HOLD THE PRESSES!!!
Lort already brought this up. We can play Ancient's Anguish at Gen Con Thursday perhaps.
The other issue would be Captive in Crystal, which wasn't on the planner until I put it there.
So this is coming from the strong desire to hit all of these scenarios before Gen Con.
I still stand by my #TeamKeepTheBandTogether, but perhaps it would actually make sense for Gunari/Jack to sit that one out since he is that far ahead of us in experience anyways, and we need to get tied in together for Eyes of the Ten, and I believe he is the only one who has already played it.
Just a thought. Trying to make this simple and painless so we can actually keep the band together.
The challenge we will need to figure out is what Amaranti will do to make up the Gen Con rush we will have because of the specials.
One thing at a time though. :)

Wooo hooo for thread blasting!!!
I put some stuff in the planner, trying to get some tenative thoughts on 'paper'. I bolded the ones that I feel we should do for sure.
I added Captive in Crystal because I would really like to play it. See my initial thoughts on that conundrum above.
I added in where some of the Gen Con stuff will likely fall as well.
I added a note that mentions that we may be doing a lot of slow track in the high levels to make sure that we don't leave Amaranti behind.
In light of that last part, perhaps that will be the opportunity to fill in our final scenarios with some of the early scenarios (seasons 0-2) in order to get Amaranti to catch back up from the exp we get at Gen Con.
Just some thoughts. Obviously there is some flexibility in the exact order that we play them, other than that Lort has it pegged, we should hit the 5-9s exclusivly until we hit level 10, so we can get them all in.
Let me just say thanks to for everyone working to help figure out how this group can get these season 7s in before Gen Con.
EDIT: Oh yea, so I put some date ranges in that we would need to finish scenarios by to keep on track for Gen Con with that schedule. (primarily to allow for us to actually get the season 7s in before the Con) and we are looking at 4 weeks per scenario. That should be a breeze for this group, especially as we pare down our play-load collectively. Just wanted to point that out.
Thanks for indulging my mind dump.

Hey Steve... thanks for the mods to the scneario planner! Looks cool!
So, you already noticed that we discussed a few of your already. Much of that was my fault for being so verbose and posting so much about this.
As you noted, Jack has already played Captive in the Crystal, which is why that one wasn't put in the planner. See above for not wanting to play without Gunari if it can be avoided (sad enough that Amaranti will disappear for Part 2 of Heresy). We can play it together at GenCon with other toons or maybe John will agree to run it for the Beasts. I've marked that slot as ?? again... hope that's okay. Also, by the time we hit the end of April, there should be a new 5-9 to fill that 'slot'. Maybe also even one new tier 7-11 to play before Ironbound Schism. Fingers crossed.
I'm actually considering not playing GenCon with Lort at all. I have a healthy stable of characters and there's no need to race ahead. Slow advancement will help enough to let us play 3+ scenarios anyway if we choose to go down that path... but I don't have to play everything with Lort. That was last year.
As for your suggestion to play a heap of 0-2s to get Amaranti back up to level post GenCon (should slow advancement fail to cut it)... that sounds fine. Sounds like he'll catch up even faster if Lort isn't there. I think you catch my drift.
So I guess that leaves the question... can we stand to play 6 or fewer games with our Drongos at GenCon? If so, then we can just slow advance and all is well (6 games at half rate at level 10 without Amaranti, 6 games at half rate at level 11 with Amaranti... all end up at level 12.0). If we really, really want to play more... we're causing issues again. Perhaps this is one for John, Steve, Chris and I to discuss over email and then get back to you on (since Jack, you said you'll be GMing as per usual and I'm assuming you don't care if your GM creds go to Gunari or not).

I'm actually considering not playing GenCon with Lort at all.
This brings up a really good point that I wanted to bring up.
I admit that I was to chicken to do it, and was going to find a workaround.
I am inviting one of my very best friends (strong-arming really) to come to Gen Con as well. (you know him as Glarifyur in my Alts game) and he does not have a character beyond... well... Glarifyur's level.
Not playing Cyrus at Gen Con (while it would be fun to do) is not only a good option for me, but now that I know it is an option with others, it would be a preferred option for me.
This means I won't have to scramble to help Glarifyur get a character high enough level to run with the Drongos at the table we sit at, because not sitting at the same table as him wasn't an option.
So in summary:
Thanks for that Lort. That was a surprisingly large weight off my shoulders.

Don't forget about Pregens, Cyrus... but will be good to know Glarifyur will be joining us (I've almost finished reading his brother's - uncles? - journal, too).
Do keep in mind that an absolutely stunning way to level up in PFS is to just play a shortish sanctioned module over an evening. I've got plenty I can recommend.
Let's take the GenCon chatter to another discussion forum, though (maybe the Zedroom). Thanks for having us use this thread for our squabbling important planning, GM Bold Strider.
As for Captive in Crystal... Houston PFS is running it on Saturday 23rd. I need to check with the wife, but it's looking like a good spot for me. Haafiz, away! Oh, and I need to search my soul to see if I want to play under a GM who not only plays with Houston PFS, but who also goes by the name "Ace".

![]() |

Ace isn't a terrible name! It's a Rockstar name! How else are you gonna seduce the ladyfolk without a cool moniker?

![]() |

a GM who not only plays with Houston PFS, but who also goes by the name "Ace".
If this is the denim suit wearing, hair brushing chap, and you fail to take a picture of him I will disown you like the good-looking, athletic, chess champion, dice-rolling, son I never had.
You have been warned.

Why are you mad at Masur?

Um ... didn't he lead us in a hallway to the swarm, the haunt, and the evil death cleric? Can I be a little mad at that?

![]() |

Understandable, Bold Strider.
Worst case, we'll see your response when it happens.

![]() |

Holy cats - By my count that puts us at 50+ for an intimidate check.
This is Cyrus/Acrobatics territory....
I love the visual of just how scary/pissed off we must look. Even the captain in all his arrogant bluster has to be poopin his breeches right about now...

![]() |

Still under the weather. Will try and post later today.

![]() |

Thanks for running, GM! Sorry for all the headaches and griping... it's all down to the scenario. Thanks for allowing our intimidates to back them off... the last fight would have been a blood bath in any case (unless they were seriously beefed up from the last lot we fought). Buffed up and with none of us chained, they didn't stand a chance.
Can't wait to play the Blakros Connection!
Ooh, and level 9!!! Get ready to have a lot of bad guys with the shaken condition.
Cornugon Smash FTW. Seriously the only reason I bought that Cheliax sourcebook. TMM or just addiction? Both, probably.

GM Bold Strider |

The last fight was three of the stronger ones and three of the weaker ones. The previous fights was 1 strong and 3 weak. You guys had time to buff however, so it would have been a bloodbath.

![]() |

Got it. Thanks so much for running and sorry we complained a lot.

![]() |

GM Bold Strider: thanks so much for running the game, it was a lot of fun. Ibid certainly almost died, but it was still a great time. You rock and kicked ass GMing, dude! Thanks again :)

![]() |

@Bold Strider, yes, thank you! Much appreciated.
What are we going to do next? :D

![]() |

@GM Bold Strider... was the checkbox for "An Agent Uncovered:" supposed to be checked?

Got my chronicle sheet, thanks again, GM Bold Strider!
