Hoy, not to interrupt the discussion, but... well, I was working on my equipment, specifically alchemical items... and I was reminded how much the crafting rules suck :p
It doesn't quite matter right now, since I can just assume I've had all the time in the world to create stuff at DC20 or lower (taking 10 gives me 23 at the moment), but it seems kind of odd that it would take me an entire day of uninterrupted work to create a simple vial of acid. And that's with a 2x speed increase due to being an Alchemist.
To make a long story short... does the DM have any alternate craft skill rules he's fond of, or am I sticking with the default ones?
Oh, and I think I'm done with selecting equipment, though I need to take care of something before I edit my sheet.

DM Frogfoot |

To be truthful, I hate the crafting rules as well - mostly because despite being a college graduate I never seem to fully grasp how they work. I get around the problem by...never crafting anything.
If anyone else has an alternate ruleset for crafting they'd like to recommend, I'm open to suggestions.

Arren Icewalker |

I do know that shapechange is limited per day, but it says on the race entry that one can remain in beast form for as long as they want.
Are you changing this?

Moriarti |

cool. sounds good. and i don't imagine that Darath and Mori have ever met, but i know that from what i've read, they should get along fairly well. Darath seems very practical and Mori would appreciate that even despite the apparent lack of ambition (or at least the kind of grand ambition Mori has).
speaking of ambition, i expect Mori will find Kysira very... useful.

Harshuk |

The Coldborn do know that Arren wasn't originally a member of the tribe though, right? I'd expect the leaders of the tribe would know everyone's names.
I imagine Harshuk as having delusions of "showing him the ropes" on all things Coldborn.

DM Frogfoot |

The Coldborn are fully aware of Arren's past. However, on the whole, they are a non-judgmental tribe, perhaps one of the most accepting of all Varisia. It was easy for Arren to find a place in the tribe compared to how it would have been if he had been found by Seascarred, for example, or Fanglords.

Oh, I almost forgot, I finished adding my equipment to my sheet.... let's just say I'm a walking medbay and alchemy supply shop and leave it at that.
Well, one note: all the alchemical things I purchased should be DC20 or lower, so by my previous statement (I can craft them all even when taking 10) I slashed them all to 1/3 base price (aka the crafting material cost), indicating they're all self-made. Same with the potions, though to 1/2 cost instead.
I've still got an exam tomorrow and Friday, but you should be fine to start me off whenever you're ready, Frogfoot.

Lysira Silverclaw |

Yes, yes, we do not take well to humans invading our territory.

Lysira Silverclaw |

I've been enjoying following though!

Lysira Silverclaw |

I am starting to think I might need to change my name. I think you confused Kenna with me again. Kenna was watched over by the Alpha male, I didn't see if she was a Matron or not. I was the almost Alpha Female (several years running) and a Matron. I'll change it will cause less confusion. I only have a few more posts that I can do that though.

Arren Icewalker |

I'm not going to admit how many times I f5 this thread.
But...it's a lot.
S' quite alright, me too.

Kenna Icemane |

Wouldit be too late to retcon mygreatsword into a bastard sword and make that two-handed fighter a free hand fighter? I thinkthat would make my character a little more interesting to play and work less dysmally as i have come to expect it to over the past few days.
It's okay. I just didn't want to wait and catch it after it was too late.
Might it be because we use the same avatar for our forum account, and have the same character as our character avatars and both have female witchwolf characters with one monk level whose names start with K and end with A and last names referencing their hair color?
I would understand that.

Kenna Icemane |

you might have missed what I asked just before:

I dont mind if it's not doable, just wanted to ask.
EDIT: Reminder to self: don't post as Threeshades directly after Kana.

Kana |

Also realized I forgot to get the last of her minor equipment. I'll do those updates while I'm name changing.
Vysira or Lysira Silverclaw work for you Frogfoot? I'm avoiding posting with her till I change the name because I'm currently under 10 still but only barely. And I almost went Silverclaw in the first place anyway. Debating between Lysira and Vysira for her first name. I wanted to have something that sounded similar to Kysira but was different visually.

Second on the 'L', if you're taking a vote :p
Also, a general comment: there are auto-generated RSS feeds for both the discussion and gameplay threads (and recruitment, but that's kinda pointless now). If you have an RSS manager, or feel like getting one, it could help with the F5'ing.
If you're using chrome(ium), I suggest Slick RSS. Sits right next to the address bar, customizeable 'check' timer, and it displays a notice when there's a new entry.
EDIT: ...on the downside, it also means I get disappointed after I post when the notification comes up telling me about... my own post. Darn Pavlovian responses...

Lysira Silverclaw |

Well that's the one I'm going with ^^ I played with it, some and I think it fits her best. Plus I like the sound of it as well.

Lysira Silverclaw |

I do too, and I almost did pick 'V'. But I'm happy with the choice.

Moriarti |

ha! those silly witchwolves have it backwards. you see, if i'm going to go against you, i'd much prefer you didn't notice until i'd already won. well, that's not entirely true... i suppose someone intelligent enough to thwart my attempts could prove entertaining.
