30 combat trained 3.5 defense points
with 10 men the work is going extremely slow. It seems like you will need 3 times the men and someone with working knowledge of engineering or woodworking/traps
2 people done for day 2.
We are half way through the scenario...can we finish this relatively soon?

![]() |
Of course.
Zinkio will trained the most men he could, then switch to help where he could.
Zinkio have no Know. Engineering nor woodworking/traps. So I can scout with some non working men.
On 50 men, 40 are working of the fields help by Alie and Gregor, 10 are trained by Zinkio with the help of Ciarra. Am I right ?
So day one :
Training 10 men completely : 2 days
Working on the fields (6 day => reduce by 2 with the help of Alie and Gregor and by another 2 with the help of twenty men) => 2 days
Day 2
working
Day 3
End of training 10 men, End of working on the fields
=> Training of another 10 men (Zinkio with the help of Ciara)
=> left 50 men with the help of Alie and Gregor to flood the fields
Day 4
=> Training men
=> flooding ? working barricade ? training more men ?

Alie keeps taking ten on Know. Nature for a total of 15, to help with the fields, first bringing in the crops and then flooding the fields.

![]() |

Assuming Zinkio's summary is accurate...and thanks for doing that by the way!
Day 5 (or once the fields are flooded)
Gregor will spend the day training posting 10 villagers as scouts. Gregor will work with them for the first day.
Day 6 Although not a marksman, Gregor nonetheless has a decent eye for archery. Gregor will spend the time necessary to train as many villagers as he can.
Not sure what the balance will be on the number of villagers available and free time...

![]() |

the next day the crops are brought in by the end of day 3.
Gregor for your day 3 actions can I get a perception roll with a +2 bonus.
and we are at 40 men with a total of 4 defense points.
Lets move to day 4...
I already have actions from gregor and Zink
side note: only 10 more people can be trained in combat.

I'm not sure what Alie has a skill to help with now, so I'm going to make a random roll. Please add any modifiers, if there is a skill she can use to help in some manner. Thanks.
Dice 1d20 ⇒ 8

You know when the bandits will arrive. The villagers have been combat trained, the harvest gathered and the fields flooded.
You have not trained them in archery nor constructed barricades. If you can provide good reasoning I might allow another skill instead of knowledge engineering for the barricades.

![]() |

How about using Intimidate to train the archers? Gregor and I are both pretty good at that skill. Could we get them to practice archery extra hard by yelling and pushing them with Intimidate?

![]() |

Ok, so just to be clear we are forgoing the barricades.
The day has been long and tense, as Nesting Swallow finds itself waiting for the sword to fall. Villagers spend shifts keeping watch over the hastily erected, crude bamboo walls surrounding their village, and constant reports of the enemy riders’ movements. As the sun sinks below the western hills, the sharper-eyed among those manning the bows report a number of riders forming into groups along the roads; these reports are soon proved true as the sound of hammering hooves comes out of the twilight, and the dusk erupts with tengu warriors riding toward the village. And so the battle begins.

GM can we have a resume of the result of our actions ?
Seeing the tengu warriors riding toward the village, Zinkio gave his wand of Mage Armor to Alie and said
I think It's time Taking his new longbow he was ready to shoot at the bandit
he added to Ciarra and Alie
May be you can give them a speach to bolster their moral before the battle begin ? I'm not too good with words

Alie uses the wand on Zinkio, and uses her own wand on herself. With both of them improving their defenses, she was as prepared as possible for the battle.
Used one charge from my Mage Armor wand.
Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Alie's first action will be to cast Entangle a couple of different times to try and restrain the horses and slow the approach giving any archers the chance to pick off as many of the tengu as possible.

![]() |

yes, sorry. You have a pool of 3 defense points. At any time you may choose to use these points as an immediate action to be added to an attack, damage, ability, skill, saving throw or added to you AC for the next action. A maximum number of your level may be spent per round.
The group of 15 tengu bandits ride, the remainder get caught in the vines, towards the barricades firing arrows. As of right now they are about 100' from the town itself.

![]() |

My assumption is that Alie can't take any actions right now, as she is busy trying to Entangle as many as possible right now.

![]() |

How many Entangle spells did Alie have a chance to cast, DM? Needs to mark them off my sheet. If it were successful in slowing the tegu approach, she'd have wanted to cast as many as possible.

![]() |

We will say that it took two spells.
Gregor shoots at one of the advancing Tengu. Knocking it off its mount and to the ground unmoving.
The bandits close and are now within 30' of the town.
14 bandits remain in the first wave.
I will give you another round to act as they are busy with the combat trained villagers.

![]() |

If the Entangle spells are done, Alie will cast a magic missile at the closest tengu, preferably the one Zinkio hit.
Magic Missle 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) + 3 = 12
Third first level spell used today.

![]() |

Seeing the arrow pass too close for comfort, Alie casts Mirror Image, using her first second level spell of the day.
Number of duplicates created 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Zinkio called for help as he was badly hurt by a vicious strike of one tengu.
He fight back with all his strength but not letting his inner rage taking him
Furry with Dragon style: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Furry with Dragon style: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Another falls due to Zinkio's actions.
11 Tengus left in the first wave
Ciarra holds
Attack on Zinkio 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 11d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack on Alie 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 101d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack on Gregor 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 141d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Attack on Ciarra 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 01d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Confirm on Gregor 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Attack on Alie hits. There are six Alie's however. You need to see which one is affected.
Alie keeps blasting away with her magic Missle wand.
Damage 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6
