Yep! Clever feint was amazing in this particular combat! I think at least two or three attacks would have missed by 2 or less (its KAC was 19).
Arc, all you need is a SFS number if you don't have one. I can assign the credit to a non-existent character, and then you can make that character from scratch (with your credit from this included) at your leisure if you ever feel you want to give SFS a try.
As for leveling up...
** spoiler omitted **
How do I get SFS number?

GM Cellion |

You can check out: https://secure.paizo.com/organizedplay/myAccount/ which should have some way to generate a new SFS number for you.
Or, I think I can generate a number for you. I'll have to work out how that works.

GM Cellion |

If "Jacob Behnke 606" is your character, then yes!

GM Cellion |

:)
Now I just need Sydney's info and I'll be off to whip up some chronicle sheets.

GM Cellion |

Level? Credits distribution?
:)
:)
:)
Allllright... its a bit early, but...
As for credits distribution, that's all on you guys! I think Isu has kept the Loot Log up to date.

woooootttt!
I will look at the loot log and determine credits per person. Thank you, Cellion!
edit: With 6 players, we are not getting rich. Total for items to be sold (and credits found): 9762. Divided by six, we each get: 1627 credits.
In addition, there are several items here that should not be sold, we should save them and use them. I have assigned them to a player so put them in your inventory:
Arc: Serum of Healing Mk 1
Spectre: Fire Extinguisher
Solaria: Medpatch, Holoskin
Sydney: Lesser Restoration spell amp, quick release sheathe armor upgrade
Ted: Serum of Healing Mk 1
Isu: Fusion Seal (I am planning on buying a two-handed blunt weapon to stick this on. In my other two hands I am going to hold an artillery laser so that is going to have awesome imagery, maybe not effective though.:) )

Cellion, when we have downtime at Absalom Station, do you remember if the game allows for retraining feats? I am not crazy about my selections. I never even used improved disarm and don't think I cleaved more than twice.
Also, I will probably get my venom spur surgical removed. That was a fun idea but pretty much everything is going to resist the low save on it.
edit: RAW, you can't retrain feats. Any flexibility on this Cellion? If not, no real biggie

![]() |

Wooooo! (that felt like a good place to level). :)
Make sure we sell the shirren-eye rifle, too. I think I had claimed it, but then realized it was a sniper rifle I'm not proficient with.

![]() |

Right, I put the weapons that no one claimed into the sold list. Though if someone wants one, speak now or forever hold your peace.
I found a great google-spreadsheet that lists all of the Starfinder Equipment and you can sort it by level and weapon type and everything, really. It includes the Armory weapons.
I realize we are not back at Absalom Station yet, but I am doing some pre-shopping. Cellion, I am looking at the diamagnetic storm hammer, and it does both E and B damage. And then I'll plan on adding on the disruptive fusion seal to it.
Isu will also buy some batteries and a medkit, because I took 3 ranks in medicine. I am also considering a feat in Skill Focus-Medicine.
I won't have enough money for new armor, unless we get some from the Eoxian for doing our job in figuring out what was happening on the drift rock.

Retraining is absolutely in the game. You do it by using a Mnemonic Editor. That said, it is currently out of your item level range.
Since quite a few folks here were making characters fresh when we started and didn't have much experience with the system, I'll say that right now (at the beginning of the 2nd book) you can make any changes to your character you'd like. This'd include changing your feat selections, class features, etc. After this point, you'll need to buy a mnemonic editor if you want to make further changes.
Wooooo! (that felt like a good place to level). :)
Yeah! I thought that'd be a cool place to have the level up occur :>

![]() |

Thanks so much! That is great and helpful. Isu is going to keep cleave (maybe I will try to use it more often), but ditch Improved Disarm and take Step Up in its place. And then for my third-level feat, I'm taking Skill Focus (Medicine). Isu is going to be a combat medic!

GM Cellion |

A few comments:

![]() |

ah good! I need new armor!
I probably won't be able to save much. Not because I am extravagent, but stuff is really expensive and level 1 armor is NOT going to cut it. I bet it would be a hit on every roll.

I'm interested in what people gain when they level up.
Isu gets weapon specialization, so that is +3 to damage, and he also gets a gear boost, an extra 1/2 str damage to melee weapons... So his damage just got a 100% boost basically.
Also, mentioned it earlier, with a feat and skill ranks, my medicine skill has shot up to +8. Hopefully to give us a bit of disease resistance this time.

![]() |

I got Weapon Specialization too, and that gave me a boost for damage, plus I took the Coordinated Shot feat, so all our gunmen will get a small buff for me getting into melee!

Alrighty Boys and Girls! Book 1 has been reported and chronicles are available at this here link! Although my plan is to keep all chronicles I issue out there and available, its still good practice to download your chronicle and keep it somewhere secret, somewhere safe.
Looks like people are mostly getting their level 3 updates out and ready, great!
@Sydney: Looks mostly good. One thing I noticed was that you have Shot on the Run (from taking the operative exploit "combat trick"). Since that exploit doesn't let you bypass prerequisites on feats, you wouldn't be able to pick that up yet (your BAB is +2 right now). Feel free to switch it out for something else interesting.

