Laughing as the enemy came crashing towards the group, Fendir dropped his bow, drew his rapier, and moved into combat. As he moved, he allowed the beast to take over, his movement blurring as he surged forward.

Going to Shift, drop my bow, draw my rapier, move to the spot where one would be to the north of me and the other to the east, and then attack the eastern one twice. AC is currently 17, since I don't have my shield out.

Once Fendir was in position, he swung his blade on the lizardman closest to the Jaguar, hoping to kill him before he had the chance to rouse it.

Fabian: Not sure where I got 10d10 from, you are right that should have been 9d8, sorry! And thank you for being nice and letting us keep the snoring leopard ^.^

Rainn bit her lip as the lizards came thundering towards them, she breathed a sigh of relief as Fendir moved to attack and she saw Bronwyn, Vi and Palisade come charging across the temple grounds to help.

"Right let's make this easier, throw a little light on the subject..."

She mimed plucking the sun from the sky and clapped her hands softly, throwing glowing motes of firelight towards the lizards and causing them to erupt in to purplish flames. The leopard slept on despite the flames dancing around on its snoozing flank.

Faerie Fire... you get advantage on attacks, and you get advantage on attacks, and you get advantage on attacks... advantage on attacks for everyone!!

Breathing deeply with relief, she said, "My thanks, Palisade, and to the Creator-Goddess as well."

”No gratitude is necessary, companion Mei’Vi,” the ‘forged said without looking back as it trotted towards the burgeoning melee. ”You are a valuable member of the team, and your early demise would be suboptimal. This one doing its part to maintain you in effective health is only to be expected.” As if to prove its point, the Changeling’s arrow brought down the archer on their side of the roof.

Palisade noted the alarmingly large feline falter in its charge and crash into some bushes, for reasons unknown. It rather doubted any single attack could have managed such a feat, so that left only magic. And since it had not seen unit Squeak to employ such spells, and individual Fendir had not struck it as the type for subtle magics, that left individual Rainn as the most likely explanation. Impressive. It would have to update its initial threat assessment regarding the Dragonmarked noble.

Run, run, run… I expect that’s all Palisade will be doing for a few rounds unless something unexpected occurs.

Squeak puzzled for a second as the lizardmen ignored their sudden ignition. 'Is Bronwyn directing me who to target? I believe the effect came from behind me. An illusion? Or a suggestion?'
Unsure, Squeak stood his ground, raised his crossbow and loaded a specially prepared quarrel with a glass bulb for a head.

damage: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7
Edit: wait, is that a crit? crit?: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (10, 8) + 3 = 21

To Squeak's surprise the result was a spectacular success. 'It appears the new formulation does ignite on launch! Truly a victory with unexpected ramifications for my flamebau menu!'
"An excellent suggestion, companion Rainn. I commend you."

With her move, can Bronwyn hit anyone as well this round? If she can get within 120ft of someone, she'll firebolt them. I think that's the range I remember. I'm at work so I can't check

Squeak winced as his predictive algorithms ran through the likely result of the fight. Sadly it appeared it would be necessary to sacrifice one - or more likely both - of the new companions to ensure Bronwyn was not injured.
'No. I made an agreement. No-one is expendable. I must do what organics would do. I must do... the stupid thing.'

"Rainn. Run to the others. I will draw fire... Avenge me." The words were easy, but this next would not be. 'I can only hope my draconic is up to the task...'
Draconic
In a flat, emotionless, but loud voice, Squeak recited "You ****ing **** ****ers! You killed..." a tiny gap as he failed to recall Male-Companion-0128's name "him! **** You! I will BURN your temple AND your FALSE GOD! And you with it!'" Squeak grasped for more insults to translate "I question your paternity! I had a long term relationship with your mother! Were you born like that, or are you horrifyingly injured? Hearsay evidence claims you have had no sexual partners if male, or very many if female!"

Each insult was accompanied by a new bolt, most at the injured lizardfolk, but one of which struck the injured Fendir.
Being clever... I hope.
Standard to shoot Firebolt
Bonus to cast a Heightened Healing Word on Fendir... delivered through a healing potion strapped to a bolt.
The other bolts are just the repeating enhancement on the crossbow, but hopefully that makes Squeak a priority target!

attack+bless+bardic: 1d20 + 6 + 1d4 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1) + (3) = 11

healing word: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
persuasion: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 bless if it applies: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Remember Squeak's AC is temporarily 22 (I believe) because of the enhancement he put on his armor this morning.
Edit: sigh, I have adjusted the speech for the terrible roll. Including forgetting Fendir's name. Guess I should have saved the d8 for that!

Edit2: Ninja'd by Rainn. Teach me to keep editing! In which case I guess when Rainn runs up he will as well?

Palisade witnessed the barbarian falling under a flurry of heavy blows with apparent indifference, although in its mind the ‘forged lamented the loss of combat prowess. The large melee-type lizard warriors were clearly formidable enemies – not that it needed reminding, since it, too, had felt the weight of their blows in their previous engagement at the temple.

3 more rounds of running, I think… but at least Squeak’s taunts make the hike entertaining ;^) Wonder if these lizards speak Common, though…

Sorry for the delay. Tuesdays are never a good day for me to post

Bronwyn will move 30' and cast Firebolt at one of the purple-glowing lizardfolk

Bronwyn ran after Vi and Palisade. She felt like she was sweating more than a lady should as she ran...scratch that, she was 'glistening'. Ladies always glistened and never sweated. Afraid that the wetness may ruin her dress as sweat ran down her back, she slowed to a stop. She was going to continue with walking when she realized that she was in range for her magic to reach the lizardfolk that were now glowing with a purple light.

