Go Way of the Wicked!!!

Sorry for that, just re-read the "Player's guide" and it is Wickedly good!

Well, I was thinking about it some and I may be willing to try out Way of the Wicked if I'm given a lot of freedom with my character concept. I promise it won't be anything as cliched as 'it was all a mistake' or 'secretly a good guy' but I don't enjoy playing characters that are solely evil.

ok i say Go way of the wicked too just that i realy like Raymond to travel the scarred lands :-)

Gamer since 1978.
My vote is for the Scarred Lands!

Would like to submit this Character for Way of the Wicked. I would also be down to play in either Rappan Athuk, or Emberverse.

Character concept::
Gerald is a disillusioned Tiefling with a bit of a sadistic bent. Grew up on the streets in a low rent district of a small human city. Turned into a small time thug, murdering the occasional passer by for sport and a bit of pocket change, before he was driven out of town by the city watch. Fell in with some local bandits and spent his time waylaying travelers in the country side.

Good to have you Camris. Any particular part of the Scarred Lands you'd be interested in?

We've got a fair number of people, so I'm closing recruitment tomorrow at midnight. As such, would everyone please repost their first picks, secondaries, and any that they are not interested in. Also, give me a final pitch for you campaign of choice. Right now Way of the Wicked is winning, but it doesn't have to! Huddle up and present me with a plan/story/party for the campaign. It doesn't have to be long, or crunchy, but it does need to give me some feel for the group.

Example of things I'm looking for: If Scarred Lands has three votes and WoW has six, WoW wins. If Emberverse has two votes, but those votes come with a backstory or campaign synopsis, Emberverse wins. High numbers beat low numbers, story beats numbers. Yes, I'm fully aware that some, Emberverse and Scarred Lands in particular, depend a lot on information from me. However, most who voted for these settings seem to have a working knowledge of them, use it. Are you protectorate or mackenzie? Why would you be working with other factions? If independent, how'd you end up here? Are you from Vesh or Calistria, what is your reason for adventuring? Even if we don't end up using this particular story, it helps me see what you want, how you describe it, and how well you are able to coordinate with other players that share your interest.

For Rappan Athuk and Way of the Wicked, this goes for you too! What was your crime? Why do you wish to bring untold horror to the weak people of this land? Why do you serve Asmodeus? Why won't you murder you companions in their sleep? What makes you assault the dungeon of graves itself? (The answer need be nothing more than 'Haven't had a good dungeon crawl in a long time, and I feel the need to channel my inner murder hobo.'^_^)

If you're off by a few hours, don't worry. And thanks to those of you who actually told me about yourselves. It will not be forgotten.

*Edit Gerald, that's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Now, tell me a bit about your play style and how you'd go about it in this campaign.

im pritty new to Pathfinder i dont know alot of the settings and i intend to do all the reading ofcourse ill need to know what to read so i tried to give as much of a setting as i could im a bigg noob.
i have not yet played by forum so i hope ill get a shot ;-) signed up for one more PBF but dont want to sign up for to many at a time i want to see what the results are first.

I voted for Way of the Wicked.

If it's chosen, this would be my character of choice.

If Rappan Athuk is chosen, I'd like to submit this one.

If one of the other two are chosen, I'll make one setting appropriate.

I am very interested in way of the wicked. A cleric or oracle of an evil/mad/insane god sounds fun to play. I could see him trying to corrupt guards, oficials, anyone really, why kill someone when you can use them as a tool, besides nothing say i can't send them on suicide missions right?

After that it go for Rappan Athuk, as super dungeon and PC death sound fun, even for a player!

As a player, I have done some PBP on other sites in the past. I currently DM Rise of the Runelords about once a month. I play Pathfinder currently, but have experience in 1st, 2nd, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 DND

Currently i play in serpents skull campaign as a 14th level summoner. he is chaotic neutral and often tries to push the group to "unusual alliances" unfortunately their is an Aasimar oracle in the group and we have fun butting heads. I often enjoy playful rivalries and do not le tit impede working as a gorup which should help in way of the wicked. My casters tend to be power hungry and self centered, where as my fighters tend to be a bit headstrong.

