If I'm reading the UMD entry right, Kali's sorcerer level allows her to cast those with no issues.

DM Carbide |

Freedom of movement isn't on the sorcerer/wizard spell list, so that'd be a problem.
I had a far busier weekend than I thought I would. I'll get a game post up tomorrow.

DM Carbide |

Sorry for the delay; I was out of town Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're getting my daughter set for her new job, and it's something like three hours away. There's a certain amount of distractedness happening, as this will be the first time she's lived away from home. At least we have friends in the area.

![]() |

Quick Update:
We're approaching the end of escrow and I'll be moving into my new digs shortly afterward. I should have my computer set up first thing and I'll be back up to 50% posting capacity at least. I apologize for the slackiness this past couple months.

![]() |

...and I'm back.
I'm setup at my new place and I've got my computer set up. I should be slacking much less now.

As we're once again approaching the holiday season, I encourage all my DMs to make sure their Paizo wish list is up to date. For reasons.

DM Carbide |

On the extremely off chance that any of you are in the area of Lombard, Illinois, my wife and I are having a little 25th anniversary party in Room 943 at the Westin Lombard, from 8 to midnight. Munchies, cake, and punch (of the nonalcoholic variety, as I am on meds that don't play well with alcohol).

While we at it. I will be out of town from Dec. 28 through Jan. 1. Traveling to Aruba (don't be jealous!) and I have no idea about wifi and such.

DM Carbide |

Have fun, y'all.
ETA: Kragnor, I expect you'll have better things to do than update games, even if you have wifi.

DM Carbide |

Busy few days at work; will try to move things along later today.

DM Carbide |

Apologies for my general silence here. My son managed to total his car (without injury to himself or anyone else--or damage to the other vehicle, which is what happens when a Civic hits black ice and slides into the back of an SUV--all the crumple zones did what they were supposed to), and my wife and I have been working on getting him a new/used one. Will try to get back onto a regular schedule tomorrow.

![]() |

Wow, Carbide, sorry to hear it! But I'm very glad everyone involved is okay. My son got his license a few months ago. He's a good, careful driver, but coping with unusual situations like you describe is a challenge for anyone.

![]() |

No problem Carbide. As a matter of fact, I slid off the road last Tuesday and wrecked the front of my truck. My three girls were in the car, though no one was hurt. Their eyes were as wide as half dollars as I kept saying, "HOLD ON! EVERYONE HOLD ON!"
Dealing with insurance and collisions centers can be tedious.

DM Carbide |

I managed to keep the insurance out of it. The other driver wasn't going to file a claim, and considering what we would have gotten for a 2007 Civic vs. what we'd pay in increased premiums we didn't file one either. It meant eating the cost of the replacement, but that wasn't much--we got him a 2007 Accord with 132k miles on it and some cosmetic body damage. Not the most expensive of cars.
Isn't winter driving fun? Glad you and yours came out OK.

![]() |

Bummer about Kragnor! Looking at the PFS guide, it'd be 5450 gp for the Raise Dead, and then 2560 for two Restorations to get rid of the negative levels, for a total of 8010 gp. With five of us chipping in, that comes to 1602 gp apiece, which I'm happy to contribute.

DM Carbide |

That's only a third of your take for this level alone, so quite doable.

![]() |

I agree. The only question I'd have is whether Kragnor might have had time for a quick chat with Pharasma, to see if she can't get him on better terms with Randoma, the goddess of random number generators.

![]() |

Thanks guys.
Unforutnately, Krag only has abot 3 PP, so that doesn't help.

![]() |

Not a problem, Krag. We've all been using our PP to buy hexes on the chronicles, so we're all in that same boat I think. And it's not much gold, relative to what we're getting from this chronicle.
As I wrote up my last post, I was looking to make sure we didn't kill the summoner's brother, and I found this post from Carbide. I guess he knows what he's talking about, eh?

![]() |

Maybe we'll just have to make sure to heal after every encounter. A couple of people with First Aid Gloves will help once we have the necessary amounts of Fame.
In any event, I'm going to be investing in Adamantine weapons.

![]() |

Assuming we continue fighting stuff underwater, everyone should invest in piercing weapons too.

DM Carbide |

Fortunately, this is the last of the underwater fighting for a while.

![]() |

I'm leaning toward taking a ranger level next level.
What favored enemies should I consider. Based on past experience I'm thinking either construct or elemental.

DM Carbide |

Looking ahead, there's a wide variety of foes, but constructs would be a good choice.

![]() |

Sorry guys... no energy to post/level tonight. Should be able to post tomorrow evening, but if I'm holding anything up, please NPC me.

![]() |

Day Job: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
I'd also like to purchase the B3 Hex from the Land Rush Chronicle sheet.

DM Carbide |

No problem, Eva--I'm going to be at a con this weekend, and tonight we're going out for my daughter's birthday, so my posting is going to be thin for a few days.

DM Carbide |

Sorry about the delay; have been dealing with some heavy family stuff. If you haven't already done so make your day job rolls. After the raise & restorations, you'll have 3198 gp to play with, and I'll get the actual chronicle sheets out when I can.

DM Carbide |

Anyone else looking to buy a hex?

DM Carbide |

Hex G Exploding Settlement, got it.

![]() |

I know we had talked about doing some levels of this as slow track, but I don't recall if the chronicle we're about to get is one of those. Will we be getting 3 XP on this chronicle?

DM Carbide |

Yes. Losing 2 XP in Godhome has the same effect, at least for the first round of slow vs. fast.
