You proceed back to the grindylow cavern and this time make it all the way to the open area inside whitout any encounters. You reach the chamber were the grindylow queen was before and find her waiting for you here with all her remaining guards (8 grindylow soldiers)
"Your back already? I was not expecting you to return so soon." she says.

Skum are the most prolific and successful of the countless races created by the aboleths to serve as slaves. At the height of the aboleth empire, skum were legion and their armies waged many wars upon the land, yet now that the aboleths are in decline, skum have been set loose to manage on their own.
For the most part, the skum have been less than successful at this endeavor, and today they exist in a shadow of their previous multitude, most of them dwelling deep underground in slowly crumbling ruins left standing only because their enemies have lost interest in pursuing the now-won war against these fish-like humanoids. Skum have even lost their own name—only the most erudite and wise of their kind remember that they were once known as the ulat-kini. Today, most identify themselves with the racial epithet applied to them by the surface-dwellers—“skum.”

Gizmo doesn't quite understand the relationship between these skum and the grindylow, but figures this is a mystery that can be solved after most of them are knocked out.

@Dio I actually tought they were aberations at first but turns out they are in fact monstrus humanoids. However not much to say about them, they are bassicly just artificaly created frogmen. They can swim and hit things no special resistances or weaknesses.
Bastien swings but misses, derantil moves into position, Gizmo trows his bomb and many grindilow shriek in outrage when one of their own is hit and goes down. Jordy shoots but misses (assuming a -4 for shooting into meele) Dio also misses.

If we stay clustered together we should be able to focus fire on a single square with melee attacks. If we go 3-to-1 on attacks it should outweigh the miss chance. I'd be for it. I think you're right that it kills Sneak Attack, though.
I'm going to hold off on a move until we decide, though. Jordy will shoot if there's no mist, but will need to move up and switch to melee if there is.

Deranthil |

20% miss chance. I am against it and do not think the mist will belp. They can also focus and outnumber us. It could be good for retreating, but we are not there yet.

Jordy Vashnarstill |

Fair enough.
Jordy racks another bolt and fires at one of the grindylow who had charged forward, hoping to take it down.

Let's kill the skum first and see what the GLs do. They're not joining in right now so I'm thinking the queen has a plan for us.

I don't think I took another action either. Ignore this if I did

Four ugothol and three skum were left here to keep and eye on us and now you've killed them all so I plan to take whats left of my people and flee as far and as fast as we can go.
