i think my first object would be a +1 spellstoring mithril chain shirt. with you doing the job how much would it cost me?


grim will propose that all melee people get spellstoring armor so that Raj can fill them up with nice juicy damage spell :)


Grim your dealings in the black market among other things give you 150 gold a month. 1800 Gold for the year. That will keep rolling in as you adventure.

Raj will of course have upkeep costs and other problems come along in his shop after this year is over.

Kuralakk You are probably a little treasure light but it will even out soon. If you just got a +1 ring that is only 1000 gold right?

Spell Storing::
A spell storing weapon allows a spellcaster to store a single targeted spell of up to 3rd level in the weapon. (The spell must have a casting time of 1 standard action.) Anytime the weapon strikes a creature and the creature takes damage from it, the weapon can immediately cast the spell on that creature as a free action if the wielder desires. (This special ability is an exception to the general rule that casting a spell from an item takes at least as long as casting that spell normally.) Once the spell has been cast from the weapon, a spellcaster can cast any other targeted spell of up to 3rd level into it. The weapon magically imparts to the wielder the name of the spell currently stored within it. A randomly rolled spell storing weapon has a 50% chance to have a spell stored in it already.

Strong evocation (plus aura of stored spell); CL 12th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, creator must be a caster of at least 12th level; Price +1 bonus.

This? Because this is a weapon enchantment

the perfect suit would be two +1 spells storing dagger and a +1 spells storing armor.

allowing me (if i am hit) to discharge lets say for sake or argument

3 empowered/intensified Shocking grasp (Raj @ CL 5th = (3*5d6+5) 15D6+15 or 3 vampiric touch :) on top of my damage :)

[Disregard]The armor you outlined would be a DC 22 Spellcraft for me, since I fail to meet 2 requirements, (caster level for bonus and caster level for ability), both of which impose a +5 to the spellcraft DC. I have a spellcraft bonus of +13, so I would have a slightly better than 50% chance of making this on my first try, but also a 20% chance of ruining some materials. You'll probably want to wait until I am 6th level for this, since the penalty for caster level for bonus will no longer apply and the DC will only be 17, and I'll have a +14 spellcraft. If you are willing to take the risk of having to pay for more materials, I'll try it though. [/Disregard] :D

The cost for me to enchant armor to a +2 bonus is 2,200 gp, and the cost to enchant a weapon to a +2 bonus is 4,400 gp. If the armor is already +1, it will cost me 1,650 gp to get it to +2, and if the weapon is already +1, it will cost me 3,300 gp.

Loading up you guys with a couple of shocking grasp or frigid touch spells would be kind of fun though...

EDIT: Hey, a misread of the rules goes in our favor this time!

From the core rule book:
Caster Level for Armor and Shields: The caster level of a magic shield or magic armor with a special ability is given in the item description. For an item with only an enhancement bonus, the caster level is three times the enhancement bonus. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met.

So only one +5 penalty, so turns out I can make this fairly easily at this level. Cost is the same as outlined above.

I will be binding either a couple of mephits or a Janni to run the shop while I am away once I am 7th level (assuming we're in the area).


oh and Haja the spellstoring cheese is way less cheesy than boots of speed + Bane Baldric

Boots of speed = 10 round of an extra attack => 10*3d8 (Grim @5th) = 30d8

Bane baldric = 5 round of Bane (when combined with haste Not TWF) => 5*2 (attacks cause of haste)*2d6 => 10d6

so for 22k of real swiss/french cheese => 30d8+20d6

and on somone who can TWF add some italian extra 10d6 cheese.

My tabletop game is today so I'll make this post now but I can retcon anything in it later if you guys disagree.

Selling all the items in the loot log (except the silversheen and potions) will net each party member except Kuralaak 2323GP.

Hajar will give 600gp to Raj for him to enchant his Plate Armor.
Hajar will buy a wand of CLW for 750GP (I think it heals 1d8+3 per use?)
The other 1000 or so GP Hajar will spend fixing up the Church and Monastery.

Raj can you make this item from the LoF players guide?

GM, I added a MW Composite Longbow +3STR to my sheet. I didn't bother figuring out how much and deducting since I had about 1300gp after everything. I currently however am operating as if I have 0gp. Anything Hajar would have left after making the purchase of Armor and Longbow he would have given to the church for restoration costs.

The Falcons Hollow game is going great. The party is finished with the first module and we are wrapping up some loose ends. We will probably move into D1 (Crown of the Kobald King) this week.

I made some changes to NPC Naziri. As far as I know he wanted a +1 Keen falchon and I figure he would bump his STR to 18 so thats what I did. I will continue to NPC him until he can come back.

Rules Question time!

Does the spell Magic Circle Against Evil affect people only as long as they are within the circle, or if people present during the casting leave to they still keep the protection from evil effect?

It's pretty straightforward. Its a 10' radius from whatever creature is touched so only if they are inside the radius.

Ok, it just got a little confusing when it talked about when people went in and out of the circle.


Rule answer.

its a circle centered on a target. when you are inside the zone you get the bonus. you go out of reach you lose them. you go back inside you gain it back.

Specific area protection / buff sometimes have specific rules like the invisibility 30' spell


Ok Naziri is MIA.

For the time being he is going to escort the slaves back safely. If Naziri the player comes back he will have his spot back no problem at what ever level you guys are.

Until then we need some new blood in this game. What are your thoughts open recruitment?

As long as the person can commit to multiple daily posts..... I'm ok with anyone and any class. Grim and I have melee covered, Raj has arcana, Kuralaak has ranged. Divine spellcaster maybe? but not necessarily
