Jerukh's bomb sails though the trapdoor and with a crack, it explodes and showers the three surprised birdmen on the roof above.
Map update coming. Emi, Soli, and Randal are up. For the sake of not turning this into a slogfest, you can reach and get up the ladders with a single move.
Soli blushes a little at Randal's words, but smiles happily. "Oh, uh...thank you!"
Then, she directs Jerukh as to where she heard the voices and waits as he takes aim and throws his explosive. Soli flinches as the explosive goes off but immediately begins heading back up the ladder as she's certain that Vigny and herself should be the first ones up.
Once up top, she adopts a defensive posture as she attempts to get her bearings. "You're outnumbered. Put down your weapons and surrender!"
_______
Soli will head up the ladder and then go Total Defense, putting her AC at 20.

sorry for the long quiet... I was positive I posted a couple days ago but I just realized/remembered that the site went down when I tried to submit the post.
Emi follows up the ladder and grabs her scarf to strike... when Soli offers the violent creatures an opportunity to surrender she huffs just a little and pauses, still coiled to strike...
readying an action to attack the first corbi to make an aggressive move (or a move I can reasonably justify calling aggressive).
The three dire corbies give their booming cries as they lurch at the three heroes on the roof. On of them dies as Emiliana slices open its throat. The other two press the counter attack. One almost manages land a serious blow on Soliana while the other practically trips in front of the kapenia dancer.
Off to the side, an excited whoop comes from another trio as they rush for the catapult across the courtyard.
Soli sighs, even as one of the dire corbies leaves a painful gash on her arm. "So be it," she declares, taking a step back to make room for Vigny and Jerukh and then slashing at one of the two remaining bird-men.

Emi takes advantage of the ravenheaded creature’s clumsiness by sending her beautiful but deadly bladed scarf whirling out at it...
AoO:1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17, for:1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
With a flourish she twirls and brings the blades around in another graceful arc...
attack (ic):1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17, for:1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7 if the AoO kills the one in front of me I’ll twirl my way over to (try to) finish off the one attacking Soli.

Jerukh scowls as he debates the best course of action, then hefts himself up the ladder after his friends (Move Action)
Once up in the tower, the alchemist draws his club (Move Action) and readies himself to join the melee...
If I understand what's up correctly, she should be in the same location as Soli, in combat, and low in the initiative order. I'll act on that, and Salsa please amend things as needed.
Vigny makes a hard, two-handed cut at the closest corby.
In a flurry of blades, blood, and feathers, the three dire corbies fall. The other three continue to whoop and holler as they rush along the walls of the castle. Below, in the courtyard, the door to the western building slams open and a chittering sound can be heard cutting through the din the bird men are making.

Jerukh shifts to stand beside Soliana (30ft Move), the half orc then leans against the battlement seeking to discern where the potential new threat comes from;
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
"Keep those other corbies busy... I will try and make those below us stay in the nest!"
As he speaks the alchemist pulls forth another of his bombs (Move Action)
Like I said I don't get what's up on the map. That's why I asked if those 3 were still active. Any one will do. Whatever works. Bot me if need be I'll try to figure it out later.

Sorry for the delay- I haven't been feeling great and I've had to limit my screen time somewhat because it was hurting my eyes/head.
"Ve need to stop that noise," Emi says as she begins moving towards the other corbies, "Randal, if you can kill them all before I get to them I vill buy you a drink!"
Double moving towards the other corbies; I'll end my moving crouching so I'm harder to see (and to shoot at) for anyone on the other side of the battlements.
The strange, raven-headed monsters rush to the dilapidated, but apparently functional, catapult. They cackle with wicked glee as they begin to ready it and the wood begins to creak ominously.
Below, in the courtyard, a giant spider appears and looks about. It hisses as it spots Emi and begins to climb up to get at them.
Everyone's up, the spider currently has cover from anyone on the walls thanks to the roof it's climbing to get on.

It's hard to tell if Emi's running towards the ravenheaded men or away from the spider, but either way she continues to make her way around the battlements. "The drunken hero fafors you," she hollers back at the archer, "I vasn't expecting them to run avay from me!"
some of those squares are tricky to count but I think that should be a double move.