I'd look to play an cleric or oracle (evil or not depending on the campaign.

Evil "kneel before my dark powers or face an insane gods wrath!"
Good "Kneel befor emy god and beg redemption or thow shall meet you doom!"

Other character choices would be magus or barbarian/rogue.

okay my choice is Rappan Athuk

First of all I have never done a mega dungeon and let's face it they seem cool as all get out!

Second I built a character who's entire clan was wiped off the face of the earth. He tried for months to find vengance but was unable to find those responsible. Now cursed with a barbaric rage and thirst for honorable death, he has searched out Rappan Athuk. He now believes that he has dishonored his clan for living and the only way to clear his soul is to die in honorable battle defeating evil. And what better place to do that than in a freaking mega dungeon.

The Scarred Lands for me!

I loved the setting, but never got to play in it.

My first choice would be playing a Knight Paladin of the Mithril Order. Chosen by Corean despite a chequered background, goes on the quest to gather the shattered pieces of Agamar the Just's soul while facing off against the minions of the Penumbral Lords. Proving himself to the doubters...

That, or playing an angsty Forsaken Elf, trying to find a way to ressurect his dead god.

Something like that.

Say, you said you had a couple ideas for the setting. What did you have in mind?

Preference would be for Way of the Wicked, also very interested in Rappan Athuk, or Emberverse.

Interesting facts about Me:
Lets see,I am 34(almost 35) years old, married with one child.
I live about 30 miles north of Detroit MI USA (GMT-5).
Work full time making carbon fiber sailboat masts and booms.
Been playing table top rpgs on and off for around 5 years.
Groups can be hard to come by around here, so I started to look in to PbP
games, been in two that fizzled out, started one that died a quick but agonizing death due to time constraints and player attrition.

Play Style:
I like to play frontline melee types( big weapons, big armor, bad attitude). However I also understand that this medium of play tends to lend itself better to Role Play than Roll Play. I like to try building a simple back story for the character, then use it as a framework to understand how that person would react to a given situation, what their motivation would be and how they interact with those around them.

If Way of the Wicked is chosen, I would be interested in submitting a rather morbid Cleric of Naderi. wiki link here for Naderi

I'm still here for Way of the Wicked.
I have to go track this character's back story down, because its not on his profile. What do we have and what do we need?

I am still Way of the Wicked. I need to come up with a concept though and probably wont be able to do so until sometime this weekend if that is alright.

My vote goes to Way of the Wicked. As for "supporting" WotW in a way, here's a full character sheet of the character I would play, along with his background story (made for Golarion).

--------------------
BACKGROUND
--------------------
Jericho is one of many illegitimate sons of Arronax Endymion, former fleet admiral of Cheliax. At least, that's what his mother Mya had told him. At her prime she was a sacred priest of Calistria, and she was sent by her church House of the Stolen Kisses in Quent, along with several others to try and expand domain of her goddess onto Ollo.

It seems that this idea did not find a good reception with Avimar Sorrinash, ruler of Ollo at the time. His "allies", the sahuagin informed him that they considered sea and lands around Ollo domain of their gods, and that they will not tolerate it. Since he was unwilling to move against sacred priests of Calistria himself, Avimar arranged for a raid of sahuagin to happen while he was away. Raid targeted specifically the site designated for new temple of Calistria and almost all persons related to it were either killed or dragged away. His mother Mya was one of those which were captured, but it seems that her luck held out. Instead of becoming food for those obnoxious creatures, like many others, raiding party which had her imprisoned, was in turn successfully ambushed by man of Arronax Endymion. She was recaptured and brought to his ship, along with other loot. She spent there next two months, with his fleet, at sea, before admiral got bored of her, and resold her back to some of his local contacts in Ollo. Eight or nine months later, Jericho was born.

