Eastern US time zone. And, I couldn't get on the server to post yesterday evening. We had power outages due to a storm, and when we did have power I tried to post and found Paizo's server was not available. So, yesterday was not a good day electricity-wise...
Knowledge (local): 1d20 ⇒ 20
We thank you for your hospitality Ameiko! Sounds like there is more trouble brewing.
Ferdin accompanies the other party members down the street.
Dexter Quickwit
I'm on the eastern coast, it's 12:30 right now for me.
Kowledge (local): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
I am capable of making DCs above 10 because of my bardic knowledge.
Your very welcome, Ameiko. You didn't hire us for nothing!
Thalrik Korun
Thalrik had had just about enough of goblins for one day. Sweating and out of breath, his hair having escaped the confines of his headband into a tangled mess, he tossed his empty waterbucket on the ground. Doing his best to straighten out his clothes and hair all while slapping at the last few embers where his cloak had caught on fire, he looked up at Arthur as he showered Ameiko with compliments.
"Dont be daft man, she would have been surrounded and killed, had she faced them alone. Thats basic tactical assessment. Im a scholar and even I know that. We dont have time for blustering flattery, let alone of the blatantly false kinda. And further more.."
The scream interupted his rant, his scroll flicking into his hand. He looked at it, surprised at his own apparent instincts.
Realizing everyone else was already scrambling down the road towards more trouble, he hurried after them.
DajellyMan
Before everyone started towards the scream...
Dexter and Ferdin:
Everyone is town knows that Ameiko is notorious for shutting down all suitors. She refuses to marry or date, and is a staunchly independent and strong woman. If anything, she is insulted and weary of Arthur's proposal, series or not, and she certainly won't forgot that he had the balls to cross that line with her.
DajellyMan
The sound of battle seems to be dying down, the rare clang of swords and the shout of the city guard can still be heard, but much less frequently. Dead goblins (and the occasional dead towns person) litter the streets.
Following the screams you have heard, you all soon find yourselves in another open market square. The area has clearly been ravaged by battle: debris, bodies, blood, and general chaos dominates the view.
In the middle of the square there is a horrible sight... a handsome, well-dressed man in cowering behind a rain barrel before what must be a goblin chief riding a top some sort of sick, twisted, rat like dog creature. The man is accompanied by a lovely, albeit scared looking hunting dog who is attempting to fight off the goblin(this is the obvious target of the goblin commando's attack... EVERYONE knows goblins hate dogs). Three other goblins are also within sight.
As you approach, the goblin commando shouts DIE DOG DIE!!!as his blade slices right into the noble dog's chest, and the creature collapses to the ground. Nobody seems to notice the party as the goblins are distracted by their kill, and the man is paralyzed by fear.
Thalrik Korun
Leaning sideways towards Ferdin, Thalrik whispered to the eager warrior.
"Hold still for a second."
Tracing his fingers along the script on his scroll, the arcane words dissolved into sparkling embers. The glimmering sparks gathered around his hand, dancing around his fingers.
Touching his hand to Ferdins shoulder, they rushed over the mans body, before fading, seemingly being absorbed by his skin and armor.
Nothing seemed to happen for several moments. Then Ferdin started growing.
Since there was no mention of Initiative, im taking the liberty of casting Enlarge Person on Ferdin. The spell is a Full Round Action, so if this turns out to trigger a Surprise Round, Ferdin has to not move during it, or the spell will fail.
Also adding an Initiative roll in anticipation (I mean really, who here is expecting a diplomatic solution?)
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Arthur Brimstone
well the goblin is going to try and kill the man in the next few seconds, so we really don't have that luxury to discuss a battle plan. I figured that Gerdin, Darlin and i will try to have the jump on the goblin, while dexter and thalrik will shoot at it from range.
DajellyMan
Hmm... it is unclear if the goblin is aware of the man or not. All you can tell for certain is it was certainly aware of the dog
But I digress...
Arthur charges at the goblin commando with much might and gusto. Waving his club above his head in a fury, he strikes at the baddie.
Alright, so we are going to consider this a surprise round, all enemies are flat-footed currently and you will all go before they do
ENEMY INITIATIVE
Goblins: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Goblin Commando and Goblin Dog: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Thalrik Korun
Round 1
Knowing the man stood little chance on his own, Thalrik hurried to his side, his Mage Armor affording him some protection. As he went, he spared an appraising glance at the dog, checking if it was alive or dead.
Double move to L 11.
Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Surprise Round:
Ferdin stands motionless, but amazed. He has instantly grown to twice his size, and his equipment has grown along with him! Then, a shimmering magical field surrounds him...
Round 1:
Ferdin charges to R12 and attacks the Goblin in R14. His size allows him to attack from a 10 foot reach!
Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Damage:1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Argh!
Darlin Dayhammer
Darlin will pause a moment and cast shield of faith on himself, then move 20 feet south. "I will distract the chief, you all take care of the other goblins and the nobleman, then help me finish him off!"
The plan is to cast command on the goblin commando next round, forcing him to attack me with my really high AC. That will give you all a round or two to kill the other gobbos, then we can flank him and finish this off!
DajellyMan
Darlin Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ok, so the order for combat is...
