Is mounted combat a possibility? I ask because the Order of the Undying Sun expects its knights to be versed in mounted combat and have access to a horse of their own if possible. Will it mostly be a waste of money to purchase a horse with this gold? I'll certainly do it for RP reasons but I feel like most campaigns have few opportunities for fighting from horseback.
Edit: I'll just buy one, it makes sense to have it even if I won't always be able to use it.
Spending:
- Heavy Horse (combat-trained) 300 gp
- military saddle + 20 gp
- saddlebags +4 gp
- bit and bridle +2 gp
Total- 326 gp
- Masterwork Breastplate 350 gp
- Masterwork Longsword (adding quality to current sword) 300 gp
Total: 976 gp
- Silver holy symbol 25 gp
Total: 1001 gp, paying 1gp from pre-level up cash.

I will make sure this was a good investment... :-D

OK...here's the deal...
I have been working on putting together the next few encounters, compiling the info I need to run the encounters and I suddenly realized...I'm just not enjoying running Pathfinder RPG anymore.
The reason? Too much to remember...I know, it sounds wimpy...but seriously, I just don't enjoy the amount of prep work I have to put in to making it fun. And that's just it...I want ALL of us to have fun, including me. I just don't get the warm fuzzies from PFRPG that I used to.
Maybe I'm just getting older, or I'm ready to move on to something simpler. The fact that the group is only at 2nd level hasn't escaped me either. How much work could it be? Well, apparently more than I'm willing to give right now.
Anyway, I wanted to let you guys know that I really feel like trying something different. I began slapping together a Savage Worlds conversion of Midgard a while back, and I'm kinda getting the SW bug again.
I appreciate you sticking with me, but I can't justify the amount of prepping necessary for Pathfinder that I set for myself. Even with a published module I feel that too effort much needs to go into it, and my free time is dwindling as time goes on.
Therefore, I'm going to keep this game on a more or less permanent hiatus...maybe I'll get the itch later on. Life just seems to get in the way more often anymore, with my boys getting older (friggin' High School, man!) and lots to do (work, home remodeling, after-school activities, etc.)
Well.. I think I've rambled enough. I do hope you accept my sincere apologies for not continuing. Maybe someone would take up the mantle, as this was a neat group.
Best wishes guys. Thank you for listening.