The wizard stopped long enough to send a bolt of fire shooting towards the lizardfolk's glowing back.

I was using PF bless, and only adding 1, not 1d4. Exciting!

shortbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1d4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + (2) = 12

Seeing Fendir go down inspired Vi to run faster. She began to outpace the others, and then quickly launched an arrow at the lizard. However, her agitation caused the arrow to fly astray.

Run, dash for bonus action and shoot, so 60 feet distance for me.

So... 90' away the beginning of this round, right? So, moving 30' would bring Palisade in 60' range of enemies... Faerie Fire isn't on the archers on the roof, right? And the last upright lizard all lighted up is unlikely to remain alive for very long, so not much point in taking advantage of the advantage by using a crossbow...

It appears Palisade's lukewarm worry for individual Fendir's health was proving premature, as healing blessings brought the warrior back to his feet, and clearly hungry to even the score. Perhaps the tide was turning in their favor, the 'forged mused as it got close enough to the action to consider joining the battle itself.

'Tactical analysis. One large feline, currently out of battle. Possibly only disabled. Possible that causing damage will rouse it. One wounded enemy warrior on the ground. Two archers up on the roof. Likely the warrior on the ground will not remain among the living for long, considering the number of allies in close proximity. Suggested course of action...'

Its mind made up, the 'forged once again summoned holy flame and cast it towards the enemy forces, while maintaining its advance.

Let's take one move and cast another Sacred Flame on A) the lizard warrior on the ground, or, if it dies, B) on an archer on the roof, or if they aren't in LOS, C) just move closer twice.

Happy Finnish Independence Day, everyone!

The warrior went down again, Palisade noted, appreciating Fendir's tenacity to fight back even on his last legs, rather than seek to retreat to recuperate. With the last archer retreating for now, they had only one active enemy on the field of battle, and it was getting rapidly surrounded from all sides.

Maintaining its tireless advance, the 'forged summoned yet another burst of frey flames to scorch the faltering enemy.

Too far away to heal Fendir this round, so let's repeat last round, another Sacred Flame on the lizard if it's still alive and move to get closer, double move if the lizard is finished before Palisade's turn.

I must say that I too am freaked out by the turn of events. It's welcomed to get through a fight without taking any damage. The 'forged must be getting better at their job :)

With the remaining archer running away, Bronwyn turned her attention to the remaining lizardfolk. She did what she did best which was conjured fire and hurled it at the creature before it could hurt anyone further.

Mei'Vi stared at the rooftop, wondering where the other archer had gone. Seeing that the others had the dying blackscale well in hand, she kept her eyes on the temple. Moving carefully backwards, she tried to get a view of the roof, keeping her eyes peeled for any movement.

Moving straight south, readying to shoot at anybody coming from the roof or temple door.

As Fendir fell, Squeak considered, then committed.

draconic. Please imagine the insults delivered in a flat voice reminiscent of a male Siri.
"You ****ing **** ****ers. You killed him. **** You. I will burn your temple and your false god. And you with it.' I question your paternity. I had a long term relationship with your mother. Were you born like that, or are you horrifyingly injured. Hearsay evidence claims you have had no sexual partners if male. or very many if female." 'Given it worked last time, I should do it again. If I am to display vengeance, I had best display it each time. I might need to work on a more concise speech, though, if our new companion - Fendir, yes, Fendir - keeps being downed with such frequency.'

Once again he turned and shot at the lizardfolk in front of him, hopeful he could keep it distracted from more fragile compatriots.

Current Face: Mei'Vi, elven explorer AC 15 | HP 21/38 | Saving Throws: Dex, Int | Init +3 | Perc +5

Motioning to the others, Mei'Vi cried, "Come on! Into the temple before the kitty wakes up. We can take stock when we're out of the open here."

Expecting somebody to suggest killing the cat, but thought I'd start things off.

Fendir staggered to his feet once more, took stock of the situation, and proceeded to vomit out a mix of blood and the contents of his stomach.

Wiping his mouth, he retrieved both his weapons before strapping his shield on his arm. Once his defense was in place, he drew his blade and started up the stairs.

I don't know how they work but if you want to kill an enemy that has no way of defending himself and no other allies to defend him then be my guest.

Dire leopard is as good as dead if you want that to happen.

Just give me a good post. :)

Now that all the immediate threats were down, Bronwyn turned and headed for the temple like Vi suggested. It made perfect sense to get inside before reinforcements arrived.

"Thanks Squeak, your speeches were full of fire and inspiration! They were definitely helpful in that tussle!"

She glanced around at the situation but the pain was too great for her to make a decision on what to do. She was grateful when Vi suggested moving.

"That's a stunningly good idea Vi..."

Rainn clutched her shoulder and hitched up her skirt before running off after Bronwyn and Vi.

We are pretty seriously hurt, but then again, we are slowly running out of enemies... last Cure Wounds on Fendir, since he's the most hurt.

Cure Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Bummer

"Determined. This one objects to leaving such a powerful enemy alive to follow us in," Palisade said, sizing up the sleeping feline next to them. "Unless the creature is expected to remain unconscious for an extended period, it may wake up at an inopportune moment. Logical choice would be to end the threat now that we have a chance to," it said, drawing its greatsword and positioning itself for a clean strike.

Unless someone Palisade trusts (so the original group) objects, it WILL decapitate the kitty in the next few seconds...
