Greetings all! I've decided to take the plunge and try running a full party pbp. What campaign will it be? Well, the choice is yours.

Before we get to that, I figure it's fair to give you some background on myself. I've been DMing and playing Pathfinder for over a year now. University is the first time I've had to actually play the game. Previously, in the bygone era of 3rd, I purchased a number of books, almost everything Scarred Lands to tell the truth, and dreamed of seeing these heroes and monsters come to life. As a result of much armchair gaming, and now some real gaming, I have a decent grasp of the rules. It's not perfect by any means though, so don't hesitate to correct me if I'm mistaken. However, rules come secondary to fun and reasonable. If the rules don't say you can do something, or more rarely, say you can't do something, and we think that's silly, ignore/modify 'til we like it.

That's me. Now, lets get to the campaign bit. I'm interested in giving people a chance to play in something a bit different from the standard adventure path. Don't get me wrong, I love Paizo's APs. They are great. Sometimes though, you just want to try something different. To that end, I'm posting a number of different possibilities and picking based on the responses. So, without further ado, here are our five contestants.
===================================================================

1) Scarred Lands. It's number one because I love it and have a huge bias towards it. This is the setting that made me fall in love with role-playing games. Baldur's gate and 2nd edition may have started the process, but these sucked me in and consumed most of my teenage thoughts. For those of you who don't know, Scarred Lands was/is a campaign setting developed for 3rd/d20 edition. The first book, Creature Collection I, actually came out before the 3.0 Monster Manuel.

There is plenty of information available for those interested. Wiki Other wiki However, the most defining aspect of the setting is the Divine War, an apocalyptic battle between the gods and the titans. The gods won, but the scars of the conflict are everywhere and it changed the landscape dramatically. Seriously, a god's sword missed and created a canyon miles long. The war was over a century ago and the scattered people are only now beginning to truly recover.

This leads to the other defining characteristic of the world. The gods are everything. Not just real, but intimately involved in everyday life, and all are respected. Even the city of paladins maintains shrines to the evil deities, attended by LG paladins. Why, because disrespecting a god, any god, is a really bad idea. Diss the goddess of healing and snap! No more healing for you, even if you are a cleric of another deity. This involvement in mechanical terms is expressed by the ability of any character to pray and receive a boon from that deity, even if they primarily worship another. I like this.

Like any good setting, Scarred Lands lends itself to many, many different campaign types. I have a couple ideas that I will provide on request. To those who remember, I say rise up! This is your chance! Choose this option if you love the scarred lands, or are interested in a setting where the gods matter, only the fittest survive, and the world has a distinct flavor.
======================================================================

2) Rappan Athuk.
This is a no-holds barred old-school mega-dungeon where death is frequent and the DM slacks his, or her, thirst on the sweet tears of players. Want to face a real BBEG? How about the avatar of Orcus himself! There is plenty of information available on this one, so check it out.
======================================================================

3) Way of the Wicked.
Sick of sanctimonious paladins? Tired of saving the world? Frustrated by the petty restrictions of so-called 'morality'? If so, then it's time to suit up, sign on with Asmodeus himself, and walk the way of the wicked. If you can look at this AP without singing 'Bad to the Bone' you're doing it wrong.
======================================================================

4) Emberverse.
More than anything, this is a homebrew based off S.M. Stirling's Dies the Fire book series. I've been working on it ever since I read Dies the Fire a year or two ago. Early morning custodial jobs give you plenty of time to think.

On March 17, 1998 technology turns off. Electronics and heat engines, including guns, stop working. What happens then? Short answer, almost everyone dies.

Story takes place in the north-western United States, mostly the Willamette valley of Oregon. Survivors band together and several groups emerge from the chaos. Alliances are made, wars fought, but ultimately, that is for the books. Check them out.

I wanted to do a campaign inspired by the books for a couple of reason. 1. Post-apocalypse and the return of magic is cool. 2. This is connected with 3, but I like the idea of a dark age america. Just sounds nifty 3. I think a campaign set in real-world geography would be amazing. I've traveled over a good share of the US, and other parts of the world, and there is no campaign setting ever made that can match the richness of what reality offers. Imagine being able to see exactly what the land your characters are journeying through looks like. The great plains full of centaur herds. Dragons lairing atop Mt. Shasta. And lizard folk thriving in the bayous. It's going to be amazing!

