You proceed forward and as you get close to the door a metal spear comes out of the wall and prods at Jordy delivered a shock of electricity when it hits.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 271d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 + electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 5

The spear came out trought the wall and then pulled back into the wall.

Illusion have always been tricky for me as I am never certain when to give players the save to disbelief but seeing as you have now seen the spear coming out of the wall I will allow a will save vs the illusionary wall at this point. It is not the entire wall that is an illusion only a small part of it.

Also roll init.

So Deranthil has Alarm Sense - This is Trap Spotter for magical Traps. I would like to propose that a shocking spear behind an illusional wail might be considered a trap? He also has trap spotter. I guess if the spear is wielded by an enemy its an ambush and not a trap, built just an illusionary wall might be considered a trap? No?

Jordy slaps his hand to his side and stumbles back a few steps. "It's a trap!" :D


Yes this is not considered a trap, it would fall into the ambush category

Looks like nobody made the will save. You can make another attempt by directly interacting with the wall or by spending a standard action to study it.

you all beat the enemy init so your up first.

Bastien tries to study the wall and throws a stone at it.


If you study it make a new save with a +2 bonus. Dc 20. If you make it you can see torugh the wall as if it wasn't there. You can see a Skum soldier with a magic spear.

Deranthil backs away warily from the spear wall and studies it for a moment.

I cannot find the map so do not know how close Deranthil is. He will not move as to provoke.


There is a lot of room to move around so no worries about provoking an attack.

Sorry for not posting in while but I was waiting for more player actions that never came. Only bastien and Derantil acted and Bastien still needs to re-roll his will save.

As a note the peeble trown by Bastien did go right trought the wall.

As a note making the will save allows you to see trough the illusion as if it wasn't there. If you don't make the save you can still walk trough the wall or attack trought it (at a 50% miss chance)

The door is locked and looks very solid.

After pulling on the door Joshua says, "Looks like we'll have to deal with that wall first." He then studies it for a moment and realizes it isn't there! "Albert! Get him!" he shouts to his alligator which looks back at him blankly.