His mother never talked to Jericho about her time on those ships, but she was always insuring him that his father is admiral Arronax himself. For sure. Not that it mattered much. They scrounged somehow for living, with Mya being disgraced and cast out of the church. When he was 13, his mother was killed in one of the orgiastic hunts of Avimar Sorrinash' crew of werewolves.

Jericho somehow survived, and for the next 12 years he did hard physical labour jobs and petty thefts, just to obtain food somehow. With time, he became a skilled brawler, and after some time, he started working as one of many bouncers in a shady dockside establishment in Ollo. There, he came into contact with one of many groups planning to overthrow Avimar. As for dozens of plots aimed at him before, Avimar was onto this one as well, and at the most opportune moment he released his werewolves against the conspirators. Again, more due to luck (if one can call it that way), Jericho was able to run away and avoid the slaughter. He ran from Ollo, hiding as stow away on the first ship leaving port. Being based at Ollo, of course it was a pirate ship. Jericho was found after a while, and after a flogging, he "volunteered" to join ship's crew. He survived, and thanks to his great strength, he even prospered, becoming one of the ships sergeants after some time. On the ship, Jericho was "introduced" to the worship Asmodeus, since both captain and most of the crew were devout worshippers.

Jericho hates Calistria, as he believes that she has deserted his mother. He also hates Cheliax (although he has never seen it) and Admiral Arronax Endymion, as the only "representative" of Cheliax he knows. But most of all, with all his passion he hates werewolwes and Avimar Sorrinash, and he would do everything in his power to exterminate them.

It happened 5 days ago. Almost for a full day, they have chased after what seemed to be heavily laden sloop. They have finally caught it, but the chase brought them dangerously close to Andoran coast. They have overpowered crew of the sloop rather fast, but suddenly a vicious storm broke out. Storm lasted for several hours, and when it was finally over, instead of feeling relief, Jericho and his crew mates saw a fresh Andoran frigate quickly approaching. Their ship damaged by the storm, and with his comrades exhausted, they knew they could not outrun them. So with grim determination, they faced Andorans, fighting like crazy. Despite all their courage and desperation, there were simply too many enemies, and Jericho saw his squad mates getting killed one by one. With a loud battle scream he jumped at the attackers, crushing them with his brute force. And then, something hit him on the head and his world went black. Several days later, Jericho awoke in the cell of infamous Branderscar Prison. Same guard who told him name of the prison, happily informed him that he is about to be hanged in 3 days time...

Jericho: I like the backstory. He seems fun.

All right, recruitment is over and the Wicked shall inherit the earth, or at least Talingarde. Thank you all for expressing interest. Unfortunately, more of you are interested in WoW than I feel comfortable running. So, if everyone would please submit their concepts, I'll make a decision this weekend and play should begin monday, or sooner if everyone get's their characters in soon. Note, you don't need a sheet for this, just tell me about him/her. Be sure to download the free preview/player's guide for the AP. It will give you useful information in designing a character.

My things.
1) Asmodeus is the most helpful deity to worship, and you really want a Asmodean cleric in the party. Check out the Fire Mountain Games archtypes on d20pfsrd.com There are several campaign specific ones. Also, anti-paladins can be LE and serve Asmodeus. These are true hell-knights. All classes are allowed, and the party does not need to be balanced. Give it some unique flavor. All races are allowed, with the understanding that I have the right to veto and that some choices may make things considerably more difficult at certain points. Standard races are pretty safe. Humans, dwarfs, and elves are the easiest, along with any of the 'touched' races. (Tieflings, Sylphs, Dhampir, etc.)

2) For character creation we will be using 4d6, with the addition of re-rolling your lowest set. So roll four, drop the lowest, then re-roll your lowest set. This bumps the power rating, keeps some of the randomness, and prevents anyone from ending up with an attribute of 3. Seriously, we had that happen once. For those disinclined towards chance, 25 point buy is also available. Just say which system you are using and show me the rolls, if any. I'm extending a fair amount of trust on character creation. It is possible to manipulate the rolling algorithms, but please don't.

