Mirela frowns slightly before responding,
I know... He won't be understanding why, but I was always clear that I would leave someday. I just don't think he believed dat I would really do it. You will tell em won't you?

She turns back and starts to roll up her bedroll.

Yes, of course, I can break the news to the town. But what should I tell them? Do you plan to return when you free everyone from Lamm? There are plenty of solid folk that could use your help in the towns around here.

I don't know. Unless things have changed, there will be a lot of little lambs that will be needing help once Lamm is taken care of. My Mom and Aunts can't take care of them, they never had enough clients to have extra, much less provide for a bunch of little uns. Plus there be so many others in the city that will need a guide. How can I turn my back on so many that need help? These people have you, many in the city have no one.

The girl with the wild Red-Gold hair slips her rolled up bedroll on top of her pack and then slides the whole thing onto her back.

Besides, I do know what I'm about to do may get me killed. Last time I saw Lamm, he beat me right good for just skipping a day's work to see the animals. I may be all growed up and better trained, but this time I be taking on him and his bully boys. .

As she talks she attaches her quiver to her belt so the arrows balance her Morningstar on opposite sides of her sleek hips.

I don't want to be promising anything when I don't know if I will be alive next week.

Any of us could be dead by next week. After all the Lady of Graves works on her own timetable. the man says as he watches the young woman pick up her well oiled bowstave and slip it into its holder on her backpack.

As she starts to protest he holds up his hand.

When she does not respond, he sighs.

He cuts off as he is engulfed in a sudden bear hug.

When the two break apart, Mirela leaves without saying another word, and John pretends not to notice that her face is wet.

Three days later, the Varisian madam of the Sailors Delight looks up from her book as the front door opens and a strange looking young woman walks in. With only a sidways glance she says:

I know you are closed, that’s why I came in now, Aunt Zelendra. the young woman says cutting her off.

The woman looks up in confusion for with her sunbleached Red-Gold hair, young tanned face, and wide dark eyes, the woman could clearly not be one of her kin. She doesn’t look like any of the any of the other girls offspring, not with that rough made armor, travel stained boots and all those weapons. She looked like a hunter or mercenary, but she didn’t know of any mercenary companies in town that bore Erastil’s signs on their shoulders, and how did she know her name? Wait Erastil could she be a priestess?

As the long moments of confusion dragged on, a smile suddenly split the young woman’s face, and with it the faint hint of recognition dawned in Zelendra Ulterbar’s eyes. She’s the right age, but her hair is lighter, and we sent her off with that priest. She has curves now, Not what her mother has, but she has the same face shape…

Mirela?... Is that you? she asks uncertainly.

A quiet chuckle escapes from the woman.
Yes, Aunt Zelendra, it’s me. I guess if you don’t recognize me, I won’t have to worry about others figuring out I am back. I got Aunt Kayoko’s letter telling me what is going on with Lamm, and I knew it was time to come back.

Wait, what letter? And how did she even know where to find you?

You’ll have to ask her dat, I have no idea. All I can say is she’s been writing me ever since the brotherhood taught me to read.

Well I’ll be… Quite Kayoko’s been keeping secrets… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, she always was a sly one. But what I am I thinking? Come in, Come IN! The Varisian turns around and calls into another room. Matty! Go tell Aunty Aula to come down here! And tell her to come quick! I don’t understand it but Mirela has come back home!

Apperance:
With sun bleached red-gold hair and rough hand made armor, Mirela could at first be confused for a Shoanti barbarian. But a second glance soon dispels one of that notion, for no Tribeswoman ever moved with such comfort in the crowds of Kovosa.
A bright young face, large dark eyes and callused hands could lead you to believe she is one of the young farm wives who come into the city to sell their crop, but the lovingly cared for bow on her back indicates she may be more at home with the hunters who gather the meat for the city.
Yet all doubt of who she is is dispelled as soon as she speaks. For her accent and manner of speaking mark her clearly as someone who grew up amount the lower classes in the city she thinks of as home.
With an easy smile, compassionate manner and an athletic build, Mirela could be considered pretty if she ever bothered to focus on her looks. However for her there is always something more important or someone in need that take priority over caring what others think of her.
