Liberty's Edge

I am looking to run an AP of you (the players) choosing.

What do I mean by this?

I am going to recruit a group of players/character and let them choose what AP they'd like to play.

Posting Requirements

Once per day, absolute minimum. Even then if you're only posting once per day, expect to get NPCed on occasion. More realistically I want to see two or three posts per day.

My Promise to You

We will get through the first book of whatever AP the winning characters decide on. That said, if you guys want to get through more of the AP than the first book you have to get me interested. RPGs are a two-way street. If maintaining this game becomes a chore because I'm constantly pushing you guys along I will get disinterested and end it after the first book.

Character Building and Allowed Materials

I want to see interesting characters both mechanically and RP-wise that are well thought out and cohesive within the Pathfinder universe.

20 point point-buy
Core races only (dwarf, elf, etc.)
Other races will be considered on a case by case basis
All official Pathfinder material
3rd party stuff allowable on a case by case basis

That said, I reserve the right to ban/nerf/houserule any and all things. If a feat/spell/whatever you pick up ends up being the victim of these bans/nerfs/houserules I'll work with you to adjust your character accordingly.

Don't bombard me with 3rd party material requests. Please try to limit the amount of reading I need to do for this.

Your submission should include:

A) What AP(s) you would like to play.
B) Your character mechanics (Give as much detail as you can. A full character sheet doesn't hurt.)
C) Your character fluff (Backstory, Appearance, Zodiac sign, etc)
D) Your PBP history (Keep this brief but if you're in an active or longstanding PBP game, this would be the time to mention it.)

-Any; I've never gotten past the first scenario or so in an AP PBP game before it folded.
-Human Sorcere with the Fey bloodline, specializing in enchantment spells; a few character sheets are in the profile.
-Lazy (neutral) Good layabout from a great line of druids, backstory in background.
-Been playing PBP for about four months now; I'm in a fair few games but I've had few difficulties balancing them.

Aran here was made specifically for Kingmaker AP (one of the more popular, as I understand).

I believe that you will find more than enough information in the profile, including full character sheet, as well as quite detailed background, developed specifically to fit with Kingmaker AP.

If Aran is to be chosen, I am not "exclusive" in regards to this specific AP (Kingmaker). Most probably I could be talked into playing almost any other as well, but that might require some additional tuning of his background.

As for PbP history, I have been active for some time now (more than a year, I'd say), with one major interruption (period between July-September, due to personal/health issues). I am trying my best to post at least once a day, sometimes even more, but honestly due to my job (I travel a lot), there are some days or weekends when I miss daily post.

If you need more iinformation, I am at your disposal. Cheers

A) What AP(s) you would like to play.
I'm honestly up for any AP; haven't read majority of APs in my subscription, so nothing to spoil for me.

B) Your character mechanics (Give as much detail as you can. A full character sheet doesn't hurt.)
An elvish ranger, hired out to guide a group through wilderness areas (stats forthcoming - would like to utilize the spell-less ranger variant from Kobold Press).

C) Your character fluff (Backstory, Appearance, Zodiac sign, etc)
Neutral to Chaotic Neutral, not afraid of a fight, with a wolf animal companion who means the world to him.

D) Your PBP history (Keep this brief but if you're in an active or longstanding PBP game, this would be the time to mention it.)
I GM a face-to-face game, and recently began running a Midgard PbP here; otherwise no other games currently, and would enjoy being a player again!

I'll get to work on a character idea,.... And get back to you.

Thinking of a human ranger... Maybe. Or a fighter.

1 vote for Rise of the Runelords!

A) I would be up for any of the APs, as I haven't played or read any of them. As such, it is difficult to judge how appealing each one would be ahead of time, but given the quality of Paizo's work in other areas the reputation of the company for high-quality adventures, I am pretty confident all of them are great.

B) I think I would like to try my hand at playing a spontaneous divine caster. Hence an Oracle would probably be my first choice. Time and the Heavens look like interesting mysteries. Race would be either Human, Half-Elf or Elf.

C) Given that I like playing heroic/good characters, I would like to play a character in this game. It would probably be best to tailor the background of the character to a specific AP. Of course, that has not been chosen yet, so I am going to have to go with the notion that he is an exile from a faraway land (hence will be easy to fit into any AP).

D) I have little PbP experience (i.e. almost none), but I have been a player and a GM since the 2nd edition of AD&D. Currently, I am the GM/DM for an in-person game (indeed, in my current in-person group, I am always the GM/DM).