Of the four, this one is probably the one I'd like to do the most. However, it will require a lot more work than the others, which means posting will be slower, probably, at least at first. Also, I'm not sure how many people are interested in a homebrew. More information available upon request. Choose this option if you really want to venture into the unknown or have always wanted to play in the real world. Quest to reclaim the cathedral of Notre Dame anyone?
=======================================================================

5) This is whatever you want. Any adventure path, module, or idea you've wanted to try but never been able to. Mainly presented so that if there is a solid group of players who've been wanting to play a particular AP but haven't been able, say Second Darkness, the option is open. I've got just about everything, so ask away. RotRL Anniversary is pretty sweet by the way.
=======================================================================

Submission guidelines! This is important!
This initial stage is primarily to determine which setting we're going to do, so don't get too eager creating a fully detailed character sheet, unless you want to.

What I'm really looking at here are players. Post which options you'd be interested in and why. If you want to pitch a character concept for a particular option, that's fine. You can even vote for more than one. Give me some background on your play style and experiences. What are you looking for in the game. If you are new to pathfinder or pbp, don't feel intimidated or like you don't have a shot. Post anyway.

I posted so many ideas because I am interested in seeing any and all of them come to life, and because it can be frustrating when someone says "Anything you want!" Without giving at least some suggestions. But really, I like all of them. I'd even have great fun doing a Beginner Box game.

More specific mechanical stuff:
I'm a 15-20 point-buy or 4d6 roll kind of guy. Unless it's Way of the Wicked, then I'm following creator's advice of 25 point-buy. That thing is just brutal.

Any class/race/archetype is valid, depending on the campaign setting. No Oracles for Scarred Lands, but otherwise mostly likely yeah.

Posting rate will be unknown. I'm running two solo games at the moment and capstone course could suddenly consume my life. For now, I'll try to stick to at least one post per day, and would like the same from you. If someone is holding things up, I'll GMPC them.

Hi im Hendrik i live in belgium am 31 years old am an experianced Gamer of all sorts Boardgames PC games console roleplay alike although pen and paper rpg i have only done for about a year.

i played pathfinder in with a total of 3 difrent characters 1 paladin 2 barbarrian's. me and my friends are now playing Rise of the runelords Ani. ed. and are at lvl 4 im playing a half elf barbarian.

i hope that is enough about me. (maybe 1 more thing i s*ck at spelling in anny languatch but beacause dutch is my native tongue spelling in English is even worse than in dutch i must apolegize)

Scarred Lands sounds awsome as i would love to have another take on a paladin. i am realy always this kind of class. i had a lvl 85 pala in WOW played it for years and realy considered lvling a second one so i could do all types of paladin (never gotten aroubnd to it tho) honoring the gods as a true part of the RP just sounds great :-)

i do love to enseu combat alot aswell. so Rappan Athuk sounds interesting aswell but dont realy know what to expect. i realy dont mind rolling new characters when one is realy unreserectabley dead :-)

PS i got a pala in the wait

Human Paladin: Raymond De La Chation
Age 35
Heigt 5ft 7 in
weight 145 lb
heir eyes: blond Blue

STR 16
Dex 15
Con 14
Int 10
WIS 10
CHA 15

i got to this using the alternate racial trait to get +2 to 2 abilety score. as a paladin is pritty Stat heavy

he would be wielding a scimitar and a spiked light shield usin
2 weapon fighting and improved shield bash
getting shield slam at lvl 3

I like scarred lands sounds interesting. I will also go old school and roll 4d6 six times.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 3) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 5) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 5) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 6) = 17

I'll probably base my character on acceptance and roll.

I can post often as I can post from phone and computers so on.

Love to play and don't have any real opportunity other than PbP

thank you for your consideration.

Edit: Not bad on the roll 14 15 15 11 15 15 Cleric or Rogue I am thinking

Liberty's Edge

Dot for interest. I am a 45 year old male who has played role playing games from more then 30 years. I have played in a few PbP games here, and am actually running my first as DM (Kingmaker). I have also read all of the Dies the fire series and think it would be an awesome background for a game.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 2) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 1) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 2) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 3) = 8

edit: i thik ill stick to 20pt buy for some reason not verry lucky if i cant use real dice

Pathfinder Adventure Subscriber

Hi. I've been playing since 1977, and own all the scarred lands books...at least all that I'm aware of. I ran 3.0 when it first came out, and Scarred Lands was my setting. Would love to return there as an adventurer.

Also love the SM Stirling books, though I'm a book or two behind.

