I don't think I could pull off Noro...
I have to admit..when I first read cosplay and ninja this is what came to my mind

Well I have a beard as well so it appears we will all be bearded women at this wedding!
I liked my ninja idea better.

Who wants to play a few short, module like games set in my world? These modules would jump from place to place in my world, and would run the gamut of levels from 1 to high (15-20). You can stick with one character or rebuild each time. I'll be running you through key moments in the world's history and some of the encounters my party is likely to face. If interested, check in at the discussion thread I posted earlier. :)
Olivius_Telraven |
Of course. I'm not trying to hurry anyone (though I am eager for feedback), I just thought this method would provide better feedback on specific aspects of the game. General feedback is always appreciated, whether it be on my world, GMing, or my general play style.

Tch. You guys are no fun. :p
Gideon, I'll hop over to your discussion thing. I actually have a bit of time now :D
Olivius_Telraven |
I'd like to start one of the posted scenarios next week, if possible. You don't have to give me general feedback then, but I'd like to start my encounter design instinct testing then.

Olivius - I'm interested, just swamped right now :)
All - I recently found two plugins which have become must-haves for me. I don't know if anyone already uses these and I'm just late to the game, but in case you aren't aware:
Lazarus form recovery will save whatever you typed in your text box in case you close the form,it crashes or paizo is down. It's saved my bacon numerous times!
Paizo campaign tools reorganizes the campaign tab to more effectively fit on a single screen and highlight new posts in yellow.
I use firefox, but both addons are also available for chrome:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/lazarus-form-recovery/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/paizo-campaign-tools/

I have Lazarus on my computer. Has saved me most during character editing when I exceed the stupid 30 minute time limit backtracking thing. I tend to do that less on the phone so I don't notice it as much.
I haven't installed the campaign tools one. Might have to check that out.

Those plugins look really neat. I wish I'd known about Lazarus ages ago!

I LIIIIIIIVE!
Okay, melodramatics aside, I have some good news. I'll be trying to get this rolling again over the weekend.
Posting is going to be slow since a major (as in over 5000 individual items that I have to make sure get ported correctly) project is coming up.
However, I think I have things straightened up enough for me to pick this, and two of my other games back up.
My goal is to have all three up by Monday and get at least a post in one of them a night. This is going to be slow, but it should allow me to keep all of the games moving at something approaching reasonable.
Again, I apologize for the interruption. It is entirely my fault, and I am working on never having something like that happen again.

True, true. But hey! If you gotta be sickened, no better reason then you threw down a dozen ales my friend. Style, STYLE I SAY.
Noro Kas |
I can't believe Noro isn't with ya there Thirzin... I guess when you are confronted with someone that physically and emotionally tore you down, its hard to get back into the groove.
but at least Noro is not Fatigued (sorry not rubbing it in or anything like that)
DM-Salsa |
Okay, going to move this along Monday. I'll be sending PMs to anyone who hasn't posted here yet.
DM-Salsa |
Not a problem. I know it's a holiday weekend, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. Hope you have safe travels.
On an unrelated note, I'm working outlining a novel (Still debating if I'm going to write it or make it a graphic novel and draw it) and I'd like some feedback on the basic premise.
An ancient evil is threatening the world once again, and has kidnapped the twin sisters of one of the protagonists to use in his plot. That protagonist teams up with the other protagonists to take him down. The twist is that the other protagonist is the brother of the main villain and actually helped him almost burn the world to a cinder five thousand years before the story takes place.
There's more to it, but I'm still working on the outline and I was just wondering if this has been done to death or not, or if you guys had any suggestions.

Okay, assuming that we're not selling the health potions and the magic weapon oil, the total comes out to 1,465 gp.
Breaking that down to individual player amounts gives all seven of us: 209 gp, 2 sp, 8 cp.
That was what I tallied back in August. If we split that 8 ways, that would be 28 gp and 2 sp a piece. Did anybody spend gold since... I think it was after the fight against the Green Mother?
Pavanna Alazario |
D’oh! I forgot all about that pool of cash — I was tracking Pavanna’s liquid funds from her pre-Festival cash alone. [blush]
This is the first major purchase since we dealt with The Green Mother, IIRC, so I’m fine with Saroune picking up the scroll. (And, FWIW, keeping light going on Olivius’s shield and Pavanna’s sword as-necessary. Thanks for that. ;-))

Okay, I figured I'd help a fellow GM out and post in each of the games to see if I could dredge up some interest.
Black Dow (you may know his character Mercy in my CotCT game,) is looking for a player or two for his Iobarian Saga.
The game can be found here: Gameplay
Give it a read and if you like what you see, give Black Dow a PM here
There is currently:
1 Ulfen Barbarian, Ragnar Sköld Född
1 Iobarian Ranger, Luke Falgren
1 Euritaki Hunter, Sesi (Played by yours truly!)
If you're interested give Black Dow a buzz.

OK this really sucks... (not the game)
I am at work (putting in a 14 hour day) attempting to call home all afternoon with no answer.
I am fearing the worst of course. finally at 8pm my son answers, Wife went back to the emergency room today. now its too late to get any more info.
I don't know what the heck to do right now.
I get done work in 30 min.
And of course after telling me mom is in the hospital I ask which one? he answers I don't know I just got home. and whats for dinner?
I was like seriously? I am at work all day and your mom is in the hospital and you ask what's for dinner?
Olivius_Telraven |
Wow. Ummm. I have no idea what I would do there. I imagine freak out a little. I'm praying for your wife, man. That's scary.
Thirzin Bronzebeard |
I'm also having a rough day. I worked a 12 hour day, then had a team meeting and found out one of my coworkers from another store was found dead today. No real details, but it's just...I don't have words.
Trace Coburn |
Ed, I’d say “You’re kidding, right?”, but I’ve dealt with teenagers, so I believe it. Have you ever had occasion to put your son in a room with a psycho-analyst? That he can be so unconcerned with his mother’s condition in favour of more selfish concerns might indicate something else at play. He might be on the autistic spectrum, or have a touch of anti-social personality disorder.
Or, of course, it’s entirely likely that I’m talking out of my ass and he was just being a selfish little prat. :-S
FWIW, my best wishes to you and ShadowyFox in these times of distress and uncertainty.
El Ronza |
Ed: Christ on a cracker, that's... that's something. I hope you find out what's going on with your wife, and I'm sending well-wishes your way. It's not my place to offer parenting advice (I know this makes me a horrible educator and doesn't instill much faith in me as a potential parent, but I'd suggest a smack upside the head), so I'll just focus on keeping my fingers crossed for you and your wife, and let you figure out what to do with your son. That's some seriously odd behaviour. Maybe he just shut down in some way as a method of coping? I dunno. I do similar things, but... yeah, I got nothing.
Thirzin / ShadowyFox / whatever-your-real-name-may-be-it's-late-and-I-can't-find-it: Man, that's some seriously bad news. =( I'll send you some well-wishes as well. *places them in envelope and sends through intertubes*
AdamWarnock |
@Thirzin: Dang, that's rough man. Both for you, your coworkers, and his family.
@Ronnie: Wasn't that long ago that I was a stupid teenager. More than likely, he didn't think things through and was talking as things came to mind.
Noro Kas |
ok everything is better than I expected. not the best, but better.
BTW my son is 20 years old, he just got home from wok when I called.
in any event, He had already made a small turkey dinner when I was talking to him so, it all worked out. He took care of things around the house until I got home.
usually when he asks whats for dinner over the phone, he is really asking what can I make knowing that several things in the freezer are reserved for Christmas dinner
