Old(New) option for you all.
Since I use Hero Points it also gives you the option of giving up your hero point usage to gain another feat. It is an option. However way the cost of losing Hero Points before selecting it.
Also apologies for the slow down. Ran into some snaffu's at work and I am working diligently to get through them. Hopefully have some posts up soon-ish.
Nice characters so far guys, I'm feeling the burn already! ;D

Kieran Crane |

I'm assuming that the rolls I made earlier in this thread won't be what I'm using. That's perfectly fine. They're a bit much. I'm going to plug that misc 7th roll in since I only rolled six times in the Skyfall thread.
Just gotta do my equipment and my crunch will be all finished. I have an idea for Kieran's background that I'm gonna stew on and get it all out here on the boards in the next day or so. Excitement!!!

Kieran Crane |

Quick question, DM. Keeping with things that make me smile, would you allow the Hurling Rage Powers to work on grappled creatures??? :-)

DM Corerue |

As long as you are Winning the grapple then yes. It would be hard to throw the guy who has you in a head lock. ;)
Woek is getting way more hectic. We have 6 guys in the hospital. They were the crew coming up and they decided to go out drinking and the van they were in ate it on a corner and they crashed into a ditch...
So I am working over this hitch! Wooooooo....

Kieran Crane |

Lol! I'm really excited now!!!
Tell your guys to stop being so selfish and get discharged from the hospital already. Sheesh... some people, right?

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 6) = 17
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 6) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 6) = 18
I wanted to reroll my stats if that's okay. If not, let me know!
Totals are...
16, 17, 18, 14, 12, 17

Jaeger di Angelo |

Hmm looking at Cid...I'm guessing Wakizashi and Kukri? If so why not just two wakizashi?
Also 3 feats? I'm guessing dropped hero points but I'm not sure for the third.
And last I expect people to look over Jaeger and make sure I didn't forget anything as well.

Jaeger di Angelo |

Bah I need no rolls! Also Jaeger's sword version 2.0
I wanted a double edged blade instead of a curved blade because...we'll just because really and I'm damn happy with how it came out.

Kieran Crane |

Thats fine to reroll, but the same offer is open to anyone else as well! :)
I know that having super uber stats can make things less dull but with this campaign your gonna need them! Rawr!
Word. I'm gonna update my sheet with the stats I rolled on the previous page :-)
Picked Riftwarden Orphan as the trait, will have background up later. Already pretty interesting with her being the child of two Riftwardens and having Silver Dragon heritage as well as being an Aasimar.
E-gad! Her blood sounds ridiculous! How much do you think it's worth? Blood mages have some pretty deep pockets...

Cedeleon "Cid" Reave |

Ah, the third feat I believe comes from opting out of two traits and gaining a feat. I believe that was rule for Cori in the previous game. Does that homebrew rule not carry over, Cori? So yeah, one feat for first level, and one for opting out of hero points. I'll wait to hear on the third.

Cedeleon "Cid" Reave |

The Slayer would be neat, and anytime I do a gestalt game, my primary choices are Ranger/Rogue. But I'm thinking Ninja will be better for me. It's something new and I love the Ninja's ability to maneuver throughout a battlefield. Plus, it would be easier keeping Cid out of sight, whether in a town or outside, if I were to encounter any drow-hating bigots (though Cid equally thinks other races are less than his).
And dang, I did not even look at the rules for Wakizashi. Definitely taking those instead, or using a katana in my primary and wakizashi in my off-hand. I'll predominantly be using ranged attacks, though. Thanks for the heads up!

Cedeleon "Cid" Reave |

Oh okay. So if decide not to take the campaign trait, can we still take a Mythic Path? I didn't know the campaign traits counted as normal traits. If I can opt out of the campaign trait and still take the Trickster Mythic Path, then I will do that. Because with that third feat, my drow spell-likes are all at will, including levitate and feather fall. Not to mention detect magic becomes constant. ::melts::

The thing with D&D characters is that they tend to level up. Just wait, you nerd! ;-)

Kieran Crane |

*makes you*

Kieran Crane |

Readies action to: CRUSH. KILL. DESTROY.
Lol! I'm calling you later and we're going to work on a background together, deal? You can be Tango, dibs on Cash!

DM Corerue |

Not taking the WotR Trait won't stop you from becoming Mythical.
But the traits tie you in with some of the events in the adventure. Hence why it is strongly recommended. But it seems your going Anti-ANTI-Hero eh? lol
o.O; Don't be killing each other too quickly, save some of that energy for the demons! ;)

Kieran Crane |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

No need to worry, DM. Me n' Tyrn go waaaaaaaaay back. By now he knows I can take him in fisticuffs any day of the week. He jus front'n. ;-)

Kieran Crane |

Quick question: If I wanted to get Heavy Armor Prof, would I need to take the feat or do you house rule to buy proficiencies with traits or skill ranks?
I know, I know: Armored Rager; I'm just not too thrilled by the archetype. Besides, I'd only need the proficiency so I could wear mithral. I just like the aesthetics of heavy armor :-)

Jaeger di Angelo |

Will you really need your spell-like abilities that powerful at level one? I mean I doubt there will be that much need for it. So it'd probably be better to take the traits I've been told they also get better as the game progresses. To the point where they are essentially feats.
Also can I have stolen fury apply to feint checks? I know they are technically not combat maneuvers...but they are treated like one in ever other way.

DM Corerue |

They have a new playtest Advanced Class book out, I suggest you guys take a look at it and maybe something might spark your interest. Best look now instead of later! ;D Besides we have an excellent adventure path to test them in. Hopefully it isn't getting too boring with the well rounded characters we are pumping out. :(

DM Corerue |

As posted in the other game thread I am a bit hooked up but I will get this started on friday or by weekend's end so if you want us to incorporate the playtest then sweet! If not thats fine too but we will get this on a roll. I don't have much time to look over your characters but I trust you guys to police yourselves because you are all just that awesome! Thanks and will continue updating you as best I can.

Jaeger di Angelo |

I like some of the new classes particularly the slayer but the Swordmaster is still the best fit I believe for Jaeger. Also if we got started Friday that'd be awesome cause I have the weekend off ;)

Kieran Crane |

In addition to my last question: Are we going to be using downtime at all?
And don't worry about rushing things along. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate already.

DM Corerue |

Yes there will be downtime, I will even make time for downtime but there are spots in the adventure for it. It has a few Kingmaker Esque moments. Hence Why I waited for up to book 3 because I wanted to see what else they would through into this epic adventure.
I don't know why but fighting demons, let alone an entire country full of them is awesome!

Nice! It's always cool to have spend some time outside of the dungeons. Kieran will probably want to bring his wife and kids up from the Riverlands to Kenabres after a while of campaigning so I figured I'd ask.

Dude, SERIOUSLY!!! The more I think about it, the more excited I get to start this campaign. It has this really cool, iconic feel to it. Been playing Diablo recently too so I can't help but see the similar themes.
Also, this will be my first PC that's neither Lawful Neutral (cuz LN is the best!) nor a self-righteous piece of s$$!. Kieran will have the temperament of a puppy dog. Just try not to piss him off, lol!

Kieran Crane |

C'mon, now. He'd be the best bro a guy could ask for! A standup bro-dude. Cid, on the other hand...

Ethyra di Angelo |

Don't take it personally, he pisses everyone off. It's something of a gift, or so he'd say. It arises even more so when he is deprived of his most precious coffee. If you think he's insufferable at midday imagine how it is in the early morning.
