Soliana of the Rose |
Soli continues around the wall but as another new challenger emerges, she skids to a stop and waits, readying her glaive to strike as soon as it comes within reach.
"No, I don't think you will - but since I'm sure you won't change your mind you're certainly welcome to try!" she calls out in response.

The birdman that Randal puts an arrow in decides his heart isn't in this fight and makes for the door, flinging it open and getting ready to dive inside.The other one, though, perks up as it sees that Emiliana is alone and tries to grab her with its taloned hands.
Meanwhile, Jerukh tosses a bomb at the strange monster. His aim is not as true as he might have hoped and only manages to annoy the monster by singeing it. It moves closer to Soliana, though, and flings a gob or webbing that wraps up Soliana's limbs and makes it difficult to move.
"Unnashuralesh? Youse thinkinsh I'sh unnashuralesh? Youse are unnashuralesh, shtupidesh, oogly elveshesh," it chitters loudly as it glares at the paladin with all eight eyes.

Soli struggles against the web that she suddenly finds herself tangled in, but to no avail. Still, she can see Vigny right behind her and Jerukh just up ahead and so she is not afraid - not for herself, anyway.
"Okay, that's fair...they do say that beauty's in the eye of the beholder, you know! Eyes, in your case!" she laughs grimly, ready to try and defend herself in spite of the webs hampering her movements.

Randal Cupshot |

"Oh no you don't." Randal quips as the birdman attempts to flee.

Hm, a question, the wall and things coming up it are a little confusing. Is spider-dude within reach off the top of the wall? Is it possible to move back, breaking line of sight for the web spitting, and ready an attack for when he tops the wall? Not sure what options I have here...

The last of the corbies falls to the stone of the wall with a gurgle after Emiliana shreds its throat.

Emiliana Vasilescu |

hmm, in that case, I still have a move action left this round...
With a triumphant grin, Emi turns on her heels and begins heading back towards the horrible spider-beast.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Eh, alright, I know this works.
Vigny laughs at Soli's "eyes" joke.
"He didn't like your answer Soli. Get free from that quick alright?" Vigny tells Soli with a wink. Then she jumps over the edge and down to the spider-headed guy. As she drops she pulls the tankard from her belt hook, and on landing she clashes her sword and the tankard together with a clang.
"I'm a messenger of the Lucky Drunk's and he'd like to have a word with you" she says to the spider guy as she brings her sword around and down on him.

Round 6 - Buffs/Conditions: Inspire Courage? (+1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls)
As Vigny leaps to meet the spider creature head on, Jerukh scowls, knowing he risks damaging her with any other of his combustible bombs.
The alchemist moves toward where Emi struggles in the creature's webbing shouting a warning to the group (Move 10ft);
"It is an ettercap... Spiderkin. Ware its bite Olafursdottir!"
He reaches for the webbing coating Soliana and attempts to assist her to break free;
Aid Another (Str check): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Just wow. Should have rewritten that he manages to wrap himself in the existing webbing like a fool...

To be honest, I don't think you're going to have too much trouble with Flatbelly, and I really want to do something with that Nat 1. Sooooo... >:3
Jerukh finds that the more he struggles to free Soli, the more entangled he himself becomes, until the pair of demi-humans are in a rather awkward bundle.
Jerukh, you are now entangled as well. Same DC to bust loose as before. I'll leave it up to you how embarrassing/compromising the position you're in is.
Meanwhile, the ettercap sneers, or whatever the spidery equivalent is, at Vigny.
"Youse izesh weeeaaak! Youse godzesh are dead!"
It scuttles back and flings more webbing at the brave swordswoman. It appears he is mistaken if he thinks that it will be so easy to ensnare her as well.
Ranged Touch vs. Vigny: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Party up. Vigny, the roof's sloped enough to be difficult terrain, however, Ettercaps have a climb speed, so I think he can five foot step to avoid eating the AoO on the ranged attack. If I'm wrong, we'll just give you a free attack.

Soliana of the Rose |

At first cheered by Jerukh coming to her aid, Soli's expression quickly devolves into one of confusion as the half-orc becomes more and more entangled in the webbing himself. "Um, is this some sort of special-oof-web breaking technique??"
While Vigny fights against the ettercap, Soli tries again to break free...
Str (DC 15): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
...and finally manages to do it, in spite of the haft of her glaive being stuck to Jerukh's face!

