While Wreck seems to be taking the opportunity to relax and enjoy an exotic vacation, Maps spends his days at the tiller, eyes narrowed like a cat in a dogyard. The closest thing to relaxing is when he sits in the middle of the boat and cleans his guns (a second, older pistol is kept somewhere deeper beneath his coat) and checks his powder and alchemical components. He doesn't enter into conversation on his own, and uses few words when others attempt talking with him.
To Ciarra, he nods and gives the briefest of acknowledgements. "Hmm."

A band of mounted Mutabi-qi raiders spots the PCs as they enter the basin. Thanks to the slow current and bends in the river, the raiders are able to catch up to the junk while staying out of sight behind the hills to the north.