A) I would be interested in any AP. I am DMing Kingmaker right now.
B) Gnome Summoner. Small mounted fighter with medium mount.
C) Lofty aspiration of greatness and higher calling.
D) Currently in a PbP that I wish posted more times per day.

I'd be keen to run an AP. I've been itching to run through Kingmaker (KM), Second Darkness (SD), and/or Carrion Crown (CC).

Character mechanics:
I have a different character in mind for each AP so it really depends. Generally, I prefer 'hybrid' and 'tactical' characters so the characters would likely all be something like that.

KM, I'll likely roll up a Druid that intends on going for the Green Faith Acolyte PRC. Something like Amoonrann Stormheart (one of my aliases that attempted to run a failed KM game [we didn't get very far]) except I'll swap out the race for either the Vanaras (pending approval, of course) or one of the core races (likely Human). Storm Druid archetype, and then I *may* splash into a level of Sohei Monk for the wisdom armor and martial proficiency depending on how my roll develops in the party. Given the prereqs for the Green Faith Acolyte, however, I'd need to know that there is a Druid grove I can at least contact and make attempts to progress the level of Great Druid.

SD, I have one of my favourite characters who fits the campaign perfectly. The character is Eris Kallisti (also one of my aliases). He's a Bard/Fighter (Lore Warden). Basically, a Jack Harkness type of character and total manslut. I'll likely swap out the race from the Tiefling to either the Azata-Blooded Aasimar (again, pending approval) or a Half-Elf (which is really the way I envision the character). Eris is a Jack of all Trades who will focus moreso on combat with either the bow or the whip, depending on party mechanics and how the character develops.

For CC, I'm keen to run my take on the Inquisitor class. The character will ideally be Vanaras, but barring that I'll likely make him an Elf, or Human. Essentially, the character is a Monk/Rogue (five levels max of rogue at endgame). Exactly what kind of monk is still up in the air, either the Flowing Monk or Master of Many Styles. And the rogue will likely be a straight rogue.

Backstories:

Oh mai this could take a while and I'll post them as I finish them. For now, my alias for Eris Kallisti is the only mildly complete one, so feel free to check it out.

I can, however, offer the basics of each character here:

Amoonrann: word of the expedition into the reclaiming the Stolen Lands reached Amoonrann's grove and Amoonrann was dispatched to assist in their efforts for some kind of Druidy reason or another (ensure that balance is maintained in the reclaimed lands, for example). However, this depends on how much 'liberty' we're allowed to take with character backstory in terms of bringing in new institutions and so forth.

Moony's description: Moony is tall for a Vanaras, standing at just under 6' tall. Here fur is a pale gray, almost silver, which clashes starkly with her golden eyes. Moony is overall slender, but she shows some muscle-definition which 'bulks her up' a bit. She wears her hair in long, thick, dreadlocks that reach down her back to just below her hips. The hair is ornately decorated with various 'natural' ornaments including a branch from her grove's eldest tree which reaches to the sky; and several wooden rings at various points on her hair that are painted gold. On particularly windy days, her hair will blow about making a distinct rattling sound as the wooden ornaments connect with one another.

Moony's most distinctive trait, however, is that she has gone to great lengths to dye her hair dark brown. This is distinctive because for most Vanaras, their hair is the same colour as their fur.

Eris: Eris is the product of a noblewoman's affair with an Azata and, when he was born, his father tried to have him killed. Eris was taken from noble estate to a temple of Calistria where he spent most of his childhood. The temple, essentially, doubled as a brothel and growing up, Eris spent his time among the church 'workers' learning several tricks of the trade as he worked. Eventually, a rival brothel raided the temple and killed or captured most of the workers; Eris was among those captured and he was forced into sexual servitude for years. Eventually, Eris snapped when a client pushed him too far and Eris killed the man and fled his homeland. Eventually, he found his way to Riddleport where he has spent the rest his time working as a freelance prostitute. He is only now settling into his life, having largely forgotten the reasons why he fled in the first place.

Description: The most distinctive part about Eris is that he is undeniably attractive; he just seems to be built in such a way that he is appealing to anyone that sets their eyes upon him. He is moderately well-toned and defined giving him an aura of masculinity, but he has hips and 'sway to his hips' that is distinctly feminine. He almost always has a sly smile on his face; not something overtly mocking or sinister, but something that always suggests he knows more about what's going on then he may be letting on. What betrays him, however, are his eyes; a pale violet -- but they are eyes that are far too old for him. They are the eyes of someone who has seen great suffering in their time; the eyes of someone who is merely going through the motions.