3) Your stats, when done, must match the story. Don't pick a trait/feat/anything unless it fits the character. I have a strong aversion to dump stats, unless rolled, especially mental ones. On that, every stat is going to be important for everyone. Characters that can't pull off good disguises, execute complex plans, and manipulate people will die just as surely as those that can't fight.

Alagor: Jericho looks good, just read the guide and tweak to match.

Daniel: Esan looks good, tell me about him. (I'm conflicted about those stats. I don't want to punish you, and monks really benefit from uber-stats, but don't want you to outshine the others. For now, keep them.)

Gerald: Welcome and submit your concept.

Ptolmaeus: Freedom you will have. Allow me to present you with options. The college of thorns in particular sounds like the sort of thing you may be looking for. This isn't about evil. This is about knowledge, and those who would restrict it. Also, remember that the people of Talingarde have banned the worship of one of the great deities. This is a matter of principle.

Huge chunk of WoW stuff!:

These are part of the information that was presented in book two for people interested in running variant campaigns. This may also serve as sources of inspiration for your characters.

The Last Cult
The Asmodean Purges begun under Markadian IV
called the Zealous are complete. The last few hold outs
have been captured and the last cults have been broken.
The infernal scrolls are all burned. The sacrificial altars
are all defiled. The horns of hell are broken. The PCs
know that they are the last remnants.
At campaign’s start, they are being shipped from across
Talingarde to Branderscar to face the inquisition of Mitra.
They already know the sad truth – there is no one left
to sell out. All their brethren are captured or dead. But
there is hope. Whispers persist that one last high priest
survives hiding in some secret refuge beyond the Watch
Wall far to the north. Surely, this dark savior will not
abandon the last of his flock in their most desperate hour.
In this variant, everyone plays clerics of Asmodeus.
Cleric is an incredibly versatile class. The difference
between clerics of evil, fire, law, magic, and trickery is
considerable. Yet all of these are domains of Asmodeus.
The players will need minions of course. Already as written,
they can recruit Grumblejack the ogre, but there will
need to be other minions available that allow them to
flesh out skills and abilities outside their class.

The Blackfire Tribe
Instead of criminals, the PCs are the captured last
remnants of the Blackfire goblin tribe. Every PC must
play a goblin. The magistrates of Talingarde haven’t
bothered to try these weedy little monstrosities with anything.
Instead, they are to be publicly executed to show
the people that the regime works tirelessly to hunt down
any dangers that may threaten the populace.
The Blackfire tribe was always an odd one. Instead of
being neutral evil, the PCs are lawful evil. The Blackfire
tribe always was surprisingly well organized for goblins.
But now with their last chieftain slain, those damnable
‘tallies’ seem to have won the day. Is there any way to bust
out, hook up with a new boss and make the ‘Tallies’ sorry
they ever messed with the Blackfires? We will find out.
Tiadora doesn’t visit under the pretense of being a
heartbroken wife. Instead, she takes a form of a fiery
shadow goblin and infiltrates the prison to deliver a scrap
of cloth full of magic pictures. Cardinal Thorn has heard
rumors that these goblins hold Asmodeus sacred and he
needs goblinoids to safely deliver weaponry to Sakkarot.
He tried sending humans – they were eaten.
Instead of a campaign about would-be dark lords, this
is a campaign much more about the underdogs triumphant.
Everyone always underestimates goblins. They
are annoyances to be put down. Who could believe it
was a small pack of goblins that infiltrated Balentyne and
broke the Watch Wall? Who could ever imagine that it
was goblins that seized the Horn of Abaddon and captured
the fearful Tears of Achyls? And in the end, who
could imagine that Talingarde was brought low not by
any great lord of evil, but by a few dedicated little monsters?

The Knights of Nessus
Thorn will broke no rivals in his dominance over
magic. Instead, he seeks to found an order of warriors
in service to Asmodeus. There are places in this new
order for warriors who face their foe directly and more
subtle assassins. The PCs will be Thorn’s sword and dagger.
With these finely honed weapons, he will make Talingarde
bleed.