1. Thalrik: 22
2. Goblins: 21
3. Arthur: 20
4. Dexter: 18
5. Ferdin: 14
6. Goblin Commando: 11
7. Darlin: 4
As of now, Dexter, you still have an action in the surprise round and then we will start with Thalrik at the top of round 1.
DajellyMan
Surprise Round:
Arthur takes a step to the side, and invoking the power of oracle mystery, lays a glowing hand upon Ferdin. Ferdin then begins to glow with a faint aura, and he feels a great protection has been laid over him from the beyond (Shield of faith: +2 AC).
Ferdin, finding himself now not only enlarged, but also under even more divine protection, shows a rather smug and triumphant grin on his face. Finding great joy in his large form, he rushes towards the goblin commando and swings his now gigantic sword at the baddie... but all his pride is for nought, as he mighty blow swings over the goblin's head, creating a massive *whoosh!* as it glides through the air.
Thalrik, somewhat surprisingly, rushes to the aid of the lone nobleman who is cowering behind a rain barrel. He casts a cursory glance at the quite obviously dead dog, and gives it an almost sadistically nonchalant look. He grimly realizes the dog is obviously dead and mutilated... damn, dirty gobs.
Darlin says a silent prayer to the Dawnflower and invokes her protection. He then moves to the south, shouting advice to his new companions.
Alright, besides Dexter, that does it for the surprise round, so it would be back to Thalrik, (But, as I've said before, don't worry about order to much, just post your turn and I will figure out when it all took place :P)
Thalrik Korun
My Enlarge Person didnt eat up my action for the surprise round? Well hot damn, ill take it!
Readying his hand on the vellum, Thalrik prepared himself for any goblins approaching his position.
Ready Action, to cast Color Spray from scroll (DC 11). Will wait untill two are in range if possible, although he will cast it at a lone goblin if no better opportunity presents itself.
Darlin Dayhammer
Darlin will 5 foot step to Q9 and mutters a prayer to Sarenrae before calling "Come to me oh beast!
Casting Command, DC 16 will save, using the Approach command. If the goblin commander fails his save he has to spend his entire next action moving as close to me as he can, and he triggers AoOs normally from doing so.
Dexter Quickwit
Surprise Round:
Dexter pulls out his lute and screams, "You and your kin will pay for what they did here today!"
Round 1:
Dexter begins to play a song of valor and glory. He runs forward toward the goblins to U6.
All allies who can hear me receive a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
DajellyMan
Surprise Round cont.:
Dexter rummages around for a quick second and pulls out his lute from his pack, cursing the goblins and their foul deeds.
Round 1:
Thalrik begins motioning with his hand, readying a spell from his awesome wrist sheathed scroll.
The goblin minions, somewhat taken aback by the sudden appearance of the party, begin forming into attack formation. One gob circles around Ferdin to flank him. He looks up at the now giant Ferdin with a noticeable lack of fear, and then stabs at him with his goblin cleaver..
Goblin Attack Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Goblin Damage Roll: 1d4 ⇒ 4
... Ferdin gives a small shout of pain as he takes 4 damage
The other two goblins give each other a knowing look and a thumbs up... they then rush to each other's side with one goblin climbing up onto the shoulders of the other piggy back style. They shout at the party:
BWAHAHAHAHA! No one can stop SUPER GOBLIN!
Arthur shouts to the gobs Resistance is futile! You shall be decapitated!(Thalrik nods and says Make it so). He then charges the dirty creature in front of him, crashing his club down upon the goblin's head with such force that it does, indeed, decapitate it. Goblin is dead.
Dexter begins playing an inspiring dirge upon his lute, making his party rally to his song with great vigor and courage.
Ferdin steps up and swings his giant blade, but once again misses the goblin commando.
In retaliation, the gob commando rears up upon his goblin dog steed, and both of he and his mount fully attack Ferdin. With a mighty goblin roar he shouts: Stupid human! The lovely demon has foresaw this! Your intervention is only a small thorn in our great side! You shall never win!
Commando Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Commando Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Gob Dog Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Gob Dog Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5(and DC 12 FORT save)
Ferdin is able to avoid the bite of the goblin dog, but in the process of maneuvers out of its way, he opens himself up to the goblin commando's cruel goblin spear. He takes 9 damage, and then falls to the ground unconscious...
Ferdin Stabilization check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
... Yet he is stable and not currently dying.
As this happens before his eyes, Darlin quickly releases the divine energy of Sarenae and commands the goblin commando to approach him...
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
... But the commando simply laughs and says, Your god cannot help you here little dwarf!.
Sorry about the long delay in posting guys! I was just worn out and sleeping for a while, but no excuses I will be better about it from now on!
Arthur Brimstone
Take it easy Jello man, rest up as you need. the beauty of PbP is that the game continues at no matter what time you are available.
Round 2
Move to p13
Arthur Yell's something in Infernal that non of you seems to understand.
After what seems to be a curse in the same language, he point to the dwarf then to ferdin. After pointing to him and pointing his weapon at the goblin commando
Club: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 161d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Darlin Dayhammer
When it is Darlin's next turn he will rush down next to Ferdin and cast CLW spontaneously. "Hold fast friend, you are not done yet. "
Healing Ferdin1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Are you Freaking kidding me? Man the dice hate Darlin. Vagaries of being level 1 I guess...
Dexter Quickwit