Other things of note: his hair is of average length and largely unkempt and has a brilliant golden shine to it. His back, however, is riddled with scars and burns that didn't heal properly left over from days long-gone. Were it not for those scars, Eris would truly be an untarnished beauty.

The Monk/Rogue: I haven't decided on a name for this character yet...so I will call him Cag for now. His general backstory, however, is that he is the product of, basically, a selective breeding program at a temple of Asmodeus. His parents were forcibly mated together to maximize the genetic probability of a perfect assassin. Almost from birth, Cag was raised in a grueling environment of survival of the fittest where everyday he would have to defend himself from one lethal attack or another. Cag always survived. He learned to be the most devious and sneaky of the bunch, preferring to strike when others least expected it. All the while, of course, Cag was indoctrinated into the ways of Asmodeus. The end result, of course, was a genetically pure and unquestioning killing machine.

One of his first assignments brought him to Ustalav and he happened to save a man's life. Quite by accident; for Cag was after the men who were assaulting the elderly gentlemen. Were it not for that, Cag would have been quite content to let the man die. Upon returning to his temple, Cag got word the man had died and that Cag had been requested to return and take part in the funeral proceedings. Exactly why Cag agreed to go is somewhat of a mystery; but what was even more a mystery is why his handlers at the temple permitted him to go. Cag was on edge: something wasn't right here, but he didn't know what. All he could do, however, was act normally and prepare himself for the inevitable 'surprise' that awaited him.

Description: His general description is like most elves: tall and slender. His hair is average length and raven black and his eyes are a vibrant green. The most notable fact about Cag is the intricate tattoo that covers the majority of his body. While his face remains bare, from the neck downward Cag's body is an intricate series of runes meaning lord only knows what.

As to my PBP history...on these forums, sadly, my history is less than great. I've been in two campaigns that fizzled out before we got too far into them (a KM and a SD campaign). I'm currently in a Way of the Wicked campaign with the alias Treize Seischiro, but it is moving...sluggishly and I'm looking for something more my speed.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

I would be very interested. I am a consistent poster and can post at least once a day if not more often (depending on what there is to react to). I have a number of characters that, like many others here, were in AP PBPs which died out. In particular, I'd love to play Nadiya the Witch (see my aliases), who I made for Carrion Crown.

I've also got Ceru the Gnome Rogue which I made for Jade Regent (who got into TWO different Jade Regent campaigns, both of which were abandoned by their GMs before the first swamp adventure finished.

And I have Misha the Archeologist Bard who was made for the Serpent's Skull (is that the right title?).

Ceru and Misha could also be tweaked for other APs easily. Nadiya is particularly flavored for Carrior Crown although she could also be tweaked for other games. I'd also be happy to build other characters but you can at least see what I've got in my stable.

All three characters are in my aliases -- they may need to be tweaked for your char creation rules but all are pretty close, Paizo only, etc. Character backgrounds are included in profile. If you want one submission only, take Nadiya.

I am IN a version of a PBP Kingmaker game (although it's homebrew and tweaked a lot) and I own Skull and Shackles so those would be not as good candidates for me to play with, although I imagine I could probably play through both without metagaming.

The Kingmaker game I am in has gone for 2-3 years and is very slow paced. The other PBP I am in currently is a Mutants and Masterminds game, which is on hiatus.

The other PBPs I have joined have all petered out, usually due to GMs losing interest or realizing they had less time than they thought. Some just disappeared, others had the decency of telling the players they had bitten off more than they could chew and apologized and closed the game formally. Which comes to an expectation _I_ have of PBP GMs, which is to communicate with the players and, barring emergencies where the Internet cannot be accessed at all, to take the 30 seconds it takes to log in and tell the players if they either need a break or need to end the game due to extenuating circumstances. Real life happens and I hold absolutely no bitterness toward someone who is honest both with themselves and their players about what's going on in their life and makes the right decision to hiatus or end the game due to personal circumstances. I DO have lots of bitterness toward people who don't have enough of a spine to come out and say so, and leave their players hanging on for weeks after they actually decided to let the game end. If you find my expectation to be unreasonable, I accept that may keep me from being a contender in joining the game.

