Dexter gives a cheerful gnomish cheer upon seeing his dinner become a reality right before his eyes.
Alright Arthur!! WAHOO!
Aldern, turns to look at you
Well done old chap! That was a mighty brave move! Not sure if it lives up to the mighty Ferdin's braveness, he gives Ferdin a wink, but it was mighty brave none the less!Come now, let us get back to...
He never finishes his sentence. Another mighty boar comes running out of the trees and attempts to gore Aldern after a mighty charge... apparently in a fit of vengeance. You had no idea that boars were capable of such feelings, but apparently killing someone's friend translates to all creatures as awful...
attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
damage roll: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
... Luckily, Aldern is able to drop to the ground just in time, causing the creature to sail harmlessly over his head!
DajellyMan
Well, Ferdin and Aldern are already flanking the beast, so you could step up and get the benefits of that flank...
and the flanking bonus brings yout attack up to 14, which is the creatures AC...
THE BOAR IS DEAD!
You all look around for a few minutes and determine there is no active threat to you all. You are a little winded from stabbing boars so well, and think it is high time Aldern makes good on his promise.
You all load the two boars into the cart, and start heading back to Sandpoint. Once again, Aldern seems to not really care about any of you, and only wants to ask Ferdin about his spear and battle techniques...
[ooc]Oh what the hey... you guys are only about 100 points away... let's go ahead and level up to level 2!
DajellyMan
yup, once everyone is leveled up we can move on
You all make it safely back to town and park in front of the Rusty Dragon. Aldern heads inside and finds Ameiko busily pouring over some maps in the back room. Seeming to ignore she is busy, he puts a pouch of gold in front of her.
we have brought back two mighty boars as I wish for a feast! I can cook up the boars on a spit if I can be welcome to your kitchens spices, all I ask is for tables and ale set up in the clearing out there. We shall celebrate sandpoints... Survivabity and welcome these new heroes!
Ameiko sighs and gives the man a dirty look, but then she cracks a small smile...
i do love roast boar... Ok. Let me know what you will need. A party we shall have!
And with that they busy themselves with oreparations
Thalrik Korun
Retiring to his room, Thalrik opened Quinks book for further reading. Noticing Rikka looking at him, he opened the door slightly.
"Fine, go running around for a bit. Come get me whenever the boar is to be cut, preferably AFTER everyone has had a peice. Id rather not have to bother with standing in line."
With an excited squeak, the mongoose practically flew out the door. shooting a grumpy look after her he yelled.
"Or atleast think REALLY hard about how delicious it is if you cant be bothered, maybe ill feel it enough to not miss out!"
Mumbling something about how items were far less trouble than animals, he brought his book back up to read.
Darlin Dayhammer
Darlin wanders over and reviews the maps of sandpoint and the surrounding area in their reserved room. "I wonder where the goblins can be found. We still have no information about why they attacked." He muses aloud while pondering the maps.
After a while he heads down to dinner and offers to help Amiko preparing the feast. After some preparation and a few tankards Darlin starts to enjoy himself and toast all of his new comrades.
Thalrik Korun
Darlins wondering out loud did not go unnoticed by Thalrik, but he resolved to return to his reading. "Hmm, yes, where ARE those goblins to be found? NO, keep reading, this is of no interest to you, just more trouble." However as time passed he found himself looking out at the map table more and more. Finally he couldnt contain himself. Walking to the map table, he started looking over the local area, digging through previously read books in his mind, for that one clue that would reveal it to him.
Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Knowledge(Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Arthur Brimstone
Arthur will relax in the common room of the rusty Dragon.
Once the party starts and plates are being handed out he will grab one stand in line to get a portion, grab a drink and bring it to Thalrik who is still probably studying.
Entering the Heroes HQ he will set the food down and return to the common room in order to get a plate for him.
DajellyMan
Thalrik, looking over the maps by yourself you are unable to really get any leads about the goblins besides figuring they probably live in the typical goblin places (the bog to the south west, the mountains and forests to the east)... but you do remember that the elven ranger Shalelu is staying in other room here at the Rusty Dragon, and she is the local expert on the goblin tribes, and could probably be a big help there.
