| Rameth the Delver |
easy trip! Someone clean me up. Rameth calls for prestidigiitate
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor offers Rameth a gently used handkerchief with an apologetic shrug.
"Sorry 'bout that, boss man. What's next?"
| Rameth the Delver |
thanks but I was hoping for some Azubah magic
| Azubah |
"That is a spell that I am not familiar with, regrettably."
With a wave of his hand, Azubah's greatsword vanishes into non-existence.
| Azubah |
"I see that your passing off the mortal coil has given you time to develop opinions on everything" Azubah says, dismissively.
| DMummy |
Two thousand years does give one time to think. Did you know, I've come up with the most marvelous recipe for currant jam. Sadly, I can't taste it.
Sir Howard brightens (literally) as he has a thought.
I say! You could make it for me and taste it! Do you know if they have currants in Osirion? Not that they wouldn't of course, it's marvelous and they have so many things here. You could make challah bread!
Howard natters on about what you could make for breakfast with his many, many recipes.
| Azubah |
Truly, Pharasma's Boneyard is a poorer place for Sir Howard's absence.
"Yes, we shall have to get right to that when we finish here."
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth wipes off as much as he can then scoops up Trip and puts him in his bag, then gathers his daggers
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor heads back to the east room we passed.
"Lets make sure we don't miss something."
He looks into the room...
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth follows and puts down trip to see if he sniffs Anythibg out.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19. He frowns as his enhanced shield fizzles out
| DMummy |
Dwalindor, you enter the room and the torchlight shows that the southern area of this large space contains a long stone table, two benches, and two wooden hutches. Just visible behind a partition wall to the north is a kitchen with tables, cabinets, and a stove in the corner. Around a corner to the south stands a stone enclosure with a rounded top and a hatch set in the front.
As you search through the hutches you see lots of earthen ware crockery and dishes and, to your excitement, a set of golden plates and tableware used no doubt for special occasions.
Dwalindor, you have discovered a set of formal dining ware, although you can't tell if it's made with gold leaf or solid gold. If solid gold it would be worth 500 gp intrinsically, or maybe more to collector.
Rameth, as you explore the cubicles you find a few curiosities in the acolytes rooms, scrolls in Ancient Osiriani, tiny statuettes and figurines that promote good luck or ward off evil and a small amulet of Nethys made out of the same sort of stones the giant statue in the cathedal.
Trip sniffing around is interested in beds and cabinets, but he scrambles up on the seat of the privy in the center of the cubicles and his three heads poke in and around looking for something interesting.
His heads raise up and bark happily at you at the new interesting smells.
| Sir Howard |
Well that's reassuring. No matter if they have one head or three dogs are interested in the same things.
He absently pats the head of the hyena.
Oh, hush, I think your great-great-grandson is doing just fine. Although where he's keeping all those weapons is something I just don't understand.
He sticks his head through the side of the privy seat and looks down.
No, still dark. Why are you laughing?
Azubah, you're beginning to think Sir Howard may not be all there.
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor points out the fancy dishes.
"Best leave them there for now...otherwise just get busted."
Laughing at the dog...
"Trip has a nose for crap!"
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
"Let's check out those there north rooms, Albus, Rameth? You guys ready? Unless you were going to go lookin' for powerful relics where Trip is pointin' HAH! " Dwalindor picks up his lucern hammer and starts heading that way.
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth takes a peak into the privy letting them light shine down into it. Assuming there is nothing he gives a piece of jerky cut into three to trip then heads north
| DMummy |
There is in fact nothing at the bottom of the privy, as it seems to have been unused for the last 2000 years.
Trip eagerly rips at the jerky, then spits it out as it is covered with sand from the sandstorm.
His six eyes look at you reproachfully for giving him tainted food.
As you enter the door to the north you find a sparsely furnished room which contains a bed frame bolted to the floor in the southwest corner next to a lacquered end table. On the opposite side of the room, a wooden desk has partially collapsed against the wall. Doors exit the room to the north, east, and south.
| Rameth the Delver |
bah toughen up pup! Rameth says as he scratches he heads
In the new room Rameth heads to check the desk
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 +1 traps
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
@GM - lol good one. It would not surprise me if Dwalindor missed something like that.
"What? More doors? At least none of them crazy dolls...yet."
| Rameth the Delver |
You mean this doll? Rameth pulls out the cat statue that keeps corpses from decomposing
He shakes it at Dwalindor. meow meow meow!
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor jumps back....then smiles.
"Don't do that! Why do you still have that thing? Trip! Get it!"
| Azubah |
Maybe Sir Howard isn't the only one who isn't all there.
| DMummy |
The desk is filled with decayed papyrus and fossilized reed pens, and you don't see any traps in the room.
Your search does determine that the door to the north is locked, and that it has recently been picked.
Trip barks at the statue and crouches on his front paws, his eyes following it as it bobs back and forth.
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth laughs and shakes the sand off some jerky and tosses it to trip, then he puts the statue away.
Seems like someone has been through this door. Lets move, carefully
Rameth checks his extracts and then opens the door that has been picked.
| Rameth the Delver |
like it is blocked from the other side, or magic? or the door has been jammed via disable device
Raeth inspects the door 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 again
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth picks the crap out of the lock
1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 1 = 12
then he tries again
1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 = 22
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor stands ready with his lucern lockpick should more finesse methods fail.
| Azubah |
"Shall we examine the doors off of this corridor?"
| Rameth the Delver |
sorry DMummy, this is my busiest week of the year!
Rameth examines the first door to the left!
1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 1 = 20 percep
1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 = 30 DD
| DMummy |
No worries, it was as much a way to humorously (well, I thought it was funny) remind you guys the post is live as it was prodding.
Which door to the left? (Coordinates?)
Per the updated map here, you've got two doors - one to the north if you move down the corridor at E5 and one heading east at I6?
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor follows a step behind Rameth, waiting for him to scout the way.
"Checking the doors sounds good. Let me know if I need to open any."
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Dwalindor checks the door to the east...i6.
"I don't like leavin no door behind us unchecked... "
Perception : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
" looks good to me... "
He opens it unless someone stops him.
| DMummy |
You don't see any issues with the door, and it opens without a trap springing.
As you enter the new room you see rows of stone shelves crowd the room. Most of the books and scrolls once stored here have disintegrated over time, but a few volumes engraved on more durable materials still endure. Numerous scroll tubes litter the floor of the room amid the dusty remains of ruined paper and papyrus.
You do find an unrolled papyrus scroll discarded on the floor that has what appears to be Ancient Osiriani.
You can roll Survival or Perception in the room.
| Azubah |
Perception
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
| Rameth the Delver |
Rameth takes a scan
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
sorry wrapping the busiest weekend of the year
| DMummy |
Are you reading the scroll Rameth?
Azubah, you find a number of scrolls scattered throughout the library that seemed to have survived. You'd probably have to spend a day organizing them but they may be valuable to a collector.
You also find two scrolls that make your magical sense tingle.
| Azubah |
Azubah reaches to pick up the scrolls and opens the first one.
"Magical" is all he says as some unseen wind kicks up the sand at his feet.
| Rameth the Delver |
Oh I was perceiving the room. Sorry!
| Azubah |
So what does scroll number 1 say?
