I haven't sent the chronicles yet. I'm singing in a concert tonight, and we've had a lot of rehearsals this past week.
DM Carbide |
I don't have the chronicles together yet, but while you wait you get 8712 gold to use.
DM Carbide |
I think it should be doable with four, but load up on antitoxin.
DM Carbide |
I also got the session reported.
Kali Starr |
Kali is leveled up. Please note her Initiative has gone up to +6 thanks to a Dexterity Belt.
I'm fine with going into the next level with 4 if everyone else is good with it.
Senja, you could get a Dex or Con belt to make things a little easier. You could also just bank your gold for now in case the worst happens.
DM Carbide |
I'll be traveling all day today, and won't be able to post anything until tomorrow.
DM Carbide |
Then, of course, my daughter was in town most of the weekend, and we did a bunch of family stuff. Chronicles are mostly done.
Kali Starr |
I received my Chronicle sheet, thanks. The Day Job was a little higher than what I rolled, but I can fix it with no issues. Thanks!
DM Carbide |
Oops, you're right, Kali. Thanks for catching that!

I had a dream about this campaign last night. Perspective was weird (kept shifting between different characters), but essentially this evil half-snake-medusa* had taken over this level. We met her and she turned most of us into "snakekin" (weird invention of the dream which involved one's eyes turning snake-like and one's sympathies being turned snakeward). I think Kali actually made her Will save when the snake-lady looked her in the eyes, but then the rest of us (in our snakekin state) turned against her or something...
Yeah, weird dream. :)
* See my RotRL game's last fight...
DM Carbide |
I recommend avoiding whatever you had for dinner last night -_^.
DM Carbide |
What's going to happen, you know, is that Kali is going to solo the level through a combination of great rolls and sneaking, then catch up with the other three (who are, incidentally, on the way to the next level).
Senja Kala |
Hmm. Perhaps Senja should hear a little voice in his head, suggesting that they go try the fun teleporting fountain.
In my post that was eaten yesterday, I asked if we were on the map somewhere. Perhaps the answer to that question would tell us that we're entering a rather different part of the spire? And thus should turn back and reconsider our approach?
DM Carbide |
The way that you're taking down sure looks like the stairs between levels. You're not on the map anywhere, but I'm not sure how the PCs would know that.
DM Carbide |
No problem; I've been on the road the past couple of days myself.
DM Carbide |
OK, I'm back for at least the next few days, and will try to get Kali reunited with the party (one way or another). I hope everyone had a great holiday!
DM Carbide |
I'll be scarce Saturday and most of Sunday--time for the annual chili party, and I'm going to be cooking a lot. Right now the house smells of chilies; I roasted ten poblanos in the oven, skinned and seeded them as best I could, roasted a couple of pounds of tomatilloes, and made a bunch of salsa verde. More different kinds of chili tomorrow, along with lentils, feijoada, macquechoux, and cold sesame noodles (for Lunar New Year).
DM Carbide |
Hey, Oladon--heard from the Count lately? He hasn't posted anything for a couple of weeks (though his character has had very little to do).
Senja Kala |
I will be away at a con Friday PM until Monday, and posting will probably not happen. Then, over the next few weeks, I will be on some extensive work trips, which wrap up on March 19. I should still be able to post most days, but my schedule will be a bit erratic.
DM Carbide |
Thanks for the heads-up! Which con? I've seen postings from JAF0, Neal B, and Silbeg that they'll be at cons this weekend as well.
Senja Kala |
I'll be at DundraCon, which is in San Ramon, near San Francisco. I don't know if any of those folks are local - but Presidents' Day weekend is a good time to have a con anywhere in the US.
DM Carbide |
Traveling today, so posting will be sparse.
DM Carbide |
I have to apologize for not posting more often over the past week or so. I've been having a lot of life happening--there's a comprehensive reorg in process at work, and we're also preparing for an ISO audit at the end of this month and a visit in April from our regulator. Seriously, someone thought it would be a good idea to schedule a major upheaval in the Laboratory support divisions for right after two high-stakes audits, which seems like pretty terrible management. Unless they want to use that as an excuse when we tank the audits, maybe? A cynical strategy, if it is one. Add in some family stuff, and I've been really distracted. One of the other games I'm running is just about done, though, as is the special I'm playing in. This will give me a bit more time to focus on this and the other games I'm running, and try to get us moving more consistently again. Thanks for your patience.

Sheesh, Carbide that sounds like no fun at all. Good luck getting through it.
I’ll be taking off tomorrow for a week of vacation and my internet access will be a bit unpredictable. I’ll make every effort to post, but bot me as necessary to move things along.
DM Carbide |
It's been the death of a thousand cuts for me lately. I hope to be able to get something up tonight. (It didn't help that I screwed up the chronicle sheets for the game that just wrapped.)
DM Carbide |
The ISO auditors decided to pick on another directorate. I have the nearly-undivided attention of one of the regulators next week, though, so posting may be particularly scarce.
DM Carbide |
I'd wanted to post something tonight, but I'm not feeling well and my wife is encouraging me to go pass out. Tomorrow, I hope.

I have a mob of people over today and into tomorrow, so no posts until then.
