Luxina:
Somehow you know (how exactly is a very good question, somebody somewhere must study this stuff - but how do they determine how much damage a creature can take? Did anyone tell PETA that kind of research was going on?) the typical nightgaunt has these defensive stats:

Momijii looked on in horror as she realized where she was, she knew this plac, she knew what was coming, but she was too slow to react to it as the...thing of wing and claw swooped down and snatched up Filbert. There was nothing she could do it happened so quickly and she cried out, "Filbert!" She was angry now as she adopted her stance, ready to strike if the thing came close and yelled out in anger, "Alright you winged freak I'm not so helpless this time, COME AND GET ME COWARD, fight someone your own size!" Her memory from the nightmare left her confidence shaken and it likely showed, she just hoped it was hidden well enough.

Palace of Birdsong| War for the crown maps

Momijii's fury is a sight to behold as she scolds the Nightgaunt! The creature shrinks under her verbal assault. It's DC 16 to demoralize it.

Filbert tries to defend himself but it's hard to aim when being hoisted off the floor by some eldritch horror!

Heinrich prepares a particularly sticky wad... Mmm bubblegum flavor.

The Nightgaunt tries to flee away up into the sky, but Filbert's thrashing unbalances it and rather than gaining height, it slams painfully into the ground! It's claws rake the earth and in a frenzy it lashes out at those nearest to it!

Lizzie tries to attack it in earnest but it's unnaturally lithe and nimble and it dodges away. It tries to scuttles away from Momijii too, but carrying Filbert slows it down enough for one of her blows to connect!

Filbert fells very sick due to being yanked first one way then the other while being tickled mercilessly!

Lizzie leans on the door while Momijii takes a run up and puts her hips into a powerful side kick. The door shudders and you hear pottery inside break. She batters it once more and it swings open. Just inside you see the wreckage of a very large plant pot.

Perception DC 14:
From within you hear a low moan. I'd suggest you patch yourselves up before entering.

I'll update the map in a bit, on my phone right now.

Filbert offers healing to any who will take it, "I can help heal, you'll just be a bit tired after I do so."

Momijii or Lizzie could do with topping up.

Map updated.

The stairs down, for when you eventually look:
It looks like there was a deep shaft here with iron rungs sunk into the wall. After about 10' the shaft abruptly stops and there's nothing but inky darkness below. You get a sense of terrible foreboding from below. You do not belong down there.

Status Luxina:

Luxina enters the ominous shed with a torch in hand and looks around inquisitively.

"Wow. Looks like a pottery barn if you, judging by all the shards now."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Luxina moves a little closer towards the dark area near the stairs and tries to shine light upon the situation there.

Ten feet extra normal light due to my torch, so 20 feet extra range to visibility for me.

Uh ok. I'll give everyone a chance to post before processing that, healing yourselves is needed :)

What healing items shall we use?
I propose the scrolls now, as potions can be used by anyone.

If people agree:
Scroll Clw Momiji: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Scroll Clw Momiji: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Wand Clw Momiji: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Wand of Clw Lizzie: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wand of Clw Lizzie: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Potion of Clw Lizzie: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Is this okay?

Those seem good to me Lizzie.

Momijii was startled when they found a stairway going down, "This wasn't here before...was it?" she mumbled in confusion. It was then that Lizzie began to use some of the items they found and worked on tending the worst of the injuries. When Lizzie had finished using the wand on her Momijii punched one palm with a fist, grabbing the fist witht he open hand, and bowed over it in the small gnome's direction, "My thanks." With that she turned to face the shed once more and asked, "Do you want me to go first or last?"

Filbert simply nods as Lizzie uses the scrolls and potions to heal herself and Momijii, knowing his ability was still relatively untried so the others would likely be reticent to avail themselves of it.

Moving into the shed to stand beside Luxina, Filbert stares down into the tunnel knowing that something terrible awaited them below. This is the only way forward??"

Retrieving a torch from his gear he lights it from Luxina's torch "The more light the better" Dropping the lit torch to the bottom of the rung ladder. "I'll get it when I climb down but now Momijii's hands will be empty when she reaches bottom."

Earlier.
Lizzie gets busy with the healing, she and Momijii are back in fighting shape. Thanks.

I forgot to mention:
The steps down are through a manhole, whose cover has been dragged aside. Judging by the dust and dirt marks, it used to have a large plant pot on it.

Inside the shed.
Luxina peers down the hole, her light swallowed up by the vast darkness. She gets a sense of something vast and otherworldly below.

Filbert lights a torch and drops it down the hole, the torch gutters as it's buffeted by the wind but it carries on falling for a long time. Perhaps twenty maybe thirty heartbeats later it's still falling before winking out. You can't tell if that's because it hit something or if the wind blew it out. The bottom of the shaft is a very very long way down.

Before you have time to consider this, there's a noise from the other end of the shed! Several zombies have pushes themselves up though the loosely packed dirt floor!

Kn:Religion DC17:
These zombies are faster and stronger than the regular sort. Known as Apocalypse Zombies, they are responsible for wiping out whole towns. Being bitten would be bad...

Momijii:
The one closest to you looks awfully familiar...

"You're welcome.", Lizzie with a smile, seeing her friend in much better shape again.

With the torch plummeting further and further, her eyes are big in anticipation.
"Sure takes a while to drop down, falling down this hole would be bad."

As he ground starts to stir with rising zombies...
Kn. Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
"Ohmygosh! Zombies, and not the normal kind, either.
Beats me how i know, but these are called apocalypse zombies, the kind able to wipe out entire towns. Being bitten is bad, very bad.
To arms!!"
, and she grabs her mace.

Lot of good that'll do :P
Maybe there will be a scimitar to be found somewhere.

Edit:
Lizzie takes total defense, shield up, aiming to hold ground so Luxina and Momiji can safely withdraw.

Watching the torch fall and continue to fall for quite a while, elicits an "Oh my" from Filbert, who visibly gulps at the thought of climbing down that ladder.

"Umm does anyone have a rope?" He ask as he looks up to find the others staring at something deeper in the shed, trembling one hand reaches for the dagger at his belt, remembering his recent fight with the Nightgaunt. Others watching though see the familiar spin of debris surrounding him. "Perhaps we should go back outside then, giving us more room to move about."

Filbert backs out of the shed.
