Here's a commission she did of my fella's dhampir sorcerer in my Kingmaker game. I'm hoping she'll do a good job!
Asuriel Arktaros
To all - Hang in there with the tough times! We all will be here for a support group whenever you need someone to talk to or bounce ideas off of! Sorry I've been absent from discussions as of late, I picked up three more games I'm GM'ing and its been quite taxing to maintain. My time for levity has been reduced and I'm sure you're all saddened by this :)
Horatio - I can't wait to see it, I know you have been waiting quite some time!
Noro - Looks good to me! Makes me look like more of a bad ass then I think she actually looks like though.
And now ... It's time for a little bit of the old Ultraviolence!
Horatio A Aldebrandt
Okay, so now, I'm a bit stumped for a reaction. I'm torn between "drag Tsuto out by the hair", and "f&*& this noise, I'mma kill him myself". With a possible third option of "stay calm, take charge, frog-march him to Belor's 2IC and start putting the pieces together over a drink or five".
DM-Salsa
Sorry, no post tonight. Some things have come up and I won't be posting as often. I'll try to have something up tomorrow.
That said, don't worry. I'm going to be working my way through it. It has nothing to do with anyone but myself, and it's just some stupid, stupid crap catching up to me. Hopefully, by year's end, this will only be a learning experience and not the crisis I was afraid I was going to have.
DM-Salsa
Who's the GM? Is he better than me?
If you've ever seen Avatar: the Last Airbender, say the above in Sokka's voice.
Horatio A Aldebrandt
You take care of yourself, Mr. Salsa-Man. *sends hugs from Aussieland*
I've had some crap come up myself... don't suppose anyone knows of a game in need of a samsaran investigator?
DM-Salsa
Stupid, razza-fazzle typos... (I really need to start proofreading my posts more.)
Yes, she was, and Saroune's arm is still in her grip.
Olivius_Telraven
Did you mean 'unlikely' there, Salsa? Because the only other deity that fits what's going on is Zon-Kuthon and I really don't want to think about where this is going if he's involved.
DM-Salsa
@Olives: ???? can you paste what line you're talking about, cuz I haven't a clue what bit of writing I've done in the past two hours you're referring to.
Thirzin Bronzebeard
I think he's trying to figure out what deity our captive could be following if Lamashtu isn't the culprit. He's wanting clarification that Lamashtu isn't the one the guy follows. I'm trying to figure out who it might be as well.
Olivius_Telraven
"Given what was in his journal, it is highly unlikely Tsuto worships Lamashtu. "
I peeked in the spoiler. :) I just wanted to confirm that the "unlikely" isn't a typo.
DM-Salsa
It isn't, and he's not particularly religious. He just wants to see Sandpoint burn.
Horatio A Aldebrandt
I'm not going to be surprised if Noro hates Horatio for this. He's just trying to stop her brother from killing someone. :P
Thirzin Bronzebeard
It's possible it could be one of the devilish or demonic options out there. Not Asmodeus, cause not enough structure. But Lamashtu seems to be something that would scare the old boy. I mean, we have a bevy of options as far as things that would scare him.
On second thought...I think Lamashtu might scare him enough...I mean, if you knew that your beautiful other half was going to become some twisted creature (possibly) that was going to birth gobs and ogres and probably eat you...I think you might be scared.
Noro Kas

your not making it easy to like you...thats for sure...

Probably, but he does know that she's going through with becoming a demon, and is hoping for a succubus, the poor damn fool.
You could try to scare him by convincing him that his lover was going to be turning into some other demon, or perhaps even a bugbear or something.

Aww, but he's trying! :-(
DM-Salsa
Don't worry, Noro caught up with you before you even left the Dragon. :D
See, I can be a nice GM to Horatio. ;)
On another note, I've been writing like mad for the past two hours. It's been fun, but I've got work in the morn. Probably won't be able to post more than twice tomorrow and once on Wednesday.
Horatio A Aldebrandt
See, I can be a nice GM to Horatio. ;)
Nope. I refuse to believe it. There's a looooong pattern of torturing the spoony one. :P
Horatio A Aldebrandt
Guys, my internet connection has been spotty as hell for some time now. Lately it's been dropping out for longer and longer periods of time. If I ever go more than a day without posting, that's probably what's happened. (That, or a mental breakdown.)