A) I am down for anything except Kingmaker.(Several books into that IRL)
B) Dwarven Magus, Soul Forger archetype, Arcane bond to his warhammer.
C) Named Felek Runehammer. Comes from a long line of magic smiths. A bit greedy with a mercenary attitude but overall not a bad person. Willing to stick his neck out for friends as long as it doesn't affect his purse too much. Would fit in any AP where standard dwarves work.
D) Zero experience with PbP, decades of tabletop gaming experience.

A) Looking to play Rise of the Runelords

B) Dwarven Barbarian, no archetype(s); rages and hits things with his longaxe (and helmet if they get too close)

C) Pirknok Stonemight (full backstory) was raised among the Shoanti as part of a long-standing treaty between the two peoples. He's fleeing to Sand Point with the remaining members of his Shoanti tribe after a particularly nasty attack by giants.

D) Just started PbPing about a month ago. I'm currently "in" four, only one of which is really moving at a reasonable pace. Sample RP available from any of them.

I don't want to be difficult, but this is tough for me as I make a new character for every submission, based on the AP itself and the type of game the GM wants to run. I'm very interested in a fast paced game as well.

I am a Ravenloft fanatic and really want to play Carrion Crown. While I can play any race/class I've thought of a few character concepts:

Spoiler:

1) An elven servant and worshipper of Arazni from when she was alive, who has lived in seclusion in Sovyrian in grief since then. His skills are rusty and his goddess is dead, so he would be first level - some type of melee shooting for Knight of Ozem PrC and would return to Golarion if something stirred in Gallowspire.

2) A paladin of Iomede starting her duty amongst the forces surrounding Gallowspire. She would be drawn into any conflict in the area as part of her duties.

3) A sorceror with the undead bloodline, born in the area and tainted from the actions of his ancestors. They would be drawn to necromancy but fighting it.

I am also very interested in playing Second Darkness and would like to play an elven/dwarven drow hunter or a drow renegade.

I've got a tiefling sorceress already made for Legacy of Fire.

I'm interested Rise of the Runelords and would want to play a full spellcaster trying to learn Thassalonian magic.

I started Council of Thieves and did not like it. I have just applied for a Jade Regent campaign and if I am not accepted, I'd love to have someone else run the character through one.

I'm a very good writer and roleplayer. I make very detailed characters who learn and grow throughout the adventure. I'm sure I can make a character you and the party will like if you give me a better idea of what you are interested in.

I am currently playing a Ravenloft PBP with a witch. I earned entry amongst a great deal of competition. I am also playing a PBP arena game here with a drow cavalier.

This is my entry for the Jade Regent game. Players have not yet been determined.

A) I would like to make another stab at Rise of the Runelords but I can potentially work with another AP apart from Carrion Crown (playing it IRL). This character was built for RR but the first time around he was not selected and the second time we were abandoned by our DM after the first encounter.
B) Basic concept is that he is a two-weapon ranger (sword and shield) so he will be something of an AC tank while dealing out dual weapon damage. He is also using the Sable Company Marine and Skirmisher archetypes, sacrificing spells and his first favored terrain for a hippogriff and some very interesting abilities. Both of those will come into play at later levels.

Originally a 15 point buy character can update him to this spread:

20 PB:
Str 17
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 10
Wis 11
Cha 10

C) You'll see two versions in the alias but all you really need to know is that he was a Sable Company recruit that got thrown out after an altercation with his drill sergent. He has since become a drover and teamster to keep himself fed.
D) I just started this year but have been involved in 8 PBPs, most of them seem to die pretty quickly which has irritated me. I'm a good writer and know the game and the conventions of PBP well.

I thought this was an open call for the Associated Press, but hey looks interesting. I'll keep an eye on this one.

Adventus:
Sorry to see that you guys' RotRL campaign died... that one looked like you had a pretty good group going. I was following it at the time, and liked what you guys worked out for your backstory. Perhaps we'll get to enjoy RotRL under Feral.

Oladon:
Yeah, that is what made it suck so much. I was really having a good time with it and the other characters. Plus, my ranger was the most effective in the first (and only) fight.

Adventus:
Heh. I can't say I'm huge on optimization, but it is fun to feel effective in combat. With that said, I generally come up with a concept I like first and then stat them based on that... and I've never played a barbarian, so I'm keen to try Pirknok (poor guy, getting such an un-dwarven name from his adopted family).