The College of Thorns
Once the greatest college in all of Talingarde was dedicated
to Asmodeus. And then the Church of Mitra came
to power and its great library was burned. Any who resisted
this fanatic luddite regime joined their books on
the pyre. That was decades ago. In secret the College of
Thorns yet persists and you are the last of its members.
The college though was betrayed by one of its own
members -- the Magister Tacitus of Morimun (see Book
One). And now you languish in Branderscar.
This is not the end. You will escape and reclaim the
lost secrets of arcane magic and punish Talingarde for its
audacity. This time it will not be you who faces the fire.
This time, it will be their sorrow that will shake the pillars
of heaven.

The Infernal Thain
Before the Talireans came, Talingarde was once ruled
by dwarves. Everyone knows that. But what most do not
know is when the Talireans arrived, they came as invaders.
They besieged dwarven city after city until the great
empire of the dwarves was broken. The few poor dwarves
you see on the surface today are the servants who turned
upon their masters and bowed before the humans. However,
some houses of dwarven nobility still survive. This
nobility, long corrupted by their worship of Asmodeus
(whom they conceive as being a horned bronze-skinned
dwarf) have a name -- Duergar.
You are the last duergar house left in Talingarde. You
have been discovered by the inquisitors of Mitra and
dragged into the hated sunlight. They claim they will deliver
justice upon you. Justice?! What do these invaders
and usurpers know of justice! After half a millenium of
oppression -- what a joke!

Darkflame: Why is Raymond a hellknight of Asmodeus?

Fallen Mage: Who is this mage?

Sweet! I will get something to you by tonight sometime.

Taking rolling method.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 6) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 4) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 1) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 4) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 1) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 5) = 17

rerolls:
1d6 ⇒ 2
1d6 ⇒ 1
1d6 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 4
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d6 ⇒ 3

totals= 12, 14, 17, 16, 17, 14

The Exchange

Fantastic! I'm so happy that Way of the Wicked was selected! Imimrtl and Gerald its good to see you both in here as well! Good luck all.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 6) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 2) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 5) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 4) = 8

Rerolls:
1d6 ⇒ 3
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d6 ⇒ 2
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d6 ⇒ 6

Wow, good rolls! came out to a 32 point buy and that's pretty darn good. I understand that Way of the Wicked is tough and I can't wait to see what you throw at the party. I'll have my full character concept in to you shortly.

Final: 12, 16, 8, 16, 16, 12

my question is Could i play Raymond as a Anti-Paladin but make him Chaotic Neutral?

or should i just alow him to be a Darkish paladin?

im a bit torn as to wheter or not i could stil play a paladin as Good in way of the wicked.

This is why pbp is useful. It helps me remember the difficulties in communicating via text.

For the re-roll set, I meant that you would reroll the lowest set of 4d6. So for Imimrtl, you'd re-roll the 4d6 that gave you 12. For Celeador, it would be one of your 8s. What you guys did was fine though.

Okay everybody! Roll like these guys. Should work out fine.

Darkflame: Nope. Take a look at the player's guide/preview. It's here on the website and gives you the character creation rules. LN,LE,NE, and N are the only acceptable alignments, with a strong bias towards LE. Paladins are replaced with anti-paladins, with the change that they can be LE servants of Asmodeus. Helps make things more cohesive.

The Exchange

Ok, sounds good. I may have missed it, but how many traits? 1 for our crime in Way of the Wicked and a second of our choice?

4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 2) = 14

Ok, new stats: 12, 16, 13, 16, 16, 8

okay now i get it thanks man
i could defenetly make Raymond an anti-paladin his background could be just the same.

after he became a paladin he kept on comming across kids who bulied the kids of lower stationed people, one day he came across the guy who bulied his friend when he was litle who was pestering some peasants Raymond actualy lost his nerve and killed the young man in a furioud rage after this he was magicly infuriated and in his blind rage he also killed both the farmer and his wife, after this he fel as a paladin.
strucken with greef he got tormented and turned to the dark side. (more on this proces i will reveal in time.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 3) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 2) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 5) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 6) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 4) = 15

4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 4) = 15

so 14,14,15,17,18,12 right ?

damn I normaly never roll this good.

this would be one though antipaladin.