That said, I don't think I have anything left I can add in gameplay for now. Noro and Spoony are off to sop Lou killing someone!
Pavanna Alazario
Ack! So much for my day off — every time I sat down to post Pavanna’s response to the interesting ideas she’s hearing from Olives and Asuriel at the Garrison, my ‘down-time’ turned into three more things that had to be done right now... and now it’s 3a.m. [dead] I’ll have to try again later.
Good luck with the connectivity thing, Ronnie. :-S
DM-Salsa
Yeesh, that sounds like a pain in the rear. :| Hope you get plenty of sleep. The game will be here when you wake up.
I'm sorry for the dearth of posts this week. Got slammed at work and then hung out with a friend until 11:30 last night. I'll try to have something up in all my games tonight.
Pavanna Alazario
Ah, the site’s back!
And after re-reading the last couple pages of gameplay, it occurs to me that I owe Choon and The Rising Phoenix an apology. (Yup, ‘a day late and a dollar short’, that’s my family motto. [dead]) It looks like you jokers have been laying the groundwork for those particular character-notes for Olivius and Asuriel well in advance, and I let Pavanna run her mouth and nix the plan(s) to use them without it ever occurring to me that you had been setting them up that way. x.x
So: sorry, guys. :-(
Horatio A Aldebrandt
So, I just got an update on my sister. First significant one since the OD.
He's moving her away. To another town, 150km away. Because he has more friends there, and they'll be safe (from the people he keeps picking fights with over drugs).
I could be wrong, but from my knowledge, this is one of the last stages in the process of domestic abuse - take them away. Take them to another town, someplace far, far away from their friends and family. Remove them completely, surround them with YOUR friends, so they have no-one left to go to, no place left to run.
I'm f+#&ing scared, guys.
GM ShadowLord
Trace - Ain't no thang. It's not like Choon and I had a master-plan or anything, we're just throwing things out there that our characters might have suggested. And just like the real world they often don't work out like you think they will because they probably aren't the best path forward :)
Ronnie - :( I unfortunately do not have any experience in this matter and I have no clue what to do. It does not sound good however. If I were in your shoes I suppose you need to lobby you mother hard? Try talking to your sister?
Olivius_Telraven
No worries, Pavanna. However, with the deception route keboshed, Olivius will be at a loss as to what to other than try to beat it out of him.
Olivius_Telraven
Ronnie - I'm out of my depth there. Hidden cameras to collect evidence? No, that might get you arrested.
I wish I had something more than that to offer.
DM-Salsa
I wish I knew what to say here. The only thing I know to do is pray and have a talk with her. Don't yell, don't shout, just a talk. Tell your scared for her, tell her that you love her, and ask her if she's happy with where she is, really happy, not just the answer to please her boyfriend. If nothing else, she should start thinking about if this is really where she wants to be.
If you think she's being abused by her boyfriend, my first instinct would be to call the police. (Actually, having my sister treated that way is probably one of the few things that could drive me into a murderous rage, as in I'm about to take a shotgun and turn the guy into eunuch, not just violently angry.)
Honestly I hope everything works out alright, and your sister realizes what's going on. Also, I hope her boyfriend either learns that what he's doing is self-destructive and isn't going to end well for him and turns his life around.
He may be scum, but that doesn't mean he can't be better.
Horatio A Aldebrandt
Hidden cameras would certainly get us arrested. Unless they consented to them, which would defeat the whole purpose.
My sister won't talk to me anymore, and she barely talks to our mother. Almost all communication is done through the boyfriend.
We can't intervene in any way. We considered bringing down her favourite aunt, who lives in Queensland, for a visit. Then get my sis to come see her off at the airport, whereupon we go "Surprise! You're going, too!" and shove her on a plane... But that's kidnapping, so we decided against it.
The police have told us there isn't anything we can do. She's over eighteen. We can report anything he does to US (such as running at my mother with a tire iron, or throwing rocks at my car), but not anything he does to her. She has to do it herself, under her own power.
If she was a minor, we could absolutely intervene. But she's too old.
DM-Salsa
You could still do the Aunt thing, Up until the last bit. Once you have her out of Mr. Needs-to-be-snipped's reach for a moment, spring the talk on her instead while you have her to yourselves.
Honestly, I'm scared for you and I prayer that everything will work out okay.
(Also, I don't think giving her a ticket and persuading her to board the plane is kidnapping. Just saying.)
