Okay, this is a Recruitment Thread for the 2nd game chosen in the Campaign Setting Interest Check thread. Eberron was chosen, so here it is.

Character build rules are:

Roll 4d6 drop the lowest 8 times, choose best six.
1st level.
Max HP and starting gold.
Edit: You get 2 traits or one bonus feat instead. In addition to all your standard feats, you will get 1 extra feat per level.
You can use anything PF, 3pp or WotC from 3.x era, pending my approval.

For Eberron-related stuff, such as world-specific races and classes, use Eberron Pathfinder. site.

Those of you who were accepted in my previous Eberron game are accepted automatically, but if you wish to change characters, you'll have to roll again and be subject to competition.

I'll accept up to 8 players for this one. The game will start in Sharn.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Excellent. I will start putting together a submission later today, very likely to be a House Cannith human artificer.

Thanks for offering to run this game.

I really like Eberron, always wanted to play a Warforged warrior with future Juggernaut prestige class

So, will you allow an Inspired Vessel as a possible race?

DarkOne the Drow here

This character is from previous nightflier's Eberron game.

1st member of party (Automatic accepted)

Please check mechanics for any changes, might involve some ninja related changes, as I have now better understanding on how to build assassin type characters. Will adjust background when start of adventure is known, and how party is to be formed. There was over 50 posts just on this character creation over 3 threads.

I remember last discussions was the additional languages: have 2/4 done, used up all lizardfolk bonus languages.

PS: will convert profile to my new profile format that I use for games now.

I didn't chime in on the other thread so I am not sure if you will allow my submission but I can't pass up an opportunity to use Tome of Battle again. One of my favorite 3.x books.

Would a Miinotaur be okay? I've always wanted to play one, but most settings make them Always Chaotic Evil.

I'll roll for stats and submit a character if there is still room.
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 5) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 2) = 7
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 4) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 1) = 7
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 3) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 5) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 5) = 15

Nice.

Roll for Stats:
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 1) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 5) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 6) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 3) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 1) = 8

So:
11
17
12
14
15
14

I can do something with those I think :)

You said my rolls would carry over, so just waiting on confirmation or declining of the Inspired race.

Dark Archive

You can use Empty Vessel from the site I linked.

Posting my interest. I might switch up my concept though, we'll see.

Quick Question: If you have a Dragonmark, is the skill that your mark provides a bonus to added to your class skill list?

I supposse this is Eberron from 3.5? No dragonmarks in races outside the houses?

Interested!

Rolls:

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 2) = 15 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 6) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 5) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 6) = 17 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 5) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 6) = 21 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 1) = 16 = 15

That gives me...

Str - 15
Dex - 15
Con - 13
Int - 17
Wis - 13
Cha - 13

SPECIAL ABILITIES
------------------------

Arcane Bond (Su) You have selected to establish a powerful arcane bond with an object.
Bonded Object Objects that are the subject of an arcane bond must fall into one of the following categories: amulet, ring, staff, wand, or weapon. These objects are always masterwork quality. Weapons acquired at 1st level are not made of any special material. If the object is an amulet or ring, it must be worn to have effect, while staves, wands, and weapons must be held in one hand. When attempting to cast a spell without your bonded object worn or in hand, you must make a concentration check or lose the spell (DC 20 + the spell's level). A ring or amulet occupies the ring or neck slot accordingly.
Bonus Feat Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.
Cantrips You can prepare a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells, each day. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they are not expended when cast and may be used again. You can prepare a cantrip from a prohibited school, but it uses up two of your available slots.
Dangerously Curious You have always been intrigued by magic, possibly because you were the child of a magician or priest. You often snuck into your parent's laboratory or shrine to tinker with spell components and magic devices, and often caused quite a bit of damage and headaches for your parent as a result. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Use Magic Device checks, and Use Magic Device is always a class skill for you.
Enchantment Opposition School You have chosen enchantment spells as an opposition school. Preparing an enchantment spell takes up two spell slots of the same level. You take a -4 penalty on any skill checks made when crafting a magic item that has an enchantment spell as a prerequisite.
Necromancy Opposition School You have chosen necromancy spells as an opposition school. Preparing an necromancy spell takes up two spell slots of the same level. You take a -4 penalty on any skill checks made when crafting a magic item that has an necromancy spell as a prerequisite.
Physical Enhancement (Su) You gain a +1 enhancement bonus to one physical ability score (Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution). You can change this bonus to a new ability score when you prepare spells.
Reactionary You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Skilled Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.
Telekinetic Fist (Sp) As a standard action you can strike with a telekinetic fist, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The telekinetic fist deals 1d4 points of bludgeoning damage. You can use this ability 7 times per day.
Transmutation School You have chosen to specialize in transmutation spells.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency Wizards are proficient with the club, dagger, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, and quarterstaff, but not with any type of armor or shield. Armor of any type interferes with a wizard's movements, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail.

