A low moan escapes the lips of the trapped nurse.
Map updated

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Is no one trained in Heal?
Agrippa moves to investigate the door in front of him Arrow drawn He cracks the Sunrod and hold it in front of him to illuminate his way.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Agrippa will open the door if he can.

Lizzie "beads" Tamar |

Guess not.
I have it as a class skill, but paladins get only 2 skill points per lvl. It's why i'm taking skill points instead of HP as FCB. If someone with more skillpoints per lvl could take some on occasion, it'd be neat.
Lizzie accompanies Heinrich.
"Wait a minute mister Heinrich, you can't march up there unprotected."
Shield raised before her, and mace at the ready, Lizzie walks alongside him.

DM Fang Dragon |

Next time you level, it probably would be worth somebody putting a point or two into heal, although I doubt it will come up too often.
The nurse moans softly, likely in great pain judging by the messy leg wound. As you approach her eyes flutter open and she rasps, "Water... Some water... Please?"

Crystal Delphi |

Crystal follows behind Heinrich, an arrow nocked.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
The scene before her is an undoubtedly pitiable one, but something causes the hairs on her neck to stand on end.
"...wait. Something's wrong here."

Filbert Springbit |

Filbert currently trying to unstrap his waterskin looks at Crystal quizzically.
"Have you looked around there's a lot wrong here"
But her warning stays his hand.

DM Fang Dragon |

From parched lips, the nurse croaks, "Please help?" She looks at you plaintively.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

SM: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 +1 to determine if insane
Hmm. Our undersized friend is quite correct, there isn't much here that IS right. However, we cannot in good conscience allow a sentient being to suffer...can we?
Agrippa puts his rapier away and moves to give the woman some water.
Probably going to pay for that...

Luxina Tenebris |

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 10
"Can't say what is amiss here except for the obvious. But regard this Heinrich. What are we after and would be in this direction? Changelings that's what. A healthy sense of caution is advisable, certainly when one of us seems to have apparent reason not to trust this."
Luxina stays away from the woman and draws her club.
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
Gosh I must sound awfully harsh right now. But I wouldn't have lived right now if I didn't have a healthy sense of distrust of others. certainly elves and most other folk as well. Not easy living as a dark-skinned elf that's not exactly a drow but often regarded as one. Prejudice... pah... Luckily I make my living in the dark places. Well used to make... where was I again? Oh right...Insanitorium of hell...

Momijii |

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Momijii was horrified at the state of the bodies, that someone would cut strips from them was quite disturbing. Then again this whole place had been very disturbing so far so why should she be surprised at that? When they heard the low moan of the nurse Momijii's first thought was to go check on her and, as Heinrich began to go forward the monk agreed, he shouldn't risk himself like this, "Here, let me." She moved close to him and spoke quietly into his ear, "If something is wrong I'm better able to defend myself from the attack without a weapon than you are."

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Agrippa shrugs off the help As if. he replies, his proud nature showing I'm quite capable.
Roleplaying tip: Act more like you are in a horror movie, less like an action hero.

Lizzie "beads" Tamar |

Defense: I'm a paladin with an unhinged mind.
I don't have tendency to be scared 100% of the time. :)
Plus there's always level headed characters...whether they die or not.
"You're right, people shouldn't suffer needlessly."

DM Fang Dragon |

Heinrich manages to pour a little water from his canteen for the elderly nurse. Much of it dribbles down her chin but some passes her patched lips and she perks up a little. In an uncertain and aged voice, she says, "Praise the gods, but you are a kind one! Let me take a closer look at you, my eyes are not what they where and I would know who I should thank."

Filbert Springbit |

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Crystal is right, something is wrong here. But what ?!?!
However the stench of rotted meat is almost overpowering. "Deal with her quickly, the guards can tend to her long term...we need to leave here. This place is wrong."
Filbert will move back towards the hallway, to alert the guardsmen that a victim lies here.
sorry guys have a project taking up my extra time right now for my daughter VB team. Will still get post in daily though

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 5 + (2) = 21
Agrippa moves closer to the woman and says Wait. What's this, curious. No smells of putrefaction or defecation. Interesting. Agrippa steps away and watches the woman carefully Taking 20 Perception...if we have time

DM Fang Dragon |

She looks at you with a puzzled expression and asks in a tremulous voice, "Is there something wrong?"

Lizzie "beads" Tamar |

SM?: 1d20 ⇒ 6
"What's wrong, Heinrich?", as the cautious man steps closer to the woman.
Looking at the woman, then back at the others, Lizzie's puzzled.
"You mean to say..she's been there, yet no sign of...erm, excrements?"
An expression of 'EW' shows on her face. For a reason she doesn't know, she steps back as well, it just seemed the logical thing to do.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Agrippa answers the questions put forward
Yes. There are many things currently wrong. However, the most pressing is the lack of olfactory evidence that you are in a most dire state.
to Lizzie, Agrippa retorts
Correct, my slight of build yet not slight of mind, friend. There is no excrement. However, we might be, as the saying goes, "hip deep in excrement" very soon.
Agrippa cautions everyone away from the woman.
Tell us good Madame. What is your name?

DM Fang Dragon |

The old lady seems frightened by a group of obviously armed folk discussing such things and stammers, "Nn n n n Nurse Oathday. And and and. And you are whom?"