Horatio A Aldebrandt
True, it might not be. But our plan involved a little more bodily force in the form of dragging and holding.
Also - ninjas! Ninjas everywhere!
Thirzin Bronzebeard
I can get behind a plan involving ninjas. Nobody can say no to ninjas. Or ramen. Or ninjas with ramen.
But on a serious note, you're in my thoughts. I'm horrible with helping properly in these situations, but you are definitely in my thoughts, and I hope that things will end well. If for no other sake than your own.
DM-Salsa
Or Pancakes, best Birthday dinner ever!
Bribe her with Pancakes and bacon and she should do whatever you say. :D
Seriously though, I am praying for you, your sister, and everyone else involved. And I'll second Thirzin's thoughts, Now, back to writing some fictional drama.
Pavanna Alazario
All my best wishes too, Ronnie. :( I know you love your sister, but sometimes you just can’t help someone until they realise/admit they need help....
And man, the gameplay thread really left Pavanna behind, didn’t it? I guess that (IC) it all happened too fast for her to intervene. :-X
OOC, the pause in gameplay led me to finally try out XCOM: Enemy Unknown (it’d been sitting idle since I bought it half a year ago). After my third monthly Council report, the French and US have pulled their funding, China, Japan and Australia are on the brink of following suit, and I just lost a Colonel and two Majors to my first Muton Berserker... and yet I can’t stop playing! o.o
Horatio A Aldebrandt
Y'all might find this amusing: I had my braces tightened today (oh my god pain in the face). They finally put on the rubber bands to connect my top teeth to my bottom teeth and start pulling the former backwards into place. So when I open my mouth, you can see the bands stretching.
Saroune Anzoletta
X-Com is really awesome. The Enemy Within expansion adds a ton of cool stuff too, including a collectible resource that powers you mechanical and psychic soldiers that slowly degrades once the mission starts. So you're racing against the clock trying to find the stuff, which makes you less cautious, which makes getting murdered by aliens way more likely. It's so fun.
Thirzin Bronzebeard
Ronnie, that makes me think of the scene in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory when Charlie has the mouth full of braces and orthodontic gear and is trying to shovel chocolates in.
Asuriel Arktaros
Ronnie - Does it look JUST like that? I mean do you ROAR when you open your mouth? Cuz, I mean, that's kinda intimidating and all. :)
I recently started to play Civ:BE and I'm digging it, I LOVE the Civ games!
DM-Salsa
Waiting for the release of the Homeworld Remastered collection. Last I heard it was supposed to be released this fall, but it may be moved back considering the pre-orders for most of the international places haven't started yet. I would love to play CIV:BE, but I'm probably going to have to wait until Christmas to be able to buy it.
That said, I have a game in need of some new players. It's meant to be silly and I understand not everyone's like that style game. If you're interested, post your concept in this thread. The current party has:
A Faen Sorceress
A Half-orc Barbarian
A Kitsune Skald
and
A Drow Oracle (GMPC, I can easily replace her. ;D)
Before you read any further, please note that this is going to be silly. This isn't a self-deprecation, but the point of the entire adventure. If you are looking for a place to play that dark brooding assassin your GM forbade, seriously, then I'm afraid that this isn't for you. If you're looking to play him up to comedic levels of GrimDark, Blood-bathed, over-the-top shenanigans, however, this still might not be your campaign, but apply anyway, I'll be the judge. :D
Now, this is supposed to be a dungeon crawly type game with lots of Role-playing and other shenanigans. That means classes that do well in confined spaces are your best bet, although it could be fun to try and be the knight on a white horse, just don't expect to be able to ride much.
Character creation:
Level 1
Roll 4d6 drop lowest six times for stats.
-Reroll if you have less than a 20 point buy
-Reroll if more than one stat is below 8.
Don't worry about starting equipment.
Three traits and one drawback.
No Evil, period.
Any class is allowed (save no Anti-Paladin)
Any race that uses class levels for hit-dice is allowed.
Submission:
Full stats, save equipment
Your character's background
Your character's personality
Your character's appearance
A few things that sets them on edge.
A few things that makes them go all gooey.
A quirk or two that they have.
Addendum:
I am allowing races from Heroes of the Jade Oath.
I'll be trawling my other games for players as well, so please, only post in one thread if you are in more than one of my games.