Randal Cupshot |

Randal moves closer to Soliana and Jerukh to improve his shot, now that the prospect of a drink is off the table.
His story shifts into a tale about a beautiful fairy trapped in the web of an evil spider queen and a heroic knight who frees her with fire, only to be devoured by the flames himself.
Stopping about 40' from the thers, he fires again,

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Emi frowns watching Soliana try to peel the webs off herself. Wishing to help, but not ready to join Vigny on the roof, and not pleased with the thought of being caught in that webbing, she opts for a safer approach. Reaching into the pocket of one of her scarves, she draws the wand of magic missiles (move), fires an ephemeral blue orb at the spider-thing (standard), and then drops down below the height of the battlement wall so the beast can't catch her in its web (dropping prone as a free action).

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Ooh, ooh! I think Vigny actually has a counter! Her travel blessing allows her to ignore difficult terrain for 1 round. I put in an AoO, if it doesn't count just ignore it.
"Ha! You're not so quick, and this isn't so steep!"
Showing a moment of actual grace, Vigny tears into Flatbelly (is he a washboard buff Ettercap?!), sword swinging.

Jerukh Hörnungr |

As his bid to free Soliana becomes farcical, Jerukh finds himself bound and wrapped, his own body bound embarrassingly close to the comely half-elf's...
His embarrassment is complete when the warrior tears herself free, seemingly summoning the strength at the revulsion of sharing a web with an ugly half-orc!
Fearful that her comment was perhaps directed at him (I know it wasn't, but ol' chip on the shoulder' Jerukh might not :), the big healer once again attempts to pull free...

As Soliana tears him free of the webbing, Jerukh grimaces to himself (at his weakness);

The alchemist rises to his feet and smiles awkwardly;
"Thank you... you are stronger than you look..."

Jerukh Delays
Perhaps sensing the amount of danger it is now in, the aberration scuttles away from Vigny, leaving itself open for an attack as it scurries for the safety of the building it came from. A moment later, the doors bang shut.

Soliana of the Rose |
"Well...it's not like they don't know that we're here after all the ruckus just now," Soli sighs, not being especially inclined to give chase along a rooftop in her armor. "We'll just have to be extra vigilant."
She turns to her companions, trying to assess if anyone is particularly hurt. "Is everyone okay?"

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny comes up onto the top of the wall looking a little loopy, wearing a huge grin. Any of the glumness she had shown earlier, down in the village, is completely gone.
She looks at Soli and exclaims "Amazing! You know what we're doing? We're. Storming. A. Friggin'. Castle! They even used siege engines against us! Sort of. Close enough!"
Vigny looks around at everyone else sort of standing there, with or without webbing. "What are you waiting on? Let's go!"
She gestures toward the keep with her sword.

DM-Salsa |

As Vigny points out the half-shattered catapult, the remains of the frame collapse into a pile of kindling.

Vigny points at the engine again. Somewhat defensively she exclaims "right there it is! They set it and fired it! My stories do not have to suffer due to their poor maintenance habits!"

Jerukh Hörnungr |

@All: Apologies - figured clearing myself of webbing and getting up would have been sum total of Jerukh's actions.
In the interests of group harmonics Jerukh resists the temptation to scowl at Vigny's love of destruction and combat...
He instead nods, with his strange smile that resembles more a pained grimace;
"Best we are cautious with that Ettercap still around..."
The alchemist pauses to collect some of the webbing into his components slingbag, then readies himself to push on.

Soliana of the Rose |
"Right," Soli nods. Then she quickly realizes that 'getting off the wall' could take them in at least two different directions. "Do we want to go back down the ladders and keep going through the courtyard or head over to where those corbies were? There's probably another way inside over there."
Then, she peeks down over the wall. "Or we could hop down and follow after that thing, if we're feeling bold."

Randal Cupshot |

"What kind of story would it be if I left out the best parts?" Randal laughs as the others gather up to discuss the next move.
"I'd be happy to hop down into the courtyard to scout around a bit." he offers "I'm pretty good at spotting danger, and besides, who would ambush a face like this?" he adds, grinning in a way he clearly thinks is endearing.

Soliana of the Rose |
"Well, I guess some of us could cover you from up here if you wanted to have a look around," Soli muses. "The view from up here isn't too bad..."
Her voice trails off as it occurs to her that while they'd gotten a decent view of the castle courtyard from the top of the wall, they - or at least she - hadn't considered the view it might afford of the village behind them. She turns to look back behind her, wondering if there's anything new to be seen from the higher vantage point.

Soli's basically taking a moment to look out over what she can see of the village from the top of the wall.