OK if anyone in the chosen people need a pupet that has been corupted by him or her Raymond could be corupted on purpose.... afther the episode at the farm Raymon dweled around the lands drinking and fighting and was an easy target to be corupted by som other PC. if none take interest ill write it myself ofc. otherwize i would love to talk it over with one of the other PC's and the GM how he/it or She got corupted Raymond

This is Fallen_Mage, re-submitting Thomas Glint. Stats and backstory in the profile. If you don't like me to use this him I can work out another character.

Thanks, I'll work up something soon.

Hello all! This campaign popped up on my radar and I was just wondering if you were taking new people (who hadn't participated in the campaign selection process) into account now that you've chosen a campaign. I didn't think it would hurt to ask. If so, here are my rolls!

4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4) = 22
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 6) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 1) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 2) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 3) = 10

Reroll: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 1) = 11

Hah, so 11, 11, 13, 14, 14, 22

Well I know that I'd be covered for a primary stat...

you can take a look in the Alias. he was last used in a WotW game that died after the intro post.

the character sheet will mpost likely be redone a bit for your game. but the primary thing is the story.

lets see where the dice fall shall we:

4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 1) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 3) = 16 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 2) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 5) = 16 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 5) = 17 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 4) = 16 = 14
reroll the 12: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 3) = 9

yeah right the 12 stays

for a 28 point buy not bad indeed.

Well you could do what I did in my last 2 campaigns, run Rappan Athuk in the Scarred Lands that way you get 2 for the price of 1! Sorry I am running 2 campaigns myself right now so I don't have time to play another but it sounded too interesting not to comment! BTW, in 4d6 I think he meant to drop the lowest!

Hey Cyx, nice to see you again.

Tassadan: Recruitment is going to be from those who participated earlier. Thanks for the interest though.

FM: Thomas looks good. Like the background. What did you use for attributes?

Edward: Give me a bit of the revised story. Looks good otherwise.

Darkflame: Background seems alright. I'd have you start out in prison as a ex-paladin and convert you over into anti-paladin when you meet Thorn.

Eh, WoW is not for me. Good luck y'all, or bad luck as the case may be...

His stats were generated with this:

Focus and Foible – Choose your Focus and put it as an 18, choose your foible, and put it as an 8. For all remaining stats, roll a d10+7, all in a straight line, no swapping stats.

I'll fix that when I get home. I might be brave and do the 4d6 method.

4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 1) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 6) = 24 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 3) = 13 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 5) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 2) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 6) = 24 18

Probably going to go for Magus who will be doing horrible things with dimension door later. Maybe a Bladebound because they're awesome.

I'll take you up on the College of Thorns idea, the character will be a former scholar and student forced to learn to protect himself when his school was betrayed. Due to his affiliations and certain ideas bout the pursuit of knowledge, he has been pursued for most of his adult life. His brother, another student, was captured and hung. During his capture, he killed three soldiers and a local governor whom he had taken hostage.

He is going to have a lot of cold, calculating, and focussed hatred in him. This entire thing is going to be about a perceived personal slight against him and a hunger for vengeance.

Oh, re-roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 1) = 12 11

Paizo algorithm, you so weird. Two eighteens!

The slight isn't perceived. They banned the diety you worship, killed your brother and colleagues, and burned your books. That's more than a slight. Vengeance will be yours.

Ok reroll using the real rules lol. Sorry for the mix up.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 4) = 15

That leaves me with.

15
14
12
16
13
14

32 point buy not bad. Jack of all trades master of none lol.

Hmmm, strength based, scimitar focussed or dueling sword focussed?

