DM Beckett |
This is just a placeholder thread for discussion on the upcoming Game Day games.
At this point, I'm assuming that we will be limited to running 3 games at once, as with past Game Day events.
First off, I do plan on running the Specials, but I'm waiting for more information to come out. I'm also waiting to see if it's going to be, for instance, 3 games plus the Specials, or if the Specials are a part of that, or if it's even limited.
So, for now, I'm going to assume only 2 tables, but add a third just in case.
Table 1: 7-00 The Sky Key Solution [1-11]
Table 2: ???
Table 3: ???
DM Beckett |
So, the first thing I'd like for everyone to do is introduce themselves. I know many of you will have played together in the past, but still, it's always nice to get to know each other again.
Secondly, I'd like for everyone to consider what they would like to play, for each of the tables.
What character levels are we looking at?
Is there something you want specifically?
More to come.
DM Snider |
I am DM Snider. I have ran for some of you before. I am only a 2star GM and am looking at GMing what i can also. The sky key solutions would be great. unfortunatly both of my favorite characters are in a game. i would love to play it in core also just to knock it out. for standard i am looking at running a lvl 7 unchained monk, a lvl 9/10 maneuver master monk, or a lvl 5 rogue barbarian. If you run a core i would play low tier as i only have lvl 2 or 3 characters.
DM Beckett |
I'm going to also open up a Game Play thread. <Now open> Please dot, just so this will be easier to find for everyone, but keep the discussion focused here. Both are simply placeholders, so when it's game time, I will be creating completely new threads for each game.
I'm open to running or playing Core. However, as it does require all or none, that's something EVERYONE would need to be on board for.
E'li |
Depending on what level we play at, I only have people 2nd level and under.
Ariana-Fighter |
Hello. I have this level eight fighter, and then I have some level ones, and a core level one. My other characters are in games that may not finish before the gameday starts.
I'm open to playing in the special. Also, there are very few higher tier scenarios that I've played. I'm open to all of those.
ckelley83 |
Characters I have available:
Rilas, lvl 9 Ranger
Jorah, lvl 5 Oracle
Varuna, lvl 3 Investigator
Korug, lvl 2 Bloodrager
Amelie, lvl 1 Paladin (core)
My hope is to get my Oracle, Investigator and Bloodrager into games for Gameday. My only core character is tied up in Godsmouth and really not sure if it will be done in time, it will be real close. My preference would be to play my Investigator for the special but ultimately it doesn't matter. With the games Snider is running, my plan is to build a pregen baby so to speak. Is it possible to run a pregen in two separate games at the same time and have them apply to the same character?
I'm also considering my first attempt at GMing during this Gameday. Not sure what I would run, maybe MotFF since I hear it's fairly easy on new GMs. I would just need volunteers to be test subjects.
On a totally separate note, is there any hope of resurrecting Hell's Rebels?
Curaigh |
Is it possible to run a pregen in two separate games at the same time and have them apply to the same character?
Negative. Any character played in PbP is unavailable for other play. Since you want to apply credit to ####-[1] both are essentially the same character.
I've been PbP since the decemvirate first allowed it. Then Beckett GMed my -1 through Black Tides & my -1 just reached Seeker in March.
Available characters are kind of in Flux, but will stabilize in a week or so. Since I have multiples in each tier I am good for each tier. :)
Occultist 1 (GM baby not built)
Saurian Shaman 2*
Magus 4
Cleric 7*
Wizard 7*
Paladin 11*
*Availability in flux

Are you sure on that? I'm honestly not sure, though I know I've done so in the past. I'll look around, unless Curaigh has a link?
DM Beckett |
Would anyone be interested in giving Bone Keep a try for able 2?
Something I want to point out is that Bone Keep, if you so choose, is said to be extremely difficult. Not impossibly so, but it's on the tougher side.
Secondly, doing so would also probably mean doing parts 2 and 3, which are also difficult.
Part 1 & 2 are 3-7, while Part 3 is 5-9. So, everyone interested would be required to have a character that could do all three together, no pregens.
Curaigh |
A local GM offered to run it tomorrow. I don't know if it will go through though. My first question was continuing with the same characters & he said it wasn't required.
I will look for rulings mentioned above, rule it as you interpret it until then.
DM Beckett |
It's not strictly required, but it's suggested. Unless I'm missing something.
Ariana-Fighter |
I won't have anyone in the Bonekeep range by the time Gameday rolls around. If I did I would be very interested. My local PFS lodge is running it, but it's been up against my own GM days so I couldn't participate.
DM Beckett |
That's fine. However, let's start getting some suggestions out so we can start weeding out which ones people can not play in. I'm pretty much game for anything.
DM Beckett |
I was thinking we might do a low and a high table to compensate for that, or perhaps E'li could play a higher level pregen, as he has in the past..
E'li |
I would rather play one of my characters, the pregen thing gets old especially if I don't have anyone that ever gets high enough to do anything with.
DM Beckett |
I was curious, whatever happened with all of those higher level pregen Chronicles? Did you apply them to first level characters, or do you just need to hit level 3 to start jumping up levels?
DM Beckett |
So, how about:
========================================
========================================
Table 1 (Slot 1): 7–00 The Sky Key Solution <1-11>
========================================
Table 2: 7–17 Thralls of the Shattered God <5-9>
========================================
Table 3: (assuming it's out) 8-01: Portent's Peril <1-5>
========================================
AND
Table 1 (slot 2): 7–99 Through Maelstrom Rift <6th>
Even the limitless Plane of Air is at risk of eldritch instability, and a cult dedicated to the planes’ integrity has sensed an imminent calamity brewing deep within a primal storm. In this special adventure, the players portray a diverse coalition of elemental guardians that must embark on perilous journey into the maelstrom’s heart and avert a disaster that threatens the Inner Sphere.
or
Table 1 (slot 2): 7-98 Serpent's Ire <8th>
A parasitic faction known as the Korholm Agenda has tried to corrupt the upstanding Aspis Consortium from the inside out, all in the vain pursuit of revenge and profit. Now one of the powerful Aspis Patrons has learned that the Korholm Agenda has siphoned the Consortium’s funding to build a base of operations in Nidal. This shall not stand. He has assembled a team of top agents—including both new faces and veterans of the attack on the Grand Lodge a year ago—to infiltrate the operation and shut it down by any means necessary.