The boars are roasted to perfection and copious amounts of wine and ale are brought forth. Bonfires have been lit in the square and many tables set up. Townsfolk are scurrying about, drinking and enjoying the delicious meal. Some bards are set up playing music, and the event seems to have turned into a raging party. Apparently the townsfolk needed a big break from reality...
Any townsfolk will make sure to give you all a huge thank you upon seeing you. Arthur, while you are waiting in line to get Thalrik's meal, you feel a familiar hand grab your arm. You turn to see Shayliss standing next to you, silently smiling.
Thalrik Korun
Arthur found Thalrik leaned over the map table, that usual scowl on his face as he scanned the maps. Arthur got the sense this scowl was one of frustration at his current research, instead of the general loathing of his surroundings. As the food and drink was set down, Thalrik looked up.
"Hmm, that wasnt really nessesary, I was just about to go outside with the rest of you. He walked around the table to pick up the offerings. "But it seems youve gotten a choice cut of flank here, so I shall accept. Tell me, might you have seen this Shalelu woman outside? I am debating whether I should head outside and search for her, or go to her room first." Noticing Arthur grinning and winking at him, Thalrik gave the man a surprised look. "What? No, no, you fool. I intend to inquire about the goblins and their current location."
Darlin Dayhammer
Darlin downs anything that will fill his tankard and makes sure to enjoy the feast. He catches Aldern for a moment. "Thank yea kindly sir for this invitation! It was a good hunt, and a most delicious feast!"
After a few more drinks Darlin begins toasting everyone, especially his new comrades and Amiko.
Thalrik Korun
Sitting outside by the fire, waves of Rikkas emotions crashing into him, joy, happiness and curiosity, Thalrik couldnt help but toast Darlin back. The dwarf did not settle for toasting once, or twice, but many more times. By the time the first boar was all but eaten, Thalrik could be seen sitting next to the stout bearded man, practically leaning onto him, one arm clasping a half empty mug, draped across Darlins neck for balance.
"Sssooo, you sssseee Darlin, what im tryin to *hic* tell ya iissss, what if thisss iss all just ssssoome game huh? You know? Like, what if itsss all jussst in sssomeones head right? Kinda makesss you wonder *hic* doesnt it?"
Releasing his grip on Darlins neck, he emptied his mug, losing his balance in the process and tumbling backwards off the log they were sharing as a stool. He could be heard from his prone position, laughing. His lack of practice with laughing was clear, an exaggerated "hihihihi".
Sitting on a rock in front of Darlin, Rikka had been swaying from side to side for the last hour, finally having fallen backwards as Thalrik did, apparently experiencing some sort of effect from Thalriks drinking.
"Oh wow Darlin, would ya look at the sssstaarrrrss tonight!? Come, lie down here with me, itsss ssssoooo *hic* beautiful, hiiiihihihihiiii!"
Arthur Brimstone
Enjoying his time at the party, Arthur will eventually tell shayliss: Would you mind helping me putting him into bed, i don't think he will be able to make it.
Arthur will gently grab Thalrik and gently escort him out to his room. There he will take his shoos off and tuck him warmly for the night. And gently put Rikka next to him.
outside Thalrik room arthur will quietly speak to shayliss: If you want i will escort you back to your house or you can stay here for the night.
Darlin Dayhammer
Darlin chuckles at Thalrik's tipsy ramblings, but absolutely loses it at Rikka falling over. "Oh that's a blessed sight. I never thought I'd see such a cute little drunk mongoose! That's the silliest thing I've ever layed eyes upon!" He gives arthur a hand getting Thalrik back up, then begins thanking everyone.
"I would never have imagined meeting such wonderful people as I have here. I have been welcomed and eaten and drunk with you all. On the morrow we'll sort out some goblins, and let there be no more intereference with any festivities! Good Night friends." he calls drunkenly, then stumbles to his bunk and falls asleep loudly.
DajellyMan
As the moon begins to descend once again towards the earth, the festivities finally begin to die down. Shayliss accepts Arthur's invitation to stay the night, and those not drunk enough to pass out find it very difficult to sleep with all the... ahem... motion... commotion... noise... everything.
Everyone seems to be relaxed, or at least inebriated. The town is at ease and peaceful for the first time since the attack. Seems the sheriff was correct in leaving you all here during his absence.
