Beware the wrath of Conan the Grammarian!

Round 1 (ongoing):

The cats move to interpose themselves between the party and their apparent patron, ready to attack when anyone gets in range.

Dangit, post from several hours ago disappeared!

Senja conjures a strange, tangled mass into his hands, then pulls a strand out and grips it, while tossing the rest at the nearest leopard. As the shadowy thing flies through the air, it's clear it is a long, shadowy string, the end of which hits the ground right in front of the leopard! Senja yanks it back, hoping to distract the great cat from the fight!

Technically it would work on the Div too, although I doubt it will get that far the way the spell works.

Both leopards obligingly decide to look at the pretty colors.

As I read the spell, hypnotic pattern fascinates the affected creatures. Here's an excerpt from the definition of "fascinated" in the Glossary:

PRD wrote:
Any potential threat, such as a hostile creature approaching, allows the fascinated creature a new saving throw against the fascinating effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the fascinated creature, automatically breaks the effect.

Eva narrows her eyes at the giant cats as they stop attacking, glancing between Nuria and the leopards thoughtfully. Her brows furrow as she tries to communicate a question to the fiery abuser of punctuation: Is it safe to go in there?
