Nothing much happens while you discuss. Actions?

Halfling Unch rogue (bandit) Hp 10/10 AC 18, T 15, FF 14, F+3, Ref +8, Will +3 (+2 extra vs fear), Perc +7, Stealth +15, Init +4, speed 20 feet.

"Shhhhh everyone. If we talk, whatever here can prepare."

With two fingers she motions to the others, along with a questioning look, to please watch both body and washtub, and keep her covered.

She herself has her shield in front of her, and approaches the body in half speed.

Total defense, slowly approaching the not-so-dead body.

Palace of Birdsong| Shards of Oberon map | War for the crown maps

Lizzie starts heading towards the washtub, walking very cautiously past the surgical table. As she does so the emaciated female patient moans, and Lizzie cant help but notice deep open surgical incisions in her legs and abdomen! All the wounds are extremely neat as if created by a surgeon with a scalpel for some diabolic purpose.

GM Rolls:
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 241d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26

Sense Motive DC 24:
There's off about that moan of pain, it seemed a little forced.

Perception DC 26:
While very gory, you're not totally convinced by the wounds. At first glance they look very deep, however on a closer inspection they're more like elaborate makeup than the real thing. Remember if you fail this, you suspect they're the real thing.

Halfling Unch rogue (bandit) Hp 10/10 AC 18, T 15, FF 14, F+3, Ref +8, Will +3 (+2 extra vs fear), Perc +7, Stealth +15, Init +4, speed 20 feet.

Little me is in for it. ^^

"Ohmygosh...she's been cut into badly!
Does anybody have some medical skills?"

Lizzie looks caringly at the patient, at the display of the (seemingly) sorry state the woman is in.

This thing has sky high bluff / disguise, it's distress seems very realistic to you. It's been enough time that more than 5 rounds have passed, so shaken condition is removed and I'm not going to track rounds unless a combat breaks out.

The 'patient' moans as if in torment as Lizzie approaches, while Crystal sensibly keeps Lizzie covered. There are undead and worse roaming these halls after all!

Before Lizzy has time to do anything more, Juglan's curiosity gets the better of him and he reacts strongly to this scene shouting and gesturing frantically, "Zandalus sees! No words. No words. No words!"

Let's say his intervention adds a +5 circumstance bonus on sense Motive & Perception. Don't forget you have inspiration too. If the dice roller hates you, you might want to consider providing aid, or whatever your character would normally do in this circumstance. Don't worry it'll be entering either way.

Sense Motive DC 24:
Was that a flicker of irritation? Yes! Juglan's intervention did not go down well.

Agrippa tightens his grip on the crossbow, wildly aiming it around.

It's not real! Agrippa shrieks, loosing a bolt at the "patient"

Bolt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 the bolt buries itself nearby and Agrippa shrieks again.

The things went by so fast.

Lizzie was trying to focus on the patient, while the panicked man started flapping his crazy mouth.

When Heinrich yells it's not real, she doesn't object by asking if he's sure. She trusted his word, his tone was true enough.

"Alrightalright!"

Lizzie strikes, still in some astonished way, the 'patient'.

Luxina moves over to assist Lizzie up front.

Heinrich follows his training and doing his alma matter proud, he sees through the Doppelganger's disguise and warns you all!

Filbert having had quite enough of Doppelgangers attempts to stop the fight before it even begins. His haunts launch an assortment of junk with terrifying force, leaving very real wounds on the prone form of the doppelganger!

Lizzie attempts to seal the deal, but her morningstar lands where the thing's head was moments before.

Standing at the doorway and watching behind them wasn't working to calm her like she had hoped, particularly with the discussion going on in the room. The near hysterical words were bothering her greatly but it wasn't until the crazy man screamed that she nearly fled in panic. That all changed when the fighting ensued. With yet another doppleganger to kill Momijii knew she had a chance to get to the dubious safety of the area those guards were being such dicks about letting them into. She adopted her stance and went quickly through the doorway to get it over with. She took up a position opposite Lizzie, before the creature could react she hoped, jumped up, and brought an elbow down aimed at the prone doppleganger's throat in the hopes of crushing it and ending the fight quickly.

Heinrich's bolt goes completely through the monster's lower left arm and Luxina's club smashes the upper part to a bloody ruin. The doppelganger is gravely wounded and roars in pain and fury!

Filbert hurries past, trying to spot whatever was moving in the distant wash tub. Near the basin he spots the slumped forms of two doppelganger corpses reverted into their natural forms and riddled with crossbow bolts, as well as an assortment of chopped up human body parts. The area reeks of death.

Filbert:
From where you are you can see into the high walled wash basin. It's filled with water and has the weakly thrashing form of some kind of undead human and what appears to be bones at the bottom. The undead has horrific wounds apparently caused by surgical incisions.

With an awful certainty you know what's happened here, the undead, likely a ghoul has been experimented on. It gets fed body parts, it heals up and gets experimented on again. Twisted doesn't even begin to describe the thought patters of the one behind this.

Captain York frowns at the peremptory imputations of the vainglorious Heinrich and barks, "I conclude your conceit is, this is all terribly unfair. Perchance it is. Assuredly the fallen and the moonstruck have no zest for it. Perforce one must deal with the cards dealt by fate, with no dithering or dickering. A certain realism is required. Your enterprise has expunged one threat with unabridged frenzy, the tally of these false faces has been accounted. Verily you may enter, for Winter has solicited your council."

You are lead through what the survivors laughingly describe as the gatehouse. These two small rooms were once clearly separated, but now a broad gap in the brick wall links them. Dusty buckets, brooms, and racks of cleaning supplies lie in the rear of one space, while the other features a small desk and chairs shoved out of the way. The northern room of this area was once used to store supplies and cleaning equipment useful to the upkeep of the boiler, the other one stored various chemicals (now removed).

The guards escort you into the Sanatorium's chapel. Improvised pallets are clustered beneath sculpted divinities, and cooking fires burn beneath cracked windows in this chapel. Panes of violet and blue stained glass form spiraling patterns between prison like bars, while dozens of candles flicker from modest alcove shrines.