I have a background in mind already, but I'll need to adapt it for Eberron, I'll post it later.

I going to swap some of the abilities rolls around, seeing not really suitable as it for future development. Well this was really my first rogue type character I built, so not built good compared to what I know of assassin builds now.

I gave the link for PF version of Eberron. You can get a mark playing an unusual race, but only if it's conceivable that one of the parents is a member of Dragonmarked house. That means that you can play a tiefling, asimar or similar race with dragonmarks.

Going to make a character. Will do some rolls tomorrow and see what comes to mind.

Dotting for interest. Thinking shifter or warforged, but I need to check out the Ebberon Pathfinder site you linked.

Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 4) = 17 15
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6) = 18 16
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 5) = 13 11
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 4) = 17 16
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 6) = 19 15
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 3) = 12 11
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1) = 7 6
Ability Score Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 6) = 13 12

I can work with that...

4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 4) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 2) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 4) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 1) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 3) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 2) = 8 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 3) = 8 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4) = 13 12

Well that was utterly craptacular. Don't know if I am allowed to re-roll, but....

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 6) = 17 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 6) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 4) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 5) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 6) = 19 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 4) = 8 7

Here's to hoping the re-roll is allowed.

I think I will make a warforged. I like the potential it has.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 5) = 16/13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 5) = 19/16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 2) = 9/8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 2) = 13/12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 5) = 13/12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 2) = 13/11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 1) = 7/6
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 4) = 10/8
16, 13, 12, 12, 11, 8 total = 16 points. That's a whole lot a nope. I'd have to play caster. If these are the scores I am stuck with I will have to bow out.

Coolness. Here goes!
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 6) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 5) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 3) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 6) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 5) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 4) = 16

fbdaury here...

Ok, now that Crunch is mostly up, I thought I'd get the backstory up for my submission.

Kaern:

Kaern:

Born Kaern ir’Talan, the illegitimate son of a Karrnathi Duchess and an unknown (to him, anyways) member of House Deneith, Kaern cut ties with his family in Karrnath after the death of his mother. He had never really gotten along with them anyways- whenever his grandparents and cousins looked at him, all they saw was his mother’s folly in falling in love with the wrong man.

While Kaern had always wondered about his father, it was clear that it made his mother sad to speak of the man that broke her heart, and the subject was always a sore subject with his grandfather, the only other person that Kaern was aware of that knew who his father was. But the old man refused to tell him, and he wouldn’t break his mother’s heart to find out either, so he just put his questions aside for her sake. But when his Dragonmark flared to life when he was 12, things changed- clearly he was the bastard child of someone in (or blood-related to) House Deneith, and they even sent house members to his mother to discuss adopting him into the house.

Kaern’s mother however, no matter how much she may have loved Kaern’s father, apparently hated his family. Kaern received a letter from his mother after he death that explained to him that his father had left them at the insistence of his family, and had been too weak to leave the only life that he had ever known for them.

Seeing that both his families had no use for him, Kaern dropped all use of his family name and started answering only to the name that his mother had given him. Walking away from his life of noble foolishness (as he saw it) and refusing to join House Deneith, he decided on a course of his own- he set his weapons and training to the profession of being a bodyguard- sort of thumbing his nose at his father’s house but not in any way that would get him in trouble. He never claimed to be a Deneith heir or house trained, he simply used his abilities and the power of his dragonmark to protect his clientele, and made a name for himself as a skilled professional. This career took him all over Khorvaire and to some of the other continents as well before he finally ended up in fabled Sharn, looking for his next job.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 2) = 8 7 drop
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 6) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 3) = 16 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 5) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 3) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 6) = 18 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5) = 19 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 3) = 12 10 drop

16, 15, 15, 14, 12, 12.