During the feast, Dexter and Ferdin, the only two not seemingly preoccupied with women or drink ;), find themselves enjoying some mead with Ameiko and Shalelu. Ameiko seems uncharacteristically drunk, and she absent-mindedly strums some simple chords on her instrument.
Shaylelu speaks directly to Ferdin
So... I wish to discuss some further issues about the goblin tribes... from what I can gather... all the local tribes have abandoned their tribal lands and are gathering somewhere... I have yet to deduce where... they seem to be using tactics to try and confuse our men. This concerns me greatly... goblins on their own are typically incapable of such organized battle tactics... someone very powerful must be organizing them... but I still cannot think of why they would choose to do this now... and why Sandpoint?... At this point, you notice that Ameiko is drunkenly falling out of her seat. At this point, Shaylelu will excuse herself and take Ameiko to her room.

During our conversation I would agree with Shaylelu that someone or something powerful is organizing the goblin tribes. Goblins are generally known to spend more time fighting amongst themselves, and are not the bravest creatures. Somehow this is tied into the theft of the remains from the crypt, but how they are connected is certainly a mystery to me at this time.
When the ladies leave I wish them a pleasant evening, and make my way to my room for another night of rest.
DajellyMan
Morning arrives all too soon, and everyone (mostly Thalrik) is feeling a tad bit of the ol' Hangover... unfortunately, you have no time to lay around and try to deal with this as evil is afoot!
You are all woken up rather suddenly by an elderly halfling maid by the name of Bethana Corwin (she is one of the regular staff at the Rusty Dragon). She is obviously upset, and she insists on speaking to all of you in private.
After everyone is awake and attentive she explains herself to you:
um..... well... in short... Ameiko is missing! I awoke earlier to start my day and I realized that Ameiko had not started breakfast yet. This was very strange because she is not the kind of lady to be late with anything let alone a meal for her customers... I thought maybe she had just had a bit too much to drink last night so I ignored it for a short while... but still on sign of her!
I got worried, so I went to knock on her door but got no response... Against my better judgement, I opened the door only to find her room completely empty! Even worse... I found this crumpled piece of parchment near the bed... a note from her older brother Tsuto! I am not sure if you all have met Tsuto yet... he does not usually show his face... he is um... well he has always been a troublemaker! Back when he was born, a year or two before Ameiko, it was a bit of a scandal... you see, he is a half-elf... and well... I am sure you all know that no one else in Ameiko's family is elven... if you get my meaning... he was raised at an academy and I don't think Ameiko even knew of him until she was a little older... I do know there is much bad blood between all of them... most notably Lonjiku and his wife's illegitimate son.
Um... here... the letter was written in the Tian language of Minkaian... but Ameiko has been teaching me the language the past several years... I translated it as best I could... here is the letter...
The letter reads as follows:
Hello, Sis!
I hope this letter finds you well, and with some free time on your hands, because we've got something of a problem. It's to do with Father. Seems that he might have had something to do with Sandpoint's recent troubles with the goblins, and I didn't want to bring the matter to the authorities because we both know he'd just weasel his way out of it. You've got some pull here in town, though. If you can meet me at the Glassworks at midnight tonight, maybe we can figure out how to make sure he faces the punishment he deserves. Knock twice and then three times more and then once more at the delivery entrance and I will let you in.
In any case, I don't have to impress upon you the delicate nature of this request. If news got out, you know these local rubes would assume that you and I were in on the whole thing too, don't you? They've got no honor at all around these parts. I still do not understand how you can stand to stay here. Anyway, don't tell anyone about this. There are other complications as well, ones I'd rather talk to you in person about tonight. Don't be late.
-Tsuto

You are all about 3 blocks south east of the glassworks...
Well, the Glassworks have been around since the town has been around! It is owned by Ameiko's family... rumor has it her father and grandfather and great grandfather and so on had ties to dubious groups in magnimar... but any proof of this has never showed its head. The glassworks is a great economic benefit to us here. The factory has many glass windows to showcase their capabilities, as well as to display their fancier items to those from the outside. There is a small shop that is usually always open to the public, and then behind that is the actual factory itself, which locals are not allowed to enter... from what I know, the delivery entrance is located closest to the ocean for the easiest of access. I believe that is the door mentioned in the letter, no?