Round 3 - Buffs/Conditions: Inspire Courage? (+1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls)
Jerukh shifts along the battlement near to where the giant arachnid scuttled toward (30ft Move).
He stops confident that his companions will keep the fell bird-men occupied, holding position with a bomb readied should the massive spider appear within his range...
Ready Bomb Attack (Standard Action) on spider if it crawls into his throwing range
Vigny grimaces when she sees the spider. She doesn't like spiders. She likes dogs and otters and spiders are almost the opposite of them.
She also realizes that no matter how hard she digs in, she won't be able to keep pace with Emi. With Jerukh right behind her now, she figures it's best to clean up as she goes. At least Emi won't be the middle in some nasty monster sandwich.
"Get ready, I'll draw it!" she shouts to Jerukh as she runs for the next battlement tower. She stops there and starts shouting obscenities at the spider to attract its attention while she readies an attack against it.
Whoops, somehow stopped getting notifications for this game!
Soli hesitates for just a moment, considering pulling out her bow and giving Randal a hand with the corbies. But no, the spider was a more imminent threat and much scarier-looking. Not to mention Emi'd never let her hear the end of it if she interfered in the strange bet they had going. Hefting her glaive, she hoofs it after Vigny and Jerukh.
Randal's arrow sails across the courtyard and earns him an angry screech after it slices open the dire corbie's arm. Despite the distraction, it'll only be a few seconds longer before the catapult is ready.
Meanwhile, flame and blade strike true, enraging the spider as it climbs onto the roof. It swipes a leg at Vigny, intending to knock her off the wall and onto the roof of the guardhouse it stands upon. Vigny ducks out of the way and has a chance to strike while the monstrous arthropod is off balance.
Vigny stays in front of the spider's way up, attacking when it tries to climb or comes within her reach. She yells over to Jerukh "Keep going after Emi, I'm too slow! I'll take care of this!"

Round 4 - Buffs/Conditions: Inspire Courage? (+1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls)
As Vigny puts paid to the giant spider, Jerukh gives a nod and hustles toward Emi (Double Move - 60ft).
The corbies aim the catapult, the one that Randal had seriously injured defiantly remaining to let fly the heavy piece of rubble. Wood groans and ropes creak as they rotate it to take aim at Jerukh and Soliana. The arm begins to swing up as it's released only to crash through the stop and break the catapult apart, Showering the three corbies with splinters. The one that was already wounded is killed as a spike of word about three feet long impales it in the chest. The other two take some minor wounds, but it seems that the splintering wood does more than wound their flesh. Their shoulders slump as they turn to go meet with those rushing around the walls.
Below, in the courtyard, they comes a cry from the building that the spider had come from.
"NOOooOOOESH! Youse shtupidesh thringsh! I'sh vill killa yousesh allins!"
From the darkness comes a vile looking monsters with the face of a spider and four, clawed limbs that climbs up onto the roof with frightening speed, barely ten feet away from where Emiliana now stands!
Having no interest in garnering the attention of the monster (and wanting to collect on that drink), Randal keeps his bow trained on the wounded corbies.

@GM- Emi's token never got moved last round (I was on my phone when I posted and forgot to come back on the computer to move it)... so she's actually starting the round 60' north of where it looks like she is... I'm not sure if you want to redirect the horrible creature to someone behind me, or move it up to where I should be, but I thought I'd mention it (especially since it's about to look like I moved super far when I move the token for two rounds at once).
"Vhy did I bet against vun fafored by the drunken hero," Emi mutters to herself as she continues racing around the battlements. Once again, its unclear if she's moving away from the horrible spider-creature or towards the ravenmen, but she certainly seems intent on not losing the bet. "of course Cayden vould aid him in a vager... but killing vun off for him, that is low..."
I've not settled on a deadline for applications yet. I have enjoyed playing with all of you and and I hope that you guys are interested. The plan is to keep it short, so the time investment shouldn't be that much in PBP terms.
Also, to those of you who are in multiple games with me, I apologize for the number of times you're about to see this.

