My bad, I am in Long Island and the internet was down for some reason when I got here. My apologies.

I just realized that we could end up spending a day (or more) at every single intersection while we wait for everyone to agree on which way to go next. Having a route caller has kept things moving nicely in a PbP Serpent's Skull game that I'm in. The way it works there is that if a couple of other PCs agree with the route caller, then that's enough, and so there only needs to be a discussion if someone pipes up with disagreement before the movement is taken.
Since I personally intend to explore every square inch of this castle -- and I assume that everyone else feels the same -- it hardly matters which way we go at any particular intersection anyway. ;) And so I think that we could even make it snappier, with going whichever way the first character to post an opinion suggests, if the next two agree. No need for a single route caller here.

That is quite snappy.

I won't always be able to post at that rate. I'm good on weekends, holidays, and the occasional other day off, but I'm lucky to even post once while I'm at work. Also, one of my three games has basically been on hold since the 1st, soon to resume. Others will have to take more initiative in saying which way to go just for us to maintain the pace, let alone pick it up.

Yeah, I like it like this. Keeps it fun and fresh.
I'm just trying to be a Paladin, usually I attack first then ask questions, so it is a good campaign to challenge my style a bit.
Oh and feel free to use "froganoid".

Guys, we are standing in the fire here. This fight is going to seriously head south if we don't change tactics.
A couple of important notes:
1. No one who is blinded should move AT ALL. Stand where you are. You can't take a withdraw action, so movement a) provokes, and b) risks you taking an epic faceplant and being prone the rest of this fight. It's not a worthwhile use of your time.
2. On that note, Quintus, get in the damn room, man. You can heal blind, and realistically, that's all we need you to do right now. Cowering in the hallway is asking the rest of us to take attacks of opportunity and/or faceplant to get to you. Neither of those are good options. Most of the people in the room will die from one attack of opportunity at the moment.
3. Staggering backwards and screaming is not an effective use of anyone's action. I don't care if it's in character. If we don't raise DPS on this guy, we're phuct. He's getting full-round attacks on us right now. We need to get our collective heads in the game and retaliate.
4. I am going to full-heal mode for the rest of the fight. I'm blowing through my spells per day and then dropping back to the wand for any further heal needs. We're outgunned and I would prefer not to see a TPK. Between Quintus and I we should be able to provide sufficient healing. Any of the rest of you using actions to try to heal yourselves is going to provoke and probably result in your deaths, so concentrate on pounding the snot out of Mr. Froggy.
If we can collect ourselves and act appropriately to our situation, I think we can make it out of this with everyone alive and relatively healthy. If we keep dinking around, this thing stands a real chance of heading in a direction that results in the blindheim getting a five-course meal - us. Please let's not allow that to happen.
Thanks guys, we can do this!

I think resting would be best for us to heal up and replenish spells.

I'm going to start keeping track of what we find and use during the scenario, just to keep my own head straight.
Maurit:
Masterwork Thieves Tools (being used by Kehl)
Dagger
Shortbow with arrows (being used by Zedril)
one Potion of Protection from Evil
two Potions of Cure Light Wounds (one used by Zedril)
Fire beetles:
a bundle of documents written in Kelish, probably trade agreements
Froganoid:
a trade agreement
three flasks of holy water
a potion of cure moderate wounds
Three-alcove library:
a dozen more trade agreements that have not succumbed to the mold, written in Kelish

Btw, I will be unavailable Friday evening and all day Saturday.
No problem.

this is what happens when your core rule book is the size of a textbook.
HA! That is so true.

![]() |

FWIW, I made a point of specifying that whenever possible, Dasiji takes 10 (or even 20) on passive skills such as Perception. The rules don't explicitly state it as a standard assumption, but they also don't forbid a declaration or ruling along those lines.

The Dwarf is my conscience.

![]() |

i would put forth that if a spider the size of a small car is not evil, than nothing is evil. *shudder*
I agree, I still wanted to smite him just so I feel better about myself.

Oooooh I hate not completing a quest.
I'd be down for another as well, with my Dwarf or this Pally.
Thanks for running this.
Good job all.

GM Brute Squad |

I think I will hold off for now. I want to focus on the other PBP I am running, and I am not sure the other members of this party would be as enthusiastic as you two. It felt like interest was waning at the end there. If I do run the other part, I will let you know. Feel free to join other PFS PBPs if you get the opportunity.

GM Brute Squad |

Oh, I forgot about Day Job Checks. I hope you don’t mind if I roll for you as I’m working on the Chronicles now.
Irijaya 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Quintus 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Um, yeah, Quintus certainly doesn’t mind.
You other three did not have an obvious Day Job skill. If you are using PP to be able to use a different skill for your Day Job, let me know.

![]() |

Ahhh, I forgot all about that. I am still not sure of the day jobs and what they are for other than for extra gold.
I also have no idea what a Paladin's day job would be, if any.