4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 4) = 10 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 3) = 14 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 4) = 14 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 4) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 5) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 2) = 12 10

Well I've done better. I think that's a 6-point buy...but stats aren't everything.

Liberty's Edge

Well lets see how the dice roller treats me today

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 2) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 3) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 2) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 5) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 6) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 3) = 15

Hello my epic leader

Dotting for interest. I'll put my vote in for Way of the Wicked. I've only been gaming since about early 2001 - 2002, and mostly as a DM/GM. Pretty much the only time I've gotten to be a player was here on the boards.

I'll wait for the final decision on the setting before I create the character.

I am actually quite curious to see the mechanics for the Emberverse that you are thinking of running.

Are you going to use one of the pathfinder modern builds? Vitality and wound points to deal with the lack of healing?

My vote goes to WoW or Emberverse.

Hi all, as requested let me first tell you a bit about myself, I'm 37 years old (for 2 more days), a father of 3 kids, and have been playing various D&D incarnations, plus an assortment of other games for approximately 20 years. The moment I discovered Pathfinder I have switched into it and never looked back. I'm running a "pathfinderized" Forgotten realms campaign in RL for 2.5 years now, and I am an active player in another RL campaign, plus several PbP games here on this message board.

I'm hailing from Europe, so if you're from the States you might find my posting times "awkward" in a way. Usually I post once a day, sometimes more (if the situation require it), and sometimes I might get a bit "slow" due to my job/travel, but I try at least to post 2-3 lines from my iPad/iPhone then.

As to preference, I am going to be very honest here - I would Love (with capital L) to be involved either in Way of the Wicked or Rappan Athuk, but I do not feel intrigued enough to play the two other games/settings you mentioned. Just keep that in mind, because if you should choose for example Emberverse, I would most probably respectfully decline to take part in that adventure.

Being "old school" kind of a player, of course I will choose to roll 4d6 for abilities of my potential character, although I know I tend to roll fairly low (except when I GM - then I roll all so high that my players "hate me").

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 6) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 4) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 6) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 6) = 19

And finally, something which was completely "not agreed before" - regardless of who you decide to choose or not, I would like to offer you my opinion on Manzcar. I play with that guy in several other PbP's here, and I can tell you that he is a dependable player who posts regularly, and is an all-around team player. I'm not implying in any way that other posters in this thread are not dependable - I'm just simply sharing my experience (I know - completely uncalled for, sorry) on the guy I know and play with.

If you feel that you need to know more on any of the subjects mentioned, feel free to ask. This weekend I am mostly home. Cheers

Hello my epic leader

Usually when I need it to roll well, I get 1's and 2's...lol

Interested although out of the options I would say Way of the Wicked would be my top choice and Scarred Lands second.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 3) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 4) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 1) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 5) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 5) = 14

Ouch, horrific first set: 11, 7, 14, 9, 10, 13

Here's hoping you will allow one more set.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 3) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 6) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 1) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 1) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 1) = 13

This one is much more workable: 17, 13, 18, 9, 11, 12

Hmm, my vote would be Emberverse, I'd like to see what ideas you had for making it work. Vitality and wounds sounds like a good idea but the extremely low-magic setting of the canon might interfere with the game mechanics more than a bit.

I am very open to these they all sound very interesting to be honeet I just love to role play. I am cramped on long periods of available time so a normal game doesn't fit in but PBP gives me my fix. I can post as often as needed from once to ten times a day. I hqve lots of pockets of time I can use and I don't like angry birds LOL.

I like playing rogues and clerics they just appeal to me. with the roll I got I will lean towards rogue but an old school battle cleric could be interesting.

I hope you will consider me when you decide. thank you and good night.

Manzcar bows as he steps down from his soap box.

oh and i got lots of time to work in a callcenter :p so can post @ work :-)

Thanks for the interest everyone. Just to make sure I know what people are leaning towards.

Scarred Lands: 4(Darkflame, Manzcer, scranford, imimrtl)
Rappan Athuk: 2(Darkflame, Alagor Faelan)
Way of the Wicked: 3(imimrtl, Alagor Faelan, Fallen Mage)
Emberverse: 4(Ptolmaeus Arvenus, ZetaGilgamesh, scranford, Daniel Stewart)

This is the part where you you get to yell 'But I voted for X!'