Oladon:
Not optimized per se but characters built to charge headlong into battle were the minority.

Adventus:
Ah, cool. Pirknok is definitely in that group as well.

Oladon:
If he gets in then I may go for mithral full plate so that I can tank while you hit things really, really hard.

Adventus:
Sounds good to me.

GM: traits and starting gold?

Liberty's Edge

Average per class starting gold.

2 traits.

Dark Archive

I'd like to express interest.

A. I'd like to give any AP a try, honestly, as I am very much enjoying the ones I am currently involved in.

B. and C. I have a couple ideas for characters that I'd like to play.:
1) Human (Taldan) Fighter (Lore Warden) who grabs Dervish Dancer and then maybe some Trip feats. Friendly, happy-go-lucky guy who is not particularly charismatic, blundering splendidly in most social situations. Fairly average looking human male, black hair and brown eyes.
2) Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Abadar who is a hard-assed protector of the law. Eventually will be based around using a heavy repeating crossbow and maybe-maybe-not parroting Judge Dredd. Will know how to relax and let loose when it's time to rest. Heavily-tanned fellow, but a little spindly, black hair and gray eyes.
3) Half-orc Witch (Scarred Witch Doctor) who is the only survivor of his tribe, looking to make a name for himself and hopefully gather orcs and half-orcs to his side, in order to rebuild the tribe. Very sage and calm for a half-orc. Heavily scarred olive-green skin, black hair, red eyes.
4) Human (Shoanti) Ranger (Infiltrator) who will use the Thunder and Fang fighting style. Will have a wolf as an animal companion, who is his best friend, and will generally think of the rest of the party as part of his "pack," to likely mixed feelings. Was exiled from his tribe, and is now a traveling guide and adventurer. Short black hair and amber eyes.

D. I'm currently in three PbP games, and am applying for another. My longest running game is a Carrion Crown game (hi Bjorn!), and I'm also playing in a Kingmaker game. The other PbP game is a homebrew Walking Dead campaign.

I also intend to run Rise of the Runelords for my IRL group of friends starting soon, but as an unemployed college student, I have plenty of free time to spend on being active in my PbP games in addition to doing classwork.

Thanks, DM. Pirknok should be ready to go.

Are you willing to provide feedback on submitted characters that are (and aren't) chosen?

I've got my character updated for 20 point buy.
How long are you going to recruit?

C'mon Oladon! Together we can swamp the DM in questions!

But then he might unconsciously develop an aversion to us, which would influence his decisions! We wouldn't want that, now would we?

Silver Crusade

A. B. and C.
This is tough. I have characters made up for several APs that have collapsed or haven't been accepted. Of the APs out there, I am interested in playing:

Council of Thieves. Dingo is a Halfling Gunslinger of the Mysterious Stranger archetype. He is an escaped slave looking to free other slaves and to attack the institution of slavery.

Serpent's Skull. Japheeth Embenda is a Bekyar Mwangi Summoner with an aquatic base form Eidolon who has skills in Survival.

Kingmaker. Marius, the Chelaxian Conjuror. He is a Chelaxian nationalist looking to eventually create a Chelaxian-sympathetic state in the Stolen Lands. (Stats can be up later today)

Curse of the Crimson Throne. Eli Blakewater is a Human Alchemist who has fallen afoul of the drug trade in Magnimar. Eli's background and gear needs to be adjusted as he was in a homebrew that died.

Rise of the Runelords... Second Darkness... Shattered Star... Age of Worms even... I'm willing to play any of them! :)

D. I am playing in three active PBPs on this board and one on another board. I am also considering running a PBP myself.

I sure would like to be involved, and I love that you're giving people the choice. I have several characters I could submit, but one I've wanted to play for awhile.

A) What AP(s) you would like to play: Skull & Shackles or Serpants Skull are my top picks. I'm open to others.

B) Your character mechanics:
Benton Fisk was intended for Skull & Shackles... but the basics can stay. Here's Benton Fisks' character sheet
C) Your character fluff:
He grew up an outcast in his own home, and his small hamlet community was no better. The other kids called him names and he always seemed to be fighting to protect his mother from names which had no meaning to him, but the way the others said them was enough to start a fight. As soon as he was able he joined the town militia, and though he was still ridiculed, it was to a much lesser extent. He was part of something, his mother was safer with him gone, and he was learning something worthwhile. He was assigned to the medical core, and he excelled in the various trainings.

