I am traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday starting tomorrow AM through Saturday late. I should be able to post something while away, but may be in a turkey coma most of the weekend. Should return to active duty on Sunday.
I am thankful for all of you! This has been one of the most fun PBP games I have been in, and I appreciate your wit, creativity, and patience as we wind through this long game together. Thanks!
Human (Varisian) Bard 3/Swashbuckler 3 | HP 47/47 | AC 17 | T 14 | FF 14 | F +5 R +9 W + 6 (+8 vs emotion) | Init +4 (+2) | Perc +10 | The Waxworks | Harrow Points 2/3
It's been a blast so far. Great job and thanks for running the game, DMDE. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Getting Trinia safely to Jasan earns the party a Story Award of 600xp per player. This moves your cumulative total to 8111/10000 or about 53% to level 5. Well done!
Unless you have more to do out here towards Trots, and really want to take this off the rails, the scene should shift back towards Korvosa again for a while.
Be advised that I will be traveling for the holidays from 12/22 through 12/30. I do expect to be able to log in and post during that time, but may be spotty especially on the holidays themselves.
Wishing you all the best this holiday season! Looking forward to another year of gaming with you all!

DM DoctorEvil, I had a readied parry in case a wolf should attack Devan that I posted in spoilers.
Defeated: 1 dire wolf and 5 normal wolves. Victory here adds 700 more XP per player moving your cumulative total to 8811/10000 or about 70% to level 5.

DMDE, I agree that any condition that denies me an Attack of Opportunity would also deny the Parry and following Riposte, as well. I've read on various forums that Combat Reflexes could fix that, so I might have a good next feat selected, if you agree.
Cleric 3/Wizard 3/MyTh Hp (54/54) | AC 14 T10/F14| FRW 7/3/10 (+2 vs enchantments)| Init: 0| Percep: 8
The only problem might be the riposte portion since riposte is an immediate action and for some strange reason immediate actions can be used at any time *except* for when you are flat footed.

I’m thinking you’re right. I’d be able to parry, but not take advantage of the riposte if successful. Too bad uncanny dodge isn’t a thing for swashbucklers anymore.
Defeated: 1 Rapier Fighter and 6 Sczarni thugs. They add to 800xp per player. This moves our cumulative total to 9611/10000 or about 90% to level 5. Better get those advancement ideas started!
Injured:
Nargun: after raging drops, 23/57 hp remaining, with 12 NL on board.
Twilight: 21/28hp remaining
Just so you know, the Down Command per handle animal is defined as:
Down: The animal breaks off from combat or otherwise backs down. An animal that doesn't know this trick continues to fight until it must flee (due to injury, a fear effect, or the like) or it's opponent is defeated.
No problem with how it played out this time, but in the future, I figured you should know.
Yep, I knew. Thanks for the prompt and info. in the last fight, Whisper had an AoO before Mirela could give the command, it just was a bit out of order because of PbP structure. Will continue to follow as written for the most part.
It may be relevant later and I will explain over time, but have any of you played through the 2nd book of Rise of the Runelords AP? There are few 'easter eggs' in this AP that derive from that one. In Second Darkness as well.

I’ve played through RotRL in its entirety, so looking forward to it.
Not sure if we talked about this or not already, but one of the easy one is the Vancaskerkin family. You ran into Verik already at All the Worlds Meats (where Devan is heading now), in RotRL you meet his brother Orik under Thistletop, and in Second Darkness, the father Saul Vancaskerkin plays a major role in book 1. I believe a sister Vancaskerkin (thought I can't remember the name, Natalya maybe?) is an NPC in Shattered Star.
There are a few others. These all take place in Varisia, which is obviously a favorite of James Jacobs who was the lead developer on all those books.
I haven't played, it but I read the whole AP many years ago, right when the Anniversary Edition came out.
The only time I've had a chance to use is is a few years ago. I used a very heavily modified version of the middle portion of the second book (the manor) for my 5E home campaign. But I changed it so much, that I'll probably miss most of the Easter Eggs.
About the only thing I remember relating to this is the sidebar in the RotRL Anniversary Edition that calls out the direct link between the adventures.
But NPC names and such, I'm never going to catch as I swapped them all for people/events that related to the story I was telling at the time.

Possible RotRL spoiler?:
Was Vorel Foxglove the would-be lich of the family?
Yep, Devan you hit the nail on the head that's exactly who the name is.
Twilight, yep there is a link there.
Spoiler for RotRL book 2:
Alren Foxglove from the first book is the descendant of Vorel and as Atticus says, Not exactly as nice in the second book. His Mannor is the best haunted house I've found so far in all of pathfinder.
Like I said, there may be some easter eggs here if you know where to look for them.
The connection to Vorel Foxglove is not as explicit in the text of the AP, but referred to. Because of how you are investigating, it has become more relevant.

Just realized taking level 3 is Swashbuckler instead of Bard nets Devan +1 to Will, as well.

About my level 5 feat, I'm pondering between a save bonus (+2 to Reflex or Will) or Iron Skin, which gives me +1 Ac..
My saves are quite low ( +2 to Reflex, +1 to Will) and if I can soak up some serious damage, there are spells that could still be dangerous (any mind affecting spell, in fact, first)

My Ac could get a bonus too..
From an advice perspective, with your HP total, I'd be far more worried about mind-affecting spells than anything else. That's my two cents.