Solaria Jesari |

For leveling up, Solaria gets weapon spec for normal melee and small arms ... and an envoy expertise talent, as well as a feat.
For the talent, I'm toying with the idea that an extra 1d6 on medicine skill checks will be a good thing, (like my 1d6 for bluff and sense motive). Or use it for diplomacy or intimidate, but think they can wait for a level or two.
Haven't decided on a feat yet ... as she is skill heavy then I'll be looking for more combat or AC type feats. She won't ever be a real damage dealer, but is more a buffer in combat. Might even think of bodyguard.... but still working through.
Thinking might get a needler gun to shoot medicine into the melee guys, but its very expensive.
As for skills, she'll keep upping the skills she has ....

![]() |

Having two of us who can do decent medicine checks would be pretty great!

![]() |

For leveling, I also got weapon specialization. For my feat, I took Versatile Focus, so that now applies to all weapons I'm proficient with.
I should be more combat-effective going forward.
Some purchases should help, too.

I am going to Italy for 10 days for my 20th anniversary. I don't anticipate being able to post much, so feel free to bot!
Buona fortuna mentre me ne sono andato!

![]() |

I'm thinking I'll buy a Personal Upgrade (Mk1) for Dex.
That would help with hitting and boost my AC and Refl. I also got weapon specialization this level, so my damage should increase, too.
Thoughts on anything better in my budget?

Buona fortuna mentre me ne sono andato!
*jealous* (thanks for the heads up, and have fun in Italy!)
As for the purchase: I like the personal upgrade as the first big purchase on DEX based classes. Like you said, it helps in so many ways.

Solaria Jesari |

Have a great time in Italy and enjoy your 20th anniversary, sounds a great way to celebrate.
I'd go for boiled sweets ... ;-)

I was curious about the garaggakal and looked up the bestiary.
It said this: A garaggakal can’t phase through force effects such as force fields.
Maybe that is why the brown force field was supposed to be helpful? But phase through isn't the same thing as attack. right?

GM Cellion |

Yeah, not the same thing as attacking or even moving normally. It kinda looks like they might not have thought it through all the way (or the Garaggakal was some kind of entirely incorporeal creature earlier in development).

It is not comforting to know that an unnamed multitude of character deaths come from editing mistakes.

Sydney Jordan |

Note that the 800 creds you got earlier is the full pay, including the extra 500 bonus for retrieving the package. (if you recall, Grix arranged for some of the pay to be given as an advance)
So just to confirm because I'm terrible at math:
So the total profit per person of the mission was 800 credits total?
And the items that the party sold added to that 800 credits totaled to 1,627 per person?
I just want to make sure I don't unintentionally cheat by spending money Sydney doesn't have.
Btw, thanks Isu for doing all the hard work!

![]() |

You get 2427 credits. I distributed the 1627 on September 14, long before we learned we got another 800 from the ambassador.

![]() |

Hmmm...even with the bonus, it looks like I couldn't afford a noqual sword. It adds 2,000 creds to the base price of the weapon, which would put even a basic sword out of my budget.
It helps when fighting undead baddies, though, which I understand we'll be dealing with a bunch of when we eventually visit Eox...

GM Cellion |

Hey now, why would you EVER think you might end up fighting undead baddies. Pretty sure the rest of this campaign is nothing but a long crusade against alien super-dragons. No undead. Definitely not.
For real though, Noqual is pretty expensive for making weapons out of it at low levels.

![]() |

Hmmmm...
I can say from Isu's experience that we have enough credits to get a level 3 weapon and a level 3 armor (with a small bit left over).
The weapon won't make as much of a difference because it is just slightly better than my level 1 weapons, but the armor difference is HUGE! Does your solarian amor keep up with approximately +5 to a +8 range? Cause that is what my armor is doing. Does buying armor do anything for you at all?
If you don't need armor, then the ability crystal makes sense.

![]() |

I'm still trying to decide whether to go with a longsword or a devastation blade in the future. My initial plan was devastation blade, but at higher levels longswords outpace them...of course it's suboptimal either way since I'm deviating from the recommendation of the build I'm using to use pikes as my primary melee weapon...

GM Cellion |

Honestly, as Sydney says, trying to focus on a single weapon "line" like longswords is not the best. Stuff you pick up sells for only 10%, and new weapons are very expensive. There's a strong incentive to make use of what you find instead of expecting to buy new stuff constantly.

![]() |

How do I know if we'll FIND other swords, though? I don't want to swing around a sword and have that become part of Arcalinte's aesthetic only to find hammers for the rest of the campaign!

![]() |

So what do you folks think? One-hander or two-hander? Or should I perhaps ditch Plasma Sheath (which was my next planned Solar Revelation) and use a Plasma Sword so I can have a LIGHTSABER?! I can't decide, and I want to make the decision before I do shopping!

![]() |

I have never played a solarian, but listened to a podcast review of them. The people on it were really negative on solar armor, didn't think it helped whatsoever, and basically told people to go the lightsaber route.
So you might want to read a review or two, that might help make your decision.

![]() |

Oh I don't know, Hiruma Kai's guide here seems to make good use of it. I'm actually using his Versatile build as the basis for Arcalinte's development! Not to mention if you want to play with guns, the Solar Weapon's basically useless.

I assume Sydney will be spending her week with the Maiden, updating its outdated stuff and getting it all shined up for our adventures? :)