Here is imimrtl's submission. Not quite done with crunch yet. He is a synthesis summoner that will be taking a couple of levels of antipaladin as well.

------------------------------------------------

Alexander was an up and coming member of the College of Thorns. His primary area of focus was planar anomalies and the denizens that exist in those areas beyond the known multiverse. As part of his experiments he was able to briefly open a portal to a realm of primal horrors.

...something came through.

A being calling itself the Devourer poured through the gateway and attached itself to Alexander like a parasite. Over the coming days, Alexander delved deeper into the relationship between himself as the host, and the Devourer. A creature of dark madness, Alexander was able to find a way to restrict the creature until called. By performing certain rituals, Alexander was able to exert a modicum of control. He hears the creatures maddening thoughts though and was on his way to gaining full control over the creature when those sanctimonious bastards from the Church of Mitra came and burned his research, thus dooming him to the predations of the Devourer. He swore revenge upon the Mitrans and exacted a bit of it before being captured and shipped off to Branderscar. Soon to be executed for the murder of a priest, Alexander waits for his chance to burn the Mitrans to the ground...

Rolling

4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 1) = 8 = 7
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 6) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 4) = 21 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 4) = 10 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 2) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3) = 11 = 10

Re-Rolling 7: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 6) = 14 = 13

Okay, not the best rolls, but workable.

Here is Ptolemaeus's character crunch, I'll fill in the story and appearance shortly.

Edit: Should I bother with money? We start off imprisoned, don't we?

Correct. You start with nothing. No holy symbols, no spellbooks, nothing except for the rags on your backs.

The Exchange

DM Grey,

About halfway done with my application. I think its going to be a good fit. I *do* have the mechanics all done, and that can be half the battle.

Looking forward to Celeador, and yes, one crime trait and one other trait.

If everyone can have concepts, crunch doesn't have to be finalized, to me by tomorrow morning that would be appreciated.

Ptolemaeus: I think there may be a discrepancy. How did the 15 turn into 17?

Stats are looking good everyone, but double check to be sure. Make sure that one of your traits is a crime trait.

Liberty's Edge

Ok...lets try again, and hope Paizo does not crash!!
Background for Esan

Background:

No one knows where Esan was trained, or where he came from. He appeared outside the village one wintery day, clad only in a torn tunic and breeches. The people took him in and nursed him back to health. He stayed the entire winter, helping the people with many chores and asking nothing in return but a quiet place to stay and a small amount of food to sustain him.
Being strong, quick and very wise, Esan was called upon for many tasks, some simple physical labour, and other needing a delicate hand. He became known to all the townspeople, and was sought out by many for his wise teachings. This is what he wanted.
This town was a chaotic mess. People’s lives were ruled more by a whim than anything else. There was no discipline or order. And he could not have that! Slowly he swayed the townspeople to organizing their lives. He took a group of weak-willed sycophants and turned them into a private police force. This force started out as a sort of militia who walked the streets, and fought crime and up kept the law. Many applauded their work, and the group gained in prestige and power. But soon they were interfering in people’s private lives. They told people how to dress, and act. What they could and could not do, or eat, or think! Any who questioned these rules were put to death. Any who did not agree, were put to death. Any who did not seem to embrace the Iron Rule whole heartedly were put to death. Soon there was no one left, but Esan.
One cold and wintery day a squad of soldiers rode into the village. Nothing had been heard from them for month, and the lord of the land wanted to know why his yearly tax was not paid. The village seemed in good repair, but no one was there, however a search revealed the local graveyard was filled to capacity. The many new graves all lined up in neat and tidy rows. There they found a man in ragged clothes digging the final grave. He seemed half staved and exposure to the elements had weakened him. Not knowing what else to do, the soldiers took the fellow in, and returned to the closest village to wait out the winter months. While traveling, the ragged man told them of the horrible disease that had killed the villagers, and he hoped that this ‘disease’ had died with the last villager.
As they came into town, Esan saw that his job was far from over. The ‘disease’ of chaos and disorder had spread to this town as well. It would be another long winter…..