Quite doable.

Nice rolls GMV. I'm leaning more toward warforged myself. Might be interesting to have more Warforged than strict meat-races. I'm thinking a male-personality warforged at this stage. Perhaps Inquisitor or Monk.

Want to do a pair of warforged characters? I always did love intertwined backgrounds.

Crunch is up. Backstory to come later after I look over the world info.

That would be cool! There is also SamuraiRuy who posted interest in a another warforged concept UPTHREAD...

Cool! I've been wanting to play an archer Bard, Str magus or Oracle of Battle focused on support! If possible, I'd love the opportunity to play a duelist character using my homebrew Rogue.

It takes me a little more time to come up with background, though, since I like it to be interesting but open-ended enough to allow for character growth.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 4) = 13 12 <drop>
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 6) = 21 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 5) = 19 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 2) = 12 10 <drop>
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 1) = 19 18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 6) = 23 18

Oo... Mother of God...

EDIT:

Oceanshieldwolf wrote:
And you still have two rolls to make Lemmy - 8 and keep 6...

What?! Really?

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 6) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 4) = 17 14

O.O

18, 18, 17, 16, 16, 14

My lowest Attribute would be a 14! Now I really want to play an Oracle of Battle (with spells focused on healing/support) or duelist (homebrew) Rogue!

And you still have two rolls to make Lemmy - 8 and keep 6...

@nightflier - I'm thinking of an ex-Cyre soldier warforged using the Dreadnaught multiclass archetype - essentially it's a mountless infantry captain-style Cavalier archetype... what do you think?

I'd say possibly. ;)

Note, elsewhere nightflier did say he only knows the Soulknife.

Nice rolls Lemmy, just note I am already an assassin (ninja (rogue)) already in party.

No problem. I'd be fine with an Oracle of Battle or Str Magus, or maybe a support Cleric, if no one is playing one already. Or anything that complements the party, actually. I have lots of unused character concepts, both in terms of mechanics and background.

I'll need to look over the rules, but I am thinking of playing some sort of Dragonmarked Heir, possibly eventually taking the PrC of the same name.

This is OSW's Warforged avatar. No crunch yet ;)

I am going to use this alias that I had for another game a while back. I like the name so I am going to use it again.

This is Grand Moff Vixen.

I love that avatar GMV! It just didn't fit my concept...

So I'm thinking Tarragon and Glaive are former soldiers now army-less since Cyre/The Mournland. They still act and think as soldiers, but have fallen on hard times and their honor is slightly besmirched. They have tried to keep honor intact, but things have not been easy…

Whaddaya think GMV?

I keep thinking of a paladin/samurai sort of character, but using the Oracle of Battle class (or Cleric, depending on how badly the party needs a divine caster).

A honorable man who found himself blessed by divine powers and decided it was his duty to use them to spread justice and mercy around the world during his travels to find out how and why he got these blessings... Mechanically, his spells would be more focused on support and utility and his feats/class features should allow him to incapacitate enemies without necessarily killing them.

-----------------

For the Str-based Magus, my first idea is a guy who travels to unveil ancient combat techniques, both martial and arcane. He has the habit of studying his past battles and opponents, and then using that knowledge to grow stronger. He doesn't know for certain what calls him to this journey, but he can't resist the temptation of learning more about the secrets of war.

-----------------

For the Rogue, it'd be a duelist trying to create a completely new fencing style, but I think it'd be mechanically too similar to Zakmakiv Siraski's character.

-----------------

Hmmm... A whip-wielding character could be fun, but I don't know what class to use to pull it off. I think it could work with either Bard or (homebrew) Rogue... His combat tactics are more about control than damage, but again, it'd be redundant with Zakmakiv.

Wait! Now that I think about it... It might actually be doable with Oracle of Battle too. Hmmm... Is there any 3.5 feat to add Dex or Int to damage instead of Str?

Names come later because I'm have a really difficult time creating names. :P

Guys, please post your applications under your PC profile. Be sure to include as detailed background as you can. I am GM that pays less attention to crunch than to flavor of characters, so the background and personality will get you in this game.