Emberverse stuff!:
For the Emberverse people, I'd be running it with the regular pathfinder rules. Yes, this would mean the world would be substantially different from the books. Hence my disclaimer of based-on/inspired-by. It would be set sometime after the CUT war. Montival does exist, but limited to PPA, Bearkillers, Mackenzies, Corvallis, Mt. Angel, and CORA.

How does full D&D magic fit in? Magic has been slowly returning to the world, like water leaking from a breaking dam. The pressure of the war forces these gaps wider. The final battle of the CUT war breaks the barrier open, and magic floods in. CUT seekers transform into otherworldly fiends, priest's battle cries are answered with fire from the heavens, and the witches see their curses take sudden, and dramatic, effect. Some called it the Awakening, others the apocalypse, while others just see it as the culmination of what has been happening ever since the Change.

Interestingly, the return of magic is most obvious in two places: The wild and the dead-zones. Those areas where humanity had had little impact saw the awakening of dragons and the rising to giants. Creatures from myth and legend returning to the world they left so long ago. The dead-zones reacted differently. Cities are where humanity had left their strongest impression, and where they died in the millions when the change occurred. The dead and damned rose, a rebellion against the fate allotted to them, and reclaimed their towers of glass and steel. The world was theirs and they will have it again, gods and powers be damned.

Different areas within the have reacted differently to magics return. For the Mackenzies, it has hasn't been too earth-shattering. Everyone knew that you could cast spells and the fey existed. Now it's just a bit more obvious, and perhaps people are a bit more careful to set out milk for the house hob.

In the Protectorate, the church's has become even more ingrained in the common people's lives. The power of God is evident and his servants provide needed healing and comfort in the faces of monsters. Knights joust to better slay giants, and wizards gather in towers to test the limits of power.

The Bearkillers have reacted with stoic practicality. The applications of magic in war are studied with the same zeal as siege machinery, and apprentices learn how to return the damned to their rest. Whether bandit, fiend, or dragon, the cry is the same. Hakkaa päälle!

In proud Corvallis, the only truly civilized place in this land of kings and barbarism, magic's return was meet with skepticism, debate, analysis, further discussion, and finally grudging admission that there really was something to this and do we form a new college of thaumaturgy or should it be part of each college's curriculum? Hey everyone! Chemistry thinks they've figured out how use magic to bypass the gunpowder problem!

Classes are strongly correlated with certain areas. For example, witches and druids are almost certainly Mackenzies, while cavaliers are probably Protectorate knights. If you're looking to be a Magus, only real option is the Bearkillers, though some monks of Mt. Angel also study how to combine spell and blade.

This option is what I've spent the most time mulling over. It let's me transform Emberverse into a setting compatible with the high magic fantasy of pathfinder, while still keeping some of the flavor of the books. Magic exists, but it is mysterious and no one really understands how it works. Since it's not during the events of the books, I have freedom to change things around, and don't have to worry about portraying a NPC incorrectly. Also, it makes the old cities dangerous again. This is were undead, abberations, and other things that just should not be, rule.

If people really want to try running a game during the time period of the books with the low-to-nil magic of canon. I'm willing to give it a try.

Scared Lands folks! Where do you want to play? My three thoughts of where to start the campaign: 1)Serpent Amphora modules. 2)Hollowfaust, because that place is just awesome. 3) Durrover. The ongoing war there is perfect for a campaign, and who doesn't want to fight the Black Dragoons.

Way of the Wicked! Do the condemned have any final questions before they are executed for their heinous crimes?

Rappan Athuk! Your boldness is pleasing to Orcus. He will feast on your bones. Any questions?

Feel free to continue to comment, questions, clarify, etc. If you know people that have been trying to get into a game but haven't, send them over. Recruitment will stay open until it isn't though I will definitely give a 24 hour notice before closing.

Putting in my vote. Would like to play scarred lands. Secondary vote way of the wicked which also sounds incredibly interesting..

Have an idea for an aasimar paladin helping the land heal.

Or a human assassin if way of the wicked.

On second thoughts I'd prefer way of the wicked. :p

** spoiler omitted **...

That sounds pretty good to me. I would kind of like a bit of the world-building from the earlier books but I understand that is an incredible pain to bother with. I'm also amused by the idea of having the resurgence of magic play into the ever increasing abilities of the party so that half the time we'd be fighting threats that have never actually been seen in reality before. Knowledge checks to identify would be based on how genre-savvy a person is or how well read up they are on a particular mythology.

If the Emberverse game does not float, my preferences would likely either be Scarred Lands and then Rappan Athuk. If we go Way of the Wicked, then I'll probably bow out. I don't enjoy playing evil characters.