He served for many years, until one day an Orc raid all but wiped out the small community. He wandered then, town to town, eventually coming to Diamond Lake. He had a small Medical cart and patched up dock workers to earn enough coin to survive. All he wanted was to be left alone and allowed to quietly drink the memories away now and again.

D) Your PBP history:
I currently GM two games; Carrion Crown and Council of Thieves - both active (1/day posting minimum).
I also play in a Pathfinder Society Game (Module #3) and a homebrew game. The former is 1/day, the later is less than once a day, maybe 1/every two days.

Liberty's Edge

I'm seeing a bit of interest in Kingmaker and I thought I'd explain a few more things.

If we end up doing Kingmaker, I plan to drastically reduce/streamline the kingdom building aspects of the campaign. I've ran that AP up through the 4th book and I have no desire to repeat that process. If this is a deal-breaker for you, please post changing your AP preference.

Nah, that's perfectly fine with me. As well as other AP's :-)

Interested as well, this character is ready to go, backstory is modifiable to fit anywhere. Would love to play in any AP, but lean towards runelords.

Dark Archive

I'd be okay with you streamlining Kingmaker if that's indeed what you end up running, and I can definitely keep my knowledge from my other game and this one separate, too.

Well, I would say, let's do something other than Kingmaker then. I have played none of the APs yet, so I cannot judge an AP from personal experience, but if the AP leaves you frustrated, as Kingmaker seems have left you, it is best to go for a different AP. Besides, Kingmaker appears to be a very popular AP on the boards, which may mean it is very good, but it also suggests that a Kingmaker game might be easier to find then some others. I haven't seen any of the latest adventure path the "Shattered Star" starting recently, for example.

In any case, it would be helpful if you indicated which adventure paths you have, so that we can limit our suggestion to them.

This is Capricornus with Marius Cambari for a Kingmaker campaign. I have never played the kingdom building rules, so can't say changing them is a bad thing.

Stats and crunch in profile. Background, personality and other fluff up soon.

I am interested in this as well.

I have run CotCT from beginning to end, run Carrion crown to book 4 which ended with a TPK.

I have played in two kingmaker games, one fell apart due to lack of player interest in book 2, and a second time with us party wiping in book 3.

Currently I am in a Skulls and Shackles game in book 2.

As for PBPs, I have participated in roughly a half dozen PFS scenarios now, a couple of them were with characters of yours (Erin/Tanrov)(Artemis/Markus).

If I were selected I would probably play a switch-hit ranger or a witch, but would hold off until seeing which AP was selected. I also would like to add that you should post what AP's you have and would prefer to run, so you do not have to buy others.

I have been dying to get this character into a long lasting RotRL.

He as been in at least three, I think. At least one here on the boards, by Iron-Dice and another on a different site.

Dairkal hasn't ever made it very far, definitely not passed the first book.

He is made with an optional racial trait from ARG, which I hope is fine. Other than that, he is pretty much all core/APG.

As I posted just recently, none of my current games are APs, though I have been in plenty. Steel Wolves is my longest running PbP by far, though it is not an AP.

This is the Character I am most interested in playing with at the moment.

Feral wrote:
A) What AP(s) you would like to play.

At the moment, I am currently involved in PbP AP's for Kingmaker, Jade Regent, Shattered Star & the Original AP, Shackled City. Any others I would be interested in, although Second Darkness or Carrion Crown I would prefer to play with characters I originally developed for those AP's rather than this character.

Feral wrote:
B) Your character mechanics (Give as much detail as you can. A full character sheet doesn't hurt.)

With some adjustments, this guy is my current favorite to try out. At present, he is written for a Serpent's Skull PbP, but wasn't selected. He has an extra Bonus Feat & Bonus Trait because of GM preference, but I can shave those fairly easily.

If Carrion Crown is the group's preference, this lovely lass would be my choice & in the unlikely event that Second Darkness was the group's choice, then this delicate flower would be my presentation. She is currently written up for a Rise Campaign I was trying to get into after the Crimson Throne Campaign she was in seemed to go on indefinite hiatus after little more than a single scene. Sigh.

