoyable all around.

Allarnon has not read, nor do I expect him to read, the whole of our PbP so far. So please feel free to be specific with your conversations, or refer to specific posts.

Actually, to shortcut things a little, Allarnon, feel free to read all the synopses (link). That will give you an overview of what's happened in broad strokes and link to specific bits for greater detail. We can easily say the party fills you in on all that, broadly as I said.

I wouldn't say easily, GM Euan. This feels like a crossing of the paths, sniffing asses, 'showing open hands' kinda moment... unless there's heavy petting and plenty of wine between Allarnon and Dimitrio, don't ass-ume anything...

Roll 20 Map

Hehehe, true enough! I was going from Ederin's last post, but feel free to limit information. :)

Well, smear me in buttermilk, and call me Silk, turns out Ederin's the rat with loose lips... all apologies, Dimitrio.