Ariana-Fighter |
I'm in for Table 2: 7–17 Thralls of the Shattered God <5-9> and I'd love to be in Serpent's Ire.
7-00 would have to be low tier for me to join unless it's around 8. Then I can't join table 2. I'd have to run a 1.0 character through it. All my other's are currently in games and I doubt they will be free by 8/27.
DM Beckett |
Im honestly not sure what tiers there are for it, nor have I heard really what, if any plans there are to divide it up, but, Im certain that if everyone here can not play it together, we can find a seat for everyone somewhere.
Since both of the Slot 2 Specials are Pregens, (arg, why!?!?!?), I don't see it being to difficult to make that happen, BUT, I am also not certain how they are going to handle who gets to run it.
So, lets make this simple.
Who is in for the Sky Key Solution?
What Character/Class/Level?
I believe that some folks where specifically wanting the range to allow them to play level 7 characters, but could be wrong.
ckelley83 |
If it's anything like the last multi table they ran, and I believe it is, then the tiers are 1-2, 3-4, etc. You are allowed to play 1 level out of tier but with so many tables being run, there's really no need. It's really up to the GM what tier they want their table to be.
Assuming I play my lvl 9 Ranger for table 2, then everything else I have is 5 or below. So I'm fine with tiers 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6.
E'li |

I want to hit 3rd level in a character so that I can play with them. I have this warpriest that I really like. It seems to me that 1dst level games are easier to get into as there is no PFS in Albuquerque.
Curaigh |
I've played & HQed sky key solution, so you can work it to meet everyone else's needs. I believe it has a tier for every level, but sometimes 7th and 9th levels are out-of-tier.
Of the folks who wanted 7th level it was to get an all wizard party together for the trading of spells. Don't worry about either as the only one who has joined the conversation is Ariana, the fighter.
Thralls of the Shattered God I can do. In fact I have a particular interest in the backstory, though the character who played through the other two parts has now retired.
As to why pregens? I think it will be obvious when you see the pre-gens, though it might be spoiler. I am guessing though and that might be a spoiler as well.
We might be able to do a 1-5 before the start of gameday though. I have a druid 2, and a magus 4. Assuming the druid is free by then and the magus hasn't leveled out from a local game (lot of new folks lately, means lots of 1-5 tiers. :)
DM Beckett |
Sky Key Solution:
DM Snider (5-10)
Ariana (8, other)
E'li (2, maybe 3+)
CKelly83 (2-5)
Miss anyone?
So it looks like if we played maybe the 3-4 Tier, (assuming Ariana has someone in that range, 2nd-5th) that we could fit everyone there. That is, if it is correct that you can play within 1 level of the Subtier.
Thralls of the Shattered God:
DM Snider (5-7)
Ariana (other)
CKelly83 (5)
Curaigh (7)
E'li (Pregen)
Miss anyone?
Portent's Peril:
DM Snider (5)
Ariana (other)
E'li (2, maybe 3+)
CKelly83 (2-5)
Curaigh (1-4)
Miss anyone?
DM Beckett |
So, if this looks correct, please insert a character's name and Class/Level next to your name on each list. We can change this a little later, I'm just trying to find out if this will work for everyone, not lock in characters.

The warpriest is just starting an adventure but the DM has not really been posting. This would be his 2.2 adventure, if they finish.
DM Beckett |
I should have been more clear on something.
For the Special Core run, this is only if 1.) there is enough interest, and 2.) I'm even allowed to run it.
If folks have not signed up for a table on the Google Sheets page by Aug 10th, I'm going to assume they are not interested in that game. I'm still open to other requests, but if I don't see anything either here or there, I'll assume it's okay to open the seats to others.
As far as I can tell, a bunch of people have signed on to run the Special, and already have tables without really getting official word on it, while the Specials almost outnumber the rest of the games being run. I also know something else is going on, and I don't want to commit to it too early. But, if everyone is interested, it's an option, too.
DM Beckett |
I wanted to give everyone here first crack, as they have all requested to get into a game. I'll open it up to all, but I want to make sure I know how many seats are open for others for each one, if any.
I don't believe there is a deadline per se, but I do know there is supposed to be another announcement coming soon, after everyone is finished with Gencon, with more details.
DM Beckett |
Just a reminder, today is the last day to claim a seat on the list I posted above.
Tonight (six hours or so), I'll be posting an open recruitment thread for each offering any seats that are not already claimed.
HERE is the link once again.
Currently it looks like neither DM Snider (who might be out for work) and El'i have signed up at all.
@ Curaigh: I'm still open to any of those other folks trying to get in to trade spells if they want to.
@ All: Please remove your name from the appropriate list, or just ad a note that you are not planning to play, on the lists you don't want in.