Thanks for the invite Adam - alas I'll pass on this occasion as my dance card is almost full and the next game I've a hankering for is something in Starfinder's theatre of space...
Totally smashed my finger at work today. So, I'm having a nice whiskey to warm me up and make me feel like life still has little rewards. Bobbie told me its not cool to post pictures of drinks on facebook, so I'm just gonna tell you guys.
To the little comforts Cheers!
So...this is probably a bit out of the blue, but conversation in a different game led me to write the following and I thought it deserved being posted here, too.
Rambly but Serious:
Oh I know! Maybe it's just me but I feel like if you (or anyone) takes the time to say something then you should get some sort of a response. It's obviously something I try to do in the games I play/GM, just like you do, but I think it's important to do it in OOC too. Now I mean, depending on what the topic is I might not be able to say much or offer anything more than a 'That sucks' or 'I don't know, sorry' but I've always thought that even an answer in the negative is better than deafening silence. In some ways I think it's even more important to do online than out in the real world because when you're online it's easy to forget that the other people you're interacting with are, well, real people. Maybe they've had a good day but maybe they've had a bad day and then having a question ignored or an RP post get little to no acknowledgement...it's always made me feel discouraged, so I'm sure I can't be the only person who feels that way.
I'm probably rambling a bit because I worked last night and haven't gone to bed yet but this sort of thing has been on my mind a lot since the GM who'd been running a homebrew Walking Dead-style game on the forums dropped off the face of the Earth right after Thanksgiving. This was a game that had been running pretty steadily for the last 3+ years with 4 of the 6 players having been involved in the game from the start, including myself. Our 4-year anniversary for that game would've been this month. Nearly 4 years playing together and she vanished without a trace and it hit me that I never even learned her real name or anything about her much, beyond the fact that she's from the Australia/New Zealand area of the world. There's no way for me to find out what happened to her or if she's okay...and that makes me very sad and it's also a shame.
So...same as Nidhi, my PM box is always open if anyone here ever feels the need to vent or talk. A couple of you already know how to get in touch with me outside of the forums but I'm also on Google Hangouts, Facebook, and email is a thing too. I use all of those options to touch base with people that I play with on the forums. And even if you prefer to maintain your privacy - which I DO understand, my husband is an extremely private person while I find it much easier to be confident and outgoing online - then just remember that you're all more to me than just sometimes serious, sometimes silly, words on a screen. You're all real to me, you all exist, and I do think about you guys - and lots of others - outside of the games we play here.
It's kind of a sappy, 'I love you guyyyyys' thing except without the alcohol? :)
Apologies to some of you who'll see this across multiple games!
Male Probably human Computer Scientist 1/ Character Synthesizer 20/ Crazy 99
No worries.
I'm not going to repeat everything I said in Nate's RotRL game, but I will say that I'm here if you guys need to vent. If you need to contact me outside of the forums, here's my email: salsa.the.geek@gmail.com
Thanks for the post Lady. That is very sad about your game. I do agree there is a kind of weird, fragmented aspect to how people know each other on the boards here. When someone ghosts, whether intentionally or not, it suddenly makes everything here seem very fragile.
I don't know if any of you are players in Storyteller Shadow's games, but something happened recently that made me start thinking about these things, but from the other end. He had to shut down a number of games for personal reasons, but he handled it incredibly well. He made sure to contact everyone, tell them what was up, and put things in order. It seemed to me a great recognition that there are people behind the avatars. (And by the way Nate, Divine RotRL Table 2 survived the shutdowns and continues to chug on.)
I do understand why most people prefer to keep a great deal of anonymity. There are good reasons for it of course, but it does have downsides as well. I for one am more or less neutral on the subject. I don't care about the privacy, but I don't tend to do much to build bonds here either. Mostly laziness I suppose.
That said, I'm certainly happy to be in contact with people here outside the boards. If anyone wants to talk or needs something don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm not much of a facebook user anymore but I'm probably the only Rick Knight in Portland, Oregon. More reliably my email address is rdknight8@gmail.com
Glad to hear table 2 is alive and well! I'm in another one his games that he decided to keep going (although it's so slow moving you almost can't tell).
I've posted this elsewhere but for any who didn't see it: for someone who just uses their real name for their forum presence, I'm surprisingly hesitant to connect with people in other online venues, but my inbox is always open if you ever need to vent or anything!
On an unrelated note- are we waiting on a GM post, or should we start posting our next round of actions? I don't remember when the guy/thing acts...
I'm sorry for the posting delays everyone. My job occasionally requires me to appear in court. The prep for that, along with the time spent being there, adds up to a very big chunk of time. It's about the only time I have to take work home with me.
I had to go at the end of this week, and now I'm sick with a fever. Hopefully I'll be getting back to normal tomorrow, but today I'm just sleeping.
My post probably sounded more dramatic than it was meant to. I work for the Department of Human Services and every now and then I have to go to family court to give evidence for a hearing.
Hey folks, work stuff has kept me busy the last day or so and more looms on the horizon tonight (and I'm out of time for now, need to get some sleep). If it's quiet I'll hopefully be able to sneak in a post but otherwise please bot me and I'll catch up tomorrow :)
Alright, I see what's up now. Movement requires switching maps. Don't know why it took so long for me to figure that out.
So yeah, that much movement and an attack would certainly require using a hero point. I should probably use one anyway since I have yet and we can only bank 3 right? I believe I should have three. We started with 1 and get 1 per level right? If so that leaves me with 2.
Hey folks, just a note that I'll be heading out of town later today for a work training trip and won't be back until late on Friday the 20th. I'll have my laptop but the amount of free time I'll have to use it after today (Sunday) is uncertain so please go ahead and bot Soli as needed; if I have enough time to check in and post I will but otherwise I'll catch up when I get home.
Oh and if I do end up with some free time my first posting priority will be to my GMed games so if you see posts from GM Ladile elsewhere but none here that'll be why. Hopefully that'll avoid any 'I SEE U POSTIN' Y U NO POST FOR <X> GAME!?!?' confusion :P

FYI All - am heading off for the weekend (pit crewing for a bike racing mate of mine). Will be gone from this evening until Sunday evening w/ minimal chance to post.
Please bot me as required. Normal service'll resume late Sun/early Mon.
Also, apologies for my own silence as I've not felt well the past few days and it's largely kept me away from the forums. Finally feeling a little better though so I'll catch up with Gameplay shortly.
It's entertaining to try and find ways to communicate since sign language isn't really a thing that Soli would know and it's cumbersome to try and write on parchment all the time :)
Wait, so some of the group keeps forgetting Soli can't talk and Emi hasn't picked up on it at all? That's hilarious but I can see how someone could draw the conclusion that Soli's just trying to be super-stealthy or is still unnerved by the thing from earlier talking with her voice or whatever :)
Still here, but Soli's at a bit of a loss partly because she can't effectively communicate what she knows and partly because our little friend isn't acting quite like she was expecting!
That was not how I was intending that to go, but well done Jerukh! I hadn't thought about the possibility, and I wanted to reward some clever thinking.