That brings up a good point, the rating of Way of the Wicked. While discussing appropriate content is a good idea for any game, for this one it is critical.

As written, nothing in Way of the Wicked would necessitate a rating above pg-13, for americans, or 12 to 15 by the UK system. Kinda of. While you can certainly have evil overlords doing dastardly things without it pushing too far, hello Darth Vader, we always see that from the perspective of the heroes who then emerge victorious. That's not what happens in our story. In our story, all of the evil deeds will be up close and done by your characters personally, with the intention that they succeed. This can raise some issue.

For example, in the third installment, for me personally the most disturbing(It does have some great moments though. "They army is upon us! Master, what do we do?" "Do? You die!" *Kicks random minion in the mud and flies off.*) Your characters will journey to a pristine valley of peace and healing, then proceed to slaughter the inhabitants and raze the sacred places of healing to the ground. You will personally lead an attack that will result in the deaths of hundreds of totally innocent and defenseless men, women, and children. Pleas for mercy will be met with derision and your monstrous troops will build a pyramid of skulls in the center of town. Your actions will surpass those of the Japanese at Nanking. Nazis? You make them look like amateurs. That's how evil you are. Probably makes you a little uncomfortable. That's healthy. Don't worry though, it doesn't have to be this way.

As written, you lead the attack, kill those who try and stop you, and proceed with your mission to deprive your enemies of divine support by slaying the good outsiders, those sanctimonious pansies, and extinguish the holy flame. The stuff listed above does happen, but only in a background shot kind of way. Maybe a old guy pleading for the life of his family before your troops drag him out of sight for 'interrogation'. Nothing worse than King John's men in Errol Flynn's Robin Hood. That's what I'm comfortable with and how I'd run it. Just don't over analyze and we'll be fine. Keep it cinematic.

I mention these two different versions for a couple reasons. 1) To give the kind of tone we'd be playing in. 2) So nobody is caught unawares by what actually is going on. Yes, war crimes of every sort are taking place, and we are deliberately not going to focus on that. Keep it fun, not horrifying. 3) There are a number of places where the authors of the AP present options for jumping out early. The end of the first installment has a particularly good one. If we should decide that evil isn't our thing, the actions you've taken set things up very well for a return to heroic, or anti-heroic, play.

After breaking the northern wall and seeing the monstrous army you've deliberately unleashed slaughter the hapless peasants you walked among, might our villains suddenly realize the magnitude of what they've done? Or perhaps the sight of a crying child during the sack of the vale touches a heart once thought passed feeling. Or, just ditch that group of bastards and roll up some true-blue heroes to turn back the evil tide. All these and more are options. Don't worry, the first installment is pretty satisfying straightforward villainy. Those jerks locked you away. Well, now it's your turn!

I also would like to try and play in Way of the wicked as an Anti-paladin
its an opertunity i actualy was looking on when i first read about him its just that i dont realy know what to expect nor dont know if i wil like just havn't tried it yet. it would however be my 3rd option.

i do however not play anny PBEM yet so it would be desireble either way slaying mobs without thinking and no remorse by trying to lie and cheat my way to victory sounds cool aswell :-)

my top 3 is most definitly:
1)scared lands
2)Rappan Athuk
3)Way of the Wicked

Ok serious post.

I have only been playing for less than a year with a few RL friends and loved pathfinder instantly. Wanting to be play more often I came online and found this great website.
Will definitely want to DM before too long, when I feel ready.
I like to play all sorts of personalities which is why way of the wicked will be new and should be interesting to me.

So the character idea i have for way of the wicked is a fetching ninja.
A job went wrong and she was captured, as well as abandoned by the one she served for failing the job and left to be sentenced. I shall expand the backstory when this progresses a bit.

I just read a litle on scared lands on wiki and other wiki as you sugested. it seems verry cool, my paladin would defenetly be honoring Corean and ill probably start with wielding a Longsword. instead of a scimitar as im absolute in honoring my God

I also read up a litle Holowfaust its a pritty Dark setting wich i could absolutley be caught up in. although i do have alot of questions about law. considering i would play a paladin.

sounds a great place for a paladin to slay minions all the time :-) and spread some law order and good around

Well, I've already thrown in my vote, and can't wait to see the result.

