Sir Howard |
Rameth, thanks to your near-death experience you can now see Sir Howard, the hyena and hear them both.
I say, I say. Terrible when you find these ghastly things littering crypts. Still, not that surprising that the Nethysan...Nethysian? Damn, I just know I knew that description once.
He looks over to Azubah and tilts his head.
How do you describe Nethys' priests anyway?
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth sinks to the ground. Could use some more healing, but I think I am...what the hell?! There is really is a ghost buzzing along with us!
Rameth is dumbfounded.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Who you talking to, Rameth? Tell me it ain't Azubah's friend. Best get you patched up and moving before we are all turned into ghosts...or worse. I would not mind a tap or two from that wand meself."
The dwarf picks up his gear and offers to hand the staff to any that will take it. He turns to the eastern door.
"This way next?"
Azubah |
Before they move any farther, Azubah uses two charges each on Rameth and Dwalindor.
Rameth
2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9
Dwalindor
2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 2 = 9

"Nethysian"
"I would describe them as borderline heretics for allowing this practice of looting graves, to say nothing of their deceptions regarding the great god Aroden."
For good measure, Azubah uses a charge of the wand for himself

Calin Tinderfoot |
You guys sure this might not be a good opportunity to resupply and rest up for a bit? I'm out of healing and Tobbs is pretty banged up right now.
Calin gazes down the dark corridor
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Thanks Azubah. Might want to hit the cat once or twice...he helped too.. "
He turns back to the room...and runs into the doorframe.
Percept : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
" Who did that? What hit me?. "
Azubah |
"Thanks Azubah. Might want to hit the cat once or twice...he helped too.. "
"Oh yes, of course" Azubah says and he cautiously approaches the great feline. All the while he looks imploringly at Calin as if seeking reassurance that he would not become the cat's next meal.

Dwalindor the Pahmet |
That may not be a bad idea. Not sure how much deeper we will go here. If we have the 4 of us, we should be ok. If things get ugly, they could bring help at the first sign of major danger? Maybe like Lassie. "Quick Lassie...Dwalindor has fallen into the old well. Run and get help from the sheriff!" - or in our case the sleazy desert con man.
"This looks like it goes on a ways. What about these doors to the west? Lets check them too. As I said...I ain't a big fan of leavin' no doors behind us unchecked." he will walk back to the western double doors and check them as well.
Calin Tinderfoot |
Tobbs is wary of Azubah at first but sensing his benign intent allow him to approach.
Tobbs shows his appreciation for the healing with purr rumbling out in a deep base and giving Azubah a nuzzle that nearly knocks him over.
"I think that Tobbs has a new friend."
Calin casts Light on his spiked gauntlet and cautiously moves down the eastern corridor checking for traps (to H17).
Taking 10 on Perception to check for traps. Perception = 21
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth pops over and unlocks the door and the secret door
2d20 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6 each +10
And again 2d20 ⇒ (2, 11) = 13 each +10
And again 2d20 ⇒ (18, 13) = 31 each +10
Meanwhile trip clambers out of te pack and heads over and sniffs at tobbs
DMummy |
It takes you three tries to unlock the doors to the west, but the secret door doesn't have a lock on it, allowing you to push the door aside.
In the room revealed by the secret door a stone effigy of a humanoid figure stands at the north end, its arms spread in a gesture of supplication, or as if commanding an object to rise in the air. The figure’s face is devoid of detail, with only vague contours where the eyes and nose should be. An extensive series of hieroglyphs covers the western wall, opposite a stone bench that stands against the eastern wall.
Let me know which doors you guys are going through.
Rameth the Delver |
Rematch heads over and checks out the hieroglyphs opposite the bench
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 linguistics
Calin Tinderfoot |
Calin steps into the room (f15) and casts detect magic in a cone toward the statue.
Tobbs sniffs at Trip, curious as to why he has three heads... He then playfully attempts to pounce on Trip, misses and begins to chase him around the room.
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth will indeed take a rubbing.
Well Trip what's us think about the cat?
Rameth the Delver |
Was waiting on trip to reply
Trip the Death Hound |
Trip's three heads snuffle at the giant cat and you hear a mix between a growl and a whimper.
Clearly he doesn't like the idea of a cat getting as big as a horse.
He moves back to you and sits down, then his heads look at the statue and the back of the room and you see his fur stand on end and a deep growls come from his throats.
You can also swear you see his six eyes glow a little.
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth quickly draws his Morningstar and moves toward the statue ready to attack, if nothing moves he whacks it to be sure
DMummy |
As you approach the statue at the end of the chamber you hear the soft scrape of bone and movement reveals the long, sinuous skeleton of a large snake, its head a humanoid skull with a snake's jaws.

Rameth the Delver |
Well done Trip! Heads up folks!
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth charges, tired of this tomb
Mutated Morning Star: 1d20 + 8 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 1 + 2 = 27 for 1d8 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 3 = 13
Azubah |
Azubah rushes to Rameth's side(G16).
DMummy |
The monster reacts to Dwalindor's attack by swaying back and forth - a motion that's strangely hypnotic.
Azubah and Rameth, please roll Will Save, DC 15 - if your roll fails you're dazed for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 rounds. Calin, you and Tobbs are not in line of sight so you don't need to roll.
Dwalindor, Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Attack (Dwalindor, Lucerne Hammer): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Dwalindor tries to bring his hammer down on the swaying snake but misses the bones, cursing as another floor tile explodes under the hammer's impact.
Azubah |

Dwalindor the Pahmet |
as this thing looks skeletal, Dwalindor is using the hammer side of his weapon. Also if undead, add +2 attack/dmg favored foe.
"Azubah, what is this snake thing doing here? . "
Rameth the Delver |
what knowledge for this thing?
Rameth the Delver |
1d20 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 3 + (4) = 23
DMummy |
Rameth, you identify the monster as a Necrophidius, a rare and expensive construct created from the bones of a large constrictor snake and a humanoid head.
You remember two things about the creature; first, it is resistant to any slashing or piercing weapons and second that its bite can cause temporary paralysis.
Waiting on Calin, I'll bot him if he doesn't post soon.
Rameth the Delver |
Beat it with something blunt! Dwalindor your head will probably work!, and um...try not to get bitten. Seriously try not to get bitten.
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
"Gotcha boss-man . "
Dwalindor nods and then looks puzzled.
"You mean the head of my hammer, right? Rameth, my hammer's head? "
Rameth the Delver |
Well you haven't hit the dumb thing with the hammer so try your head, it;s bigger after all...
Good speech. Inspiring.
Azubah |
"Azubah, what is this snake thing doing here? . "
"The same thing everything here is doing: trying to kill us. It must be guarding something."
Azubah advances to the right of Rameth and swings his morningstar at the foe. D17

DMummy |
Calin charges down the hallway at the sound of combat, and proceeds to punch at the monster with the spiked gauntlets.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
His enthusiastic punches miss however.
All of Calin's attacks do piercing damage. One of you guys needs to hack a club for him off a support beam or something.
Azubah's morningstar does hit, although not as devastatingly as Rameth's.
Rameth is up.
Rameth the Delver |
Mutated Morning Star: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 - 1 = 27 for 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
To confirm Mutated Morning Star: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 - 1 = 8 for 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Rameth swings as hard as he can then quick draws a club and holds it out for their new companion as a move