Feral wrote:
C) Your character fluff (Backstory, Appearance, Zodiac sign, etc)

Grey's concept in thumbnail sketch is essentially a Halfling slave from somewhere in Cheliax who encountered a 'super-suit' (I.E. bonded with a Synthesist Eidolon), escaped his slavery & ran off to seek freedom somewhere far away from there... Brainstorming during the Serpent's Skull Recruitment lead me to the 'Rudyard Kipling's Kim/Ben 10 Mashup' he is currently, which I will admit still tickles my fancy so I would like to keep as much of that as possible.

Both Blossom & Ysmerelda have muost of their personality/History already on the Character Sheets.

Feral wrote:
D) Your PBP history (Keep this brief but if you're in an active or longstanding PBP game, this would be the time to mention it.)

As I stated earlier, I am in four currently-running AP's. Also prepping to GM a Mouse Guard homegrown PbP & play in a sixth PbP. I spend far too much of my life online so posting at least once a day is not a difficulty. When it has been a difficulty, I have always given advance notice, including duration.

Liberty's Edge

I've seen a few characters I liked and a few characters that I've liked. Keep them coming.

Proof that you can keep up the pace is very much a strong point in your favor.

I tend to frown heavily on bleeding-edge optimization builds. Stat abusing synthesist builds are categorized far into the 'not interesting' box. A synthesist build that was focused on spellcasting, might.

I can optimize, we all can. Optimization is not going to impress me.

As for close-out date, I plan to have some finalists picked out by Friday and an official party chosen by the end of the weekend.

I wouldn't call this guy Bleeding-edge Optimized. This is Grey's Synthesist form. He doesn't spend a great deal of time in it.

The other purpose behind the Character is that I have discovered it is really fun to play both the Summoner & the Eidolon as two separate Characters & I wanted to try that with the 'Armor' having this semi-independent 'life' as well as being this thing that protected another.

To be honest, I suck at optimization. At least it seems like it sometimes. I ere too much on the 'does this really make sense?' side of things.

Time for a little Q & A.

This is going to test you ability to keep up (this thread is moving quick) and see how well thought out your character is.

You mention Arduino's family line defending the forest (at one point you mention the Worldwound) but you never specify which lands/forest.

Where did the elder Arduino start out?

Your character is a fey sorcerer which lends itself to enchantment (and thus save-or-die style spells). Do you intend to pursue these sorts of spells? This style of character tends to put the DM and the party at large in a bit of a difficult spot. If he's effective every encounter is ended by one spell (which is generally not fun for anyone). If his spells are denied, he may end up feeling useless. Do you have a way to mitigate these problems?

Does Aran still think about Grace? Would he return home if he learned that something became of Kissem and/or she was otherwise available again?

What sort of relationship did Aran end up having with the large Medvyed man that saved Aran from his near beating? Does he have a name? Do the Medvyeds know about Aran's rather humble beginnings? What do they think about them?

Get me this PDF (legally please) or at least the relevant parts. A link to the SRD works.

I tend to like spell-less variants (magic isn't magical when everyone has it).

Also, I need more of a background/character concept.

I like some of the things you said here, particularly the bit about heroic characters. Get me some sort of background (it can be vague in parts). If you can't write up a background without a specific AP, just choose one and write the background for that.

You're going to have to give me more than that.

Where did your gnome get his magic from? Was it in-born, the result of a magical accident, the reward for years of diligent study, etc, etc...

Tell me about his eidolon, what's it look like? Does it fly (or do you plan for it to fly)? What's the gnome's relationship with his eidolon? Best friend? Family? lover?

What does your gnome plan to do aboard the back of his eidolon? Archery? Charge things with a lance? Fire volleys of UMD-enabled magic missiles from a wand?

I have a bit of a personal vendetta against magus for various reasons. You have a hard sell on this one...

Magus lends itself to novaing, hard. Do you plan to follow this trend? If so, do you have plans for when you're out of resources?

There is a 99% chance than I will be houseruling spellstrike and/or spellcombat? Is this a dealbreaker for you? What is it about being a magus that appeals to you?

I very much like the idea of a druid/zen archer. That said, I may end up houseruling/nerfing zen archer to some degree. Is this a deal breaker for you?

Same for assimar and tiefling. I don't have a problem with the thematically but they are undeniably more powerful than core races. If you're committed to them, they will be nerfed.

I like Cag's abridged history. The story of the engineered soldier learning how to be human (or in this case, elf) is a good one. How do you foresee Cag's emotional development working out as the story progresses? How will he handle growing into (at least some level) of heroism?