Way of the wicked would be my last choice. Ive played in several evil games and they always fall apart. There is a reason evil regimes arealways short lived. :-)

Background story: Raymond De La Chation

Movie plot spoiler:

Born into the home of rich parents although they where the lowest of the rich they stil had titles and all the luxuries they needed Ray as he liked to call himself was always very proud honest and good he always pointed out to the other kids when something was wrong. and maybe this is why he was bulied by those same kids some say it is because although rich they where never rich enough for most of the aristocrats.
Ray himself never gave in to the bullys he would rather make friends with the comon folk, people of the town. His mother was a wonderful woman coming from a peasant family she was raised at a farm with all the warmth of a bigg household this is mainly why his father was considert the lowest of the aristocrats. Instead of marying for station or power he maried for love.
As he was growing up he saw those same kids who bulied him (the kids of higher stationed aristocrats) also bullyed his friends within the comon folk. When he trained with his father he one night asked how he could help his friends, his father a Templar told him he should always protect the inocent and fight for the good. but never go against the law. and so a few days later he called the guards when his friend where getting bullied, although he didnt get the answer he wanted, as it was the child of their superiors they left the bulyed unpunished. a few weeks later in an aley he came across the bully again this time they where picking on one of the bakers son's now this time he ran in and leaped on the bigest of the bullys and started hitting him. the bully fell and the others ran.the bulley ran and never bulleyed Ray nor anny of his friends again. this was the day where Ray decided he wanted to fight for the weaker and defend the good.
His parents send him off to the school of the paladins at the youngest age ever. (more to come)
Now more than 20 years later he only has writen contakt with his parents. he is a fullgrown paladin he is traveling the world seeking for Evil to protect the inocent and fight for the good and showing people there is somebody fighting for them!

This is what i got up till now.

Not if you run it like this.

Which way are you leaning Grey?

I'd like to play Scarred Lands. I would like join as a pathfinder kitsune Trickster character, ¿Can I?

My door swings all directions. ;) Seriously though, I'd be happy to run any of the above. It's looking like there are more votes, and enthusiasm, for Way of the Wicked, but I want to give more time for people to jump in before deciding. Holiday weekends are often slow. Besides, more than numbers it's the individual proposals that will determine which is chosen. What kind of character/game would you like to play in Emberverse?

@Ricardo, kitsune aren't really a part of the canon. Won't rule it out though. Take a look at the setting and tell me more.

The Exchange

Evening DM Grey! I would be interested in a Way of the Wicked campaign. I'm thinking about a Dwarven Monk who is part of a flagellant sect. I could go Human. I'm just putting out there that I would be very interested in WotW.

Thanks!
Celeador

I'm only interested in Way of the Wicked. I want to play through it before I buy it and run it for the party I meet in person.
I will fix this character up if chosen, if its not on the profile I have a backstory ready to go with him too. If you want a spellcaster I would like to be your man.
That and I have never run or played in an evil more than once, and that game fell apart; so I think it would be a fun experience.

Hi all

been gaming since the days when elf and dwarf were your class and 4th level spells were near epic.

I remeber ThAC0, a knowing what 18/00 strength really meant.
I also remember M.A.D.D. (actually changed to B.A.D.D. and the Patricia A. Pulling campaign in the 80's - the height of my gaming years)

anyway I would put up a vote for Way of the Wicked. since I started that one and before we even got through introductions the DM vanished.

so I would love to bring that chaarcter back to life.

been in several games here that have died and some I left (not inspired by it) many games I am sctive in and I have just started to DM my own adventure here.

feel free to paruse my aliases and games.

It's a tough call. Probably, leaning towards some kind of martial character since that is almost always what I play. As I said above, I'd kind of like to play a game set earlier in the Emberverse timeline for a bit of world building but that can be a pain so I would not mind a game set later in the plot. I also would really like to see the magic/monster prevalence of the world start of really low and creep up on us as we gained power. This is mostly because I think it would suit the setting better.

If we do a game early in the timeline, I'll probably make some kind of rough-and-tumble brawler type character or maybe an over-grown boy scout of some kind. Later on and it'll be a mercenary of some stripe.

I'm good with any of the options except Way of the Wicked. I'll give you a concept once the decision is made.

Lots of votes for Way of the Wicked then :D

True. There is still time however!

I'm getting the feeling that I'm struggling against a rising tide here.

Then turn sideways and slice the wave.

Are you trying to corrupt someone else?

What do mean? I'm just giving some sound advice for when a wave is coming at you.

*goes back to whatever dark and twisted experiment he's working on.*
