Appearance Oscar is a man of Magdar descent, just over six feet in height. He cuts a dashing figure with his well-groomed beard and hair coupled with a typically immaculate uniform. Over his armor he wears a white surcoat emblazoned with the Order's sunburst symbol to match the emblem on his shield. He typically wades into combat with a full basinet, but the white and yellow plumes in his helm easily distinguish him on the battlefield.

Background

Spoiler:
Oscar grew up the second son of a minor noble house in the Magdar Kingdom. Never the brightest boy, he nearly died at a young age when he was thrown from his horse and nearly trampled after getting distracted during one of his early riding lessons. Hobbled and confined to the manor while his broken leg mended, his grandmother would entertain him with stories of her brother- a brave knight in the Order of the Undying Sun.
His great-uncle Branik served for many years with distinction in the Order's Zobeck chapter house until the Great Revolt. While he fought valiantly during the retreat to Castle Stross (now Castle Shadowcrag), he was unaccounted for after the fighting ended. His grandmother speculated that he disappeared into the Margreve on some noble errand... but it remains a mystery. Oscar grew passionate about serving Khors and the Kingdom as a knight. Since his older brother was most likely to inherit his father's holdings (and, privately, the old man didn't think Oscar had the capacity to keep the family holdings in proper order unless he was married off to a much smarter wife), Oscar enlisted with the Undying Sun with his family's full support to follow in his great-uncle's footsteps and perhaps one day discover his fate, settling once and for all any rumors that Sir Branik may have deserted his post.

After finishing his time as a squire and receiving his spurs, Sir Oscar has spent much of his tour in Zobeck patrolling the Great Northern Road. Initially hostile to the city that he felt had dishonored his Order and family, he has since softened his opinion of the place and considers himself a protector of its people. Even if he feels a man of noble birth would be better suited to running the city than a fractious People's Council.

And all along it never occurs to him that perhaps history is repeating itself and the dark old forest may claim another brave knight...
