The Elevator
finishing up from last night
Fleeing the robot yet again, managing only to score one minor hit on it, the party checks their loot findings while Kovax repairs the elevator.
Loot id'd in Discussion
After dodging some electrical sparks, the entire room lights up and buzzes, the warning note disappearing. Four panels stacked on top of each other, light up, lined in blue. The second one from the top is brighter than the others and they all have Androffan words written on them.
Deck 4: Engineering
Deck 3: Science (the bright one)
Deck 2: Crew
Deck 1: Docking

Urgeon Porpentine |

Urgeon examines the alien runes. "This is a description of each level. You're correct Ridic, we're on the third floor. Deck 4 is Engineering, Deck 3, our current deck, is Science, Deck 2 is Crew and Deck 1 is Docking. Docking for what, I wonder?" Urgeon shrugs, "Let's find out."
Urgeon helps Kovax activate the elevator.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Urgeon Porpentine |

As Kovax starts pressing buttons, Urgeon explains the meaning of the flashing words, "It is an error message of sorts. The elevator is unable to take us to the first floor. I guess any floor is as good as the next. Let's see if you can make it work, Kovax."

DMFflash |

Elevator
Kovax gets the same error message when he hits Deck 2, but as soon as he touches Deck 4, the room lurches suddenly nearly knocking everyone to their feet and then begins to smoothly rise. After several seconds, it stops and the doors to the east automatically open.
You each gain 300xp for successfully figuring out, repairing, and using the elevator
Improvised Kennel
A cloying, animalistic stink fills the air of this hemispherical room. To the north and south, curved ramps lead up to hallways leading out of the room, while several doors sit in the east wall. Flickering lights flash and strobe on the ceiling, and the gray metal walls are scorched, dented, and partially broken in places exposing colorful wires or metallic struts within. Four mounds of rubble, cloth, and bones lie scattered around the room.
Upon each of these piles, a dog_like creature is curled. They growl but with a high pitch, breaking into yips as they leap to their feet and rush forward, slavering at the jaws. The creatures have striped pelts and whiskers with long muzzles and razor sharp teeth.

Improvised Kennel Round 1
Urgeon, Razorend, Kovax, Dogs, Ridic --> guy who rolls a 16 goes last, ridiculous init in this party
Urgeon, warned by his scorpion, whips out Khonnir's wand and fires two bolts blasting a dog off of its heap. With a yelp it hits the ground unmoving.
Kovax and Razorend hold their ground, but the mechanist cuts down both dogs before they reach either of them.
On the south side, Ridic gets bit in the leg before he cuts the dog in half.
And as quickly as the combat started ... it's over.
END COMBAT! You each receive 200xp
A quick search of the room turns up nothing of great interest. Two hallways slope down away from this deck in the NW and SW corners of the room. The SW is filled with rock and dirt from an apparent collapse.
The doors in the middle of the eastern wall require a white access card. The others are all accessible via black card.
The ceiling tiles flicker with light, making looking for things difficult except for those with lowlight or darkvision. Additionally the room thrums with a low thundering vibration.
The humans suffer a -5 to all Perception Checks on this deck. The androids suffer a -5 to audible Perception checks

Urgeon holds his head and attempts to locate the source of the vibration and whether there may be a way to stop it. "I can hardly seen anything in this flickering light. Describe what you see Razorend."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 5 = 10
Knowledge, Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
He then pulls out his black card and opens each door in turn.

DM Fflash |

Urgeon opens the 3 sets of doors. The southern two open into hallways, while the northern one opens into a room full of cargo.
Loading Dock
The walls of this chamber are battered and dented, and flickering lights on the ceiling give the room a phantasmagoric cast. A mound of rubble sits heaped to the north, while numerous strange containers lie in haphazard piles throughout the chamber. A pair of desks with chairs are placed to the south.
Two massive half-orcs wearing leather armor with pieces of scrap metal embedded in it and carrying tremendously large chunks of machinery, sift through the junk. They are surprised to see you.
You have a surprise round if you choose to use it. Roll initiative and take a single move or standard action. NOT BOTH!

Razorend leaps behind some boxes as Kovax draws his glaive (can't ready also with a single action ... and per our live session, you always travel with your hands empty so you need to draw. You can still move and draw if you wish to reposition for better AoOs)
Urgeon walks around with the wand of grease in his hand? If so, Reflex below. If not, he draws it this round

Urgeon Porpentine |

Since I wasn't specific, we'll assume that Urgeon still has to draw the wand. In the future, he will carry both his wands.
Round 1
Urgeon will use his first round action to cast grease under the far half orc.

Razorend |

Keeping to the shadows and hoping Ridic keeps the half-orc's attention, Razorend sidles around to a flanking position and attacks.
Kukri (stealth/flank): 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20; Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Loading Dock Round 1
Razorend glides between the crates silently, emerging of the Horc scav and almost completely hamstrings him. It howls in rage.
Kovax climbs up onto one of the boxes gaining slightly higher ground (and an additonal bonus to hit) and finishes off the horc, severing its head nearly completely.
Urgeon greases the rear half orc but it just barely holds its balance. It steps carefully forward to attack Ridic swinging a makeshift axe made of pieces of scrap. He catches the druid in the arm, opening a huge gash.
It shouts off a word loudly in a foreign language.
"Intruders!

Razorend glides up and slashes the next horc, not getting as much damage but still catching the creature unawares. Kovax aids with another minor blow and Urgeon postures causing the horc to bow up and spit back,
"Shaddup, primate ... ya don'ts belong here and ya know it. Ya bit off more den ya can chew."
And with that he steps out of the flank and swings at Ridic missing wide.
Ridic swings back but the horc ducks away.
You hear a commotion from the door to the southwest.

Loading Dock Round 3
Init: Razorend, Kovax, Urgeon, Horcs, Ridic
Razorend slashes again but the orc jumps away ... only to catch Kovax's blade square in the chest, his breath escaping in a sigh along with a bloody bubble. Kovax puts away his blade and steps forward.
Urgeon positions himself near the door and Ridic moves onto the horc's corpse to ready his scythe. (making an assumption here)
Loading Dock Round 4
Init: Urgeon, Scrappers, Razorend, Kovax, Horcs, Ridic
The door opens and Urgeon spies a small humanoid with the head of a rat standing in front of him with 2 more behind him. They all carry small crossbows humming with sound in one hand and small swords in the other. He lets fly with a blast of color knocking two of them out of their senses immediately. The third one, just out of range of the spell lets out a squeak and lets a bolt fly that emits an ear-piercing shriek as it speeds toward Urgeon nicking his arm but causing a slight painful sonic vibration in his bones. (Couldn't find where Urgeon cast mage armor so assuming it's not up)

At Razorend for Round 4 actions. Initiative updated for readied actions.

Razorend |

Changing posture into his Leaping Spirit Dance, Razorend slips into the room and rolls past the creature with a diving somersault.
Acro to avoid AoO vs CMD: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 ... probably not enough, so I'll earn an AoO

Urgeon will drag out the unconscious rat men and will begin binding their hands and legs.