DajellyMan
Her face grows pale
See... that is the thing... nobody has seen Ameiko's father's in a day or so now... and the Glassworks has been apparently empty and not running... but when I looked this morning... there was quite a bit of noise coming from inside and the billows are blowing smoke... I was too scared to look myself, and so I have come to humbly ask you all to investigate... I fear for my dear Ameiko's life!
Thalrik Korun
Thalrik could be heard groaning loudly from his position off to the side of the Group, nursing his hangover with both hands busily rubbing his temples. He was pale as a sheet, and if such a thing was possible, looked crankier than the any of the days prior, his scowl threatening to detach his lower jaw from his skull.
"Goblins here, missing people there, mysterious half Brothers and low-life parents. It never ends does it!" he grimaced as his own loud words worsened his condition.
"Well it seems like this is going to be par for the course as long as im around you people, so cant rightly say im too surprised." He sighed loudly before standing a Little to quick, wobbling on one foot for a moment before recovering from the sudden vertigo.
"Miss Ameiko is a level headed and practical woman, something I respect deeply, even if she is a bit frivolous with her estate." he gestured at their private free room. "That alone gives me all the reason I need to assist, even if the whole thing is as bothersome as ever. That and securíng myself some respite from Rikkas nagging." On his shoulder the mongoose whipped her tail in Thalriks face.
"I personally suggest we confront the factory both openly and covertly at the same time. Some of us go to the front door and knock while some of us wait at the backdoor. If nothing is amiss and this is all a missunderstanding, it will be a simple matter to explain. But should someone attempt to escape, we shall be ready for it."
He looked around at everyone.
"Any objections or addition? I would personally suggest the brawnier members of our group go to the back door while the rest of us go with Dexter to the front."
Ferdin Grenling

Hmmm... It would be a great shame if Ameiko is a victim of foul play. Let's go see what is happening at this glass factory. I will cover the back door. If I hear the sound of fighting from your direction, however, I will proceed to the front entrance with haste.
I loosen the hilt of my longsword in its scabbard, don my shield, and head out the door toward the factory.
Darlin Dayhammer
"I knew Sarenrae brought me here for a reason. We have saved the bar, now let us go find the owner!" Darlin gathers his equipment and snags a sausage from the kitchen as everyone prepares to leave, that he eats on the way to the glassworks.
"While I personally think we should walk in the front door... I am willing to follow the suggestions of the others."
DajellyMan
First things first... Dex, here are the results of your K. Local check
Dexter asks around a little bit, but mostly only finds information you all already know...
Except for a few key tidbits. Lonjiku (Ameiko's father), has not been seen around town lately, other than his sudden outburst at the Rusty Dragon the other night. He has never been a particularly friendly fellow, but being an important town figurehead, he is usually at least seen around regularly. His neighbor's claim they have seen him rapidly packing up his personal belongings, as if he was getting ready to move.
His neighbors also offer this: Tsuto, his late wife's bastard son, was also reportedly seen in town no more than a week ago. Apparently he stayed at Lonjiku's house for the night, as opposed to his sister's Inn. The neighbor's found this strange, seeing as it is somewhat well known of Tsuto's lineage and Lonjiku's grudge against him.
While you all decide how to go about entering the area, you notice the glassworks are curiously silent. Especially strange since Bethana swore she heard quite the commotion only a couple of hours ago.
The building is fairly rectangular, with an approximate area of 80 ft wide by 120 ft. (give or take a few here and there, the building isn't a perfect rectangle after all).
A quick inspection will give you a few things. First, all the doors are locked. Next, all the windows have the curtains drawn, and nothing can be seen inside. You do, however, notice a large glass dome that serves as the roof for part of the structure. This glass appears unobscured from where you stand. Finally, though silent, the chimneys are clearly billowing smoke.
perception checks everybody.
Here is the map will shall be using. PLEASE NO METAGAMING!
I couldn't find any map better than this... but the map... may have spoilers. So we are gonna work with what we got!. Assuming you have yet to spilt up, you are all currently at the main entrance, which is the round part of the building labeled "A1"