Filbert Springbit |

Sense Motive(1): 1d20 ⇒ 2
Sense Motive(2): 1d20 ⇒ 12
Filbert pays the woman little attention as he look back and forth between Agrippa's and Lizzie's conversation They want to discuss whether the old lady messed herself?? Shaking his head Filbert turns back towards the hallway continuing his previous action.
"Hey behind the barricade, there is a nurse up here. She's injured, once we move on you need to tend to her." at least if you have a decent bone in your body.

Captain York |

After a few moments the guards fetch their captain. You tell him what you found, only to get a sarcastic reply, "Really? You expect us to fall for that!? Pull the other one mate! There's no way some nurse managed to survive in these tunnels for nearly a week... I mean look around you, there's been more than one battle here as they tried to get in, and they sure have been hungry judging by the awful sounds that come at times."
If you do look around, what he says appears to be true. There are various suspicious staines, deep scratches and more then a few broken crossbow bolts.

Filbert Springbit |

"A WEEK!?!?!" Filbert exclaims. "We just woke up an hour? ago...
As he looks around, the evidence is surely over whelming that this isn't that just happened. Turning around
"I think you might want to back away Heinrich." Filbert says as he steps back beside Luxina, little bits and pieces of rubble beginning to swirl around the jeweler.

Luxina Tenebris |

"A week huh? I wonder how we survived all this time while in the care of that mad changeling."
Things don't add up... My mind's racing to a conclusion of some sorts, but I can't grasp it. I have a feeling I know more... Bah... All this is making me crazy.... Luckily we're at the right place for that eh Lux?... Shut up...

DM Fang Dragon |

Filberts warning rings out and the nurse stares at you all dumbly. For a heart beat nothing happens, then a look of feral glee crosses her face. With horrid fascination Heinrich watches as 'Nurse' Oathday's skin ripples and coarsens, revealing a monster with a long thin, horrid pink tongue and a gleaming blood-encrusted dagger. With a strange grating voice, the thing shrieks, "Doctor Oathday will see you now! I shall cure you of your inferior flesh!"
Yikes that's a fairly horrible thing to see!

@Filbert & Momijii That sanity damage bypasses your Sanity edge so you pick up a lesser madness. You (well the group) were suspicious, you saw it coming, but that only made it worse! Captain York was right, there's monsters everywhere. Until you get a good nights sleep and can properly reflect upon things (and maybe after - up to you), you're going to find it hard to believe strangers are not actually blood sucking monsters. This includes Captain York and Co, takes one to know one right? For now I'd like you to RP this, rather than it having any specific game mechanic.

Momijii |

Sense Motive 1: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Sense Motive 2: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Momijii's relief was palpable when the woman didn't attack but instead began to talk to them. She felt a great deal of sympathy for her, trapped like that in this hell hole. When the guard told them just how long they'd been trapped in this place the she just couldn't believe it. She agreed with Luxina, here was no way they'd survived this long if they'd truly been here a week. Still, maybe there was something they weren't aware of at work, she certainly hoped so. She'd been so preoccupied with these thoughts that, when the nurse changed so horribly all of her worries were validated, the nurse was a monster, those guards could be too and, oh gods, so could her companions! Her eyes were wild as she decided that removing the one monster she was sure of would help settle her mind for now, she'd deal with the rest if she had to...please don't make me have to.
Tentative action pending Luxina and Lizie's as I have to work in the morning.
Assured now of her suspicions Momiji adopted her normal stance and, adopting the nature of a rampaging dragon, she charged through the terrain and her "allies" to try and take out the one monster that she knew was there.
Swift action to adopted dragon style, it lets me charge through rough terrain and allies.
[dice=charge at the "nurse"]1d20+6; 1d6+4[/dice]
I put an "M" on the map where I intend to end up. If I can't get there due to other movement then I'll do something different after I find out the status of things.

Luxina Tenebris |

Any knowledge checks about this thing?
"Away with you, you filthy mongrel!"
Luxina walks up to the 'doctor' and attempts to whack 'her' over the head with her club.

I have +4 vs confusion & insanity, and +8 vs fear effects.
Lizzie's eyes grow in surprise.
"Not..not a normal nurse!! O_O
I will protect my friends, have at you!"
If the square Lizzie wants to go to is difficult terrain, LIzzie will have to stop one SW of it, and goes total defense.
If not: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

DM Fang Dragon |

Filbert's haunts propel rubble at Dr Oathday, but their aim was off. He retreats to the far wall.
Luxina steps up the monster and lashes out with her club, taking it by surprise. The club connects with a meaty slap!
Lizzie draws her morningstar and sprints towards Dr Oathday, but skids to a halt just short due to all the rubble. Her weapon flicks out and hits the spot where the monster's head was moments before. Very close.
With a rush of wind, Momijii weaves sinuously between you and in a flying kick jumps over Lizzie and catches the 'Doctor' full on the chest!
Moments later the monster's throat sprouts the fetching of an arrow, accompanied by the twang-thwack of Crystal's bow!
Heinrich downs an alchemical preparation!
Doctor Oathsday shanks Momijii in the left arm, leaving a nasty cut, and then brushes past attempting to retreat!

DM Fang Dragon |

As the doctor flees Momiji lashes out with a kick, but the pain distracts her and she misses.
Filbert's haunts fling several pebbles with great force in the general direction of the fleeing doctor, but the recoil nearly bowls him over and they go wide.
Luxina tries to chase after the doctor, but the rubble underfoot proves tricky and she nearly falls over while swinging her club. I noticed an arrow, you'd have ended up with partial cover there, I moved you closer. This will put you in a better position if the doctor keeps on running that way :)
